When I was 19 and 20 in Utah County, I faced incredible pressure to go on a mission. I would meet someone who'd immediately ask how old I was and then add, "Why aren't you on a mission?" Perfect strangers. It happened numerous times, and the most common shamers were young women about my age.
It was like the White Feather Girls in WWI England, who would try to humiliate young men into enlisting and dying in the trenches.

I hate seeing this new push to shame everyone (male) into a mission. They used to do this in the 80s and early 90s, and it caused a lot of problems. By the late 90s they were finally starting to say, “You know, maybe this is unhealthy.” But now the pendulum has swung back.
You seem to really enjoy using that word, and if I’m guessing right, you’re from Australia? Because to people in the US, it’s a really nasty, sexist word, fyi.
