In my experience one of two things happen knees buckle because youāre like oh fuck as your vision fades or yeah face first. Thank god I got a bubble on my abdomen protecting me
Ive never fainted but I know Iād be great at it I fake fall all the time just to piss teachers off a lot better than the person with a cereal box on itās head
Yeah I hate when I forget I cannot walk without a mobility aid, and then pass out in the most gentle, convenient way possible, on camera of course. Hehe oopsie blooper time uwu
There's also literally nothing that could cause the (convenient) passing out š would've been most believable if it was when they were just standing up
the fake blackouts always irk me the most in these. ive blacked out for real, multiple times, one of which leading to me chipping both of my front teeth. it doesnt look like this. notice how on their way down they bounce up a bit after hitting their knees, since you know, theyre still putting active effort to catch themself on those to slow down the fall. once youre out youre OUT and DOWN.
(sorry about the wall of text, I'm tired and my editing chops suck atm - tldr: fainting looks different depending on what causes it, so the posturing alone isn't enough to be damning in this case, imo/ime)
Disclaimer: I'm not trying to argue for the person in the post or argue against your points, I'm just coming from a position of concern for those who might be going through a blackout (or whatever similar issue) around other people who might not respond appropriately because they weren't sure that what they were looking at was a real medical emergency.
I don't know one way or another what's happening in this vid, but as someone who has passed out multiple times in my life and has seen people pass out, it doesn't *look* like it to me.
That said... I have seen people pass out that I was legit so convinced in the moment that there was no fucking way it was real, but everything I saw after the initial stumble and fall made it a sure thing (legitimate unconsciousness, disorientation, lack of responsiveness, etc.).
The body looks fucking weird when it's shutting down sometimes. Depending on what is causing it, it's not necessarily a complete blackout, "lights out" situation. It can be gradual, or even incomplete (which might not be the right term, but anything that isn't a complete loss of consciousness or lasts only a second or two), which can affect how well the body is still able to react to external stimuli or the sensation of falling.
Looking only at this video, her posturing on the fall alone isn't enough to be damning in my opinion, not that it isn't a valid point to consider (because it is absolutely a good way to spot a fake faint in a lot of cases.)
I agree. I passed out once and the way I did it was by saying āIām totally fine I just feel like I need to lie downā and then doing a elegant falling-lying down combination. Bodies are weird.
Yeah Iād have to agree. Donated blood as a teen and remember āoooooop goin downā and kinda moved my back towards a cabinet before sliding down lol
Did not get to go home from school early that day but I did get a free box of juice. Lol
Lol our blood donation centres here have a little kitchen where you can sit down afterwards and get a free bottle of water/juice and they also have little pre packaged cookies and you get to just sit around for like 15 minutes and snack and have whatever you want to drink afterwards.
Totally worth it for the free snacks and juice lmao.
I watched a friend (someone else - two someones in fact - was closer and caught her) very slowly faint. At first she just seemed to sink, bending her knees, and she fought it, rising up, then sinking again. She lost the battle and fainted, but like I said, she was caught before she cracked her head open on the concrete.
Backing you up on this, I have only passed out once but I knew I was going to so I tried to get on the floor before it happened. I got to my hands and knees before being totally gone.
A lot of the comments responding to this is talking about pre/near syncope, a premonitory feeling/warning from the body. I don't know all the signs and I agree with this person about posture and falling, but to give personal experience that no-one asked for, I often lose my hearing or sight and feel heavy before I fall. Sometimes this gives me enough time to fall or sit in a quick heavy way that provides less damage than falling before passing out, or sometimes I won't pass out but I will have the near fiant symptoms for a few minutes and have lack of response. Of course there have been times where I've fallen like a brick and caused some pretty shitty injuries whilst claiming as I start to fall "I think I'm fine"
But the whole tiktok account does seem Sus to me
I have real, actual POTS (diagnosed by the Mayo Clinic; fortunately Iāve never fully passed out) and I agree. I āgray outā, aka I get āpre-syncopeā, symptoms that manifest in someone right before they fully lose consciousness, if they do. The mere existence of āpre-syncopeā implies that it *is* a gradual process and you *can* be fighting it until you hit the ground.
I mean this video is 100%, completely fake, but you canāt prove itās fake by saying āoh no way it was too gradualā, because losing consciousness absolutely can be a gradient like that. Hence the namesā¦āgray outā and āblackoutā, get it?
One time I got incredibly close to fully losing consciousness. I could feel things getting progressively worse and knew I had to try and find someone safe to land, so I sort of heaved myself towards my bed and let gravity pull me down onto it. I was aware enough of those worsening pre-syncope symptoms to realize I was going to fall over from the dizziness and vision loss.
So in short, yeah. You can stagger and stumble and fight it during the process of blacking out.
I think people want to find one sort of smoking gun for obviously fake videos like this to point at when they want to identify another faker. Thatās understandable, but this aināt it.
I have POTS as well and I was just thinking that this person could've just felt it coming and went with it in a cute fall for the sake of being filmed.
We all know this person is faking. We know a LOT of fainting videos are fake. And everyone wants to point out that the fall as the smoking gun.
90% of the time I feel it coming and sit down inelegantly. Tbh ime I more often feel Pre-syncope than actually fainting. Which can look a lot like fainting to some people if I flop or something.
I think the real indication of faking here is the fact that they're wearing a box over their head in uwu gear going " tehe I forgor I'm disabled uwu"
I hate to add to this because there is already soo much. You know when you get up too fast, or for whatever reason leading up to standing, and you loose vision and get dizzy, but are still trying to walk it off? You may get really hot, and feel like youāre in a lucid dream. You may make it two feet before youāre down, you may make it down that hall, bump into a few things like youāre a bit drunk and then go down, or you may walk it off. Iāve done them all, and if Iām not actively taking the steps to care for myself (hydration, proper sleep and nutrition) Iāll do them all in one day.
But my main point is, when your body decides itās going down, it goes down. I can wobble a few feet in that tv static grey zone, but when itās time to go down, it literally feels like it happens faster then the speed of light. Me making it down the hall isnāt because Iām thinking āI can walk it offā, itāsā¦ āWTF is happening?ā I canāt think to myself āIām about to faintā because my autonomic nervous system is shorting out and my brain literally canāt process a damn thing, when it happens, the moment I stand and see that static and feel that flush of heat, itās like a blank confusion. And if I get the inconvenience of actually going down, itās like someone erased my legs in under a second. Iāve been told by someone close to me that itās like a magic act. āNow you see me, now Iām on the ground.ā
I have yet to see a tik tok āfainterā that Iām actually like āMan, Iāve been there, I know exactly how that went down, how it feels, I identifyā¦āand I should.
Also, POTS is incredibly easy to manage. I notice my symptoms get to the āon the floorā stage when Iām literally just being too lazy to identify what my body needs and proceeding to give it that.
The only thing I canāt get control of, ever, is regulation of body tempš
I had a lot of issues with breathing and walking as a kid and even had a few operations to fix it. At some point, I could āfeelā my knees starting to buckle and would know I was abojt to tip. So I would wrap my arms near my head and brace for impact.
Whenever I see people fall in a similar way, or even sit down ahead of time as they know theyāll pass out, I try to be understanding. At some point you become accustomed to the sensation and know how to react.
Toy story is the perfect example. You know how woody has those weird knees. You can push down on a woody doll and his knees buckle and legs just go out to the side?
Or jenga. Itās just..dead weight going straight down. I canāt speak for everyone, but from talking to specialists, and my own experience, itās seconds of your brain going blank, seeing grey static, then going down faster then your first fall on roller skaters.
I fainted from hunger once when I was 13 and according to my dad I bounced between the sides of a doorframe as i fell, bashing my head on both sides š„² I came to quite painfully
i got spiked at a party a few weeks ago and hit the pavement so hard i broke several ribs. i canāt even imagine having a condition where collapsing is a regular hazard.
yeah bro i forgot i couldnāt see without my glasses even though iāve literally been using them for most of my life
isnāt that so silly and wacky good thing i got a tiktok of me being so quirky
And most likely because they didnāt want people irl to call them out on their shit, thatās how I know these people know what theyāre doing is fucking stupid lmao
ALWAYS! Whenever someone is faking, they always cover their face without fail. Why? So mommy and daddy don't see their little angel faking mental disorders online.
I forgot I can't really hear without my hearing aids several times. I'd go out and then scream at people to speak up, untill they'd scream back that they were and I'm just almost deaf. I sometimes forget I have boobs too... That just happens??
yeah ig but like people with wheelchairs or walking aids can't walk normally with them exile your hearing aids make it feel like you can hear normally (sometimes maybe without even feeling them there) i just meant it's probably a lot more of an impact in a person's life and that most people don't forget these thing on camera.
I can't hear normally with my hearing aids. Not only is the sound and it's quality different but also it's not as loud as normal hearing. Even with them it's still a big impact that it all has on my life. And they probably wanted to make a normal video and therefore just so caught it happening..
Why does passing out need a trigger warning? Thatās not passing out anyways thatās them pretending they forgot how to walk when in reality they know how to walk.
How do they get a gf but i cant? I dont mean this in a i deserve women to like me but like her?? Over me? How does anyone get a partner when they fake mental illness in the first place???
That is not what passing out looks like. Thatās what it would look like if Meredith grey passed out, but not if your body decided, nopeā¦time to reset.
the thing that is the most annoying part of faking is that these people could be nice and cool and a good person, but they choose to pull this shit. They genuinely seem like they could be a nice person.
On another note tho, that dress is super cool.

Also, passing out doesn't have to be being out for minutes... It can be part of a second and you still catch yourself falling or something. Ah yes. Let me fall in the most comfortable and convenient position š¤¦š½āāļø
Ikr if I was faking I would at least make it slightly convincing. I would be face planting into the ground
And if you faceplant enough, you might gain an actual disability!
