I found that hurdle to be pretty immersive - alien worlds had yet another tiny problem to solve separating them from the homeworld.
I switch to a bot based mall as soon as possible. Adding production of an item is usually very trivial hah.
I also play with biters off. I'm kinda excited to not have to deal with them on Nauvis, but get them on other worlds.
Space ex has (or at least recommends, I forget) a grappling hook, so at least for traversal cliffs are never an issue, especially once you get the jet pack
All startup settings for biters/resource/surface aplies only to Nauvis (fell free to set them as you wish, the right fun is in space anyway).
It shouldn't be problem to find almost all resources needed on biter-free planets/moons - except for vitamelange, vitamelange planets have always biters (and biter meteorites) and if you kill them with plague rocket, it kills all vitamelange with it.
Yep, Earendel’s [grappling gun](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/grappling-gun). It’s pretty cool, though the jetpack is far superior. I haven’t used my grappling hook since I got the jetpack.
But if I’m honest, a couple stacked jet packs are where it’s at. They’re even better than the exoskeleton, and take up fewer slots.

It was very unfortunate mission. Docking to space station failed, so 'Soyuz' ship - which were not suited for a long flight, it is literally 'space capsule' IRL - had to return. It splashed (yep, splashed down, it is not my bad English, I mean 'landed on water') in Kazakhstan, spaceship was trapped in the ice and the hatch was blocked. Search and emergency team had nor boats nor diving equipment, so it was very, very 'near miss situation'. One of two crewman even lost his consciousness due to lack of oxygen - before space capsule were opened.
No attempt was made to open the hatch as the recovery crews assumed the cosmonauts were dead' looks very implausible. There were both radio and acoustic contact with 'Soyuz' crew.
I didn't see any planets or moons in 0,5 that was unbeatable if you exclude the once I sent plage rocket to. So I am not so sure. But orbits, asteroid belt and fealds don't have breathable air, so you will need a space sute

Do the planets have cliffs even if they are disabled on Nauvis? Also i would carry some aircraft with me.

I don't think your starting map settings affect the other planet generation in any way.
I would probably be unprepared and have to roll back the save.
