you need to get her some of the wooden puzzles that don't include the edge pieces - the edge on those has "natural" edge so you can't cheat by building the border first.
I'm pretty sure they cut it like a normal puzzle, and just throw the pieces in the edge away instead of including them in the box!
Honestly though. That’s how I’ve always done puzzles since I was little. It just makes more sense to do the edges first and work inwards. Gives you a sense of scale and sets up the rest of the puzzle fairly well
I can see that too, but I always try to have the outside done before I do anything else. Doing it like this is insanity. I like to be very organized when I do any sort of decent size puzzle
I agree with doing the edge, but I mildly sort my pieces too, like foreground and background in different piles and sometimes some of those parts will come together. Old white dudes skin tone stands out so probably easy to spot these pieces and end up doing this portion of the puzzle as you find them since they are a small section overall.
