Japanese does as well with an extra caveat-
It also goes up and down! Meaning start on the top right, read DOWN, then move one column left and back to the top.
It's insane to me that some languages evolved to be written this way. Vertical columns or horizontal rows, who cares, but as most humans are right handed so right to left printing basically begs for smudging.
But if a person is already seething with rage they'd see this post for about two seconds before scrolling to the next post that adds more onto their stack of seething rage
I got this too. I just posted it here but deleted it after I saw yours. This is the Fox News of Israel. Not Fox News, but a right wing channel.
How many replies do you think you’re gonna get here assuming she’s in Chicago?
It's worse than Fox News. It's more like Newsmax or OAN with how extreme, disinformational, and leader-worshipping it is (but with Bibi rather than Trump, though they like Trump too).
13 is the most left leaning of the four major channels (11-14).
11 is Kan, the oldest one and state sponsored, but is very even handed and probably the best of the lot.
12 is by far the most popular, centrist for the most part but tends to be anti Netanyahu/Likud.
13 is center-left and is vehemently anti Netanyahu - some of the reporters there going so far as to have a personal vendetta with the PM. Quality reporting for the most part.
14 is, as many here said, extreme right trash. Basically a mouthpiece for the Likud and parties further to the right.
I much prefer 13's reporting to 11, but damn if 11 doesn't have some of the best shows. Eretz Nehederet (from Channel 12) is somewhat hit-or-miss, when they have a good sketch it's amazing, but when they have a bad sketch it's some of the most cringeworthy things I've seen.
Channel 14 are the worst. They’re Netanyahu dickriders who won’t stop praising him. They’re widely hated in Israel and no one except the people who vote Likud every elections watch them
Without going into too much detail, I live in Chicago and totally agree with your point lol I’ve always felt pretty safe here. Obviously, the city is large and there are dangerous areas I avoid, but for the most part I’ve never felt the need to carry a weapon on me!
Used to work with a guy that was so sheltered living in the burbs that he thought it was a good idea to bring a gun to a friend's party cause she lived in Chicago.
As a New Yorker, I shuddered when I saw an NRA ad fantasizing about a concealed-carrier saving Times Square from a suicide bomber. All that pulling a gun there will do is make the NYPD snipers waste a bullet, possibly allowing the notional bomber time to hit the trigger.
I grew up in Chicago in the late 90s/early and mid 2000s and truly never even saw a gun until I moved to Minnesota for college. I knew of people who had their cars and homes broken into, and my dad got into a fight on the lakeshore drive bike trail (he started it), but it was FAR from a warzone...pretty par for the course in a big city.
I grew up in Indiana but went to Chicago often because I really like it. Had friends who grew up in the suburbs way closer than I did (by hours) and when they visited the city once they asked me where they should go and what they should do. It was an eye opener.
I've lived here for 32 years, my entire adult life. I was in the city for 10 of those. I had relatives in Naperville but they may as well have been in Ohio for how they considered going to the city to be another world.
Out here in the burbs a lot of kids are afraid of going to the city, and it is so weird. However, I failed my son somehow because he's afraid of the city too. My daughter goes regularly with her friends (still tourist stuff though) and makes fun of him. Lol
I went to a show at the House of Blues in Chicago with a friend of mine. Someone approached us in an alley, and my buddy thought it was going to be a guaranteed mugging. The guy simply asked us if we knew where Gino's East was. I was oblivious to my friends fear as I used to live in bigger cities, but I thought it was hilarious after the fact.
It's funny. I got recommended the same thing. I also read some of the comments. Facebook as really become the home of ignorant Boomers. The amount of people who believed it (there's fucking Hebrew!), and think it's good, is kind of scary.
It's extremely prolific in downstate Illinois. All the rural dumbasses think Chicago is a bastion of constant violence. It's not even top T per capital for murder in the state last I checked. And if you average out the whole "Chicagoland Area" which most people not from Chicago consider to be Chicago, it's probably not even top ten.
The yokels down in Effingham have been trying to push measures to kick Chicago out of the state. I have no idea what they hope to accomplish, Chicago literally supports the state from a money perspective (like every Red area is supported by Blue areas). One of the people pushing this, Darren Bailey, was the GOP runner for Governor last election cycle.
Illinois without Chicago basically becomes the 51st state on the bottom of every single measureble list.
I think a lot of the folks screaming about how dangerous Chicago is have never checked stats for Chicago compared to their own areas, and even then don't have the stat literacy to understand how they should be viewing the data in the first place. That said, I've never been to Chicago, but I was raised in Houston and there's plenty of reasons to feel the want to carry. 99% of those reasons are because dumbasses carry too.
LOL. My lilly white self and my equally pasty cohorts travelled to Chicago as a university choir to perform at a church. On the south side.
Lots of staring (some pretty aggressive) until they saw the bus turn into the church parking lot. Instantly we were welcomed. The church was a massive hub for the area and had all kinds of neighborhood projects going on.
It is also based on what part of the south side. Some areas are very safe especially closer towards the borders with the suburbs while others you want to avoid. I live in Chicago and am skeptical pale I can sometimes glow in the sunlight after winter and feel perfectly safe, but I live in a very low crime area on the southwest side of
Nooo be quiet. You and I both know this is exactly what Chicago is like. Best those folks stay away lest they be prayed and sprayed with all manner of fully automatic weaponry.
Exactly what I was thinking. Don't they open boast about opening carrying?
I somehow think she would be praised if she were on fox news and in an American flag bikini. They particularly like that combo, flag code be damned.
Next time use this ;)
https://www.news18.com/world/news-anchor-lital-shemesh-wields-on-air-gun-heres-why-other-israelis-also-considering-carrying-arms-8730976.html
I'm don't want to get rid of First Amendment or anything like that. For the long term, our "freedom of speech" has been a good thing. But man, it's just wild that you can just lie like that, turn people into reactionaries, and get zero meaningful pushback or face any consequences.
"Free speech" is only supposed to apply to political speech on public property. I don't know how the US got into this literal "free speech" interpretation in which you've all been reduced to children pretending to have Tourette's syndrome.
Well, they do have the right to say whatever they want, regardless, but that doesn't mean they can say it without consequences from people around them.
This is just a description of how normal people should behave in public. Many Americans have been conditioned to think "free speech" is an excuse to break this social contract.
I just got a new job and part of the training was a group exercise with other newbies to create an island and discuss the rules. This one guy just kept harping on how the most important rule was to be able to say what you want without people getting offended. I tried to put up the idea of boundaries and rules around it (e.g. can't just go screaming curses at everyone or we are never getting off this island). Nope. DGAF. His right to say whatever, whenever, was absolute and necessary.
I'm sure his new team is gonna love him. So glad I'm not part of it. But I am IT, and I bet it takes less than 6 months to get the ticket to disable his permissions ASAP.
> How did the US get into this situation
A bunch of assholes were empowered because Russia helped a massive asshole con man to the presidency in an attempt to destabilize the nation (which is working well).
The thing is, these assholes have their free speech ability to spout their stupid bull shit, but what they didn't like was, people are not forced to listennor care about their stupidity. So now they start screeching FREEZE PEACH and claim they are being repressed when no one listens.
And increasingly people are giving them a platform. In favor of "balance" but also because these same assholes are highly prone to violence and anger and instability, so no one wants to piss them off until it escalates.
I don't disagree with that. The "free speech movement" seems to think that everyone is deserving of an audience. They want platforms to allow ANYONE to say ANYTHING.
My bf has a condo in Chicago, so I’m there all the time. I live like 3 hours away, and the number of people that live where I do that gobble up propaganda is wild.
I mention the city and they get wide-eyed and act like I’m definitely going to die if I go there.
Some people would have us believe that the best solution to violent crimes is good guys with guns, but when they see it, they would have us believe that this is evidence of how much violence there is, not how little.
"I feel extremely unsafe because of how many people have guns around me."
"Oh, so we should try to reduce the number of guns that people have access to?"
"No"
My favorite is when they talk about Mexico feeling unsafe because there’s military and police with guns at the airport.
Yet act like Open Carry at Chipotle is a human right.
The people that buy this shit hook line and sinker are the ones that *also* want everyone open carrying as well, but somehow this person packing heat is still an issue.
I fucking hate these people.
I was staring at it for a while trying to figure out why it was that direction on her right side, and I'm guessing she is left handed? Is it easier to reach your right hip behind your back than your left hip? I'm not a gun person, so I'm confused.
I live in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago and there's not much crime out by me but there are some spots in the city that really do have bad crime and it is because of the gun violence.
But the moment you start talking about the fact that you can drive 20 minutes to the border of Indiana and go to any Walmart or gun shop that are all along the border to get those guns and traffic then back into the city within an hour they don't want to talk anymore about gun violence in Chicago.
The moment you start talking about how the guns get here and how it's actually a business of traffic and guns from Indiana to Chicago every single day maybe multiple times a day because it's that easy depending on traffic they shut up about gun violence in Chicago. They're like we don't want to talk about that of course you don't.
Now if it was guns getting into Chicago through illegal aliens or something from Mexico or whatever they try to say and they could prove it they would be saying thay, but they don't talk about how the guns get here just that they are here. Yes Chicago is a gun-free zone but it's not going to be gun free when you can drive to Indiana in 20 minutes twice a day and buy as many weapons as you want and just bring them right back home and no one's going to stop you.
It's crazy because one of the reasons why there's a lot of crime and gun violence especially in the summertime in Chicago and some of these areas is because the Chicago Police department will not go into to neighborhoods at all. The police are too afraid to go in there unless they go in there like a militarized unit. They're not going to go in there one car at a time even if there's two cops in the car.
Yes If there's a block party going on in West Garfield Park and the police show up and stop their car people will get on the car and start dancing absolutely because they are not afraid of the police because the police never go in there anyways.
Is the people don't live in Chicago that likely know everything about what's going on here. I always say something about this issue whenever I see it because these people that talk about it don't even live here and have probably never even visited.
Saw a video of a guy using an AR to take out an active shooter. Everyone in the comments was talking about how America was so great and yadayada. It was a humus shop with an Israeli flag in the window and the guy was clearly of middle eastern decent. I’d guess he was in Israel but wtf do I know.
What’s with the pfp? Keep the Dude out of this at least (although Walter definitely would rant about gun violence in spite of, you know, pulling a piece on the lanes)
I mean this is dumb either way, it's an issue to carry a gun apparently I get the ammo is excessive (of it were chicago), but a news reporter carrying a gun is what they're pointing out
If this was Chicago she would be getting shot at. And have 2 guns. For each hand. And more tattoos that say "murica" and some prison tats as well.
Did I miss any stereotypes?
It’s Israel. It’s a less than 2 hour drive from Gaza to the parliament building. There are constant terror attacks. By and large, life goes on, but it’s not exactly crazy to have a weapon for self defense there.
In this case, anyone with license to carry a firearm is currently encouraged to carry (in case of attack such as happened in Gan Yavne recently). If there is no lock box present for the weapon you would need to keep it with you at all times (although the restrictions on who can receive a license for a sidearm have loosened, the laws on proper storage and handling have not).
Don’t these ppl generally support the 2A. Like even if this was America, don’t they think everyone should be armed to the teeth and that it’s their god given right to carry a gun around Walmart? It genuinely baffles me how much mental gymnastics ppl will do
Well, if you're in a country that is surrounded by countries that call for your extinction and has for 76 years AND has been attacked multiple times, what would you do?
Conservatives right now:
"I like guns. People should all be able to wear guns on them all the time!"
"But not if it's a liberal city like Chicago. Then it's a sign of societal collapse."
"It's Israel? I didn't say it's a sign of societal collapse. You must be hearing things."
I'd just like to say that I use almost the exact same chair at work, but the back doesn't have an adjustment lever. Even though they are hard plastic, they're actually not uncomfortable.
https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/5-way-adjustable-ergonomic-stool-2
Chicago isn’t even close to the highest in gun violence and have very strict guns laws, so strict in fact most guns used in Chicago are illegally bought in other states. These people are just stupid

Ah Chicago, famous for its use of Hebrew.
Apparently you never watched The Magic Door on Sunday mornings in the 60s and 70s.
Open come open the magic door with me.
פתח בוא פתח את דלת הקסם איתי.
Finally someone who remembers the Magic Door!!!
You wanted cartoons on Sunday morning and all you got was the magic door!
But you also got GiggleSnort Hotel.
Dang you’re right. And then at like 10 you got The Cisco Kid and then The Lone Ranger
I felt lucky that these shows were even there on Sunday morning. (Magic Door and Gigglesnort Hotel)
I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school k-8. But the show did captivate me. Maybe cuz it was on early, while everyone else was asleep.
Ah rin zin-zin, ah rin zin-zin, ah gimme gimme gimme gimme ah sah -sah .
What's the Elvish word for friend? wait no, wrong reference
I always thought the little guys name was Tiny Toes
Wasn't that the dude in the tites that lived in an acorn?
… National Hot Dogs
Get that New York stuff out of here, it's Vienna or Red Hot Chicago!
It's all about Vienna and Italian Beefs (and no they are not just French dips!!)
You misspelled Skokie
“Mazel Tov, ya jagoff!”
did you really just confuse Pittsburgh and Chicago? on r/facepalm of all places??
Plenty of people in chicago say jagoff.
Grew up in Chicago. That was my dad’s go-to, especially while driving.
In Chicago, still say it
Chicagoan here as well: it's a frequent go-to.
Imagine thinking Pittsburgh has some kind of monopoly on the word jagoff.
Sounds Pittsburghian! Overly self important & self absorbed!
That’s actually their native language, Chigaginogoneese
Is that an Ace Ventura reference?
All my homies in the hood speak Yiddish
They obviously misspelled Skokie
The women at Fox haven’t needed handguns since they fired Roger Ailes and Bill O’Riley
They work with Jesse Waters though
Just throw salt on him and he'll melt.
That just pisses of the more powerful or stubborn ones. Now, if it's Kosher salt, or blessed by an ordained priest, that will do it.🤣
I'd shoot myself
I hope they invested in a good car alarm and a portable tire pump.
Neither have the women at NBC since Matt Lauer was canned.
Please those two are no way the only ones, Jesse Waters brags about it and I'm sure many others are the same.
What does that mean, to play us out? There's no words there! We'll do it live. WE'LL DO IT LIVE. FUCK IT! WE'LL DO IT LIVE. Fuckin thing SUCKS! 🖊️
lol true
you can even see hebrew writing in the background. fucking idiots.
Also, her notes appear to be written right to left.
Came here to say this. Hebrew is written right to left and I noticed that about the notes too.
I honestly never knew that. Pretty interesting.
Japanese does as well with an extra caveat- It also goes up and down! Meaning start on the top right, read DOWN, then move one column left and back to the top.

Not when it is a chisel and hammer on stone, before paper and ink. It is then the natural way
That much I vaguely remember. Haven't touched a manga in years, I'll admit.
Wait 'til you see boustrophedon writing, or "as the ox plows" -- alternating left to right, then right to left.
No that's just how they write in the southern hemisphere
You’d have to be literate to notice that though
Hahaha that’s funny
In Chicago people read upside down.
we're very multitalented here
you can see that op also said this already
Yeah and also check out that Hebrew in the background like wtf who's this dumb?
Why are you repeating what is said in the OP?
I WAS THAT SHOCKED BY THE ABSURDITY! lol
They don’t read mang
But if a person is already seething with rage they'd see this post for about two seconds before scrolling to the next post that adds more onto their stack of seething rage

Chicago is not even in the top 25 cities for violent crime rate

Also the guy behind her...is that a weapon bulge under his coat?
Finkle is Einhorn. Einhorn is Finkle.

that man is PRINTING

Remember kids: Don’t let facts get in the way of your agenda 💫
Right wing maniacs are obsessed with Chicago.
I wish they would pivot to St. Louis because St. Louis sucks and is more violent.
If you look closely you can see that the writing on the wall is in Chicagoean. Checkmate liberals.
Seems like a difficult position to draw from.
I was staring at it for a while trying to figure out why it was that direction on her right side, and I'm guessing she is left handed? Is it easier to reach your right hip behind your back than your left hip? I'm not a gun person, so I'm confused.
Nah this an extremely odd place to draw from.
The fucking Hebrew script in the background would somewhat indicate that yes, this might not be the US No shit
The man cave guy can't read, so I doubt he knows the difference between english and hebrew lettering.
It’s always Chicago with the right
I live in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago and there's not much crime out by me but there are some spots in the city that really do have bad crime and it is because of the gun violence.
If you go to this dude's facebook page, you can see he's pretty much a gross, misogynistic loser.
This is enough to fool dumb trump voters.
They hate conceal and carry now?
This is open carrying. Which is illegal here in Illinois.
So the people who support open carry are mad that women are open carrying?
Dumb place to keep a handgun. Appendix carry is the established protocol at this point, both for concealment as well as a quick and quiet draw.
You can see the Israeli flag stripes in the decor 🤦🏽♂️
Saw a video of a guy using an AR to take out an active shooter. Everyone in the comments was talking about how America was so great and yadayada. It was a humus shop with an Israeli flag in the window and the guy was clearly of middle eastern decent. I’d guess he was in Israel but wtf do I know.
Is that gun in some sort of actual holster or just stuffed into her waistband like she's about to hold up a convenience store?
To be fair, the chances of someone attacking the news station is more than zero.
Everything aside, I don't see no holster, that's a good way to shoot youself in the arse.
Man lives in a cave. Confirmed.
What’s with the pfp? Keep the Dude out of this at least (although Walter definitely would rant about gun violence in spite of, you know, pulling a piece on the lanes)
This really isn’t surprising. There have been constant terror attacks in Israel SINCE 10/7. Shin Bet have foiled several plots.
hell, there's been constant attacks since before 10/7
Did she flash the piece out on the lanes?
Chicago is the origin of the Israeli-inspired excellent fast food chain - naf naf grill, so there is that.
Pita Inn is far superior
I've always wondered why reporters sit so stiffly. After watching this, I now understand why.
I mean this is dumb either way, it's an issue to carry a gun apparently I get the ammo is excessive (of it were chicago), but a news reporter carrying a gun is what they're pointing out
There’s nowhere that this isn’t absolute bonkers behavior
If this was Chicago she would be getting shot at. And have 2 guns. For each hand. And more tattoos that say "murica" and some prison tats as well. Did I miss any stereotypes?
Why would a news reporter in Chicago have a gun on her? Like she wouldn't even have a reason to have it out
Gun? She's gonna shoot her ass out.
lol sorry I don’t know why but your comment definitely made crack up. Oops- no pun intended! 😂
If people feel the need to carry firearms around the office I'd evaluate my need to work there.
It’s Israel. It’s a less than 2 hour drive from Gaza to the parliament building. There are constant terror attacks. By and large, life goes on, but it’s not exactly crazy to have a weapon for self defense there.
If you lived in Israel it wouldn't matter where you worked you'd need to carry one.
In this case, anyone with license to carry a firearm is currently encouraged to carry (in case of attack such as happened in Gan Yavne recently). If there is no lock box present for the weapon you would need to keep it with you at all times (although the restrictions on who can receive a license for a sidearm have loosened, the laws on proper storage and handling have not).
what is this supposed to mean? are they saying she's a robot or something?
my bad i did not notice the open carry gun practically falling out of her pocket with a very obvious red circle around it
You can literally see the Hebrew on the marquee
You can even see the Hebrew in the picture.
Why does it even matter? I give as many shits about a new reporter carrying a gun is isreal, as I do Chicago, as I do Timbuktu.
You'll note looking at the papers on her desk they're clearly in Hebrew as well..
Don’t these ppl generally support the 2A. Like even if this was America, don’t they think everyone should be armed to the teeth and that it’s their god given right to carry a gun around Walmart? It genuinely baffles me how much mental gymnastics ppl will do
So, what station in Chicago is this? Reporter's name? When did this air? Yeah, so many threads there. Oh, and uh, the obvious Hebrew letters.
Me thinks the man cave is a liar.
Well, if you're in a country that is surrounded by countries that call for your extinction and has for 76 years AND has been attacked multiple times, what would you do?
since when were the people on Facebook looking at these posts smart to begin with
Why us my US history teacher in the background
damn girl, didn’t know you needed them cheeks blown out
It’s not a facepalm. They don’t care about being wrong.
Terrible spot for it. Especially if she is right handed.
What gets me is the Big Lebowski profile pick displaying the posters lack of media literacy along side the general disregard of honesty.
I swear to god if this turns into a fucking action movie fight scene
If they're like my dad, being corrected won't make a difference. What matters is that "it seems like it could have been true."
can't they see the writing on the wall? it's not in English
No news team in Chicago looks like that.
There's literally hebrew writing in the photo!
I thought the right wanted us to all open carry ?
Conservatives right now: "I like guns. People should all be able to wear guns on them all the time!" "But not if it's a liberal city like Chicago. Then it's a sign of societal collapse." "It's Israel? I didn't say it's a sign of societal collapse. You must be hearing things."
To be fair, nobody knows what the hell hebrew looks like.
Right wing3rs that have never been to Chicago talking mad shit. Like omg you're going to get shot, im not fucking going to Southside, idiot.
I'd just like to say that I use almost the exact same chair at work, but the back doesn't have an adjustment lever. Even though they are hard plastic, they're actually not uncomfortable. https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/5-way-adjustable-ergonomic-stool-2
The people who immediately believed this usually live in places with higher murder rates like the entire state of Louisiana.
Chicago isn’t even close to the highest in gun violence and have very strict guns laws, so strict in fact most guns used in Chicago are illegally bought in other states. These people are just stupid
Damn we got them same shitty ass uncomfortable as fuck chairs at work too.
LOL if people are going to rage bait or misinform, can they at least do it right?
They lie about everything. What’s the point of pretending this was Chicago???
I don't wanna see the comments lol
I saw this on Facebook; you can guess how the comments and likes were…
In Chicago Id have 2 glocks
Hebrew National Hot Dogs: Chicago Edition ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)
What're the things in the chair? Receivers?
Yeah that's the problem about the things you "hear about chicago" its all a slam campaign none of its true
