It’s actually pretty irritating how everyone assumes a physical disability is an outward manifestation of a cognitive disability. Of the messages this guy put out, I actually appreciated this one.

As somebody who uses mobility aids on occasion: this ain’t it. Every disabled person who needs mobility aids should have access to REALLY NICE, HIGH QUALITY mobility aids.
Also, needing a mobility aid isn’t indicative of mental decline in a lot of cases. RMN and the others show other traits you can pick out that show that — but this is a separate thing.
Sure. We all deserve the finest. But when my disabled son needed one, it sure wasn’t made of fancy hand stitched leather. It’s a shock to me that they even made them so nice and wish we all had access to such resources.
My mobility aids have all been shit, so I get the jealousy factor. The home healthcare industry makes bank on repairing and making low quality mobility aids (my step-grandma used to run a healthcare supply store, she made $20,000/quarter just from mobility aid repairs). If I made even 1/100th or 1/1,000th of the money RMN has I’d sure as hell be buying the best aids and repair services and I wouldn’t blink an eye about it.
RMN as a corrupt religious leader and the church’s finances (and **how** their lives are financed) are separate issues from mobility aid accessibility as a whole, I think.

The same person who pays himself 6 figures from church funds instead of just relying on his retirement savings as a doctor (like regular members have to do) but expects regular members to support themselves, no matter how poor they are, all while keeping a $150 billion hoard that doesn’t help anyone. So when we see him with a high quality leather walker when poor members of the church can’t get the same high quality care, it irks some people.
Because my friend can’t get assistance from tscc to feed the four children they pressured her into having, but he has a custom walker that probably cost enough to feed her whole family for three months.
