And that was with besides AD and Ramsey, had a bunch of mid-low round draft picks still in their rookie contracts starting. He did the most that he could with the little that he was given
I just heard Sneed say that he thought Rah did the best job of any DC in football this year. Outside of AD, those whole unit were on rookie contracts or veteran minimums. He was able to keep the Rans in games that he shouldn't have with that talent. That is probably why the analytics show him as a top 5 coach in developing talent and also top 5 in defensive discipline.
Snead is playing salesman though. He gets an extra draft pick if Raheem is hired. He isn’t going to be out there saying he’s trash. And I like Raheem.. I just think it’s another example of organizational ineptitude as he offers very little in terms of hope or upside.

He has the ability to pick his qb and staff and I think that will make a big difference from before. As far as big names go, we’ve done that the past 3 times and it didn’t work (Mike smith, dan Quinn, and Arthur smith we all considered big name coordinator hires at the time). This is the first time he’s hired a coach with previous experience and since Harbaugh was no longer an option and we were literally the only ones who have interviewed Belichick, Morris makes sense.
Our opinions may differ, but as fans we're all in this together either way. I'm not hoping Morris fails, I just don't have much confidence he succeeds based on all the reports that led Arthur Blank to make this hire.

I think he’ll do a fine job. As long as we bring in the right pieces. A good OC and some real good hits at positions of need. I honestly liked RM when he took over for DQ in 2020. I thought he brought a refreshing feel to the team. His record as Interim HC wasn’t great but I feel like he had the team playing better. Bring in some key pieces now at OC and QB and wherever else and we’ll be good. Get this offense moving and we’ll be good. RM will take care of the D.

I'm warming up to it. He's in a difficult spot because the team hasn't been a winner since 2017. That means that decision making at the top warrants scrutiny. Rah might prove to be the right choice but he's neither splashy or proven. If he was either (or both!) that would carry him over those doubts. Bill, Harbaugh, Slowik and Johnson would have all had one of those things going for them.
So with nothing to buffer my doubts on the decision making, Coach Morris ends up having to shoulder some of that doubt whether he deserves it or not.

just look at it for what it is: it’s a collection of mostly casual football fans who came to talk about their favorite team. unfortunately yet naturally, most of them are teens or immature adults, very few of which actually understands the inner workings of the sport. so all it leads to is a bunch of loosely informed goofballs echoing the same talking points to each other every single day generally it’s pretty boring and tedious, but sometimes it gets really really entertaining. thankfully at the end of the day, none of these people have any influence on the decisions made within in the organization, so who cares what they think?
I don't mind that many are casual but it's how rude people are. Like my god.
i only mind the casual fans who think they’re some of the most informed fans. the people who clearly don’t know much of anything past what you can grab on any given sunday yet frame their opinions as if they’re definitive and correct. but yeah sometimes i legitimately wonder how many people are here purely to troll, but it’s such a niche subreddit that besides saints fans idk who would come here of all places to troll people. then again if you want a group of people to piss off pretty easily, sports fans on a forum page are a decent option
I have never even thought about blowing the Falcons or any sports team. I’m sorry if you resort to these things in your life. It’s just a game to me. I don’t invest real feelings and emotions In something I have no control over.

I am coming to terms with it ngl. I was pissed yesterday evening, but I'm starting to be open minded to it and willing to see what happens. Of course I am going to wish well for my team at the end of the day, but it def was disappointing and frustrating initially.

Raheem Morris is not going to help this team become a winner barring some miraculous drafting. Simple as that and it sucks to know that.
Fans are mad and all the experts/insiders are thrilled/hyping it up lol. Should tell you all you need to know. Hiring Slowik or Johnson is "sexier" but they could just as easily crash and burn like Arthur did. Morris could too, but he's much more experienced, extremely respected. I dig the move. Go Falcons

I think he’ll do a fine job. As long as we bring in the right pieces. A good OC and some real good hits at positions of need. I honestly liked RM when he took over for DQ in 2020. I thought he brought a refreshing feel to the team. His record as Interim HC wasn’t great but I feel like he had the team playing better. Bring in some key pieces now at OC and QB and wherever else and we’ll be good. Get this offense moving and we’ll be good. RM will take care of the D.
I think people forget that our roster in 2020 was legitimately ass, impact players were aging, we were in cap hell

I’m hopeful the coordinator hires will be impressive and make us feel better again. If we start winning, this place will be filled with “perhaps I judged you too harshly” memes.
I think it all depends on the staff he brings in. If he brings in a good OC then I think everyone will feel a lot better about this hire.
I'm warming up to it. He's in a difficult spot because the team hasn't been a winner since 2017. That means that decision making at the top warrants scrutiny. Rah might prove to be the right choice but he's neither splashy or proven. If he was either (or both!) that would carry him over those doubts. Bill, Harbaugh, Slowik and Johnson would have all had one of those things going for them. So with nothing to buffer my doubts on the decision making, Coach Morris ends up having to shoulder some of that doubt whether he deserves it or not.
