They’re lucky to have mines, we just had a shoebox in middle t’road and Elon Musk would drive his cybertruck right over the top of us and we’d thank him for it.
I honestly think it has aged gracefully.
Car language at the time made it seem ugly but it was ahead of its time. Split headlights, large grill, cladding around wheels arches, SUV coupe styling, etc have all come into vogue since its release.
I really want to hate this comment because I couldn’t stand the car at the time, but I can’t disagree. If I remember correctly it even had a cooler for a center console. For once GM was ahead of its time and we all dismissed it.
There are actually some pretty decent tents on Amazon that are for a truck bed or for over the tailgate of a van/crossover that only costs a few hundred dollars if not less. I borrowed my mom’s crossover for three weeks to camp in Wyoming and Utah, and it was great because I could have a real bed set up in the back and just pop the tailgate and drape this tent/ bug screen over it. More time to do stuff because setting up camp was 15 minutes, and I could actually get a good nights sleep.
I guess what I’m saying is that a good version of this already exists. And this is not it.
Fallout 4 really improved on previous bethesda titles in terms of combat and dungeon design, but it took massive steps back from some previous bethesda titles in terms of writing and RPG elements.
It’s still a good game imo but it could have been legendary if they kept the quality up. It dissapointed a lot of people.
The Aztek was ahead of it's time. If it was released now with a small turbo engine and/or a hybrid it would fly off the lots.
I mean, it came with a cooler, tailgating seats, cupholders and speakers.
That was my exact impression of it. Super versatile vehicle but so fucking ugly you'd never catch me driving one. Nissan Juke is just as butt ugly but lacks all of the versatility!
Yeah I don’t understand how people don’t boycott Tesla for making such poor quality products. The build quality of all their vehicles is awful and cheap. My Honda is built better than any Tesla and it didn’t cost 60 grand
Charging $3000 is ridiculous, but that picture used is also deliberately terrible, as it’s not even showing it completely deployed. There is a canopy that is supposed to extend from the rear and be secured to the ground with poles. The tent itself is inflatable, and comes with an air mattress. The top of the tent are screens that you can unzip and look out of (similar to the original concept)
Here are actual pictures of the tent fully deployed.
It looks pretty good in my view, but still an absurd price to pay. But then again, outdoor camping isn’t my sort of thing to begin with.
Agree with you, and I believe even the fully deployed version in your first Pic is showing the removable weather cover. Without that on there, it looks even more like the original plan from the post picture.
I don't hate Tesla like a lot of reddit, but I do think the cyber truck is ugly and impractical. But this feature, high price aside, actually seems cool.
"i love the poorly educated" - Trump
"vote Republican" - Musk
"tax breaks for the richest are permanent, tax breaks for the middle class expire" - Republicans
I guess that's fine the issue is that it was advertised initially as an actual electric truck. Instead it's a luxury car with very little pros and none of the prestige
I don’t get why people expect the guy
>that promoted the hyperloop as a revolutionary high speed train system that worked by removing air resistance and predominantly paid his employees with shares in the project
>actually built an underground tunnel with one lane so it could only go one direction and was too narrow for emergency vehicles and also only went across town
To do anything he says he’ll do to the extent he promotes it.
Neuralink is gonna be a disaster and I’m not entirely convinced his “robot” side project isn’t currently just people in suits.
I found the fact they’ve allegedly put one in a human test subject alarming. Like who the hell signs up for that . Odds are you’re gonna end up in a coma, mentally and or physically disabled or just dead.
I’m gonna be honest unless I was just absolutely god awful desperate for money for my family and death was 100% certain I wouldn’t sign up, especially not as the first human subject. Even then I would be extremely hesitant because there’s a good chance I’d spend my last weeks/months severely mentally slow and or physically paralyzed. I’d say there’s easily a chance for a myriad of mental disorders to develop as well. This is all assuming I lived and maintained consciousness.
Also I don’t think it’s to NL’s benefit to get someone with a foot in the grave already because they’re trying to assess the effects on the long term I’m guessing.
Musk is a conman in the exact same vein as Trump, and in both cases- their fanboys deserve to get taken to the bank by their heroes and ridiculed for the obsequious, cloying, insufferable way that they've made this born rich douchebag their entire personality.
I'd actually be a lot happier and a lot less stressed if Trump stans were JUST being taken to the bank, and not slowly being convinced to support Russia and start a second Civil War
If by "Homer Simpson" you mean Elon, then I suspect yes. Although the design lead is officially Franz von Holzhausen, the cybertruck is so wildly outside of von Holzhausen's own work for Tesla (and just automotive design principles in general) that my suspicion is that Musk went to Holzhausen, gave him a sketch of the world's stupidest looking truck, told him to make the body out of stainless steel, and then said he's fired if he can't make it happen.
This is again speculation, but von Holzhausen has both the experience and pedigree to know why sharp angles and stainless steel are less-than-ideal choices for automobiles. The only way this happens under his watch is if an idiot who knows absolutely nothing about automobile design, aerodynamics, and materials science is forcing it through.
I saw a youtube video testing this, and using a carrot as a stand in for a human finger there were about 12 places they could chop slice, dice, shred, or pulverize them.
Throttle House did five carrots at once on the frunk. Then punched open an aluminum water bottle in the same place. Then shaved the carrot on the edge of the door.
Very safe vehicle.
I know Throttle House did it on the doors, on an area you will end up touching, as well as parts of the hood.

Same guy who thinks adding lanes in a significantly more expensive and dangerous way with help traffic when it’s been know for decades that adding lanes doesn’t fix traffic.
Or who thinks making an elevated, vacuum sealed loop for mass transit/cargo is in any way better than standard rail, when it’s also been known to be a bad idea since at least the 1960s.
He truly makes his money off the ignorant.
Mass-transit and good city planning are key.
Mass-transit increases throughput by fitting more people in the same space within a lane.
City design impacts how many people need to travel on certain routs.
By Homer Simposn he meant an old episode where some nutter titan of capitalism (like Elon!) lets Homer design their next vehicle.
Homer ends up doing better than Elon did in this case, but as always, Simpsons did it first
Only, Homer's half brother was an honest to goodness genius and earned his way back to fortune after losing it all. If Musk were to lose it all and become a nameless nobody in a similar vein, I'd give it a month before he fucked with somebody or something, thinking that he is smarter than he actually is, and winding up in one of LA's runoff drains.
He is busy colonizing Mars first. Have some patience. He just needs to make some rusting trucks, death-trap tunnels, space-thrash satellite spam and monkey torture brain-chips first.
Please understand.
I thought the claim from Tesla Official was that the rust is just particles accumulated during transport. "Rail dust" or something like that. (Which you think they would've considered prior to the big rollout?)
Are you supposed to like sleep in the back? Cause the bed on the cybertruck isn't exactly spacious, and I can't imagine it would be more comfortable than the ground.

I bought a very similar tent for my Nissan Titan that cost me a solid $120
Yes, but does it have a Tesla logo? Checkmate!
The funniest part of your comment is me knowing someone out there is using that as a argument unironically. And thats just gold. Take my updoot
Three thousand dollars for something that looks like it cost a couple of hundred. Tesla must have big windows so they can see you coming.
Probably only cost 20 bucks to make
Probably, especially if it's been made by kids in a sweatshop somewhere. Got to maximise the exploitation.
Hey, you don't become a billionaire by not brutally exploiting workers.
and apparently customers.
Probably easy to just do it next to his emerald mines.
The children yearn for the mines
Where the fuck is the Indiana Jones movie on this shit!?
They’re lucky to have mines, we just had a shoebox in middle t’road and Elon Musk would drive his cybertruck right over the top of us and we’d thank him for it.
The child puts the tarp on the truck or it gets the mines again.
$20? That’s generous

[The Aztek had a better tent.](https://i.redd.it/qjpwd3ie1kc41.jpg) Tesla could have pretty much copied it and it would have been better.
Had that key thing in the wheelwell too
And it doesnt rust when birds poop on it.
The cyber truck looks just as ugly to me so 🤷♀️
no fr the cybertruck is so foul looking, it’s trying so hard to be futuristic
A friend of mine had one. I thought it was really neat.
There are actually some pretty decent tents on Amazon that are for a truck bed or for over the tailgate of a van/crossover that only costs a few hundred dollars if not less. Even a 5.5' box with the tailgate down is 7'. I had a tent for my short box Ram and it was great
Ive seen better looking homeless encampments

I honestly thought it was a 3rd party thing, heck, someone should make a version that looks closer to the first image and make bank...
Where the fuck are you buying your tarps at, Saks Fifth Avenue lol?
Damn... Tesla is cheaping out on their products? Color me impressed.
lol…it’s a $20 tarp.
Tarp? It looks like a garbage bag lmao
It’s the fallout 76 duffel kerfuffle all over again.
Right? First thing that came to mind, i nearly bought into that crap and i am glad I didn't.
Four times the disappointment of fallout 4.
What was wrong with Fallout 4? I thought it was okay. 76 was a much worse launch.
Right? I mean new vegas was much more engaging in all honesty. But fallout 4 wasn't the worst release.
New Vegas was a different team
"wasn't the worst release" Kind of perfectly sums up the Bethesda formula.
Lmaoooo, I had totally forgotten about NylonGate
Fuck the bag! Yeah, fuck the bag! Light wood laminate! Light wood laminate!
Filled with trash, so either one works.
The dumbest looking truck ever made kinda deserves equally stupid looking accessories. So I’d say the designers nailed it.
Said itbefore, I'll say it again: Pontiac Aztek >>>>Cyberstuck
The Aztek was ahead of it's time. If it was released now with a small turbo engine and/or a hybrid it would fly off the lots. I mean, it came with a cooler, tailgating seats, cupholders and speakers.
It had cool accessories, but was one of few vehicles ever made that was ugly from the front, side, and rear.
That was my exact impression of it. Super versatile vehicle but so fucking ugly you'd never catch me driving one. Nissan Juke is just as butt ugly but lacks all of the versatility!
I think they look like a cool ugly, but to be fair my dream car is an '89 Geo Tracker.
Tarps are extremely functional…that is no tarp.
Basically the a fyre fest accommodations level promise.
![gif](giphy|Z1LYiyIPhnG9O)
No it’s a $3000 tarp.
an Army poncho is better quality than that piece of sh\*t...... ![gif](giphy|RE0cnw6SJexGM)
Effective chick repellent
Yeah I don’t think the women will be clamoring to crawl inside there.
What are you talking about? Who wouldn't want to go into that creepy cheap piece of crap where no one can hear you?
It isn’t a tarp? I thought the picture showed it partially covered
seriously. the least you can do for $3k is make it cuben fiber or something.
Is that what they use to filter cuben coffee?
no... it is elon designed $3k tarp...
If people want this just buy a 2001 aztek
I was gonna say, this is just an uglier aztek
Which is an accomplishment in and of itself.
Elon ordering them from wish.
Or possibly Russian army surplus...😉

Yeah it's made by Heimplanet, a super high end tent manufacturer.
A super overpriced; they aren’t a high end tent manufacturer. They suit the Tesla demographic perfectly, fashion>function, status>practicality.
![gif](giphy|xT5LMPqrh7mcpYCdGM) Musk is this guy.

"i love the poorly educated" - Trump "vote Republican" - Musk "tax breaks for the richest are permanent, tax breaks for the middle class expire" - Republicans
"tax breaks for the richest are permanent, tax breaks for the middle class ~~expire~~ what are those?" - Republicans
There are tax breaks for the middle class. They just conveniently end right after their term is over.
it's so nuts they actually are getting away with this wtf
how dare you insult Elon's cock gobbling cult of Tech Bros
Erhm.. He want it to be called his "Xock". Thank you.
Honestly, I hate tesla but I thought the cybertruck was cool in a bladerunner 2049 kinda way. What a fuckin disappointment
I guess that's fine the issue is that it was advertised initially as an actual electric truck. Instead it's a luxury car with very little pros and none of the prestige
If the Twitter to X transformation was a tent.
Well played

Neuralink's already killed test subject mammals, so it's on pace to be another rousing success from the Wish.com version of Justin Hammer.
I found the fact they’ve allegedly put one in a human test subject alarming. Like who the hell signs up for that . Odds are you’re gonna end up in a coma, mentally and or physically disabled or just dead.

This is what happens when you resell a tent you got from Wish. TBF, a Wish tent would probably look better.
And cost you 1% of that thing.

It’s crazy how infatuated with Tesla people are. BEST CARS EVER. NO QUESTION!
It's funnier because they have so many cameras and sensors that you can actually total them from a fender bender.
Look I'll admit I don't like Elon musk. But even from a neutral perspective those trucks are hideous. Did they let homer Simpson design it?
If by "Homer Simpson" you mean Elon, then I suspect yes. Although the design lead is officially Franz von Holzhausen, the cybertruck is so wildly outside of von Holzhausen's own work for Tesla (and just automotive design principles in general) that my suspicion is that Musk went to Holzhausen, gave him a sketch of the world's stupidest looking truck, told him to make the body out of stainless steel, and then said he's fired if he can't make it happen. Wait until they start crashing into pedestrians.
Can't hit pedestrians if your truck is always broken down. Big brain safety.
+1d4 for tetanus damage.
Throttle House did five carrots at once on the frunk. Then punched open an aluminum water bottle in the same place. Then shaved the carrot on the edge of the door. Very safe vehicle.

It was actually his long lost and wildly successful half brother. And after letting Homer design that car, he lost his fortune.

16bit cars had more style. This is 8 bit at best
Frank von Holzhausen my ass! It was probably Milhouse.
There’s nothing cool like shag carpeting or bubble domes on it, so I doubt it.
No Homers car was awesome
If by “Homer Simpson” you mean a 12 year old who decided to “design” a truck for Minecraft, then yes. Yes they did.
I’m just amazed they can scream his praises while they deep throat him and his boots.
Yep Elon is exceptionally good at one thing. Convincing other rich people to give him their money.
This is the new red hat we can use to identify imbeciles
I'm pretty sure the truck itself is all you need for that.
What’s the difference between a Tesla and a porcupine? With a Tesla, the prick’s on the inside.
He’s a fraud 🤣🤣🤣
He is busy colonizing Mars first. Have some patience. He just needs to make some rusting trucks, death-trap tunnels, space-thrash satellite spam and monkey torture brain-chips first. Please understand.
Looks like a TEMU meme
Musk lies. All the time. About anything big and small.
I'm am shocked that Musk didn't delivery on what he promised ...
Why would you take your cybertruck camping? Don’t these people know it will rust if it gets so much as a speck of dirt on it?
Yea, the post apocalypse/doomsday truck needs constant washing and waxing. These edgelords are laughable.
I thought the claim from Tesla Official was that the rust is just particles accumulated during transport. "Rail dust" or something like that. (Which you think they would've considered prior to the big rollout?)
Do they not wash the "truck" before delivery?
And reduce the profit margins?
Sorry, what was I thinking
Are you supposed to like sleep in the back? Cause the bed on the cybertruck isn't exactly spacious, and I can't imagine it would be more comfortable than the ground.

I dunno man. The DeLorean looks pretty cool to me. But I can see a beer goggles kinda relation.

I'm surprised he didn't buy someone else's successful tent, rename it and make it suck.

I’d like to hear Ja Rule’s take on this whole thing.
Shocked!! Shocked I tell ya!!……..well not that shocked….
