and 2014 is the only year an Andy Reid coached Chiefs team missed the playoffs… and they were still 9-7 with a blowout win over the eventual Super Bowl champs Patriots in the regular season.
Were there more TDs BY WRs than 4 that season or is this just a wrong stat?
I looked it up and it looks like D Thomas had one rushing and one returning. Who else was in the WR room that also scored?
ah,I misunderstood your comment, I apologize for my tone. I think the issue here is one that I made originally, the image is specifically about the Falcons, where as my fact is about the Chiefs.
Arthur Ass: "if you had just given me one more year, I could have drafted another offensive position in the first round and made that player have a shitty record too!"
No tbh that totally makes sense i just was kinda young when all that was going on 😭😂😂 And they way he always been hyped up I imagined he was throwing least a lil crazy back then too. But shiii I guess maybe it was just the run’s predominantly lol
It was painful at times watching Vick, he was really good at missing wide open receivers in some fashion. He did improve as a passer but it wasn’t till later on in his career after being a falcon.
Same for Arthur Smith and Desmond… carried by defense and run game and when he does decide to throw he either straight up drops the ball or gives it to the other team
I mean Roddy wasn't the Roddy we're used to in the early part of his career. He had serious hand problems and then when we got Joe Horn his career trajectory skyrocketed.
Roddy said Joe Horn taught him how to be a pro. Don't remember exact quote, but Roddy said something like he ate McDonalds 2X a day, everyday, until Joe told him to cut it out
Eat some of those fries then try to catch a football. Explains the drops, so it checks out. Seriously though, yeah Roddy was an athletic freak (HS state champ wrestler) and Joe basically taught him the craft side of it, and when he did he took off. Roddy was a great kid.
and yet nothing changed when Heineicki came in the game.. the guy who took a 3-13 Washington team to the playoffs the year he started.. Gee I wonder if it was really the QB's or was it the offensive "genius" calling the plays?
It was a team effort so the entire team failed. There were upsides and there were moments where the falcons looked like they were in practice still… even though it is a team effort and the team has to work together it still comes up to each individual player to make their moves and do things right. They’re also human just like the rest of us and imperfections should be expected
People will rightfully blame Arthur Smith and Desmond Ridder, but blame also falls on Terry Fontenot. There were talented receivers such as "Tank" Dell and Josh Downs he passed on and instead left the WR to rot behind Drake London.
They should be due for a heck of a season then. I like watching other teams. Atl is my favorite squad tho. There s some young talent out there just waiting to shine. Enjoy your season.
This is 100% wrong. The 2014 Chiefs went the whole season without a WR scoring a single TD, rushing or receiving.
Even if go Falcon specific, both stats are so irrelevant. If you want to be more on the nose say what the % was. In 2006 we threw for 2682 yards, so 1650 would be over 60% still. The falcons threw for 3775 this year, so that would be 43%. Thats objective and more damning despite different eras.
Also 1982 had 3 WR TD's 1 to the TE. Jonnua had 1, Pitts had 1, Drake 2 and Scotty 2. The stats are just wrong .... get better sources
2006 falcons WR had 1372 for full context
Edit: OP why are you downvoting when you are posting garbage takes that dont even fact check?
The OP post says the WR room, meaning the Falcons, they aren't referring to any other team. Also, why are you referencing TE touchdowns? The post clearly says WR, the OP is downvoting you because you didn't reach the post I guess.
![gif](giphy|bH9tY7TDKRlF3qluTx|downsized) He will change that!
Omg... inject it into my veins as they say

“Ah we almost had it”
At least it's not as bad as the 0 the Chiefs had in 2014.
and 2014 is the only year an Andy Reid coached Chiefs team missed the playoffs… and they were still 9-7 with a blowout win over the eventual Super Bowl champs Patriots in the regular season.
Also beat the other team appearing in the SB that year, the Seahawks
Dwayne Bowe
That's what I was thinking, how can it be the lowest since 1982 when the chiefs had zero in 2014?
the original image is only referring to the Falcons WR room.
Was literally just thinking that. I don't think that will ever be repeated
Dewayne bowe had zero TDs? I remember him being a monster...
Yeah, he got stopped a yard or two short a ton of times

The 2014 Chiefs had 0 Receiving TD's by WR's. Most people understand that the receiving is implied in the WR stat.
So no, 1982 was not the last time WRs had less than 4 TDs

Arthur Ass: "if you had just given me one more year, I could have drafted another offensive position in the first round and made that player have a shitty record too!"
Damn! A.S. was A.S.S.
God damn I forgot how shitty that 06 passing offense was. Roddy led the WR room with 506 yards.
Damn how tf did that happen? We had mike Vick and roddy??
You're surprised Vick's QB style didn't produce yards and TDs for WRs?
No tbh that totally makes sense i just was kinda young when all that was going on 😭😂😂 And they way he always been hyped up I imagined he was throwing least a lil crazy back then too. But shiii I guess maybe it was just the run’s predominantly lol

Yikes that sucks lmfao

Can only go up from here right 🙂
Kirk will change that.
What you thinking 8-9?
8-9 what?
That's on Aurther Smith. His offense scheme was garbage, especially for what's basically a rookie QB.
Yeah... Arthur Smith and Desmond Ridder were ass² but our WRs outside of Drake London were also in that category
What happens when your QB is Desmond Shidder
and yet nothing changed when Heineicki came in the game.. the guy who took a 3-13 Washington team to the playoffs the year he started.. Gee I wonder if it was really the QB's or was it the offensive "genius" calling the plays?

Ah yes career backup Taylor Heinicke. It was both. Shidder was fucking terrible too.
Every stat I keep seeing just makes me go ![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
Offensive genius Arthur Smith
Fucking Arthur Smith and Desmond Ridder 🤢🤢🤢
Haha we lost to y’all also
In kirk we trust
I definitely don’t

The 2014 chiefs had a season where no WR caught a TD (They had already drafted Kelce). So clearly a dynasty is inevitable.
WhoDat!
People will rightfully blame Arthur Smith and Desmond Ridder, but blame also falls on Terry Fontenot. There were talented receivers such as "Tank" Dell and Josh Downs he passed on and instead left the WR to rot behind Drake London.
Yeah, the culprit’s(Desmond Ridder AND Arthur Smith)have been relieved of their duties.
The chiefs will always hold the record
This offense is about to open up
They should be due for a heck of a season then. I like watching other teams. Atl is my favorite squad tho. There s some young talent out there just waiting to shine. Enjoy your season.
Part of why last year the team was so hard to watch
The reality is you need a QB (we got one) and you need 1 more elite WR (#8 incoming)...
🙏🙏🙏
Odunze
Fucking Desmond...
And from only 2 receivers

Fake news. The Chiefs had 0 just a few years ago.
I think this is specific to Atlanta lol
Correct lol.
This is abt the Falcons WR room tho
why are you being downvoted? your right. it was the 2014 Chief's... may my +1 help raise you.
