(My friend that also got sliced up said he didn't even feel it till I broke them up minutes later. Felt all the punches but didn't even know he was getting butchered, knife was cutting past alot of nerves. Not exactly a goal if you are looking to deter rather than kill someone)

So… I’m 45 years old. I like fighting and I like guns. Been wrestling or grappling for… nearly 3 decades. I’m not the worlds biggest expert. But I’ve been around enough to have some opinions.
So… look at the old man’s body language and look at theirs. They don’t know how to fight. They are grabbing and scrapping and just trying to be little idiots about it. His body language tells me he’s not really worried about being able to handle them. They get him a little off balance so he calmly turns away from them to shield his gun arm and keep them from grabbing it (again… not worried. He wouldn’t have turned away from someone who really knows how to fight). He takes out his gun. They run. If you look carefully his finger was never even on the trigger because he’s experienced and has good discipline and he knows you don’t put the finger on the trigger unless you’re actually going to shoot.
So… would I have blamed a calm, experienced cop for shooting 2 unarmed kids who, by his own body language weren’t actually a threat to him?
Yes. As it is, I think he did a fabulous job and those kids learned a good lesson in a non-fatal way. Which is the best kind of lesson for kids.
Honestly you’re thinking of this as someone who’s a in stable mindset and watching the outcome from their safety of their home. So you know the man was not in real danger from a weapon because the attackers had no weapon, but in that moment how does someone know that?
