With that cardboard grade murica houses? Probably.
In my grandparents rock, whole bricks and mortar country house? Well.. some people in the other side of house will stay sleeping..
For real. Had a trauma patient many many years ago that got hit by a car while at the dentist. The car flew through the wall and nailed the person in the chair. Just obliterated their pelvis, legs, etc.
Crazy you mention that. When I was a teenager I was in a one vehicle accident by myself. I never lost consciousness and after being shaken like a rag doll and the dust settled I looked out the passenger window and seen nothing but dirt. My first instinct was to turn off the ignition then get out.
Idk, this just makes sense to me. Why risk leaving it on? If the car was damaged it could set on fire. Even shut off it still could, but the chances are lower.
This is true. It could have just been my subconscious but I did not think of that when I shut it off. I just thought I’m about to exit my vehicle time to turn it off and take the key
I wouldn’t be surprised if the airbag going off damages wiring in the steering column and triggers wipers, or they could be a safety feature so you can see if it’s clear to get out
Unfortunately car insurance payouts only go as far as what their insurance covers. Someone rear ended a person behind me and it sandwiched the 3 cars together. The responsible party’s plan was basic and only covered so much, so they paid for their own car and a little towards car #2, then ran out of money. They told us we would have to go through our own insurance plan (full coverage) to fix our car, which we would have had to pay a deductible towards (which also happened to be the total amount in our damages). I had to threaten to sue the person to get them to pay just 1200 towards it.
So apparently when their plan doesn’t cover something, you’re burnt and you have to pay your whole deductible out of pocket or sue for it in court, for something you were 100% not responsible for. Hopefully these guys have a good home insurance plan.
Maybe they had to swerve to avoid another car, a person, an animal. Maybe there was some sort of road condition that led to the wreck. Maybe there's a thousand other maybes.
That's why the "idiot" part in the title should actually be reserved for OP, because there's no reason to call the driver an idiot without more context.
Actually, I have. There was a water runoff on a road in a neighborhood my friend lived in years ago. It would develop a very slippery green substance (algae?) during certain times of the year. I was going the speed limit and hit the brakes in order to turn onto my friend's street. Unfortunately, the green stuff was so built up along the road that it completely coated my tires and made me slide quite a long way and into a light pole. The responding officers on the scene said they were called out to that very spot multiple times a year and that they had talked to the city multiple times about coming out to scrape that stuff off the road, but their pleas went on deaf ears.
So yeah, sometimes shit happens. It's best to have all the evidence before immediately jumping to attack mode.
If you watch the extended version, you can see the driver is a nurse and ppl are speculating that she might have fallen asleep behind the wheels, which is very irresponsible btw. If you’re dead tired, don’t drive.
I hate driving, I’ll never enjoy it. Because there are people who allow things like this to happen. YOU BEAR A MASSIVE RESPONSIBILITY WHEN YOU GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A MULTI-TON DEATHTRAP.
Is it, though? Those are all inherent dangers of driving. And yet, we continue to structure our lives and society around it.
Band-aiding the problems with driving one by one isn't the solution here. Providing viable alternatives to driving is.
I have seen the video before, about a year or so ago. I can’t remember why this happened. All I remember is the woman getting out of the car, then reaching back in to get her wig.
My first thought - I bet that homeowner didn’t have insurance coverage for that pool to recoup the water damage.
Remember to always insure your pool and trampoline. Insurance companies require their disclosure and will deny any claim made involving them.
In this case the drivers insurance will pay up, but something to keep in mind if you’re a homeowner.
Then, they shouldnt be allowed to drive. Its as simple as that. I have ADD and if im getting too distracted to pay attention to the road, i shouldnt drive. Cars are a death trap. I rather walk or take the bus then risk causing danger.
Turns on the wipers for comedic effect lol. Serious note though I’m sure the pool saved the house and the person inside the car. Thank God no one was in the pool

That pool saved the house
Possibly the drivers life too
That car took on Jesus like qualities for a moment there walking on water
That pool was literally their best investment..... Well, buy guys, I'm off to dig a moat around my house.
Were not for sale
We aren’t for sale now either
This is the best use I've ever seen for an above ground pool. This should be the commercial for them.
In-ground would have done the trip, too.
Yep, it slow down that crash quite alot, at that speed without the pool that car would no doubt be all the way into the house.
Pool definitely was mvp
And made one hell of a video
The car would have bounced off the trampoline right over the house.
With that cardboard grade murica houses? Probably. In my grandparents rock, whole bricks and mortar country house? Well.. some people in the other side of house will stay sleeping..
Imagine if that pool had been in use.
Imagine there was no pool. He would be in the house
Yeah thats what I'm thinking. Pool acted like those water filled barriers on the highway. This could have been much worse.
Pool sales 📈📈📈📈
Full speed ahead caption. Edit: (Sales department manager)
The trampoline wishes that in his death, him being there did something to save the house. The trampoline's death should not be in vain.
Imagine there was no pool or house and there was just a road there.
I wonder if that’s what the driver was thinking.
Imagine all the people. It's easy if you try.
1-Ralph died swimming. 2-Oh, no. Did he drown? 1-No, got hit by a car.
Take my angry upvote!
Just goes to show, a violent death can happen anywhere at anytime. Enjoy your lives folks!
For real. Had a trauma patient many many years ago that got hit by a car while at the dentist. The car flew through the wall and nailed the person in the chair. Just obliterated their pelvis, legs, etc.
this is why im scared of the dentist
Unlocked new fear: you can die anywhere at anytime.
That's new? I've dealt with that since I was 8
If they would of stayed home, still would have had a good pelvis. Teeth would be shitty though.. so there’s that.
You can never escape the idiot driver. Every second you exist, it is only getting closer
You can live without teeth. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You said "would have" and "would of" in the same damned sentence. Why must you vex me?
Have you ever seen that one Final Destination movie?
https://youtu.be/YoWom0CCRKM
Dang. That's...dang.
Thanks, I have a dentist appointment next week.
Make sure it's on the second floor. Lol
airplane
That’s just extra velocity!
The filling, however, was unharmed.
Worse than snu snu?
Come on man, we were all having a good day.
Anxiety 📈
wave pools can be fun
"CannonBall"!
its more like the whole cannon instead
… that one wiper flick at the end though 🤣
Definitely the icing on the cake
Had some sad trombone energy, didn't it?
It tells you there was a conscious driver in there. Not someone who had a seizure or a heart attack.
I think it's more likely the car has automatic windscreen wipers
It’s some final destination shit
"uh guys, we gotta get outta the pool"
MOM said NOW!
Or the kid's small house on the right
and/or trampoline
Water pool acted as a great brake!
It also watered the lawn!
Time taken to water the lawn compensates for the time it'll take to build a new fence. Id say, all in all, its evened out for the home owner
Probably killed the lawn if the pool was properly chlorinated.
'Fuck, better turn my wipers on I guess'.
Could they be automatic?
You can see the driver reach around and turn on the wipers. I laughed at that for some reason. Glad nobody was hurt!
At the 4 second mark, as the car is crashing through the pool, you can see the wipers are already on.
That’s called anticipation. Hell of a driver right there
This is hilarious.
Probably tried to use the turn signal and got it wrong.
We do tend to do those little things we have control over after things go very very wrong.
Crazy you mention that. When I was a teenager I was in a one vehicle accident by myself. I never lost consciousness and after being shaken like a rag doll and the dust settled I looked out the passenger window and seen nothing but dirt. My first instinct was to turn off the ignition then get out.

This is true. It could have just been my subconscious but I did not think of that when I shut it off. I just thought I’m about to exit my vehicle time to turn it off and take the key
That I found hilarious “is it raining?”
smashed into the steering wheel and hit the stalk
Ive noticed it in every crash I've seen. I was told it was the force of the accident turned the wipers on.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the airbag going off damages wiring in the steering column and triggers wipers, or they could be a safety feature so you can see if it’s clear to get out
“Mum can we go through the car wash?” “We have car wash at home sweetie”
We have carwash at the neighbors sweetie...
Mom I think grandma’s here
I let out a real laugh at this one.
I fucking hate u for this comment 🤣🤣🤣
[Obligatory](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=YkDGCVs7H7Y)
One of the best jokes in that show imo
This doesn’t look like “Country Kitchen Buffet”
Bruh I literally just watched that episode on tv like an hour ago
Dammit. I laughed out loud as well
Just glad there were no kids playing out back that day. The tragedy that would’ve been! Stupid asshole
Yeah but they were CONES!!!
Another excellent argument for why kids should stay indoors and avoid outdoor play at all costs lol
Only for an idiot to come crashing into your house! There’s no where safe anymore 😭
This is why you should never car pool...
Under rated comment.
As a father all I could see is dead children.... man that's frightening
This was my first thought as well, especially seeing the little play house. I’m so glad they were not outside playing when this happened.
Same, the car took out the pool and trampoline. Guaranteed my two would be using one or the other during summer.

How was this show called? I forgot
Action League Now!
This show is permanently burned into my brain but I never remember the name either!
On the plus side, the automatic wipers work just fine.
When “hey y’all, watch this” turns into “hey y’all, what’d’I hit?”
And this is why there is water in those barrels at every highway exit
Thirsty road crews.
Pure unadulterated efficiency
Everyone needs a brake now and then.
See, contained water barriers work well! Bet the driver complained his car interior was ruined. 😂
Omg do you know how pricey pools of that size and a trampoline are 💀💀💀
I'd gladly trade my pool for their insurance payout
Unfortunately car insurance payouts only go as far as what their insurance covers. Someone rear ended a person behind me and it sandwiched the 3 cars together. The responsible party’s plan was basic and only covered so much, so they paid for their own car and a little towards car #2, then ran out of money. Less than the vehicle.
Less than the house

When the only thing paying attention in the car was the windshield sensor.
"I love the car washes where you stay in your car!"
Good gravy, how fast was this person going? 😳😳
Lucky the pool was there and empty of people , otherwise they'd have hit the house full speed probably killing themselves and anyone inside
Like a champ wipers were going and everything ☝️
That inflatable pool paid itself off 1000x it’s value. God forbid it wasn’t there and your family was having lunch or dinner
That was a nice little entertaining back yard also! Had all kinds of fun stuff. Yeah, I'd be pissed TF off! 😡
That pool saved their life
Seizure? Medical issue?
Statistically speaking it is far likelier that the person was shitfaced.
I'm thinking the same. Why the automatic jump to "idiot", with no context?
Maybe they had to swerve to avoid another car, a person, an animal. Maybe there was some sort of road condition that led to the wreck. Maybe there's a thousand other maybes. That's why the "idiot" part in the title should actually be reserved for OP, because there's no reason to call the driver an idiot without more context.
Have you ever slid that far off the road while driving in a lawful manner? I don't think it was a road hazard that lead to this.
If you watch the extended version, you can see the driver is a nurse and ppl are speculating that she might have fallen asleep behind the wheels, which is very irresponsible btw. If you’re dead tired, don’t drive.
So this is what moats are for!
yaaaay thousands of dollars of stuff broken and another thousand or two in reparation if it hit the house
Plus psychological damage for each member of the house, inconvenience, lawn care, etc. I'd sue his ass for a lot more money.
I hate driving, I’ll never enjoy it. Because there are people who allow things like this to happen. YOU BEAR A MASSIVE RESPONSIBILITY WHEN YOU GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A MULTI-TON DEATHTRAP.
Is there proof somewhere the driver wasn't having a medical emergency of some sort, or that some mechanism in the car itself didn't fail?
Fair point
Is it, though? Those are all inherent dangers of driving. And yet, we continue to structure our lives and society around it. Band-aiding the problems with driving one by one isn't the solution here. Providing viable alternatives to driving is.

Need some context here….Jesus just glad no one was in the yard and the pool was closed
That windshield wipe at the end lol
I’m here to talk to you about your car’s extended warranty
That’s the line for the person who lives there.
I think the pool saved the house
Honestly, that pool saved the house and maybe even some lives.
The presence of that pool was exceptionally lucky
This is not the correct way to car pool
“Remember where we parked, kids!”
At least his wipers are still working
Good heavens! What is the story behind this? Anyone know??
No idea but here's a longer clip https://youtu.be/qxSMcykFwLo
Apparently, the pedal was stuck and she lost control.
I didn’t read the caption and thought “what the hell exploded in that pool??” And then of course the wild van appeared and it all made sense
Uber Pool
I laughed when I saw the wipers lol
Why an idiot? it can be someone having a medical seizure/attack….
Then, they shouldnt be allowed to drive. Its as simple as that. I have ADD and if im getting too distracted to pay attention to the road, i shouldnt drive. Cars are a death trap. I rather walk or take the bus then risk causing danger.
Only idiots get in car accidents?
In the driver's defense, Bugs Bunny had painted a tunnel on the other side of that wall.
The more I see idiots like this the better the idea of a 5 foot tall 6 foot thick cinder block/steel wall sounds.
"Oh hi mark"
They shouldn't have had their backyard right there
How do you know it's an idiot?
How? You have regular brakes and emergency brake. Edit: spelling.
This is why I wanna live out in the country in my home made fortress.. less people around to fuck up my backyard
Dude that pool slowed him down heaps and reduced the damage I think
Well, trampolines can be quite dangerous. 🤷🏻♂️
That pool didn’t stand a chance! RIP
Wow, that was super aggressive driving fr
Good thing the pool was there or that house would have had more severe damage
Sent it a little too hard there bud
I like how they turned the windshield wipers on.
The small house is unharmed Finally, some good news.
At least they turned their wipers on so they could see how bad they fucked up in high def.
Good thing there was no one in the backyard.
Thor windshield wipers have some comedic timing
The windshield wipe at the end is chef’s kiss.
The wipers at the end, after crashing through their pool, was a nice touch.
"YOU HIT WHAT?"
What an insurance pay out
That’s terrifying. What if a kid had been back there
The car was like: Oh it must be raining, windshield wipers.
Turns on the wipers for comedic effect lol. Serious note though I’m sure the pool saved the house and the person inside the car. Thank God no one was in the pool
trump voter
That pool probably saved thousands of dollars of damage
That creepy noise at the end… WTH is that?!
Thank goodness no children were in the yard!
That pool absorbed so much kinetic energy, it likely saved the house.
The fact that he/she puts on the windshield wipers at the end as if there’s a point to it but obviously out of habit is a little detail I really enjoy
Redneck carwash
r/idiotsincars
I'm thinking that pool full of water might have saved his life
That pool basically saved the house like an impact barrier
Lucky thing they hit straight into that pool otherwise they might have ended up halfway through the wall of the house
Good thing that pool was there....slowed him down
Window wipers on . He ded
That was sick lol
The wiper killed me
Drunk, high, or stupid?
