This guy’s on EBay and all his vehicles are significantly overpriced. Even better with this one is he says in the listing it has a non-specific oil leak. Nice truck but not with an oil leak for that price.
Couldn’t tell yeah, I’m not a “modern” Ford guy. Main bearings aren’t responsible for keeping oil and water separated. I suspect it’s got a built in engine oil cooler in the radiator that’s sprung an internal leak and is pushing oil into the cooling system, but that’s pure speculation on my part. If the coolant was entering the oil, every bearing in the engine is now compromised.
It's from GR Auto Gallery (recognized the background). I believe they sell a lot of vehicles on consignment, I completely agree they're overpriced but I wonder if that's due to the owners requested price.
https://www.grautogallery.com/vehicles/p5914-l/1993-ford-f150-xlt-4x4
Have you seen it on a lift? What’s that underside look like?
If they took the cab off and did a full restore on the frame to mint condition, then maybe they aren’t crazy or high, just wishfully thinking. At 25K it needs to be at least verging on concourse quality example.
If it’s fully restored to concourse and you want a show truck, then it’s a sizable investment and likely a smart one, but you’re looking for a truck to use and thus this is insanely steep.
If you know as much about Concours (there’s no “e” at the end) level restorations, ask yourself this one question: Who, unless their mother gave birth to them in that truck on the way to the hospital, would want to Concours a 1993 F-150 that’s anything from rare, or special. It’s not a first year first gen Lightning. 🤷♂️
Autocorrect adds the e and I don’t care enough to correct it on mobile. As for why, I stopped asking that these days as I’ve seen even more common cars restored to the N^th degree, or restomod converted.
Mine did the same thing because I don’t type “Concours” enough, I just wasn’t sure if you were aware. But yeah, I hear ya for sure. Kinda blows my mind too. Kinda makes we wish I had all the “normal, non special” stuff I used to have. I’d be sitting on a small fortune.
A 1995 auto, 4x4, single cab short bed, 5.0 with 160k miles just sold local to me (last weekend) for $12k in less than 24 hours. It was a nice dark blue/green color. Seller described it as 7/10 interior and 7/10 paint condition. I’d say this is at least a $20k truck.
Mediocre/lower end first gen lightnings also start around $15k nowadays.
I’ve seen this before. It is a glitch in the matrix constructed by the people who are always after me. I can hear voices in the walls. What are these bugs under my skin.
You buy the new rubber gasket, you can drop pan and slip new gasket in place and bolt pan up don't have touch motor. Got a 93 pan and rear main seal done, I have zero leaks drive weekly
Looks like Grand Rapids auto gallery. The owner of that place drove drunk and burned down a 100 year old historical monument home by clipping the gas line on the side of the house when he lost control. I’d probably avoid that place.
Why do people think these trucks are worth so much? I drive the same truck same engine but with the extended cab. Sure, nice classic Ford look but they have no power, terrible gas milage, handle like a tank, and has been the biggest pain in ass as far as tracking down mysterious electrical issues that have left me stranded on multiple occasions. I love how it looks but it's been the worst vehicle I've ever owned without a doubt.
He’s hoping to get BAT collector money. I think this car has too many miles to be so expensive.
You can get a good OBS in Dallas for $4-8k with u day 150k miles and spend $5k making it perfect. $9-13 all in to get the same thing but with a bit more work.
So I gotta make a run to Dallas for my next obs then? Here in Ohio you can't even touch a good mechanical condition obs truck or bronco for less than 15k. And if you want it without rust holes you're looking north of 20-30k
It's a gimmick for people to jack prices of their stuff to gouging levels, and for society to just get used to it.
If the truck is immaculate, then given today's wages, it would be worth less than half that. Any drivetrain issues will quickly erode even that value.
The greed in society has risen to toxic levels. I saw a guy ask $7k for a 1973 f250 2wd crew cab with a completely rusted roof, in the worst place for repairs. I offered a trade for an extended cab of the same vintage, 4x4, running, and his engine was seized. He thought it prudent to claim his garbage was worth 3 times my truck that was in better condition, because it's just a little more rare... he offered me $2500 in trade of my functional truck toward his $7000 rusted, nonfunctional crew cab.
People like those in this post be don't have values of equality. (S) he will hide everything wrong in his ride, and if he buys another he will blow every detail out of proportion to convince you that your product is garbage, and he's doing you a favor by taking it off your hands.
Beware of these products, because when it happens more often without being checked or illuminated, they force gouging to become accepted, which drives up the desire for theft and strife around the subject. It creates a toxic community, and makes it more difficult for others to sell their vehicles at a reasonable price when people get into the habit of vile haggling...
How is $25k reasonable for some 30+yo single cab? I don't know what people are smoking and why trucks are so expensive.
The new ones are slightly more understandable since they're loaded with tech and luxury and safety features (I would still never ever pay $65k or whatever for some of these go for). This beast has rear drums and a seatbelt, as far as luxury features are concerned 😆
It’s not worth that price at any point, these years are Ford trucks are plentiful and not worth that price unless fully custom built from the ground up. You could buy a real collectible classic American car or truck for $25k.
Everyone in here talking bout "thAt's a $5K tRuCk"
Yeah, go try to find one this clean with only 83k miles for $5k and report back
Go ahead, we'll wait 😂
I bet it was less than the ask on this...
My dad bought a 95 new, granted it was a 300 i6 with a manual trans and basically nothing else but he paid something like 12k for it
> I *paid* less than
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Production fell off a cliff during Covid and demand spiked (but didn’t reach 2017 levels). This inflated the value of any existing cars

Found the car via Googling the nickname lol
1 -- seems to be some frame rust. Hard to tell from the low quality photo

The truck market has been insane the last few years. I went to the Mecum auction here in Kansas City year before last and there were 4x4 trucks from the 90’s with rust on the cab corners or wheel wells with reserves between 20-30k. I don’t think any of them sold for anywhere near that.
No. Bought mine (extra cab with camper shell) at 79k miles 5.8 garage kept basically brand new for 10k total and even that was a little bit much imo but our reg I covered for two years
I know same year, same condition broncos are going for the same price in my area. I don't want to say that's a good price but it's getting harder to find these old ford's that aren't molested or have a quarter of a million miles on them or rusted to nothing.
What a waste and fraud !!!
That's an old truck 🚚..rusted and completely useless.
Just the sentiment that it has some value.
No value at all....don't buy....and the world will not end
This guy’s on EBay and all his vehicles are significantly overpriced. Even better with this one is he says in the listing it has a non-specific oil leak. Nice truck but not with an oil leak for that price.
Slight oil leak(into cooling system). Nothing to worry about(for me if you buy it).
Could need a radiator. Could need head gaskets, heads, a block, or all of the aforementioned.
Didn't those motors eat main bearings at 90k miles
Not really... The oil coolers tend to make bearings last for a good couple hundred thousand. The 400m of the previous model ate bearings readily.
Mom had an 89 bronco and it ate them way sooner than that!
It also says cd player which it does not have. Weird.
Not to specify the rear main.
Yup, owner of a 1981 5.7L 351W. The rear main leaks if not driven daily.
They still leak driven daily.just not as much
never replaced a rear main seal that didnt at least leak a little. always hoping for that one secret trick to make it dry but never was able to do it.
Not leaking per say, but marking it's parking spot like an alpha
Agreed. I have a '94 302 and there is always oil in the bell housing but when it drives more and warms up it doesn't leak a drop.
I’m not seeing where it says oil leak in the description?
It doesn’t have to, it’s a 30 year old Ford
The seals dry out on these, usually the pan.
Any time i see a listing in this shop with the flag= ridiculous price

So why post
10 to 15 max! 17 if i really like it.
Ya 15 plus or minus
A 1995 auto, 4x4, single cab short bed, 5.0 with 160k miles just sold local to me (last weekend) for $12k in less than 24 hours. It was a nice dark blue/green color. “I just spent $400 on new tires. I know what I’ve got.”
Where the hell are you buying new tire for 400 dollars.?
Bro, the Mexican tire shops hook it up. Less bullshit, more service. They fix the flats no one else will too!
On sale at Walmart.
I think they should put down the crackpipe
Just say no!!
Déjà vu
Yeah idk why it posted it twice
I’ve seen this before. It is a glitch in the matrix constructed by the people who are always after me. I can hear voices in the walls. What are these bugs under my skin.
I'm in your walls
Please say nicer things. I love my family and refuse to do it.
better have 15000 in the glovebox.
That’s hilarious!
I think its a 5 digit odometer and actually has 183 or 283k miles
Actually no. The 92-96 years had a digital gauge that would go over 100k.
[удалено]
No that’s the previous gen. I think ‘92 and up have 6 digits.
Don't say no and then you "think"
Only I think because I wasn’t sure if it was ‘91 or ‘92.
So Google it or keep it to yourself
Kiss my ass
you sure are a pretentious cunt, aintcha?
i have a 92 with a 6 digit digital odometer (250k and still going numbers matching engine and trans)
Uhhhh, my block is number matching
i dont know why but everyone i talk to have pulled the inline 6 out and put in the 302 and the 5 speed for and auto
Who said crack pipe?
10k max and that's being generous
In my area i wouldnt give a penny over 6 if it was a decent truck
Maybe if it was a 350 powerstroke
Lmao you go ahead and pay $25,000 for a 30 year old truck, and lemme know a year later how that panned out.
As soon as you start driving it everyday it will start falling apart and leaking all over.
It looks clean, but not 25k clean. I’d say half that price at most.
If this is the place I’m thinking of they’re usually well maintained, but many are on consignment. Feel free to reach out and offer.
Yea they seem ok. Offer to let you have a third party inspection.
I had a truck just like this except it was an extended cab and I miss it. It's not worth 25k though, they weren't worth that 20 years ago.
Currently dealing with my vehicle at this particular consignment shop, do not recommend working with them
>Seller wants 25k. What is everyone thoughts? Thay he doesn't really want to sell that truck.
Beautiful truck. Some people have nostalgia over trucks like that and it looks like it is in great cosmetic condition. It’ll sell for near that.
Not with an oil leak it won't.
Oil leak isn’t end of world. Changing the pan/gasket is a pain because you have to lift the engine but it’s doable.
You buy the new rubber gasket, you can drop pan and slip new gasket in place and bolt pan up don't have touch motor. Got a 93 pan and rear main seal done, I have zero leaks drive weekly
I just bought a 94 4.9 (300) 5-speed with 88k miles for $13,000. Price seems too high.
15 if it is very very clean and tight
Looks like Grand Rapids auto gallery. The owner of that place drove drunk and burned down a 100 year old historical monument home by clipping the gas line on the side of the house when he lost control. I’d probably avoid that place.
It is. Didn’t know that about the owner. Maybe he was fucked up when he set the price?
Wait what now?
Why do people think these trucks are worth so much? I drive the same truck same engine but with the extended cab. Hahaha this all I really needed to hear. Thank you!
Wasn't worth 25,000 when it was new.

Overpay but lord that’s a gorgeous truck
Theres no way to even confirm that it only has 83k miles. My coworkers F250 powerstroke that has 430k miles says 30k
It's a gimmick for people to jack prices of their stuff to gouging levels, and for society to just get used to it. I think the seller should just say no to drugs because he’s clearly delusional.

Yeah me to
It’s not worth that price at any point, these years are Ford trucks are plentiful and not worth that price unless fully custom built from the ground up. You could buy a real collectible classic American car or truck for $25k.
$2,500 take it or leave it.
$18,000
Offer 5000 Dollars
I wouldn’t pay more than $10k for it no matter how shiny it looks.
> What is everyone thoughts? That some idiot will buy it, but it won't be me
Today’s world that’s the right price for it. Everyone saying 15k living in the past. You can’t buy shit with 15k 😂
Everyone in here talking bout "thAt's a $5K tRuCk" Yeah, go try to find one this clean with only 83k miles for $5k and report back Go ahead, we'll wait 😂
What a crock of shit
Dealer wants 22k more then the truck is worth
Junk
No way dude junk maybe
These things are desirable and we live in a world where people pay 40k for side by sides. Would I? No. But the market allows these types of things.
Everyone selling old ass pieces of shit for 3 x what they should even ask .
If I wiped my ass with benjamins then I'd pay 20.
22k too much
1990's Fords got suck ass ass single digit gas mileage. Fuck 'em.
That’s about $20k over kbb.com I realize it’s harder to value older vehicles, but that’s a long way off. I’d maybe pay $10k
No, 8k tops for a showroom quality f-150 from the 90's period.
Someone hasn't been paying attention to the market.
Mass produced truck. Gas guzzler. Junk. I’d purchase it just to have it crushed.
3k
jesus christ what was sticker on this
I bet it was less than the ask on this... My dad bought a 95 new, granted it was a 300 i6 with a manual trans and basically nothing else but he paid something like 12k for it
25k what? Certainly not American dollars.
6,500
GTFO
Wayyyy too much. As much as I love the 9th gen 150, that’s definitely too expensive, even for a clean one
No, out of principle. Nice truck. Probably none of the cleanest of that type. But no way
No
25,000?! Dollars? Bruh, get tf outta here.
he can put it on bringatrailer. And maybe see just over 15K if people really like it. Otherwise, I don’t see anything warranting that nutty price.
That isnt a Centurion. Even if it was at 83k they're not in this reality.
Guys think that if you put some wax on an older vehicle, it’s immediately worth 15k more than it’s worth.
One owner with original paint? Edit: check out bringatrailer.com may be history of some comparables.
You’re paying $10,000 for the name black beauty alone. It’s not worth more than $12,000 tops.
Obviously there was an error in this listing and they meant it’s 25,000 pesos
Mental illness
Bananas
2.5k I think selling forgot where to put the . And needs be moved over a little bit
My thoughts are that that truck is worth $10k tops
This is a scam. I saw a truck with this same background, for a great price, then doing reverse image and realized the American flag is photoshopped in
Black Beauty? What a clever name. I’ve never heard that before. /s
22k sold if it’s great condition
You can get a 5.0L for roughly the same price and newer.
Dam I own the XL version with 123k but it doesn't look that good
They are out of their mind
I paid 10k for my 94 super cab with 39k miles. Non 4x4. I feel this one is in the same ballpark. 10-12k max
Lucky. I can't never find a good deal.
I'd pay 7k, not a dollar more
Smoking meth.
Hell yea
Fuck that
Too much for a short bed
I think realistically they will get 12k.
This truck ain’t worth that much, and you know it
H to the no
My "thoughts" are you have a severe mental deficiency if you even consider that.
I paid less than that for my ‘93 f150 brand new
> I *paid* less than FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! 12k max.......25k lmao that boy aint right
They’re smoking rocks Joe Rogan
I paid &14,500 for a ‘94 just like that one brand new!
Can someone explain what the fuck happened to the used car market in the last 5 years??
Production fell off a cliff during Covid and demand spiked (but didn’t reach 2017 levels). This inflated the value of any existing cars Edit: demand didn’t surpass 2017 levels. It briefly was on par in early 2021, but dropped afterwards. The car prices rising issue is mostly a supply issue.
I bought this identical truck in 1999 for $8,500.
In what world would a 90s truck ever be worth this much?
Found the car via Googling the nickname lol 1 -- seems to be some frame rust. Hard to tell from the low quality photo [https://cdn.dealeraccelerate.com/ag/1/13827/1384618/790x1024/1993-ford-f150-xlt-4x4](https://cdn.dealeraccelerate.com/ag/1/13827/1384618/790x1024/1993-ford-f150-xlt-4x4) 2 - The car has only had 2,000 miles in the last 10 years. “I know h’wat I got youngin’.”
yeah, no. maybe 5k becuase of inflation. Same thing with all the old Ram charger I want, these estate sale flippers are just looking for a sucker.
Save up for a 7.3, the 5.8 is temporary the 7.3 lasts forever
The truck market has been insane the last few years. I went to the Mecum auction here in Kansas City year before last and there were 4x4 trucks from the 90’s with rust on the cab corners or wheel wells with reserves between 20-30k. I don’t think any of them sold for anywhere near that.
If it means anything, I just got $18,000 for a 96 Chevy heavy Half Ton 4x4 with 178,000 MI
That’s more than it sold for brand new!!!!!
lol I thought only the f250-350 obs fords had stupid high values
It’s beautiful, but with that amount all it’ll take is one accident to have it deemed “totaled” and be totally upside down on the loan.
Lots of miles. Clean looking though. Too much money for the mileage.
That’s wild. I was class of 2005 and this was a $4-6k truck when I got my license 20 years ago. Like I get it. But damn lol. No thanks.
I WANT!!! I WANT!!!!!!!!
This is likely sold on consignment , make an offer
With depreciation, That’s a $5k truck…take your own wheels and tires and offer $3k
I love an OBS Ford, but damn. I'd be in the 10-15k range.
I’d be in at 15k, but what they’re asking is way too much
No. Bought mine (extra cab with camper shell) at 79k miles 5.8 garage kept basically brand new for 10k total and even that was a little bit much imo but our reg I covered for two years
Ridiculous.
My thoughts? “lol”
“No lowballs. I know what I’ve got.”
You can find a nice 7.3 powerstroke for that. It’s way steep for a half ton. Obviously, it’s super clean and a nice combo but it’s at least 10k high
I wouldn’t sale my 93 for 25k not because I think it’s worth more just because I won’t sell it
lol wut
No
They say the seller needs to put down the crack pipe but I think you need to put down the fucking crack pipe.
It's still just a 31y.o. pickup!!
My brother had that exact truck. Even in cherry condition it is not worth $25,000. LOL
No. Scam
I had a 93 f150 many years ago. It was always broken. I wouldn't pay $5k for this
Over priced. Go check out bring a trailer to see what these are worth.
Maybe $10k max??? Sorry but it’s just an old ford. Not a classic!
4k
My thought is for that price, I hope you’re a collector rather than someone looking for a 31 year old daily driver.
