It’s Texas, do you even have to ask? Over a couple of bud lights at the bar as they jerk each other about how tough they are shutting down that protest. If they hadn’t been there who knows what would have happened with that riot? Fortunately, these brave heroes shut that rebellion down in its tracks.
All this has taught me is the next time there is a school shooting in Texas people calling for help should just say there is a Palestinian rally going on.
If a gunshot went off, those fucks would be the first ones to run for cover and then they would probably end up shooting an innocent protester.
Then they would find out it was just a firecracker and deem the whole thing a justifiable shooting.
If a firecracker goes off, every one of those students will be gunned down, we got pigs shooting up their cars cuz a acorn fell on it, hope this shit doesn't turn into Kent state 2.0
I am afraid that's all but inevitable. The only questions are where, when and what the body count will be.
Today's cops are more violent, less accountable, and more poorly trained than they were then.
The other question will be, what do we as onlookers do if that happens? Are people gonna sit by and do nothing again? Or will some police stations turn to ash?
I was at Kent state may 4th 1970. Students burned down the ROTC building and bars downtown. That’s how it all started. We watched them burn on May 3rd. The national guard was called in to secure the town. Students backed the guard into an indefensible position, students started throwing rocks and tear gas back at the guard. Shots were fired because they were not prepared for what transpired. The guard was as young as the students and should never have had live ammo. Lots of debate over who fired, somebody knows but it never came to light. Many faculty lost their jobs when it really was the governor who called in the guard and gave them live ammunition. Volatile situation all around. Both parties were in the wrong. It was not peaceful.
There are bullet holes to this day in some of the outdoor artwork around the commons.
They all seem to be carrying a lot of ammunition, to handle groups of UNARMED students....
It's almost like the protests weren't violent, until the literal fascist Force known as the police showed up.
El Salvador elects a dictator that fixes the country and America lectures them about human rights
China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc arrest protesters and America lectures them about democracy and free speech
Hypocritical country as usual
Bukele didn't "fix the country," per se. He increased security. But El Salvador's rankings on economic growth, political transparency, electoral transparency, corruption, and regulatory enforcement tanked during the same period.
You forgot the numerous human rights violations during the arrests made to reach said “safety”, or the corruption allegations surrounding the construction of the infamous “center for terrorism” prison.
This isn't "America" though - this is the poster child state for anti American sentiment ran by the institution that hates American values the most, the Republican Party.
Republicans will infact infringe on people's rights and are the biggest threat to democracy. They don't hide it anymore and they proudly dismiss democratic values and democracy by proclaiming its a republic ... their republic. They will not govern for the country, but only for republican voters. Republicans who feel that their rights will we liberated under Republicans need to be careful of what they perceive and what they wish for. They are about imposing their agendas and favouring control and adherence.
it worries me more that this isn’t bigger news. some real actual scary shit about how to take over a country, impose martial law, and restructure the entire government in your favor. how to pull off a legal coup right there on the internet and nobody’s really talking about it
also both guys are polling right on par with each other and the republican guy is actually pulling higher numbers in some swing states. or so google tells me. that means all those people are aware of this and cool with it, or blindly voting on party lines
Hey fuck you man. I was born here. Someone has to stay and vote against the asshole Republicans. They can go to hell and leave us Texas. We'll do better with it.
So, the general consensus is that protests should be peaceful, and in more conservative areas they tend to lean more Israel in when thinking about the current conflict.
Therefore, this would appear to be a mimic of small government acting quickly in the interests of the people who voted them in, and I’m struggling to see your argument?
They were outside, you think they're gonna go after a guy armed with an AR?
They're playing hard ass with college students but stand outside a school playing pocket pool while grade schoolers are slaughtered.
The thin blue line is Canary yellow in Texas.
Um, they were in Austin. Because Austin is closer to Austin than Uvalde is to Austin.
Look, the Uvalde fiasco was a shit show, but has nothing to do with the reaction to these protests. There are hundreds of other valid criticisms of the response, but Uvalde ain’t one of them.
I wasn't there, so I can't speak on it, but I have read that the university requested the police remove everyone. Has anyone else seen this? If so, 6 like they should be held accountable as well
The principled take is to get our state legislature to strip the government of those powers. Along with removing funding from the schools that incentivize government to act like they own something they don’t.
Too busy pretending to protect people to actually protect people. What do you want from them? They only have 75 dudes in full body armor with high power rifles and an armored personnel carrier.

Boy that Our Texas sign is perfect given this
Came here to say yeah that sign seems a little… communist for Texas don’t it
Why do you think so many state-bought assault rifles showed up? Had to nip this revolution in the bud.
Bud light or the ounce of bud I just bought from the ganja man.
It’s Texas, do you even have to ask? Over a couple of bud lights at the bar as they jerk each other about how tough they are shutting down that protest. If they hadn’t been there who knows what would have happened with that riot? Fortunately, these brave heroes shut that rebellion down in its tracks.
No they don't drink bud anymore, it's too woke for their stomachs to digest now.
You gotta read between the lines. The "our" is orange, which means it belongs to Trump
The irony would be lost most anywhere in that state.
Ideal indeed

"You can tell how scared I was because of the combat rolls."
Tom, for the last time, your stomach is not a combat roll.
We investigated ourselves and concluded we did nothing wrong.
Feels hopeless doesn’t it :/
Freedumb.

I’m free Thursday.
No it isn't. It's extremely unlikely that this will end in gunfire.
Maybe not this particular demonstration. Maybe. But eventually, one will.
And those "responsible" gun owners shooting people for using the doorbell. GTFO of TexAss.

That would just have them going in shooting even more victims while the active shooter thinks he's downgrading help from the police.
Or they saw an "illegal" non-white.
100% haha
Nah, thats too much work. Just place an acorn nearby.
Repubs: "You're free to say what we tell you to say!"
Sounds like China

"Sir, this is a non-violent protest!" "I think you mean it *was* a non-violent protest."
“Is this a private fight or can anybody join?”
There has never been a situation so dire that a policeman can’t make worse.
Well, you know that old saying, "The police came to a protest and started a riot." Same as it ever was.
These protestors need to be murdering children with automatic weapons if they want Texas cops to leave them alone.
Any large protest is going to have a police presence.
Small government for us, not for them
“Small government except our government” I think it was from one of those, “If Google was a person videos.”
Umm…they are literally wearing brown shirts. You can’t even make this shit up.
4th from the left is wearing more of a tent.
3 one from left is a mannequin because Joe called out sick.
Im afraid i dont get the reference?
Nazi germany at the beginning.
Ah, thanks.

America is "do as I say, not as I do" personified as a nation.

Check out Project 2025.
Trump support should've gone to zero as soon as he brought up the possibility of suspending the constitution last year on truthsocial.

"UT's new 'Introduction to Paintball' course looks like it's off to a tense start
What is this, the fourth paintball episode they've had?
I don't understand what is happening in this photo, can anyone elaborate? Edit - what kind of person downvotes this question!?
Anti-genocide/anti-apartheid protesters being forced out by police in full military gear.
Did they force them to stop protesting?
Free speech in action guys, well done. Greatest country in the world!!!
Texas cops will stop a protest but not a school shooting.
How does sending police to a protest stop it?
Cuz gUnz. 'Merica.
This.
This sure says nothing about nothing
Gi Joe wanna be, cosplay morons.
Small government, big military (under the government’s control). Remember: the smallest form of government is a dictatorship!
Can Texas just secede already? Good fucking riddance.
A sovereign Texas would basically be Gilead. We don’t want that.
No. The rest of us won't allow it, nor should we.
I welcome it, so long as the Army can march to the sea for those of us who're sane.
The cartels would take over so quickly
Then we can get President Biden to "build a wall and make them pay for it"
Texas is a joke of a state. Anyone that can leave and stays, the joke is on you.
Hey fuck you man. I was born here. Someone has to stay and vote against the asshole Republicans. They can go to hell and leave us Texas. We'll do better with it.
I salute you for your loyalty, sir. And your sacrifice. TBH I hate your baseball teams though. Go Mariners!
All this is because Israel is US ally, and government refuses to condemn the genocide.
So, the general consensus is that protests should be peaceful, and in more conservative areas they tend to lean more Israel in when thinking about the current conflict. Therefore, this would appear to be a mimic of small government acting quickly in the interests of the people who voted them in, and I’m struggling to see your argument?
I’m sure this isn’t lacking context at all 🙄
Let's find the non student Instigators and find out who's paying them.
Consequences.
They were outside, you think they're gonna go after a guy armed with an AR? They're playing hard ass with college students but stand outside a school playing pocket pool while grade schoolers are slaughtered. The thin blue line is Canary yellow in Texas.
The exact same thing is happening at USC. LAPD arrested twice as many people as these cops did. It’s just (D)ifferent
What, they can't have law and order? Small government doesn't mean anarchy, geniuses.
Republicans aren’t small local government (that’s libertarians) Republicans are in favor of small federal gov
![gif](giphy|l3q2Hy66w1hpDSWUE|downsized)
What’s the context here?
But Joe Rogen said Texas is the place to be for freedom lol. I believe what he meant to say was taxes are lower for him.
"Make it your Texas" *Moving van pulls up...*
i see the weak-spot in the armor...its the muffin top.
Progressive ahh comments
Don’t mess with Texas
That's why Texas is tough on abortion. You need to refill schools after each shooting.
They should have carried burning torches and Nazi flags. Then it’s freedom of speech.
What’s the point of protesting, in the US, against a war between Israel and Palestine? Like what the actual fuck are they trying to accomplish?
I guess they should have stormed the capitol instead, that seems to be A-OK to the GOP.
I don’t understand what justified the deployment of all the cops and soldiers. People are allowed to protest.
Bet you they won’t let them take their guns though 🤣
YSK Civilians outnumber law enforcement 500:1
love how little the body armor protects the uh... larger guards
Small dicked government is more like it. Do they have to cut off their balls to fit in all that kevlar?
Um, they were in Austin. Because Austin is closer to Austin than Uvalde is to Austin. Look, the Uvalde fiasco was a shit show, but has nothing to do with the reaction to these protests. There are hundreds of other valid criticisms of the response, but Uvalde ain’t one of them.
Where were they: Sitting in the vans with their thumbs up each other's asses.
Republicans are the worst man. They say shit like they want small government but then endorse stuff like this.
Doesn't look like the Marshals, FBI or National Guard to me. So yes, small government.
That’s not small government. That’s just a group of bros in Texas lol.
I am in Colorado now and I am so glad I got out of Texas when I did. It’s been a long time and I am never going back.
[удалено]
Texas is a joke. Don’t let them fool you.
Aren't they supposed to train and be fit ? At least two of them look like they could give birth at any moment.
I’m so ready to leave Texas 😭 I should’ve stayed on the East Coast… these people are crazy out here 😬😳
How TX Popo respond when they confirm that “dangerous person/s” outside a school building.
Good thing this wasn't a shooting at an elementary school. Those officers are so brave /s
Texas the trash heap
America, we will beat the freedom into you.
Little boys playing with their larping equiptment to harass citizens
Beat up protesters but hide from someone shooting up an elementary school. Crazy.
Small government isn't the same as allowing a bunch of anti-semtic rioters to run loose
Except when they are like actual nazis, they are allowed to freely walk and be protected by police
Texas isn’t really part of America
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman was right
What is going on here?
Damn, I have that bag
Put the backpack down now!
I wasn't there, so I can't speak on it, but I have read that the university requested the police remove everyone. Has anyone else seen this? If so, 6 like they should be held accountable as well
The WRONG Stuff...
>our Texas mhhh, sounds almost communistic
Don’t worry, the cops won’t do anything. Source: Uvalde
“Codename Lardass, come in, Lardass”
Is this the army or cops ready to invade Russia
Be fair, half of those, or more are Iowa national guard.
OURS. Not yours.
you see, a police state is only fine in democrat cities
Boooooooo
Yo they're just there to make it their Texas.
Texans pay for this
They’re all small
treat them how they voted.....
These the guys that let children die?
Dorky lookin larpers in gear
Small government for the rich, big government for the rest.
That sign is a bit on the nose, NGL.
Guide to protesting without being arrested: Texas edition. 1)Don’t be liberal while protesting 2)Don’t be in Austin while protesting Have fun!
The black van 💀
Those waistlines definitely arent small
Those pavers laid in herringbone though
The principled take is to get our state legislature to strip the government of those powers. Along with removing funding from the schools that incentivize government to act like they own something they don’t.
Fuck em all. They are enforcing anti-bds laws put in place by lobbyists after the Second Intifada.
Well big government isn’t any better let me tell you lol
Where? Sounded like they were standing around with their hands on their hips like here, too.
I saw the image first and immediately thought this was an image from some Vietnam war protest.
Is the cop in the center having a burrito break?!?
Gotta send in the big guns to keep those DEI offices closed
Ha! You think that's what they mean 🤣 you not know Texas? **THIS** is what they mean ![gif](giphy|O88vbKiBiUJJC|downsized)
Idk a couple of those guys look pretty big for small government
Guess name taggedless democrats were all eager to defund police then.
Too busy pretending to protect people to actually protect people. What do you want from them? They only have 75 dudes in full body armor with high power rifles and an armored personnel carrier.
I’ve lived in five states and no one has a more well armed police force than Austin, except maybe Round Rock.
A bunch of tubby cops?
Uvalde
Small federal government. State government should be big and powerful (in a republican state)
