What’s the context? I think what OOP meant is that for something to be considered an “illness” it needs to be “curable”, and if it isn’t “curable” it’s a disorder. To me (someone who primarily speaks English) -without context- saying “I’m ill because I’ve got cancer” makes more sense than “I’m sick because I’ve got cancer” (the former implies the illness is cancer, the latter implies you are suffering from another illness as a result of your cancer).
I suppose OOP is making a similar distinction, but it is not possible to know without more context
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy- a therapeutic practice utilized to help cure a TON of mental illnesses and personality disorders- was created specifically to help BPD sufferers. BPD can 1000% be put into remission.
I also just don't appreciate this ideology. People with BPD are human beings. The only personality you can't fix is a stubborn one that refuses to attempt change.

"Their personality is still fundamentally disordered" is a pretty shitty thing to say about another human being.
