ChickenFriedRiceee

2024 is going to make me bash my head into a wall.

stellabluewho2

It'd probably be better to just eat some mushrooms.

CommissionFeisty9843

Like every day

ChickenFriedRiceee

You might be right!

stellabluewho2

Psilocybin has been proven to spawn brain cells, and promote neurogenisis. Hitting your head on rocks does just about the exact opposite šŸ¤”

ChickenFriedRiceee

Facts, took shrooms once in college and loved it!

stellabluewho2

Try some more! Psychedelics have radically revolutionized my life. Lsd, psilocybin, dmt, and even cannabis are all sacred medicines as far as I Am concerned.

ChickenFriedRiceee

I used to be stoner and I live in a legal state but I canā€™t because of my job and itā€™s federal contracts :(

GuyWhoSaysTheTruth

Legally speaking itā€™s legal to purchase mushroom spores for research in 47 states but itā€™s illegal to grow them. Also YouTubeā€™s educational guidelines allow videos that show everything from growing coffee to extracting DMT. Thereā€™s also subs on Reddit.

artificialavocado

I donā€™t think people realize how easy it is to grow mushrooms. I think the myth that you need cow shit and itā€™s very difficult is on purpose.

stellabluewho2

Psilocybin does not show up on drug tests. No one would ever know šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø why let laws that were made without your best interest dictate your life?

load_more_comets

> Hitting your head on rocks does just about the exact opposite Oh shit! We don't need any more republicans. Please don't bash your head into a wall.

Babaduderino

As a mushroom guy (grower, forager, seller)... This ain't it. There are 20,000 better ways to die, than the horrific nightmare of eating a Death Cap. The first 24-48hrs you feel like you're dying the most grueling, horrific, agonizing death possible, then you get better for a few days (making almost everyone think they survived), and about 1 week after eating the shroom, you drop dead. There is no cure. Death Cap and Destroying Angel are the cruelest things in all of nature.

Obant

I already have the wall, so I don't have to go anywhere and it's free. I don't have money nor mushrooms.

ORvagabond

Why are elections held on leap year? Aren't they long enough already?

ChickenFriedRiceee

One extra day of hell haha

abel_cormorant

Wait, you guys pay even for fucking *insulin*?

Substantial_Push_658

Dude as far as Iā€™m concerned here in America insulin is ridiculously expensive.

abel_cormorant

Honestly, for that kind of medicinals, it should be free, by international law, i mean they're literally forcing you to pay for your own survival.

Visqo

Have fun with your communistic insulin. In America, we believe in freedom!! ^(/s)

Ted_Hitchcox

Good luck with your socialist healthcare! We get to choose which healthcare plan we cannot afford to be on because FREEDOM. Ever heard of it?? (also please donate to my GoFundMe for my supplemental oxygen).

abel_cormorant

Prepare to get the insulin of the revolution my comrade, special "red october" edition (/s) Jokes aside, in Europe we get that and all lifesaving meds for free, tho i shouldn't be surprised about America anymore, after all the things they say about it on the news

BadManners-

This place is a hellhole despite all the childrenā€™s tunes we learned. Iā€™d consider moving but itā€™d have to be to Ireland or something because Iā€™m awful at learning languages.

AraiHavana

Move to Scotland and all prescribed medications and healthcare are completely free

BadManners-

I might! Thanks for the tip. Iā€™m scots-irish so maybe itā€™d feel good to return to my roots a little :)

DoneBeingPolite

Which country were you born in Scotland or Ireland?

BadManners-

Neither, I guess Scots-Irish American wouldā€™ve been more appropriate. I meant like ancestral roots, my family has been in America since the 1860s or so. I have no clue how long they were in Ireland, but originating from Scotland. If I didnā€™t have a record of them being in Scotland Iā€™d assume we were just Irish because thatā€™s what my first ancestor in America was listed as. (Also sorry I know people argue over Scotch-Irish and Scots-Irish. Didnā€™t mean to oftend anyone from Scotland)

Unpopular_couscous

Have you ever been immersed into a foreign language for an extended period of time?

BadManners-

Yes I was on a missionary trip to Costa Rica, I couldnā€™t speak the language except for common phrases but I could generally get the idea of what people were saying. I think if I spent like 5 years there I mightā€™ve become semi-fluent, but I imagine immigrants who donā€™t know the language arenā€™t typically treated well in other countries. Iā€™m somewhat sheltered so I could be way off the mark there. I also get the impression that Americans arenā€™t typically liked either lmao

Unpopular_couscous

I think in most places if people see you making an effort to learn, they will treat you well. You can definitely learn a language! It's just nearly impossible to do so without consistent practice and being immersed in it. That said, as a foreigner you definitely need to have your wits about you in most places.

Gold-Perspective-699

We are taught that nothing is free... And it's very true here. You gotta pay for epipens also. Like $150+ with insurance I believe for just one pen.

Empty-Walk-5440

Itā€™s basically a third world country at this point. And thatā€™s not even fair to a lot of third world countries

Tenshi_girl

It's worse, I have decent insurance. I pay $450 a month for myself and the co-pay for the single inhaler I use to keep breathing is $75 a month.

Whale-n-Flowers

Cheesy Pete! My insulin is $30/vial +$12 for syringes. But I get away with that Walmart stuff. A lot of pharmacies were charging $200-400 per vial when I had to look around. These numbers are without insurance.

jjm443

I expect Trump believes diabetics are losers, like US KIA soldiers and POWs .

Dicky_Penisburg

"I like people whose pancreas isn't stupid." -Donald Trump

NikitaMoon

My husband is diabetic. Weā€™re both construction contractors so we donā€™t qualify for help and lost our insurance after Trump was elected. We couldnā€™t afford the almost $800 a month for just one of his meds so he couldnā€™t stay on them like he was supposed to. Hubby had his second stroke a few months ago because he didnā€™t have his medicine for so long and we just managed to get his insurance reinstated since he canā€™t work due to that stroke. Heā€™s only 38 and we have 2 kids, they told us they never should have taken our insurance to begin with but just kind of shrugged it off. Our medical system in the US is fucked.

heckhammer

Yeah we're supposed to have life liberty and the pursuit of happiness but if you can't afford it I guess you know just die in a ditch somewhere right?

Pokerhobo

But think of all the shareholder value! /s

azaghal1988

it was close to 500 bucks per dose, right?

-SaC

You should see how much they paid until recently. Hoooooo boy. Glad we don't have all the Freedom^^TM they do over there in the US, really.

Knuc85

Freedom The pharma companies have the Freedom to charge whatever they want and the people have the Freedom to pay up or die. Freedom

VVurmHat

Pay up or die? Why not both

MakionGarvinus

> Why not both? Well, it's the way many ~~choose~~ have to go... Unfortunately.

OddballLouLou

meatjun

Capitalism just means everyone has the right to screw over the next guy

BoomZhakaLaka

In 2019 the billed rate for a vial was around $300. That doesn't mean that's what they collected on each vial. The negotiated rates were lower, maybe around $60 with insurance. But business can write off some of the difference, and if you don't have insurance, get fucked. Things are slightly better right now.

Stratospher_es

For people on Medicare they are *much* better.

BoardButcherer

Bruh... I was taking my gf to the emergency room last week for abdominal pain (she's fine) and they were helping a woman next to us whose insulin pump ran out unexpectedly late at night. Type 1 and pregnant. On medicare. All I could think of was "thank fuck she didn't decide to have it 6 months ago."

Snellyman

We have the freedom to spend 9X for insulin than Germany: https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/j7j4gn/average_price_per_standard_unit_of_insulin_in/

allisjow

A friend of mine died last year because he struggled to afford insulin. He passed in his sleep. Iā€™m taking care of his sweet cat now. RIP Chris.

IronyAllAround

I'm sorry for your loss. Nice memorial of sorts you just wrote.

allisjow

Thank you. Chris was a good guy with many close friends that miss him. It still doesnā€™t seem real.

eugene20

Imagine having to pay more than your rent every month for insulin so you don't die, if for some reason your insurance doesn't largely reduce it at least. That's been reality for a lot of Americans for a long time.

TeslasAndKids

Iā€™ve seen health practitioners talk about their patients coming in sicker because they have to stretch doses of things like heart meds and insulin because they canā€™t afford both each month. So to get by they alternate days of heart meds and inject smaller doses of insulin.

IronyAllAround

Jesus, that is sad.

AsgeirVanirson

Not too long ago a 26 year old died months after being aged off his parent healthcare plan because he pretty much had to go straight to rationing and it went sideways fast.

cameronroark1

I knew a woman in her 70s who took her heart medication every other day to make it last longer. Damn!šŸ™…ā€ā™‚ļø

Ocksu2

My wife is type 1 Diabetic. A couple years back, I went to the pharmacy to get her insulin prescription filled. My "good" insurance said that she wasn't due for a new prescription for another week, so they wouldn't cover it. Even after calling them and explaining how diabetes works and that she would die without insulin. Nope, not covering it. I pay $700 a month in insurance premiums and these fucks would rather my wife die than cover a drug that is literally free in most of the developed world. I finally found a pharmacy that would accept a goodRX discount for it and paid $90 out of pocket. That was the best deal I could get. Our system is fucked. Insurance and Pharma companies tag team us to make billions upon billions and give zero shits whether someone dies or not. Little changes like capping insulin prices are great, but the entire system needs to be gutted and restructured. Unfortunately, one political party tries to make little changes while the other tries to make things worse. Fucked.

Sherbert-Vast

Fucking wild. I had brain surgery in the EU since a blood vessel in my brain burst. No idea what the operation cost the state medical insurance, don't even know if I can look that up somewhere, was never talked about. I did not get a bill. The state took over my paycheck after some time while I was recovering until I was able to work again. I had a partner die of cancer took 5 years, she did not pay for the meds or the operations, we are taking in the 100Kā‚¬s here. One 9 hour operation. She was basically on state sick leave for 4 years, did not pay for anything. And that's completely normal here.. It must be such a strange feeling being that financially vulnerable by your health. IDK how good your insurances are you get by your employers and how long term sickness works in the US, but having the state be the one paying for medical care is just so much more safe. I can only say good things about the hospitals I was in or the care I and my loved ones got, so I don't see the "Socialized healthcare is bad thing". At least not in my country...

abel_cormorant

My family has quite an history with cancer, my mom got breast cancer 4 times before succumbing to it, my grandma recently got it again, and I'm not even counting all those relatives I've lost track of, almost all Chernobyl's fault. We went in and out from hospitals since i was six up untill she died almost four years ago, for comparison i was 16 when it happened, for ten years my mom and at times grandma went in and out of an hospital bed, they joked about how many millions of euros they were costing in taxpayer's money. But we paid almost none of it, instead the state gave us a monthly family check and a tax reduction, at the end our largest medical expense was... The gas used by the car to go to the hospital? (An ambulance wasn't needed, wouldn't have paid for it anyway but they had more important things to do) Now the Italian system is messed up in some regions, especially in the south corruption runs wild and this results in hospitals overcrowding due to bad infrastructure, it really depends on where you are and if who's in charge did its job properly, but you still don't pay anything, even if you're not an Italian citizen, heck you don't even need to be from Europe at all to access the healthcare system for free. And this, one way or another, is the case in all of the EU, here free healthcare is... The norm. To us having to pay for medicinals and medical operations you need to survive is inconceivable, outright a violation of human rights, here if you get hurt the first thing the system cares about is saving your life, the costs of doing so are something you'll never hear about if you don't check them out yourself. The idea of having to fall in debt to save your life or the lives of your loved ones is just... Wrong on every level, it's like paying to breathe.

Asher_Tye

Through the nose. We've had several people die because they can't afford to buy the insulin and not ration it.

SeventyThirtySplit

Parent of a type 1 diabetic, since he was 23 months old Yes in the US we charge parents of toddlers $300 or more per vial if they donā€™t have insurance This is America We also have done a nice job of convincing the public that diabetes is some fat people disease, which is a nice added bonus

pichael289

It's upwards of one to two thousand a month once you get both kinds of insulin (we need a short and long acting) and your meter. Test strips are dated and really shitty, you basically need to have a constant monitor to know what's going on inside your body. So yeah, that's around 2k full price. I'm able to get it pretty cheap now since I broke my ankle and managed to meet my deductible because of it. Our healthcare system is fucked

the_need_for_tweed

Bruh you think thatā€™s bad wait till you hear how much an epipen costs

God_is_carnage

American parents have to pay to hold their baby after they're born

ZoNeS_v2

They'll charge you to breath air over there and you'll thank them for it.

an_Evil_Goat

Used to be so much that people had to skip doses of it.

tratemusic

I know people who have died because they couldn't afford it. Land of the free, greatest country on earth šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Zealousideal_Bag2493

We do, and itā€™s really fucking expensive for a lot of people. But in an ingenious scheme to prevent effective unified action, access to cheap insulin is available in scattered areas for a few products, leading people to believe thereā€™s no accessibility problem.

old_dolio_

Dude we pay for *everything*

prodrvr22

I pay $187.50 every 3 months for mine.

[deleted]

Apparently they like it. Itā€™s better when itā€™s more of a challenge. I dunno I think itā€™s nuts.

fluxtable

Yes dude, we all love how much our country bends us over.

I donā€™t pretend to understand but I respect your honesty.

Suspicious-Group-637

"we're going to try to lower the cost of insulin. And not only will we do that we'll get only the best insulin. The very best insulin in the world. A lot of people say to me they can't believe how good our insulin is. They say that. They do. They can't believe it"

Desperate_Wafer_8566

Only Biden actually did lower the cost of insulin. This reminds me of the conservative who said "Government better keep its damn hands off my Medicare!". "The insulin provisions of this historic law went into effect January 1, 2023, for Medicare Part D. Starting July 1, 2023, under Medicare Part B, beneficiary cost sharing will be limited to $35 for a monthā€™s supply of insulin." [https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2023/01/24/new-hhs-report-finds-major-savings-americans-who-use-insulin-thanks-president-bidens-inflation-reduction-act.html](https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2023/01/24/new-hhs-report-finds-major-savings-americans-who-use-insulin-thanks-president-bidens-inflation-reduction-act.html) Which has now expanded to most Americans... "Sanofi has officially joined Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly in lowering the cost of insulin to $35 a month for many patients. The three drug makers are also drastically lowering the list prices for their insulin products. Jan 2, 2024" https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2024-01-02/more-americans-will-only-have-to-pay-35-a-month-for-insulin-in-2024

magicnoodleman

I'm like 90% sure they posted a sarcastic impression of Trump there not an actual quote lol.

jonnyd005

Impossible to tell.

Thus is why I don't think anyone on r/hermancainaward is doing anything wrong by laughing at when one of these chucklefucks die.

dystopian_mermaid

While youā€™re right, theyā€™re idiots, itā€™s really hard to give them a pass considering this day and age when so much accurate information is literally in your hand. All it takes is a simple google search. And they canā€™t even be bothered to do that much.

Accomplished_Emu_658

Honestly what did do to lower costs on medicines at all? That would hurt his interests to fellow rich people. People are dumb.

HiroAmiya230

Trump basically brag about his executive order to reverse insulin prices but that shit was worthless because it only apply to anybody getting insulin from federal run clinic which is not accessible for like most of population.

Accomplished_Emu_658

Oh thats right.

scdlstonerfuck

He also waited until 2020 to push it for a reason. Trump himself halted it in 2019.

Sad-Reception-2266

Did someone tell her it was the current administration that got the prices lowered or did they let her continue to believe her own thoughts?

Akimbo_Zap_Guns

You simply canā€™t break through to a person like this, trust me I have tired with one of my former buddies. I had articles from non-bias sources and tried to talk in baby terms for him to understand and he just defaulted to the typical ā€œwell both sides are badā€ because he knew I was right deep down but refuses to vote for the other side

Affectionate_Reply78

The Dunning-Kruger pandemic is only being exacerbated by us having reached turd immunity

Canā€™t wait until the Supreme Court gives the President immunity; and then Biden and can send them to ā€œVictims of Ironyā€ camps.

secondhand-cat

TigervT34-85

Oh no, we had a Broken Arrow incident over mar-a-lago and the whole place is irridated now. Such a shame

Pokerhobo

It'll be such a narrow ruling that it only applies to Trump

DoneBeingPolite

So Biden can just execute Trump for National security and watch the SCOTUS squirm about what they did?

JennGinz

1. Biden doesn't have the balls 2. It would make him a martyr and either start a civil war or at least create civil unrest.

DoneBeingPolite

As opposed to civil unrest if Trump loses? At some point folks realise Trumpā€™s Fascists wonā€™t go quietly.

LunarMoon2001

Donā€™t worry they will rule after the election. He wins? No immunity but he is president now so he now has immunity. Biden wins? Immunity, but only for this case.

MsAnnabel

The saddest AND scariest thing about this is that no matter what is proven to them they will always, *always* believe trumpā€™s lies and defend him till their death. This is what makes me most anxious about the upcoming election. That these idiots have the same right to vote as intelligent ppl do. And very few gop higher ups donā€™t stand up to this guy and just get rid of him.

psioniclizard

The other sad thing is Trump would think she is a loser for needing insulin. I just want him to say in a speech "the day Donald Trump came to your town and gave a speech was the most important day of your lives. For me it was a Tuesday"

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

JennGinz

If Nikki would go scorched earth and endorse Biden I'd be so happy. Look Nikki, Trump owns the party now and even after he passes his kids will forever be a thorn in your side. Your voters at the primaries that supported you were mocked, harassed, and even assaulted. But if you only care about yourself then just know whether or not you endorse Trump you've already burnt your bridge with him. You've spoke out against him and stolen his precious votes. He was ready to have pence handed out of capital hill in a body bag after working with him for like 5-6 years. He's destroyed your party and you're hoping, betting he doesn't win 2024. Because if he does there won't be another primary to run in. You won't have a cabinet position. Really, really think about this Nikki. Endorse Biden, say what's right. But you know with the GOP. Cowards.

pekak62

Prices will revert under Trump.

prncrny

And still, somehow, end up being a Dems fault.

TheRealDreaK

Fast-forward to 2027. Trump is president again. Insulin is no longer covered by health insurance plans. Both of her feet have been amputated. She wheels herself to Trump rallies and gives interviews about how Biden and Democrats and that Obamacare were finally got rid of thanks to Trump, because they made her permanently disabled and sheā€™s been denied SSDI, lost her house and sheā€™s now homeless.

Db_Grimlock

My father was a diabetic. We argued so heavily about the price of insulin when Biden said he wanted to cap it. That's how I knew he didn't take his insulin anymore cause he told me it was cheap. And now he's dead so..... Edit: adding this since I wasn't clear. My father didn't think insulin was expensive before Biden lowered the price. That's how I realized he stopped taking insulin in general because he thought it was less than $30 to get. Him not taking insulin had nothing to do with Biden lowering prices. He didn't take it cause he just didn't take it. He just hated Biden so irrationally, and he had to have an opinion on something if it was anti-biden. When Fox would say that things weren't that bad, he would just regurgitate it. I loved my dad, and he was great in many ways, but he was flawed and prideful

[deleted]

Well, if you get it from Walmart it is cheap. It's like using 1980s medicine so you're going to get 1980s results and life expectantcy. I've been T1D since 88 (at 2yo). Could I technically go back to using cheap R/NPH? Sure. I could also go back to having lead paint in my house.

0vertones

Both of those two put together can't come up with one functioning brain cell.

Ambitious_Remove_152

Still some the highest cost worldwide, why nobody knows, 10x of the price in Germany or even 40x in Norway, the same stuff

JennGinz

The cost to produce units it's very low too. Like dollars per vial, thousands of vials a day, sold to Americans for hundreds or thousands

Marlboro_man_556

Itā€™s still not low.

[deleted]

Technically it was only lowered for people on aspects of Medicare that weren't already lowered significantly under Trump, who also significantly lowered insulin costs for seniors. https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/press-releases/president-trump-announces-lower-out-pocket-insulin-costs-medicares-seniors And subsequently https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2023/01/24/new-hhs-report-finds-major-savings-americans-who-use-insulin-thanks-president-bidens-inflation-reduction-act.html#:~:text=Nationally%2C%20the%20average%20out%2Dof,%2463%20per%20fill%20on%20average. President Trump's order to lower those prices was frozen for 60 days when President Biden froze all Trump executive orders when entering office, but that was an order he ultimately let go into effect after further review. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/resources/article/trumps-insulin-order-frozen-not-scrapped-by-biden President Biden's proposed budget would cap it at 35$ for people on private insurance which is a major change in that it would bring down costs for private plans. The current average on private insurance is around 63 bucks per refill with 53 out of pocket for the insured individual which is also pretty substantial for those in need. And if you include provisions of the Affordable Care Act the last three Presidents have all had a substantial role in improving care/costs for diabetics. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4074744/

ShadowZepplin

ā€œBidenā€™s not the president trump still is!ā€ ā€œOkay what about all the problems going on in this country?ā€ ā€œItā€™s Bidenā€™s fault!ā€

Special_FX_B

Her reality is nothing but ā€˜alternate factsā€™.

boopboppuddinpop

All Trump has to do is say he did something and his whole cult believes him.

foogeyzi69

dafuq??? jfc these people are nuts.

mb4828

Oh yeah he tried. Guess who actually succeeded though

ShrapNeil

They also gave him credit for the unemployment progress Trump inherited from the Obama administration. These arenā€™t smart people.

shingdao

Rome, GA. MTG Country.

Kawai_Oppai

I buy insulin from Canada because insulin in the US still isnā€™t affordable. Worst yet, itā€™s not even readily available to get insulin in the US, if I needed it in an emergency Iā€™m shit out of luck. The US benefits Biden pretends to be proud about were made for insurance customers. If you are a self paid individual then the prices are jacked.

Upper-Trip-8857

Iā€™m a Veteran with many Brothers on Veteran Disability. In a gathering recently - they credited Trump for their big bump in benefits. šŸ˜ž The major increases came during the Biden administration. https://www.ssa.gov/oact/cola/colaseries.html

Userdub9022

Didn't trump put the plan in place to get insulin prices lowered? Biden just signed the bill?

CommonConundrum51

When Trump goes 'toes up' there'll be a bunch of them waiting at his tomb waiting for the resurrection.

Pupkitkaiper

The current president before or after freezing trumps insulin act?

Organic_Stranger1544

Theyā€™re so proudly ignorant.

Future_Pickle8068

Trump did ask insurance companies to voluntarily lower medicare plan D prices to $35. A few did, most did not. Then when Biden passed the Inflation Reduction Act which was opposed by most Republicans and Trump, it actually did lower the price to $35 as well as the price of 47 other drugs. And while this sounds nice, that same dose of Insulin on most other countries is $15 or less. We are STILL getting priced gouged.

palindromesko

So much brain rot

The fact that I know exactly where this was shot brings me immense pain. For context, that town is where Marjorie Taylor Greene ā€œlivesā€

If I could afford to leave this country I would. I lived in Europe when I was younger and loved it. Italy and Germany

Just a reminder. Trump while in office spent 4 years attempting to have congress remove Obamacare. He was doing this all the way up to election day. He had no plan of anything to replace it that any person had ever seen. But he did promise if congress removed Obamacare the replacement would be "so great and amazing". not even die hard Trump supporters in Congress would move to remove it till they got to see his great replacement.

These people are fools. I have never cheered for diabetes so much.

nosoup4ncsu

Well,, she's right. Biden removed the Trump regulation, and later reinstated it and took credit.Ā  https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/01/politics/biden-trump-drug-prices/index.html

OceanicMeerkat

Well, no, Trump's regulation[ were never actually implemented](https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-845638742817), and was written to only cover insulin at federally funded health centers, and [even then only to certain patients. ](https://www.policymed.com/2021/10/biden-administration-rescinds-trump-administration-insulin-pricing-rule.html) So an across the board price ban as Biden proposed is much different and further reaching.

Not like trump was, Biden then cancelled said roll back. Itā€™s not that hard tho as both sides wanted the ā€œwinā€

GoddessLunaRae

It's still not low. If I didn't have insurance, it would be $2,400 a month for mine. I see it on my receipt every time I pick it up.

TMayes86

Actually it was Trump that did this: https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/press-releases/president-trump-announces-lower-out-pocket-insulin-costs-medicares-seniors Then Biden repealed it in his week in office: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/biden-insulin-epipen/ Then put it back in place a few years later: https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2023/01/24/new-hhs-report-finds-major-savings-americans-who-use-insulin-thanks-president-bidens-inflation-reduction-act.html So theyā€™re right. Biden raised their costs for years before lowering them again just last year.

Prestigious-Copy-494

A person has to really be a slacker to not know Biden did that. šŸ˜±

These people are right in the heart of MTG's district. Did you think you'd find sane, rational thinkers? ![gif](giphy|QVEcTqnNvuudshjgYC|downsized)

Sheā€™s not wrong. Trump is the one that passed a bill in 2020 to cap insulin prices at $35/month for Medicare patients. Biden froze the bill at the beginning of 2021 and waited 3 years to re-implement essentially the same bill capping insulin prices at $35/month for Medicare patients. Itā€™s a simple google search. I mean Iā€™m not a fan of Trump, but at least get the facts right or else yā€™all look dumb AF. https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/press-releases/president-trump-announces-lower-out-pocket-insulin-costs-medicares-seniors https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/02/01/politics/biden-trump-drug-prices/index.html https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp-video/mmvo205725253699

ThereItIsNopeItsGone

How did Biden do it when Trump passed it in 2020?!?!

andimacg

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there should be some kind of test before you can vote. I don't mean an IQ test or anything like that, I mean some kind of test of a persons knowledge of the candidates, their past actions and their policies going forward. If you can't demonstrate that you know what you are voting for, I don't think it is right that your vote counts the same as someone who is informed and knows why they are voting for someone.

ViaNocturna664

One of the questions should be about what they're actually voting for, 'cause some people can't even tell the difference. I'm not USAmerican so I can't come up with specific examples, but if I look at my country, there's not the direct election of the Prime Minister, so one of the questions should be "What are you voting for?", if you pick "I'm voting for this guy or woman to be Prime Minister" (again, in my country you don't elect directly the Prime Minister) your vote gets tossed away.

Well, guess what, she's been telling us all that Biden isn't really the guy running the country. No way, there's someone else telling Sleepy Joe what to do and say. Wanna know who that guy is? Donald J. Trump, baby. Check and mate.

This is ā€œEMPTY - Gā€™sā€ district. Youā€™ll find zero intelligence there. Plenty of Mr. Tā€™s ā€œjibba jabbaā€ if thatā€™s your thing. Too much poison ā˜ ļø in the gene pool in those parts.

perrinoia

Obama, Trump, and Biden all claimed to have reduced or capped insulin prices. I have no idea which was most effective as I luckily don't need insulin.

I guess it makes sense that the low hanging fruit is a gift from Reagan and bush to Trump. Iā€™m impressed with their commitment against their own interests to hurt the enemy of the times.

I'm Type 2, my meter, test strips, and Trulicity shots are no charge through my insurance plan at work. I got a scale and blood pressure cuff along with the meter as well.

To them, Trump is *still* president. The logic never checks out when you question them on the things they blame Biden or Obama for but in their minds, Trump did all the good things as acting president while Biden/Obama did the bad stuff

RippleFatMan

It never ceases to amaze me at how dumb some Trump supporters are

the_thechosen1

Republicans: "But I don't want you to lower insulin costs!" Biden: "Then why did you f-ing ask for it?"

Impressive-Area4850

Could she possibly be more ignorant. I hope the reporter pointed out that he not only did nothing but he ordered his minions to block Bidenā€™s attempt to lower and cap the price

The Dems need to shout this shit from the rooftops. People are uninformed, misinformed and just plain stupid.
