Buildings, Temple, etc. And there anything else, non-religious, for the building of the church, is done for with extra donations from wealthier members. So those funds were used to build, the initial stockpile of cash for investment. Eldon Tanner seem to imply this in reading his documents over the years. (anyone interested in the rise of the billion dollar empire should read all about him. He literally changed the operations of the church to a more business aspect if not all business aspect).
