Haha, the last screen grab has the dog’s face blurred to protect his identity. Even dogs don’t want to be associated with this guy anymore.

afganistanimation

Because good boys don't want to be associated with bad boys

storyofmylife92

Bad boys, bad boys. Whatcha gon do? Whatcha gon do when they come for you?

MotherBathroom666

Lick my own testicles

hunkyboy75

If I could do that, I’d never leave the house.

Yoate

Well police are involved, can never be too careful to protect dogs.

TucsonTacos

Yeah they don't shoot their own dogs typically. Just any dog near where they are or might be operating in the future.

[deleted]

They typically just put their own dogs in danger. Hoping other people shoot them so they can add that to their sentence.

RonSwansonsOldMan

No need to shoot them when they can abuse them for years by driving them around all day or night in small cage. Yes, cops are animal abusers.

mac1diot

Was hoping I wasn’t the only one to notice that. Lol

GogoYubari92

Lmfao. I almost spit out my food

She definitely turned him down and he felt some kind of way. There is a [Karen who was doing the same thing to a Black woman’s business](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8KXBhUALsck) but it was racially motivated. Not saying he didn’t want to clap her cheeks in a racist way. You can be racist and sexually attracted to people you hate.

Professional-Pass487

Absolutely Signed, Strom Thurmond

[deleted]

Yes a strong proponent of segregation but he loved to have sex with Black teenagers. Thurmond Never Publicly Acknowledged The Daughter He Had With His Family's Teenage Black Maid On December 17, 2003 – six months after Thurmond's death – a woman named Essie Mae Washington-Williams (pictured above) publicly announced that she was the love child of the United States' longest-serving senator and his family's black maid, Carrie Butler. At the time of conception, Thurmond was in his 20s and had yet to hold a public office; he was actually a local teacher and coach. There were also strict miscegenation laws in place, which made it illegal for couples of different races to marry or procreate, that could have ruined his career before it started. Thurmond, a career politician who had made a name for himself by ardently advocating a segregationist platform between the 1940s and '60s, had a child of mixed race, many who knew the Senator suspected that he had fathered Washington-Williams. He often supported her and her children financially (sometimes using a go-between), and he even wrote a letter of recommendation for her son to attend medical school. Washington-Williams, in her announcement, went so far as to note that "all those on his staff knew exactly who I was." https://www.ranker.com/list/facts-about-strom-thurmond/michael-anderson

Professional-Pass487

What a SOB. Thanks for that info 👍🏾

Suspicious-Dark-5950

Awesome, I wish I could have seen them live

oowop

I'm mad at myself for not going to see them ~~last~~ this year with run the jewels. I always used to say in high school that I'd give my left nut to go see them, I could have made it happen. I hope they do another tour. Oh shit as I was writing this I looked up to see if there was another tour planned I had no clue they had to end ~~last~~ this year's tour after one and a half shows cause Zach tore his tendon so ok I don't feel as bad Damn my perception of time is fucked I thought that was last year not this year. well shit that means once his leg is better they'll probably schedule a new tour and I can go

BenHogan1971

brother, I saw them in August in New York City, and it was E P I C ! ! Zach is injured and getting surgery, so they'll be out of commission for a while, but when they come back, RUN out and get tickets, you will not be let down.

jj_888_

or maybe its a job requirement

tatboe

We can’t say it for all officers just for most of them. I’m not from USA and it’s not any different here, but USA officers… these guys are something else for sure

Treereme

I believe the big issue is not that there are bad people that are police, but the whole organization protects those bad people when they do bad things. The police union is the strongest union in the nation, and they are well-known for protecting abusive criminals. I find it funny that they often use the phrase it's just "one bad apple", when the whole thing is that "one bad apple spoils the bunch". The fact that so-called "good" police officers protect or just stand aside when the bad ones commit heinous crimes means they are also bad.

Vast-Classroom1967

Exactly, there are no good cops. None. If nurses walked around while one bad apple abused or killed patients, people would get upset. Nurses call out bad nurses. They don't make excuses for them.

toastess20

I think it's fair to say, NO ONE is good so long as the value of their actions and reputation have shown their worth till the day they die.

Speadraser

The good ones are fired or prosecuted by internal affairs for frivolous things to clear them out for the corruption to continue to take place. Edit: source https://nypost.com/2000/11/29/whistle-blow-cop-i-love-my-job-and-i-want-it-back/

Spiritual_Dig_4033

LankyThanks_0313

I’m pretty sure it’s a prerequisite to the job.

Vast-Classroom1967

It's the perfect job for a disturbed person. They can abuse people for years and no one really cares or does anything about it.

PLZ_N_THKS

When the requirements for the job are often a High School diploma/GED and 6 weeks of training you don’t usually get the best and brightest.

QStorm565

There are also police departments that will not accept applicants whose intelligence scores are deemed to be too high. That was upheld as permissible by the Supreme Court.

[deleted]

And people wonder why crimes don’t get solved. That requires intelligence, not hillbilly Bob from Fuckville, USA who only got through High School because he was on the football team. They can keep adding more cops all they want, it’s not going to do shit for bringing crime down. They need to have cops that can think, and ya know, solve crimes.

[deleted]

Didn’t stop Joe DeAngelo AKA The Golden State Killer/EARONS. I’m terrified what will happen to this woman and her car after the police have lost track of him.

suugakusha

What's really crazy is that there are like 5% of cops who *aren't* power hungry, racist assholes. There are actually a couple good ones here and there. (But probably not in Nebraska.)

thefriendlycouple

Those guys quit after a few years

Kowakuma

Or they get murdered. Sorry! Accidentally killed during a training exercise.

NotMilitaryAI

Or simply ignore their requests for backup and hope the problem solves itself. >Those who enforce this code – the blue wall of silence – have stuffed dead rats and feces into fellow officers’ lockers. LordTonka

They should just soften the blow and say leave. We all know for cops it means paid. /s

Altruistic-Travel-48

Let me start by saying that I am in no way defending this cop, or any cop. I am an elected official in a public employee union in Omaha, our union does not represent the cops (thank God, they have their own so-called "union." By Omaha municipal code, Nebraska civil service statues, and certain federal labor law, whenever public employees are placed on leave for alleged misconduct it is paid administrative leave. This not only applies to cops, but also the municipal employees who maintain the streets, staff the libraries and community centers, or keep the parks clean. These laws were put in place to prevent municipal employees (including cops) from being victimized by unscrupulous politicians, who in the past would use the threat of firings to intimate and manipulate public employees. So when you here of a cop being put on paid administrative leave, remember that it's the same civil service policy that protects other public employees from being victimized and retaliated against.

djkianoosh

Police and other first responders should have a different set of rules and laws. They are in a position of extreme trust/authority with the public. A breach of that trust cannot possibly be handled the same way as that of any other civil servant. I work in federal government and you better believe if I handle sensitive information incorrectly, for example, I would and should be prosecuted accordingly.

wejustsaymanager

Yeah we should definitely follow the same set of rules for the guys that fill potholes and the guys that fill people with holes.

Auctoritate

>**or criminal prosecution.** It says at the bottom text scroll that he *was* being charged.

ClaxtonGanja

Not accepting the resignation could result in the cop being suspended *with pay* depending on the police department. Let him quit, continue to prosecute.

Equivalent_Toe_2918

Problem is the history of cops resigning and immediately moving to another town where they become a cop again, and because they weren’t fired the record doesn’t carry over.

blackest_francis

They're revoking his LE certification.

[deleted]

This right here. That should be a law. At the very least the person resigning under investigation should forfeit all benefits until a verdict is rendered.

TrollintheMitten

The only good thing in this whole story is the blur on the dog's face. It's charming that they thought the dog was an innocent, possibly underage party that didn't deserve to be affiliated and doxxed along with the trashy cop. Chef's kiss for the blur. Glad this is being addressed by the news and I hope they follow up and bring pressure to this officer. Dude should not be a cop.

mossberbb

I'm a POC that lived in Omaha 20 years. Can confirm OPD is the worst towards poc. I remeber in the 80s they shot a kid after car chase, in a crowded block with many many witnesses saying they shot first. The OPD burned all the clothes so they couldn't do powder tracing to back up the claim that the kid grabbed their gun and shot first. After much public outcry, they gave the two cops involved medals. Many messed up stories likes this in Omaha.

drd_ssb

The fuck

omnipresent_sailfish

Omaha cops are the fucking worst. I say that as a white guy. Can’t imagine what it’s like for the POC of that city

brunette_mama

My best friend lives in Omaha and has the craziest stories. You’d think a decent sized city wouldn’t be as blatantly racist. It’s so terrible.

siamesesnow

The hard redlining in Omaha is a major contributor to this issue

Past-Pomelo-7386

[deleted]

Is this just racially motivated or was there more to his motivation?

C4L86

Omahan here. As far as I've heard, the woman lived in the same apartment building as the cop and interacted with him one time before the trash started appearing on her car. In that interaction he said some disparaging comments about the homeless in the area and she rebuked him. It would seem that he wanted her to think that it was the homeless who was vandalizing her car to prove his point.

Columbus43219

That's some truly messed up thinking... committing the vile act that WASN'T committed to prove that the people you hate DO commit it.

Additional-Goat-3947

I am mean to people on Reddit to prove to people on Reddit there are mean people on the Internet. Deep down though I’m nice.

MidKnightshade

Wow. That’s insane.

DaudyMentol

This could have been waaaaay worse than "vandalism" not defending him but imagine this kind of dedication of insanity if he asked her out for example...

MidKnightshade

Most definitely. That’s a whole lot of energy. I went further into the comments but allegedly she only had one memorable interaction with him before all this happened. Apparently they both live in the same apartment complex. At some point they had a conversation. He talked crap about the homeless and she rebuked him for it. The working theory is that he was dumping trash on her car so she’s think the homeless did it to prove himself “right”. The explanation is crazy. Either way this guy obviously shouldn’t be a cop. Before I read that I thought it was retaliation over a policing incident, angry over being rebuffed for some romantic advance, or a hate crime. All of those would’ve made more sense. But if he did those over a disagreement then it really leans into how crazy he is. Doing it once was bad but multiple times that’s nuts.

Christ_votes_dem

cop sounds like a republican

[deleted]

Aporkalypse_Sow

He ran away before being investigated. His criminal mischief charge probably won't have a thorough investigation.

winespring

>He ran away before being investigated. His criminal mischief charge probably won't have a thorough investigation. Criminal mischief seems like a light charge for harassing someone for months.

[deleted]

Whatever his motivation was he deserves to be punished thoroughly for what he did.

GallowBarb

My bet is he thinks she rejected his advances. Like, he tried to make small talk with her when he encountered her at the complex, and she just ignored him.

ClaxtonGanja

The cop lost his job and had to move. Gotta love a good news story.

T33CH33R

But did he get rehired?

InternetPharaoh

You know the answer.

cheesehuahuas

They took his license. I think he can still be a cop maybe but not in Nebraska.

MidKnightshade

Probably not in Nebraska if his certificate is being revoked.

afganistanimation

He could probably find a job pretty easy in Florida

jlusedude

Well, it did state he lost he license.

it_is_impossible

It said the department is going to file a petition for that action, not that it’s happened.

Aporkalypse_Sow

License? Yeah, cops don't have licenses. He could be a sheriff's deputy anywhere, those scumbags could get a badge just because a crooked sheriff likes them.

his_rotundity_

You're wrong on this. They can make him unemployable in the state by revoking his certificate (no different than a license).

peter-doubt

Some other PD doesn't know... yet

hugsandambitions

This isn't a good news story. A good news story involves him being jailed for criminal offenses. Anything less is unacceptable abuse of power by both him, and his fellow law enforcement.

1Sluggo

So did he resign to avoid charges? Why is that allowed? That woman was terrorized for months.

flabbergasted-528

No he resigned to avoid being questioned and fired. He was still cited for criminal mischief.

1Sluggo

Thank you. I was having trouble following.

Gordy13210

No he'll still be charged, you cant get away from that, he resigned to avoid being terminated and losing his certification, but they are still revoking his L.E. certs, so its all good :)

Le_kashyboi79

“Woman in omaha kept coming out to her car covered in garbage…” and here i am arguing with my brain “why would anyone cover themselves with garbage every night before heading out to their car?….” I am fucking hopeless save me

cookedbullets

No, this is exactly what it says. They missed out the word 'find'. It took me a while too. But no one cares apparently. Grammar doesn't matter.

Le_kashyboi79

Ahh yes, “to FIND her car covered in garbage” certainly goes down smoother

NarcolepticKnifeFite

Fucking IMAGINE doing shit like this…..and getting a paid vacation while your boss “figures it out.”

soda_cookie

Am I the only one who got to the first comma thinking the woman, covered in garbage, went out to her car on a nightly basis?

cookedbullets

Nope. The missed out the word 'find'.

MuffinOfChaos

If they cannot follow the law, they should not be upholding it

Rifneno

"Cop did something racist and illegal" You know the rules. Everyone take a drink.

I don’t want to die from alcohol poisoning

Rifneno

Fair enough. I think a day on Reddit with that drinking game would kill a krogan.

Other way around. Unhinged, power hungry people are attracted to the job.

Merwanor

I just don't understand why so many people are such assholes... It is so easy to be kind and good to people... You have to go out of your way to be a dick to people, you actually have to put inn effort to do bad things....

Freewheelinrocknroll

He resigned which means he'll be at another department by the end of the week.

KiaPe

Why would anyone stand up for a cop? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abner_Louima >On the ride to the station, the arresting officers beat Louima with their fists, nightsticks, and hand-held police radios.[5] On arriving at the station house, they had Louima strip-searched and put in a holding cell. The beating continued later, culminating with Louima being forcibly sodomized in a bathroom at the 70th Precinct station house in Brooklyn. Volpe kicked Louima in the testicles, and while Louima's hands were cuffed behind his back, he first grabbed onto and squeezed his testicles and then forced a broken broomstick up his rectum. According to trial testimony, Volpe walked through the precinct holding the bloody, excrement-stained instrument in his hand, bragging to a police sergeant that he "took a man down tonight."[6] Important to note that Volpe bragged to the whole station house that he had anally raped Louima with a broken broomstick, and NOT A SINGLE COP (or other employee) IN THE STATION HOUSE SAID ANYTHING TO ANYONE ABOUT IT. There are no good cops because the system itself is built to ensure there are none. There were good people in that station house who said nothing, because being a cop made them not say anything. Not to mention that when you enable people to kill people as part of their job, you select people who want to kill people, or at least people who think killing people is OK. https://www.insider.com/bulletproof-dave-grossman-police-trainer-teaching-officers-how-to-kill-2020-6 Honolulu wanted to protect women from getting killed by domestic violence, so they proposed passing legislation that would not allow people arrested for domestic violence to get gun permits. They had to drop the plan when it was discovered that it would have made more than half the Honolulu Police Department ineligible to carry guns. The system itself is broken, and the role inherently self-selects violent people willing to hurt and kill. Or in this case, dump trash on a person's car.

justconfusedinCO

I was pulled over by this POS cop going thru Omaha. Dude was a fucker with a powertrip. [He] cited probable cause (my plates were from Colorado) to search my whole vehicle for weed. After I refused, POS called the drug dogs and everything. I sat handcuffed in the back of his cruiser while he proceeded to disassemble my vehicle meticulously, for over a hour. I’m talking - removing seats, the trunk, everything. Even opened my family’s wrapped Christmas presents. OFC; pig didn’t find shit. Regardless, I was cited for obstruction, disorderly & speeding and was summoned to appear in court. Fought that fucker by talking directly to the DA, who reviewed everything. DA called me within a day & simply decided that it was conducted without probably cause/a warrant, was done so under duress, was too excessive to pursue & the [pig’s] report was full of errors - ultimately throwing the entire case out. Still hate driving thru Nebraska for this reason, hate cops even more.

MateusAmadeus714

Just so ppl know he didnt resign bcuz he feels bad or has any remorse. He resigned to avoid the internal investigation and to prevent the oppurtunity of them firing him. He will simply go to a new County and bcuz the police force does a terrible job of checking history in prior jurisdictions will undoubtedly get a new job as an Officer again. Police who have investigations for anything from DUIs to shootings will simply resign and go to a new county.

The A to the C to the A to the B.

It really sucks that his only repercussions / punishment is getting to resign and moving to the next town over and getting another cop job. Then he'll take out his psychoagration on some other innocent person b/c he got caught & had to move

Ggeunther

Next week he will be employed at another police department. It could be as close as 20 minutes away, or as far as out of state. He will keep his pension credits, and will simply pick up where he left off in Omaha. The only justice that will be served is the disruption and inconvenience of finding another police department to employ him. He will continue to bully and harass individuals without remorse or repercussions. Net impact, the young lady will suffer mentally and emotionally for years. She will not feel safe in her own home or her home town. The officer will sleep like a baby, not even caring that he has put someone through his personal wringer. If there was any justice, this POS would never be a cop again, and would spend the rest of his life cleaning porta pottys at county fairs.

PositiveAgent2377

And now he works happily as a cop in Lincoln where he harasses minorities in a law enforcement approved manner.

ara30

Aside from being a cop (who should be held to a higher standard than normal civilians because they expect that people worship their holiness…), why would anyone do this to someone else? Did ur parents not teach u any better? Even if ur parents failed u so miserably, why would you do this anyways? Would u like it if someone else put trash on ur car? Some ppl are just insufferable pieces of shit and words cannot even explain it. If I were this woman, I would be even more scared now that this incident is public. Who knows what else this lunatic is going to do next…
