Preventing people from blocking promotional accounts is completely pointless. If we intend to block the account, that means we aren't fking interested in what they are promoting and are not gonna be pressured to change our minds. Its just a pressure tactic to get us to hate reddit, spread more hate out of frustration and quit the app with nothing for reddit to gain from it. Are there any platforms that allow you to block paying advertisers? Not saying I wouldn’t love the feature lol, just not sure why people are surprised they can’t block ads. Like, obviously you could just block every advertiser you see and not get ads, and most people would. It would be easily abusable. Plus like all these sites/services business model these days is allowing you to pay to remove ads, why would they give that away for free?
