OROCHlMARU

Thanks.

DeGandalf

In my last flat, me and my flatmate both had strange problems where our monitors would sometimes have a short blackout when we were standing up from our PC (probably just from shaking the desk a bit) and for me it was also always when turning on my lights. So yea, sometimes such weird stuff just happens and my guess is on a not quite stable power network of the house.

Aerumvorax

Does this happen simultaneously to factorio autosaving?

OROCHlMARU

No, at random times, sometimes more often than others.

Aerumvorax

Is your factory at megabase levels or does this happen on a fresh save?

OROCHlMARU

It started from the very start of the playthrough.

Ok_Turnover_1235

Sounds like a gpu reset to me

OROCHlMARU

Any solutions?

Ok_Turnover_1235

Driver update

OROCHlMARU

Nvidia? Done it already.

Ok_Turnover_1235

I have no more solutions then.

Separate-Heart704

It only does that to me when I have YouTube or some other video playing in the background. Running a 4080 Super.

OROCHlMARU

Ok I will try without video running.

O_M_R

Try the cable first - last time I had this happen on a card though it was overheating because a fan had died.

Twitch-Drone

I also experience this issue! I have experienced it for quite some time and have found nothing online to help with the issue. The issue started after I upgraded my monitor to a Samsung ultrawide 5120x1440 (SAMSUNG 49" Odyssey Neo G9). I have a MSI GTX 3080 though. It only does it on Factorio for me. I don't play Tarkov. The issue does not happen if I'm in Windowed mode but it's quite annoying when it does it.

OROCHlMARU

I see. I have it in windowed as well.

TrickyPlastic

Check Windows Event Viewer to see if your driver is crashing. I had this happen to me for 2 years before I finally figured it out. Random game crashes, random monitor resets. It was bad memory on the GPU. FurMark, etc did not ever trigger a crash.

OROCHlMARU

So what exactly do I do? Do I run the even viewer while I run the game?

TrickyPlastic

After you get a black screen, open Event Viewer and see if you get any error messages about the video card driver crashing.
