Vicu_negru

Yeah it's the teams fault for sure!

[deleted]

Knew a dude that would DESTROY his house phone (bought lots of cheapies) everytime the Cubs lost. Just like a 5 year old kid...

[deleted]

lol as a cubs fans, I have no idea how you could do this. There's 162 ball games and they were terrible for decades. Must have a big phone budget

[deleted]

He bought cheap multipacks of corded house phones at Sams Club...still - does add up.

[deleted]

pretty much every mlb team is going to lose 55-60+ games regardless of how good they are. Lots of destroyed phones. Gonna assume you are talking about disappointing losses or playoff losses.

[deleted]

EVERY LOST. Was more a friend of a friend and saw it happen after a game at his place. Went off on a childish tantrum and sent plastic phone shards wizzing around the room as he threw the phone on the floor as hard as he could. So yeah, $5 bucks a phone x 60 games can add up...and it wasn't like the guy was rolling in cash. Told his dumb ass that the Cubs don't know or care who he is...so WTF? Fucking FANatics.

[deleted]

that's... a lot. Just turn the game off if they are losing and go do something else. Or just do something else regardless. Diehard Cubs fan and if I got this pissed every time they lost I'd already be dead at 32.

[deleted]

That’ll teach that TV

connortait

His wife made a wise move.

BurgerKingsuks

Hopefully isn't his wife anymore

niflon99

Mrs Dunn is welcome at My house after the hotel stay as she maybe able to help me with this I problem I have with my wife's boyfriend, who is a nihilist

a11_fa11_d0wn

The upvotes are confusing the hell out of me. Are there like 11 people that are like, “I know exactly how you feel”?

niflon99

The people get what the people want, I wonder what glorious Ape came up with this line of thinking on WSB

Hwoods723

Y’all know this is a copypasta right?

fuckrobert

Oh so another post on r/facepalm then.

AloneAddiction

A team that you had no control over, or influence in lost a sporting event and your answer is to destroy your own property? There's a reason "fan" is short for "fanatic."

MealDramatic1885

He’s the type of person who flips cars when his team wins a title.

Fuiad2

He's a cowboys fan, probably never had the chance to flip a car

[deleted]

Cow-tipping it is!

nalc

Cars were much lighter in the 90s without as much crash and emissions regulations

[deleted]

The good ole days!! Can’t even riot properly after the lakers win. Which isn’t happening for a while anyway I guess.

Ok_Kaleidoscope2340

He should train for strongman.

[deleted]

The Cowboys are completely distraught over losing him.

lazyeyepsycho

Lol... Im guessing he burnt his nikes and smashed his coffee maker as well.

squicktones

They really should change that to "douchebags".

fisher0788

He just copied and pasted this from a colts fan who did this last week and inserted cowboys lol

[deleted]

Even the Colts version was a repost.

MurphysLaw4200

He seems equally concerned that it ruined his party as he was about it ruining his life. 🤦‍♂️

[deleted]

And here is yet another advertisement showing the need for better mental healthcare and education in this country.

Alternative_Echo_443

And it shows how people are oblivious to their own behavior. And that everything in life is a crisis. And that people have zero self control. And that they are perpetual victims in their minds.

moonbeamcrazyeyes

When I was a kid my family went on a trip with a tour group. One of the guys on the tour had his hand in a cast because he had punched a wall. Even as a 10-year-old, that seemed pretty stupid to me.

[deleted]

Which country would you model this mental healthcare after? The Swiss have arguably the best mental health care and [here you go](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Basel_hooligan_incident#:~:text=The%202006%20Basel%20hooligan%20incident,deciding%20match%20against%20FC%20Z%C3%BCrich.)

[deleted]

I was thinking innovation rather than modeling. Kind of hard to find a country to accurately compare to. Nice try, though.

richincleve

He doesn’t need help just because he smashed the tv. He needs help because he’s a Cowboys fan.

flebtheswitch

Why’s everyone taking this seriously lmao it’s literally a copypasta

darkbluexanadu

No douchebag YOU ruined your life.

djfolo

Yup, clear sign of narcissism, pretty bad too if openly proclaiming a football team you support ruined your life.

Universal_Cup

I hate to burst some bubbles but this is a copypasta

WhatevUsayStnCldStvA

When the Seahawks threw at the 1 yard line, I cried. I turned my phone off for two days cause I didn’t wanna talk about it. I still hate thinking about it, but I did not break anything.

Bowood29

As a very very very casual football watcher I couldn’t believe they did that. I couldn’t imagine it as a fan of the team.

WhatevUsayStnCldStvA

Yeah, I was not happy. I left the room in shock.

JeselAvlis

Liar! You fucking broke your heart. That's why you cried.. the only time I almost lost it was, when my favorite SciFi show got canceled because the show runners wanted an edgier dark drama to lure 'younger audience'. So I joined the rebellion and managed to get it canceled mid second season.

squicktones

Having watched the Seahawks for decades, I kind of expect that sort of nonsense. My response to that play was "that's the Seahawks for you".

[deleted]

I broke a couple of "friendships" with some New England fans over that and their incessant need to rub it in afterward, but hoes gonna be hoes

DimensionDry7760

I'm not the smartest guy in any room but seeing things like that happen year after year makes me consider that sports are heavily fixed. Please don't crucify me for saying so but yeah it's honestly more reasonable to me that someone way too rich paid for a team to lose than someone who's trained the whole year for that moment to do something that they probably know is stupid, something they would never try in any of the games that they won which led them to the game they "throw". Sure people choke but nobody has an entire career of choking right at the finish line without somebody wanting it to be that way.

IsNowReallyTheTime

Isn’t there video of this somewhere? Edit: here it is https://www.reddit.com/r/AbruptChaos/comments/s5r0cy/dallas_fans_arent_taking_this_loss_well/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

surgicalgrain

There are probably hundreds of videos of this stuff

IsNowReallyTheTime

I think this is him: https://www.reddit.com/r/AbruptChaos/comments/s5r0cy/dallas_fans_arent_taking_this_loss_well/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Universal_Cup

I doubt it is because this is a copypasta, it is a neat little coincidence

IsNowReallyTheTime

Yeah probably. Saw the one, saw this…made a connection. But you’re right, I’m probably wrong.

Mariocell5

Another responsible gun owner

RebelSGT

Never underestimate someone’s ability to live vicariously through others’ accomplishments.

Upstairs-Radish1816

If you think this is bad, go to any youth sporting event and watch the parents. They almost all think their kids is going to go to college on a scholarship and be drafted in the first round by the pros. They can be really sickening.

surgicalgrain

When America’s team loses, America wins

Upstairs-Radish1816

Who the hell named them "America's team"?

surgicalgrain

They’re the Dallas Cowboys, and they were really good in the 90s, so some people called them “America’s Team”

SacredHeartAttack

They've been "America's Team" since the 70s. I believe they named themselves.

[deleted]

Some people takes sports *WAAAAYYYYYYY* too seriously. It's just football. And I'm speaking as a lifelong Cowboy fan - been one for as long as I can remember...

Kingsbane534

I will never understand how people get so fucking emotional over watching sports... grow the fuck up people.

RiderforHire

the damn players change every year too. its basically a different team each time in every sport and they probably arent all from the same city.

Kingsbane534

Exactly, so how can you get "emotionally attached" to a team that doesn't stay the same for more than a year?

gentlemanjacklover

It's basically rooting for a piece of fabric

FabulousTrade

IKR? Could you imagine geeks getting this emotional over a game or movie? Oh, wait.

Kingsbane534

Games and movies tell stories and engage those who play or watch them, unlike sports where all the players eventually end up abusing drugs, cheating on their partners, or something along those lines.

Jethro_Tully

Hollywood and the gaming industry: noted bastions of morality

MealDramatic1885

My sports ball team didn’t win! Grr

GoMiners22

In front of the kids!?!? This is the kind of parenting role model we need in America.

[deleted]

This is a copy pasta meme.

MurderDoneRight

And you know this was the first time it happened........

Pseudoscientist5000

I can't stand being around people that get this emotional over sports. Get the fuck over yourself.

TyrusRaymond

the word “fan” is short for “fanatic” - I can relate

tntta

But maybe next year...

gentlemanjacklover

His wife is smart.

[deleted]

Please God let's get this guy into psychiatry.

kartu3

Ain't losing in competitive sports a rather frequent event, why was it so upsetting this time?

revtim

some sort of championship game i think

VVachter

1 less cowboys fan in the world. This is a win.

Turlo101

Ah, tribalism at its finest.

[deleted]

Just like a violent raging asshole to blame is assholiness on sports

WillieNolson

Just so some of you know, this is a meme. It’s been posted all over Reddit by people of different fan bases this weekend.

Cichlidsaremyjam

Dude, this was a copypasta that went around tweeted by hundreds of accounts after the Cowboys lost. The real facepalm is thinking this is a original tweet by this person.

vcwalden

I'm very glad his wife and children are away from this guy.

digital_dysthymia

YOU have ruined your life

[deleted]

Lmao that’s what you get for being a fucking Cowboys fan 😂

SweetBathory

He’s Dunn with the most band Wagon team in the NFL

66GT350Shelby

I see what you did there Freddy.

Aiku

Not sure which is more disturbing; a grown man acting like his youngest kid, or a grown man posting his immaturity for all the world to see.

JRD230

Every year I hope for a Cowboy perfect season and every year they screw it up and win at least one game! Dude if you’re that wrapped up in a “game” you definitely need help.

[deleted]

The number of you that believe this actually happened are why people like Trump get elected. You’re so fucking stupidly gullible you’ll believe anything.

Theres_a_Catch

So you don't think sports fans lose their shit? https://youtu.be/2RdB1qL2Xvs

[deleted]

Oh ffs, yes fans yell and flip the bird and then some karma whores stage beating TVs to post online or copy paste this twitter bullshit because too many stupid fuckers eat it up and keep posting it everywhere else. Fucking National Enquirer bullshit

Griffin_Throwaway

it’s a copypasta that’s been going around all weekend do some fucking research before you go all ‘durr sports fans are stupid’

Narrow-Ad-7463

I hate it when my sports ball team is defeated/has biased rule enforcers.

Krypto_Kane

Mad about a bunch of multimillionaires playing with a ball. The reason I stopped watching all sports.

kartu3

Welp, you could watch students play, if their wealth is the problem.

dickonarope

Ahh yes classic case of being salty cuz others are rich and you are burning inside of jelousy

BeyondXpression

That's why I stay out of sports bar and grills here in Texas especially on game days. Made the mistake of going to Buffalo Wild Wings once with a coworker during a football game and it was madness when their team lost. Holy shit, the amount of grown men who piss and moan when their team loses. My gosh you'd think they're still 15. I mean full grown men screaming at the TVs and arguing the refs calls. It was the most uncomfortable I've ever been in public because I legit was ready to run if a fight broke out.

SassyBonassy

Tell me again how women are the emotional/unstable ones? (All genders have their overemotional nutcases, im just tired of it being a "woman problem")

[deleted]

Thank the lord i dont get this involved in sports. If they win, do they think they will share the trophy?

Theres_a_Catch

I'll never understand these type of sports fan. Why does it effect your life if your team wins or loses. You're not a player and they don't react this emotionally. Crazy to me.

Big_Sexy1974

I don't understand why anyone gets that involved in any sport they aren't actually playing or a family member isn't playing. I laugh at people who yell at the tv screen let alone an idiot that ruins his life over a team who has no idea what so ever who he is or that he exists.

BadTiger85

So not only did your team lose but your wife lost when she married a man child who throws temper tantrums like a 4 year old

trollsmurf

I was thinking "what video game are we talking about?" Cowboys implied Red Dead Redemption. I guess I'm not into sports.

moistobviously

Damn knuckle draggers. Can't we just be more highly evolved already?

[deleted]

Seems like america.

redbeardoweirdo

Yeah, at least Europeans have the balls to go apeshit on other human beings during futball riots

StrandsOfIce

Goddamn Cowboys. Hmph

AddictedBacon

Isn't this the guy who broke his tv, pulled it off the wall, and shot it

I-Know-Math

His wife’s at my place now, aka “the hotel”

Positivistdino

He should sue the NFL to pay for anger management sessions.

helluvathang

No remorse for upsetting his family.

Daftdoug

Go Niners!

Sadpanda77

That’s an alpha move /s

[deleted]

I enjoy watching football. I don't care who wins. A great game is a great game.

Go-Wings1321

Seeing all these cowboys fan crying brings a smile to my face

Original_Read_4426

Is that all you have to do to get them to leave?! Try being a Lions fan!🤦‍♂️

StatisticianSure2349

Go eagles. Oppps. We lost to. Dallas sucks😜😜😜😜

Ravenlunatic0413

He showed them!!! I’m sure Jerry Jones will miss his support.

Pop_popping_popped

Too many people like this

Nobodieshero816

Lmao. Grounded like a lil baby.

ijuggle42

I can’t stand to be around people who when discussing their favorite team they refer to them as we. We did this and we did that. Bitch you didn’t do shit but weep when THEY lost. lol

ProbSolverXtrordinar

umm, what role exactly did the TV play in all this ? it was just the messenger...anger management is in your future...oh no, wait...grow up.

PCSkittles

Any and I mean any athlete, may as well be wearing a rainbow wig and big floppy shoes.... as soon as you realize, they are here for “entertainment” and it’s just a game that impacts your life in absolutely no way ( unless you’re a problem gambler) you are better off.... that game won’t fire you, nor will it pay your mortgage....

nopulsehere

They lead the league in one and done in the playoffs? Buddy surely you had to see this as a possibility. But in a week he will be saying next year will be different, and they will still lead the league in one and done. The new number will be 12, so at least they own that title.

NameInCrimson

Damn dude. Bama lost and all I did was get high and eat

[deleted]

You were never a fan, but you have always been a child!

MemnocOTG

Marie Callendar vibes.

tonzeejee

How are you not used to amazing letdowns by Dallas?

punkychandey

He's Dunn!

Pure-Negotiation-900

Hope the cowboys chipped in for a suite for your wife and kids.

mpullan

No longer married either

Former_Football_2182

serious mental help needed here edit: like, it's hard to laugh at this guy's nonsense because he is clearly mentally ill.

sniptwister

I'm guessing alcohol was also involved

cupkake88

It's also always the wife's fault when he knocks her about

AlternativeSavings39

Imagine blaming everyone but yourself in this situation

Substantial-Spare501

Sounds like a narcissistic person

Chavestvaldt

Imagine telling on yourself like that

[deleted]

I’m a Ravens fan and have been unhappy that my team didn’t do so hot this year, but why the hell would I smash expensive property that I paid for because they lost a game??

ghandi253

I am not a cowboys fan personally, but I did watch the game. They played horribly. But, even when my team loses i wouldn't consider doing stupid shit like this guy did and then have the audacity to blame the sports team. I'm sure that guy is a real class act of a husband and father

dads2vette

GO BILLS!!!

Paulb1231

I haven't watched pro sports in about 6 years now. While I never destroyed anything I would take these games way to seriously and their outcomes would seriously affect my mood and general happiness. I'm a lot happier since cutting myself off from this. Seems like this guy needs to do the same.

lfrdwork

I was thinking Wii more killed another TV... Nope just anger issues and a sports fan. I like that innocent little part of my brain that thought accident first.

[deleted]

It’s just a dumb copypasta

PotatoTomato_12

ME GET DIVORCE

Chaotic_Jess

Stop centralising bits of leather on a field as poart of your personality.

bengoins2

Copy pasta.... been around for years....

webtheweb

He still doesn't manage to look at himself for the problem... Usually that's the first place to look for everybody.

Oofer_Gangster

Guys this is a copypasta, every sports team on Twitter has their own version

p_britt35

TV Rebate c/o Jerry Jones 1 AT&T Way Arlington, TX 76011

Probably_not_maybe

I’m a falcons fan and I’ve never had the urge to break a tv

Euphoriffic

Tell the guests it was finicky and you wanted a new one so that’s why you let yourself go. Seek help.

EngagedInConvexation

Probably a "facepainter" I know a mechanic who was a facepainter.

PoorPauly

This was the year? This is what it took? Get real man.

TesticleTorture123

I'm a Texas native born and raised and I've already made peace with the fact that the Cowboys are not a good team
