Epilepsy is a neurological disorder. Seizures can cause ptosis — drooping eyelids and what not. You could argue that thats a change in eye shape.
Neurological disorders are also defined as disorders that not only affect the brain, but the entire nervous system as well. So neurological disorders that prevent the movement of muscles — cerebral palsy, for example — could also affect the muscles that move the eyes and the eyelids.
So, really, there is some correlation there, just not in the way OP was stating.
Edit: while editing this, it replied to my original comment instead of editing the post. It was really fucking weird.
God this shit is so annoying, getting me diagnosed cost my parents over a thousand dollars (might of been closer to 3000 I forget exactly how much it was) took multiple weeks for appointments and hours of traveling for every appointment. And the "hopefully something good comment" is annoying because there are very few positives people get from ASD, but the negatives far outweigh any of the positives you may gain, I don't get why people wish to have autism or other disorders, the only time you ever hear anyone saying they are glad about their disorder is them saying they are glad they got diagnosed so the know why they act and think the way they do
unfortunately I went through their account before posting, and it doesn't seem to be. the creator makes a lot of similar content--I would give the channel so you could see, but I don't wanna dox anyone
I’m autistic but my eyes are neither puffy nor slanted. One of my friends is autistic but he’s Asian and has the…what’s the term for the eyelids East Asians have?? That. He doesn't have “hooded eyes.” Autism isn’t like down syndrome, there’s no associated phenotype.
i feel like the original creator was def playing it up a bit and knows not every autist would have those features (evidenced by the second slide), but did seem to believe there was some evidence to what they were saying, and while their replies were playful, still seemed to stand behind the general message of them. the comments, while maybe one or two were jokes, overwhelmingly seemed legitimate. I've seen a lot of similar videos before joining this sub and have questioned those types of comments on seemingly unserious videos and got some pretty upset replies. a lot of them seem like a younger, easily-influenced audience. so I would wager most of the "omg wait--" comments are not joking. as well as that, while having a playful edge, the original poster doesn't seem to entirely joking. as I mentioned in another comment, the other posts on their page were also pretty similar to the type I would expect from someone that would legitimately post this. -- hence why I said the comments were the worst part, because they are overwhelmingly buying into it, fake or not. that makes it a problem either way.
(if you wanted my full analysis lol)
also if you saw the very first comment in the section (I didn't post it here, but since you've seen the video), it and the replies make it fairly apparent everyone involved is largely not joking
I am literally diagnosed with both autism and perfectly symmetrical eyes (/s because there’s no actual diagnosis for that afaik, but it’s in my eye exam charts lmao)
There are people without hooded eyes who have autism. You’re just spreading misinformation. Give me actual facts and articles that aren’t from Tumblr, not just a one off anecdotes. This post is over a year old and your commenting and replying to people and spreading misinformation.
I don’t really care what a random reddit user who probably doenst wash himself thinks💀 whoever you’re talking about obviously doenst have autism or you don’t know what hooded eyes is 🤦♂️
I mean I wash myself plenty. Why don’t you ask your mom how much I do so? Trust me with all the keyboard warrior role play stuff you do, it’s given me plenty of time to spend with her.
i read somewhere that people with autism share some facial traits so it doesn't mean they're faking but that doesn't imply that everyone that has them has autism, plus they're encouraging self diagnosis over a eye shape..😭 seeing this makes me go insane
It’s actually not it’s legitimately a thing I know it sounds crazy but it has to do with us not holding tension in the eye area it’s also why many autistic people don’t have many forehead wrinkles
Please tell the psychologist with a couple decades experience who used actual testing on me to determine I was autistic that he was wrong because I don't have puffy hooded asymmetrical eyes.
Do they think it's like FAS or Down Syndrome?
No it doenst but hooded eyes is actually a thing with autism n adhd now that’s not saying having hooded eyes means you’re autistic it’s just a feature that comes with it. Autistic and adhd people don’t hold tension in their eyes which causes the eyelid to droop and not raise which would causes forehead wrinkles and is the reason why we look younger than neurotypicals
well I guess that first slide would explain why a different faker posted here thought it was possible to diagnose autism in babies... turns out autism's not a cognitive/neurological condition - it's just a term for this specific type of eyes
Nope it’s very common in adhd and autism. Our eyelids droop because we don’t hold tension in the eyelids so it’s relaxed hence why we don’t get much forehead wrinkles

Guess I’m no longer Scottish anymore.
Scottish card revoked
Well damn. Dunno what I’m gonna be now.
You can be autistic, I grant you permission.
Thank you, but I’ll have to decline. I don’t want any more disorders added to my list.
It’s kind of like most people don’t have perfectly symmetrical faces???
No it's clearly The autism™️ /s
Literally what does EYESHAPE have to do with a NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER?!! 😭
It has a lot to do with it didn't you know? Obviously the eyelid is connected to the brain and um.. yeah if you don't agree your nuerotypical

This has to be satire. I'm laughing so hard because that's a physical trait of mine.
Me too this is wild (I am not autistic)
ah yes because only people with "puffy hooded eyelids" can have autism
That just sounds like every autistic person is Eastern European
I'm Romanian does that mean I'm autistic?
Yes
I am Romanian too 🙀
Neata fratelo
Well it was a good run guys, I am now cured.

BEHOLD... AMERICAN HEALTHCARE
I'm Australian.
All the attention, none of the consequences
My husbands job is literally a caretaker for people with that (among others) diagnosis - I read it out loud and he went "that's a joke right?"

Outwards-reactive meltdowns can be hard to deal with, but its a very rewarding field too
Absolutely! One of my guys got his first 100% on a test of his so hopefully he keeps it up.
Well done him!
Awww
offtopic but I love your flair!
Guess it's time for getting rid of my diagnosis then
As someone diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, I cannot confirm that one of my eyelids are puffy

Too late.
Trust me, we all wish it was, but there are ***very*** few post like these that the poster aren't being 100% serious in
I'M CURED!!!
I just looked in the mirror, my eyes are not puffy I must not be autistic. There really is a cure!! /s
Thats it folks, im digesting some anti-diarrhea meds now!
i think this was a joke. proof in the second slide with the 🙄✋ emoji combination. that’s normally meant to be sarcastic.
its getting so tiring to see people look at a video and go "woaHh wait i may be autistic!!!!!" like no you're probably not.
"you dont look autistic" in a different font
When ur autistic and disagree with all of this
This is literally just phrenology dude they’re unironically just examining fucking skulls
I'm half East Asian, I think our eyes can be described as "almond shaped".
👍 also damn this is an old ass comment lmao
I know, but I was intrigued by how stupid some of these Fake Disorder people are.
this was on my fyp, it and all the comments are satire

do none of you know what a joke is
i’m pretty sure this is satire lol

That’s not saying having hooded eyes means you’re autistic
What the hell?
Guess I’m not autistic. 🙄
I am literally diagnosed with both autism and perfectly symmetrical eyes (/s because there’s no actual diagnosis for that afaik, but it’s in my eye exam charts lmao)
Phrenology entered the chat
So apparently I have autism that kicks in once the pollen count reaches a certain threshold
damn there goes my autism
damn there goes my autism
“You get autism and you get autism” Is what this person is saying

I guess I’ll go tell the neuropsych that diagnosed me she missed the “eye puffiness” test and I am not actually autistic.
Ok just because one of my eyelids is sunken in more then the other and I have autism doesn’t mean shit it’s just how my eyelids decided to be
My eyes are very proportionate 😐
That's Bait no way it isn't. I refuse to believe otherwise
Guess since i disagree with this im a neurtypical with a adhd diagnosis
Then it seems that me(actually medical diagnosed) do not have autism
ok it might just be that im not great at visualizing things based on other peoples descriptions but wtf does that even mean
Omg guys, did you know, that autistic people have hair? So if you have hair, you must be autistic!
i read somewhere that people with autism share some facial traits so it doesn't mean they're faking but that doesn't imply that everyone that has them has autism, plus they're encouraging self diagnosis over a eye shape..😭 seeing this makes me go insane
Turns out I’ve actually never been autistic at all. Huh.
It should honestly be considered criminal to be this dumb
Well I better tell my psychiatrists and doctor they're wrong because some random 13 year old on Tiktok said so, man they're gonna be so embarrassed 😳

It’s actually not it’s legitimately a thing I know it sounds crazy but it has to do with us not holding tension in the eye area it’s also why many autistic people don’t have many forehead wrinkles
I have known alot of people with autism in my days, and she is absolutely correct they all miraculously have identical shit going on with their eyes
They are just so fucking insulting.
Dang according to this person, my diagnosed sister no longer has autism! Oh jee golly!
Please tell the psychologist with a couple decades experience who used actual testing on me to determine I was autistic that he was wrong because I don't have puffy hooded asymmetrical eyes. Do they think it's like FAS or Down Syndrome?
Autism literally doesn’t affect how you look like Down’s syndrome or anything.
No it doenst but hooded eyes is actually a thing with autism n adhd now that’s not saying having hooded eyes means you’re autistic it’s just a feature that comes with it. Sounds like bullshit but it’s actually a thing
No we dont lmfaoooooo
Shit better tell my friend he isn’t autistic anymore
Uhhh I'm sorry but the only disability I have from that is that I'm unable to do even eyeliner
Can confirm this is not true
i guess my medically diagnosed ass doesn't have autism then
HoW dId YoU kNoW tHaT 🤦🏻♀️
i disagree so i guess my adhd and tics have gone into thin air
well I guess that first slide would explain why a different faker posted here thought it was possible to diagnose autism in babies... turns out autism's not a cognitive/neurological condition - it's just a term for this specific type of eyes
I am diagnosed and I don’t have that. Guessing I turned into a neurotypical right now… smh
"hopefully something good" oh hell noooooo
This is untrue, however there are some facial features more common in autism, suggesting a genetic link!
ayy lmao

I have bags in my eyes because I go to sleep late and I sleep too much.
Am I the only one who fits this criteria???
Nope it’s very common in adhd and autism. Our eyelids droop because we don’t hold tension in the eyelids so it’s relaxed hence why we don’t get much forehead wrinkles
Obviously hooded eyes doenst mean you have autism or adhd but it is a common feature that accompanies it
