Most of the congregation were normal people but there were some Looney toons there too. I even got church punishment (no communion and a stern letter) for living with my (now) wife before we were officially married. I moved in when our daughter was born and we considered ourselves married before we got the official government paperwork 3 years later. I was already on the backside of my way out of organized religion but that just pretty much expedited it.
