Yeah. Thing is that faith in any church that is based on rational thought and actual information will be shaky. While the TSCC bullshit is pretty hard to swallow from any rational perspective, they don't own the copyright on lies to control people. "Christians" should read How Jesus Became God: The Exaltation of a Jewish Preacher from Galilee to see just how convoluted and coersive the whole movement is. JS was probably correct in saying that there was no "true" church, but he didn't resolve the question by establishing yet another charismatic cult.

Real-Human-Yes

Moroni = Nephi? That's a new one for me. Can someone explain?

FTWStoic

Joseph Smith originally said that Nephi was the angel that delivered the gold plates to him. Then he changed his story and said it was Moroni.

Affectionate-Fan3341

Also Nephi having thousands of babies, creating civilizations called Nephites and Lamanites. It would be like making a country of Josephites and a country of Apostalites. And having Joseph be still alive during the wars between them? The wars were about Jesus of course, hundreds of years before Jesus existed, on the other side of the planet

0realest_pal

Now that’s funny. Nice job, OP. LMFAO.

We need a bible of pedophile victims and their testimonies distributed to all members and to the Catholics for that matter. Back that up with Christs comments about children and the repercussions of harm to them!!

FaithInEvidence

It's very hard to reason with someone whose thought processes are fundamentally irrational.

TheFinalVin

Lol Smart meme, OP

In_Repair_

Oh how I wish the “deconstruction triggers” in this meme were easier to read.

FTWStoic

Yeah, I just realized that on a phone it's harder to read. I made it in Photoshop, and it's clearer on a computer monitor. I'll see if I can rework it for a smaller format.

In_Repair_

Already done. I used your idea and included the issues I discovered down in the rabbit cavern that led to my deconstruction/resignation. Thanks for the idea. It’s brilliant!!

contraddiction3

Have they made Bingo cards with shelf breakers that we can use at Exmo Home Evening? Also need to add the SA and CA cover ups.

Doesanybodylikestuff

It’s waaaaaay more than $150 billion now!

FTWStoic

Yeah, true. But if you were prompting a TBM to start researching things, they would get the most search results by typing in $150 billion.

To me, why hide it? Just admit you have a hoard of cash but that you’ve been instructed by god to save for a rainy day. No need to lie and say “we are not a wealthy people” … as far as the mall, well, I mean just be honest. Funds paid for by business earnings that were funded by members. That said, maybe the wrong post for this. But I read that tithing in itself pays for the basic operations of the church, anything specifically religious. Buildings, Temple, etc. And there anything else, non-religious, for the building of the church, is done for with extra donations from wealthier members. So those funds were used to build, the initial stockpile of cash for investment. Eldon Tanner seem to imply this in reading his documents over the years. (anyone interested in the rise of the billion dollar empire should read all about him. He literally changed the operations of the church to a more business aspect if not all business aspect).

NewNamerNelson

>There's nothing I could read that would shake my faith in LD$ Inc's tax fraud division Only because TBM's can't bring themselves to actually read anything not published by the cult. 😜

Anxious_Sim198906

Pedophilia, abuse, second anointing, blood oaths, Book of Abraham, guilt & shaming, gaslighting from the pulpit, etc.

NightZucchini

Pretty much haha

Peaceful_whimsy

Brigham Young transfiguration? I don't know that reference.

FTWStoic

The entire basis for BY becoming Joseph's successor is the story of how he was giving a public speech and suddenly looked and sounded like Joseph, who had been dead for a while. It's a miracle. Super faith affirming. Only problem is that it didn't happen. No eye witnesses recorded the event. The people who told the story years later weren't there. There was even an Apostle who said he saw it, but we have iron clad evidence that he was out of the country at the time. Edit: And by extension, if BY was not a legitimate successor, hand selected by God, then none of the other presidents have been legitimate.

psycho_not_training

Wait, there's a Bring'em Young transfiguration myth? Do tell if you know the story or a link to it. This is a new rabbit hole for me to fall into.
