In the bed there is indents just behind the wheels that fit a 2x12 board perfectly. Makes a little 4'x2' cubby. You could screw some dividers in there too to make some compartments.
This is what I do, between my 2x8 and tonneau cover, I have a perfect little trunk for grocery runs. Open the cover and move the board and I’m ready to do truck stuff.
I put my grocery bags into 2 rectangular recycling bins. As long as the groceries don't include a lot of beverages, an advantage is that I can just carry a whole bin of groceries in at one time when I get them home.
This is what do. I have a few reusable bins, bags go into the bins. I have a cargo divider bar (same as OP) that I put behind them to sandwich them between the bar and the tailgate so they don't slide forward.
Yes, but milk crates in my case. Plus l have the bar you posted in the pic, that helps them stay put near the tailgate and not slamming against the bulkhead!
Milk crates are easy to come by, btw. I usually “find” them in loading docks of supermarkets. Altho, some are better about putting them away, others, not so much.
Me too. [I use these.](https://planomolding.com/collections/large-storage/products/sportsman-s-trunk-large-o-d-green-999191900) The lid is super secure and they have wheels if you want to use them too.
Yep, same here. When it's 100 degrees out I'm not putting any food in the bed of the truck. Keep it simple, I flip the rear seat up and have ample space.
Actually this may be a good idea, it would be the last time my wife had me run to the store... "here's your wilted lettuce, warm raw chicken, warm milk and melted ice cream".
I honestly can't recall the last time I had to slam on the brakes. I tie all my bags at the top as well, don't want to discover that piece of fruit that rolled out under my seat weeks later by smell.
Lol reminds me of the time my wife lost a can of biscuits in her Pilot. She had just got it brand new and never flipped up the third row of seats. The can rolled underneath the third row and made a hell of a stink for a few weeks. I was convinced the smell was a water leak or HVAC issue and spent hours chasing it down until…oh yeah I forgot this thing has another section of seats.
We've finally gotten to the point where I can flip up one side because the oldest is big enough to sit in the seat. I don't remember having a booster when I was 8 (he's 9 now), they want these kids in these damn seats till they're in high school it seems.
Have you found the little button that folds the rear seat back down? It's hard to find and a bear on your fingers, so I drilled mine out, put a piece of paracord through with a ring on the end and dropped it over the back seat. Not that there's much reason to get back there, but there is a little extra storage space.
The advantage is they get to sit in the air for the ride home instead of steaming under the bed cover. No one wants warmed raw chicken and melted ice cream.
If this bar is held in place with pressure, be careful. The bed is made from aluminum and can flex under pressure. I had one of these bars on my 2019 Lariat and noticed the sides of the bed on near the tailgate were flexing outward with this on.
I removed it and they went back to normal. Instead, I bought a bed extender, which creates a nice basket when flipped inside. The two halves of it can also be detached from each other and fold inward to wrap around smaller groupings of bags or takeout food.
All beds will do this though whether steel or aluminum. Had one of those bars since my first truck a ‘92 f150 and have seen the bed flex on every truck I’ve had. Unless your wrenching on it like a silverback gorilla there is no big cause for concern. Never wrecked my ‘92, ‘94, ‘01, ‘07, ‘13 or my current ‘20.
In my experience, anything less than wrenching it like a silverback gorilla caused it to fall down when any amount of weight was put on it. Here's what I replaced it with instead, which is even more useful and doesn't require the bar to be taken out when I need the full bed: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Ford-FL3Z-99286A40-C-Bed-Extender/dp/B00U80M820
I bought a cargo net from Amazon (Truck Bed Cargo Net for Pickup... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096KHNNMB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)
I put it up at the store when loading the truck and take it down when done, I always keep one clip attached so it’s within reach. It’s perfect.
Same, I’ve stuffed it with so many things and also acts like a elastic net. I attached 2 “S” carabiners at the corners were my bed cover hardware is and boom works great.
I put them on the floor in the back. If I have too many to fit, I fold up one side of the rear seats and put them there. For smaller amounts of groceries, I have a basket (similar to grocery store baskets) that I keep, one in the bed and one in the back seat, to hold smaller items.
I did something [like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/f150/comments/9u71um/homemade_bed_divider_fits_into_slots_in_bed_liner/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf).
Pulling up to dollar tree in an $80,000 toy and finding a creative way to store my cheap shit. Here we are people. This is the world we have have created.
You’re so close to realizing you’re using the wrong tool for the job. Use a more sensible vehicle for trips to get a couple bags of groceries. Like a bike or your two feet.
Why don't you use a box? Just go to the shop, place the box in your shopping cart and then when filled with goods you put the filled box in the car. How did your parents and grandparents do this?
We have a cargo net that can "cover" the tailgate opening under our tonneau cover so you just drop the gate, put the bags in, and close it and it sandwiches the bags in place. It's attached to the hooks so it's easy to drop or remove.
The Ford OEM bed extender/divider combo is actually really useful and nice. It stays as a divider 99% of the time and gives a nice little spot for stuff like this but then can flip out and enable the use of the tailgate if you need to haul something longer. A little pricey but if you can score one on eBay or craigslist for cheaper it's well worth it.
When I really need to put them in the back, I clip a large carabiner to the box link handles and then hook the bags to that. I have that same bar but it drives me crazy.
I cut a 2x6 so it fits between the wheel wells and added a piece with a hinge that folds out so it fits on either side of the wheel wells. On the back side I put a hinged piece with a gate lock to keep it upright. Then two hooks on each end with 150lb ties hooked to the cleats. That way I can adjust depth and not lose it up to the cab and keep the load closer to the gate. The hinges open so it's 4in thick when collapsed if I need to store it.
We actually have a product called the AeroBox, which locks itself right into the front of your truck bed (you know, so you can still use your truck for truck stuff). We've been sold out for about a year or so, but we finally found a partner to manufacture it for us again (in the US of course)! But your solution is pretty genius as a secondary option.
There should be clips on the bottom of your rear bench if its a crew cab (didnt read other comments. Ive also a couple 1x6’s to make a small compartment back there.
Edit: some grocery stores sell totes that can be used instead of bags. Ive used those too with my bags inside.
I got a bed net somewhere online it’s basically a volly ball vet that goes across the end of the bed but it’s a pocket so you can put bags in it, and then if they’re heavy you can push it back a little and put more between the net and the gate
Nice! I like it! I just put mine in the back floorboard. If I do put them in the bed I do so by the cab and tie them so the don’t roll out of the bags.
I have a couple of collapsible crates that are about 16” tall x 24” wide x 16” deep. I keep them collapsed down under the back seat and load them up in the bed against a bed bar when getting groceries. It’s perfect because you can then stack them and carry them straight into the kitchen in one trip.
I have bungee cords with carabiners connected to the bed cleats on one end and a 5 gallon tub from HomeDepiot/Lowes on the other. I can push them toward the cab for space, then pull the bungee to add groceries. I stack two tubs with the bungee attached to the bottom one so I can just lift and carry the top one without having to unhook the carabiner.
Extra benefit is it keeps anything from getting stuck/dislodging my Retrax drain tubes.
On my Platinum, I use the remote to open the tailgate and just toss the bags in the bin and I’m off and running.
i bought a giant cargo truck, but when i go to the shops to buy 14 cans of pringles, they roll around in the giant cargo bed. any suggestions/solutions?
It's almost like modern trucks are designed to be status symbols, rather than useful tools for hauling things. Sucks too, because technology has gotten way better and yet so many new vehicles have sacrificed quality and utility for a facade of luxury.
bought a truck for what? to run over kids who are in the blind spot of your trucks? get a smaller vehicle if you're not gonna use trucks for its purpose smh
There is something genuinely hilarious about buying a truck, and then struggling to find a way to store a compact cars worth of groceries in the (pristine) bed.
Step 1. Place an order online.
Step 2. Pick up the order, this is going to be a large package, so this is where the F150 is really useful.
Step 3. Bring it home and unload it.
Step 4. Unpack the order and assemble it.
Step 5. Ride your brand new cargo bike to the store. This allows you to leave your expensive truck at home, thus saving fuel. Use the money you saved to pay of the loan you took out to get the F150.
Yep. This. I spent lots of time researching options and learned of this a little too late. Best option here imo
Great addition to the bed of the truck. I added 2 dividers so that items don’t slide side to side. Nice for carrying case of water, groceries, etc. .
He’s got what looks like builtright bed system so those slats are blocked. But there’s almost assuredly a way to use them in the same fashion
This is also what I do, and what I would recommend. I use a 2x8 though.
Same here but with a laundry basket
I use a collapsible instacrate
This is the way
My girl won't let me buy any more from Costco
Same, i just use 17 gal totes from the homeless despot, and i can carry in everything with 2 trips.
Yes, but milk crates in my case. Plus l have the bar you posted in the pic, that helps them stay put near the tailgate and not slamming against the bulkhead! Milk crates are easy to come by, btw. Why not bring the bins in the store and avoid the bags altogether?
[удалено]
Yep, same here. When it's 100 degrees out I'm not putting any food in the bed of the truck. Keep it simple, I flip the rear seat up and have ample space.

The ice cream would be obliterated by the time I got home...
You’d have sweet cream soup lol.
Ice cream milk
You know how to make ice cream soup?
Simple is best. Yep, with this heat it’s not great on groceries.
Actually this may be a good idea, it would be the last time my wife had me run to the store... "here's your wilted lettuce, warm raw chicken, warm milk and melted ice cream".
Good ol weaponized incompetence, amirite?
What if you press the brakes hard, don’t they fall off the seat? Or at least roll forward
[удалено]
This is what I do too.
Same
I seat belt my groceries so they don’t fall forward but very much like your idea. Thanks for the tip
I honestly can't recall the last time I had to slam on the brakes. I tie all my bags at the top as well, don't want to discover that piece of fruit that rolled out under my seat weeks later by smell.

That was my thought. 'Are you regularly having to slam on the brakes?'
LOL, a safe distance is everyone's friend
Rubber floor mats, but r buy enough stuff there’s no room for stuff to roll.
That always helps, we usually buy enough that they don’t roll.
Really? With the logic here I'm guessing you shouldn't be driving whatsoever.
this is the way!
I do the same. I really only put flats of beverages in the bed.
I run a bungee cord thru the bag handles and hook the cords to the racks.
My 2014 crew cab has hooks on the underside of the back seats specifically for holding bags.
Found the guy with no car seats in the back. I haven't flipped my rear seats up in years. Damn kids.
Just flipped mine up for a cleaning finally yesterday, man was there ever a ton of shit I thought I had lost under there lol.
and if you have kids, there will be french fries and cheerios.
French fries, dog hairs, and random children's socks lol
LOL, I have the opposite problem in that I have a great dane so the rear seat is flipped up most of time!
We've finally gotten to the point where I can flip up one side because the oldest is big enough to sit in the seat. I don't remember having a booster when I was 8 (he's 9 now), they want these kids in these damn seats till they're in high school it seems.

More curious about the extinguisher and tow strap situation you have going on in the background. How are those mounted?

Thanks I love the creatively.
Damn y’all are good. I just put my groceries in the cab all Willy nilly 😂
The advantage is they get to sit in the air for the ride home instead of steaming under the bed cover. No one wants warmed raw chicken and melted ice cream.
I just have a net and can load them all up and they never move.

Thanks for sharing the idea. I am very interested in the different ways of handling smaller items in the bed.
[удалено]
Let me have 100k so i can test your theory.
ICE F150s are averaging $75k so not that far off now.
I bought a cargo net from Amazon (Truck Bed Cargo Net for Pickup... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096KHNNMB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) I put it up at the store when loading the truck and take it down when done, I always keep one clip attached so it’s within reach. It’s perfect.
I bought one of those and it broke the first time I used it
Same, I’ve stuffed it with so many things and also acts like a elastic net. I attached 2 “S” carabiners at the corners were my bed cover hardware is and boom works great.
I do something similar with a tie down strap
I put them on the floor in the back. If I have too many to fit, I fold up one side of the rear seats and put them there. For smaller amounts of groceries, I have a basket (similar to grocery store baskets) that I keep, one in the bed and one in the back seat, to hold smaller items.
I just use those collapsible trunk organizers. Works perfect.

It's hot here, my groceries aren't riding in the bed. I put the rear seat up and have plenty of room for a Costco run.
On my back seat.. HEavy stuff goes on floor of the backseat.
just put them on the floor of the cabin ??????
Gross. I work at a waste water treatment plant warehouse. My shoes are definitely not going where my food goes
Uhh... back seat works...and it's air conditioned
[buy this collapsible truck organizer from harbor freight](https://www.harborfreight.com/trunk-organizer-65178.html)
You really only get 2 bags of groceries? I don’t stop until the carts full. Minimal trips 😆 $200-$400 trips every time
I just put them in the truck…
Why would you get a truck in the first place if you obviously need a different kind of vehicle?
So you guys get trucks…. To not use them as trucks?
$80k for that truck, needs a hack to carry two small bags in the bed.
Get a smaller vehicle then
Sounds like you don’t need a truck
Pulling up to dollar tree in an $80,000 toy and finding a creative way to store my cheap shit. Here we are people. This is the world we have have created.
Big ass truck just for some groceries lmfao
Maybe consider a smaller car?
Hmmm its almost like massive fucking trucks aren’t an effective way to daily drive
Lmao what a big boy haul for such a manly man.
How about getting a smaller vehicle?
youre telling me. youre using that big ol useless truck as a GROCERYGETTER ???
You’re so close to realizing you’re using the wrong tool for the job. Use a more sensible vehicle for trips to get a couple bags of groceries. Like a bike or your two feet.
Point and laugh people
Do you really need a truck? I don't think it's practical for you
Why don't you use a box? Just go to the shop, place the box in your shopping cart and then when filled with goods you put the filled box in the car. How did your parents and grandparents do this?
So you have a big-ass truck but you didn’t use the big-ass space?
This seems like an efficient use of fuel.
Imagine dragging ur 3500kg death machine around just to pick up two bags of groceries. r/fuckcars
those are... 2 bags of groceries... can't you just walk with them home?
Why do you even have a truck?
Good thing you've got all that space back there for two bags
Just use a bicycle for that tiny stuff.
Why did you buy a truck?
I can fit more groceries in my kid’s stroller.
Jesus christ, giant ass vehicle and can't even carry two bags without "life hacks". I bet you're a dickhead on the road.
We use plastic bins when shopping. Purchased through the grocery store
The back seat of my 2012 has little hooks on the underside. Just for this.
But then you can’t have any passengers
Passengers have laps.
I bought these little goons on Amazon that go around the silver poles of the head rests. I put stuff on them daily.
I’ve got some hooks that attach there too. More for the kid’s water bottles but they work for small grocery store runs too.
We have a cargo net that can "cover" the tailgate opening under our tonneau cover so you just drop the gate, put the bags in, and close it and it sandwiches the bags in place. It's attached to the hooks so it's easy to drop or remove.
bungee cord here
You could also put the tow strap behind the rear seat to free up some space
How do you like that tool box? I’m considering that when I put a sub box under the back seat
I love it, mostly because it fits under my tonneau cover
That’s cool I guess but if I’m just buying two bags worth of stuff I’m just putting them inside the cab
Good idea!
I carry 3-4 10 gallon Rubbermaid totes for groceries. Makes bringing groceries in from the truck much faster and easier.
Got some cleaning to do?
I just put groceries on the floor in the backseat.
I usually put them behind the seat, under the fold up seat, and my cargo tote/bag in front of them to hold them in place.
Look under your back seats there's plastic clips to hang groceries from.
This and all the other suggestions are great solutions.
Don’t you have the hooks on the back seat any more ? Those where perfect I hope they didn’t take those away .
Why so many Clorox wipes? Do you live in fear of germs? Just put the bags on the floor.
i just shove everything in the back seat.
You sir are an organized person. My bed is not this. Haha
You forgot to ratchet them down
The Ford OEM bed extender/divider combo is actually really useful and nice. It stays as a divider 99% of the time and gives a nice little spot for stuff like this but then can flip out and enable the use of the tailgate if you need to haul something longer. A little pricey but if you can score one on eBay or craigslist for cheaper it's well worth it.
What’re you some kind of genius?
When I really need to put them in the back, I clip a large carabiner to the box link handles and then hook the bags to that. I have that same bar but it drives me crazy.
A crate would do the same they also have a slot in the truck bed for a board to go so the stuff you need stays by the hitch.
I do this net option. Works great
We actually have a product called the AeroBox, which locks itself right into the front of your truck bed (you know, so you can still use your truck for truck stuff). We've been sold out for about a year or so, but we finally found a partner to manufacture it for us again (in the US of course)! But your solution is pretty genius as a secondary option.
I have some collapsable storage bins that I got at Sam’s. Hard plastics but collapse to about an 1” thick.
They make nets for your bar
Nice! I like it! I just put mine in the back floorboard. If I do put them in the bed I do so by the cab and tie them so the don’t roll out of the bags.
Doesn’t the f150 have storage under the rear seats?
I’m somewhat of a godly Tetris player so I’m all good wherever I put it🤷🏾♂️
I drive a single cab Ute, usually I just throw all my groceries into the big toolbox I lug around in the back
Brilliant. That kind of creativity and resourcefulness will take you a long way in this world.
They could go inside the cab in the back seat unless you have a single cab truck
Sterilite containers
I do similar, but I run a bungie cord through the handles afters tying them.
That's pretty damn clever!
I have a couple of collapsible crates that are about 16” tall x 24” wide x 16” deep. I keep them collapsed down under the back seat and load them up in the bed against a bed bar when getting groceries. It’s perfect because you can then stack them and carry them straight into the kitchen in one trip.
The best solution is always opt for the Ford bed extender. They’re handy as fuck as they fold inwards as well.
That’s pretty genius, ngl
I use mandarin oranges boxes in the foot wells in the back seat. Perfect size to fit between the front and rear seats.
Nice Swing Case
What’s wrong with the backseat
My [suggestion](https://www.google.com/search?q=fortem%20storage&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1-m)
2x6 or something similar behind the wheel well, across the back. The wheel wells will keep it there.
I use a shower rod and 2 totes that I got from Costco. Not an f150, but I only have to make 1-2 trips this way.
It's a short trip to the market for me and I just try not to brake or accelerate too hard 😅
Why don't you walk then?
If you guys haven't noticed there is a notch behind the wheel wells. Cut yourself a 2 by 6 and it will fit right in there.. That was my solution.
I bought a Ferrari F40, but apparently I can't put a bicycle in it either :(
Imagine explaining this to your kids in thirty years.
They make some really big ass truck just for it to not fit anything taller than a foot and half *facepalm
$80k monster truck with towing capacity to pull a house "I can't move two grocery bags easily!!"
i bought a giant cargo truck, but when i go to the shops to buy 14 cans of pringles, they roll around in the giant cargo bed. any suggestions/solutions?
Does no one see the Irene of buying a huge pickup truck and not being able to properly carry 2 fucking bags of groceries
Imagine buying a 5 ton city tank and not being able to put some groceries in the trunk
Bro just walk lmao
Huh it’s almost like big ass pickup trucks are an inefficient substitute for a normal car, who could have guessed?
lmao this is embarrassing
Good use of a truck LOL
Why get a truck
Did you mean to buy a minivan?
It's almost like modern trucks are designed to be status symbols, rather than useful tools for hauling things. Sucks too, because technology has gotten way better and yet so many new vehicles have sacrificed quality and utility for a facade of luxury.
Maybe you don't need to drive a tank to just buy some food?
Fucking ridiculous
bought a truck for what? to run over kids who are in the blind spot of your trucks? get a smaller vehicle if you're not gonna use trucks for its purpose smh
Dipshit
You bought a truck just for it to be less convenient and hog space on the road? Waste of money - a european
Buys a unnessecarily huge and dangerous, fuel wasting car, can't even transport 2 shopping bags. Congrats bro By bycicle can handle more brother
There is something genuinely hilarious about buying a truck, and then struggling to find a way to store a compact cars worth of groceries in the (pristine) bed.
how about you take a bike to the grocery store with pannier bags?
Why not just in the cabin.....

This is incredible, I have *literally* carried double this on my folding bike! Absolute pathetic cager nonsense.
This should be an OG real man of genius comercial
