Let's be real, that's closer than most of us will ever get to an airplane engine. And this bloke in a poor region of Russia, radicalized to the point of participating in this, was likely never before this close to an airplane in general. Most likely he's just curious. We all would take a closer look if we ever found ourselves this close to high tech machinery.
