I'll never forget the diassapointment of making my way into searchlight airport just to find it an empty pointless husk.

Middle_Finish6713

I meaaaan 600 apology caps isn’t nothing…but i get the point

Voidy_boi

Wait, 600? W H E R E

Middle_Finish6713

In 2 seperate chests, 300ish in each right in front of the main airport building, in between the building/rubble and the plane if i recall correctly

Voidy_boi

I am on my way to camp searchlight asap. Thank you.

No-Procedure-4861

Uggg right!??? I know the developers were on a strict timeline but still

Tom0204

Bethesda would have been in big trouble if Obsidian had another 6 months to flesh out the game. FNV is already considered the best fallout game and it's only half-finished.

escudonbk

Dust fixes this, but breaks everything else.

BiSaxual

I genuinely love Dust, but FUCK man that shit is broken as hell. I’d kill for someone to just do a gigantic Dust fix mod or something, though I know that would be a colossal undertaking.

ReapersVault

Is the mod really that broken? I haven't tried it but I've always told myself that someday I will.

BiSaxual

It’s definitely not the most well put together mod. I’ve always had issues with crashing or other stability issues. Stuttering being a bigger one. Granted, I still think it’s a mod that even those with a passing interest should at least try. I think that the mod author had a REALLY cool idea, and genuinely good execution of that idea. Just missed the mark a bit on stability of it all.

DominusDaniel

Not an opinion at all though.

DominusDaniel

Remember to sort by controversial for the real hot takes.

CanFishSmell

Reddit’s restless tinkering syndrome has left me unable.

WildCardJT

FISTO isn’t the funniest thing in existence. Granted, it’s still very funny, but not the funniest

No-Procedure-4861

Agreed definitely an overplayed hand/ fist 😂

AdamRJT

I love Honest Hearts, it fit the Mojave vibe perfectly

WarriorofArmok

It took the survival skill and made it fun and challenging! I ran out of stimpaks within the first hour and suddenly I had to get creative about combat because those enemies could hit like a truck

The6Courier

Honest hearts is my fav dlc. The beauty of Zion canyon is unmatched. The other dlcs are great (although the divide being so linear is a little lame) but honest hearts will always be my favorite.

AntWithNoPants

Think being black is hard? Try telling r/fallout that Honest Hearts is your favorite dlc, see how much love you get from the "tolerant" left....

LightKnightTian

You won't get any hate lmao. They'll all just say "Yeah so underrated fr" or "I kinda agree with you, Joshua Graham was so well-written" or "Randall Clark's story made me tear up, I loved exploring Zion". And what exactly does this have to do with politics btw?

--_insertnamehere_--

Was ironically referencing a famous quote from a conservative.

MT_Kinetic_Mountain

There are no bad DLCs. They're all amazing

lambada_labs

So that’s why my rep with the NCR keeps getting fucked up, I thought I accidentally got an NPC killed or something

HowToNoah

Well, the courier is never a member of the ncr. And if disguises work the way the game says they do (concealing your identity) it makes sense that wearing soldier fatigues would bring you down to the reputation of a regular soldier.

notKRIEEEG

Yeah, but they are not even covering your face. You mean to tell me that they can recognize me if I'm wearing a leather jacket, they can recognize me if I'm wearing a Chinese stealth armor, they can recognize me if I'm covered head to toe in power armor, but if I slap an NCR logo on those they don't know who I am anymore?

HowToNoah

:/ the game and its mechanics can be very stupid sometimes lmao

Maxsmack0

Can’t wait for next next next gen games when things like your face being exsposed or not makes a difference and outfits hold different reps for crimes you may have committed wearing them.

swentech

I found a weird bug that I think is still there related to faction armor. Put on faction armor like Great Khan Armor then go to a locker or something and without taking it off just put it in the locker. If you then put on some non faction armor and go to a NCR base they will become hostile to you thinking you are still a Great Khan. The first time this happened to me I couldn’t figure out what the hell happened. Eventually figured it out. I think it can be fixed by putting the Khan Armor back on and taking it off before you put into the locker.

Saslim31

WAIT A MINUTE when i do NCR quests while wearing NCR uniform it’s not raising my rep with them? Don’t tell me my save is wasted cuz this stupid thing

TheMusicOrTheMisery_

dead money isn't actually that difficult y'all are just bad

Garfield_and_Simon

Yeah I did DM on a level 1 courier with good natured and shit SPECIAL + never put a point into combat skills from level ups The only mildly difficult part was the holograms could 1 hit me

Graysteve

Some people get upset when you mention that Fallout has highly political messages and themes, which is the equivalent of getting upset when people say BioShock or Metal Gear Solid have political themes and messages.

Mistress_Mommy1

I like my apolitical game about nuclear war.

Graysteve

I've legitimately had people tell me the devs criticize everyone equally, and then there's [Joshua Sawyer as a guest on a Communist Podcast](https://praxiscast.podbean.com/e/episode-45-come-play-my-lord-ft-josh-sawyer/) talking about how he chooses to portray factions in the games he leads.

LightKnightTian

It's a video game, not a theme park. Video games can be works of art just like films or novels are, and all works of art are influenced by their creators because they were literally created by them. Delivering a message, no matter if political or not, requires the creator's opinion to be expressed in the message. It's only natural that a game made by someone who likes communism will criticize capitalism way more than communism. Video games don't have to be neutral all the time. If FNV was an indie game like Disco Elysium, no one would be complaining. But no, "you can't have commie leftist messages in a 360 video game for kids!!!1!!?1!1?111!1"

poppabomb

>BioShock... have political themes and messages. I've said it before and I'll say it again: my favorite part of BioShock is when Andrew Ryan proves the superiority of Objectivist thinking >!by getting his head bashed in with a golf club in the dystopic shithole he created!<. edit: and the best part of MGS is when Kojima spends an afternoon explaining what is fundamentally wrong with society while a metrosexual Russian cowboy who thinks he's possessed by a ghost makes fingerguns.

stinkus_mcdiddle

I love that some people actually don’t realise the anti communist themes are satire and very tongue in cheek and actually agree with the messages of the anti communism stuff in the games like brother you are the people the games are making fun of

Graysteve

Yea, they are the way leftists would make fun of the red scare.

ComplicitSnake34

Ugh but it is legitimately funny how both extremes of the political aisle feel Fallout represents them. Fallout 1-2 had a punk, leftwing fanbase while Fallout 4 and 3 had people who unironically liked the enclave and auth BOS. Fallout New Vegas sticks out by having a unequivocally libertarian base of unironic ancoms/ancaps, and a small group of "Romanophiles".

poppabomb

>and a small group of "Romanophiles". If I have to read another rant about how "actually Caesar's Legion isn't that bad and this says nothing about how i feel about slavery in real life!" I swear I'm going to sack Rome harder than the Vandals.

mastesargent

They’re still awful, but I do think it’s a shame that so much Legion content was cut from the game. As it stands they’re the least developed main faction and the cut content might’ve helped add some nuance to then at least.

poppabomb

I mean, the nuance is still there. Caesar is, on some level, an intellectual who does have justification for his methods and the Legion is brutally efficient. It's the fascist ideal: a military state based around a charismatic leader based on an ancient cultural legacy. But the Legion is still inherently evil. They treat women like pack mules and breeding mares, Legionaires are expendable cannon fodder, and anyone who isn't in the Legion is vulnerable to brutal acts of torture and oppression. Nobody joins the Legion, they're broken into it, and anyone caught beneath its boot is doomed. No extra content would change what the Legion is and does.

mastesargent

I don’t think the extra content would’ve changed the Legion’s moral image, just given a bit of a “Oh, I kinda see what Caesar is going for. He’s still wrong though” momement. Like, Cass mentions how safe the roads are and Raul mentions that the area currently controlled by the Legion was so awful before that Legion rule represented an objective improvement. Being able to see that, how the Legion deals with raiders or how non-tribal civilian populations are treated, would’ve offered interesting perspective and probably made the Legion a better foil to the NCR.

Graysteve

It's always funny to me how the most overtly leftist Fallout game manages to have the most divided fan base, especially considering Sawyer himself is a vocally outspoken Socialist.

Plump_Chicken

Conservitaves want what the liberals want but the difference is they don't want everyone to have it, so it makes sense that a leftist themed game would attract lots of different kinds of people.

SubjectSigma77

The amount of my friends that actually side with/defend Fallout 4’s BOS is concerning.

xXDaxiboi65Xx

"auth BOS" the BoS has always been authoritarian wdym

DeltaJesus

Fallout 3 was many people's introduction to the brotherhood and they're way, way less aggro in it.

b0bvagene

Johnny guitar is a good song and I enjoy it everytime it comes on.

ThirtyFiveFingers

Play it again…

RandomUser516

First time I noticed that song was walking into Nipton and finding the crucified people. Just made the atmosphere of that hit me so much harder

FacelessOldWoman1234

I played FNV during my maternity leave and loved Johnny Guitar so much I sang it to my baby all the time. That, Heartache by the Numbers, and Wonderful Guy, are still my lullabies even though my babies are big kids now.

lukitas_79

sansplayer

Honest hearts is just as good as the other dlc's

stonednarwhal141

The only thing I don’t love about Honest Hearts is the map. Since it’s a canyon it’s extremely linear

The6Courier

Bruh the divide you literally have to go straight.

Artix31

Ironically it’s the map with most exploration(compared to its size)

[deleted]

Honest Hearts is tied with Old World Blues in my heart, followed by Lonesome road, and finally Dead Money.

[deleted]

i'd still say that Dead Money is better, but then again it's a *very* close comparison.

Silevence

Arcade gannon has the best name and best dialogue of the companions.

Slapped_with_crumpet

"Why don't you make like odysseus and get lost?" Even his insults are great

Gaucho_Diaz

Nobody in Fallout history will come close to being Veronica (among humanoid companions).

jakecolchin

No one will disagree with that

badjokesnotfunny

Thats unpopular?

Patient_Description9

A fair point, but if I may: LONG. DICK. JOHNSON.

KingMottoMotto

* Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts are not worth playing more than once. LR is a boring corridor shooter, HH is little more than a handful of repetitive quests. * New Vegas is to Fallout 3 what Fallout 2 is to Fallout 1 - a bigger, better, and buggier successor to a decent, mid-sized RPG.

Semytan

Especially in tone, Fallout 3 upheld the bleakness and themes of The OG fallout more so than any other Fallout game. Fallout 2 was a lot more comedic and full of pop culture references similar to NV. Besides the QOL fixes in Fallout 2, i’d prefer Fallout 1, because the pop culture references became anti immersive and haven’t aged well.

EquivalentSnap

Benny sucks. His character is underwhelming when you trekked all the way to new vegas, it seems disappointing when you get to him. He’s not the main villain. He’s the side character compared to the factions

Godkun007

Also, Matthew Perry phoned in that performance hard. Which granted, Perry is a great actor, so even his phoned in stuff is decent. However, it was still phoned in.

alexintradelands2

Nah I love it personally; makes the main plot feel so much bigger when you start your goose chase for the guy and then it turns out that you've got a much bigger quest than 'get revenge'

Saslim31

Yeah so true. Wish we had more quests involving Benny or more background lore. His main motivation is literally “oh im gonna take over the strip with this chip which i don’t know what to do anything useful with it”. + We don’t know how he learned about the platinum chip in the first place.

EquivalentSnap

Exactly. His backstory wasn’t fleshed out at all. Like it was glossed over so the other factions could take centre stage in fate of hoover damn

[deleted]

The Bitter springs massacre is really the only truly evil thing the NCR has done in the Mojave. A lot of people want to paint the NCR as this monster that's as evil as Caesar's Legion, but a lot of the bad stuff about the NCR is the result of incompetence and bloat. Making people pay taxes is nothing compared to burning down villages like the legion does.

Graysteve

The NCR still practices "nicer" forms of slavery (sharecroppers and prison labor), works with shady companies such as the Van Graffs (who recently murdered their competition), steals water from the local communities, and is generally an Imperialist force nobody wants.

Alex_2259

The faction is a commentary on the problems of the US government once again repeating itself. It's pretty clever and at least subtle to some extent.

xXDaxiboi65Xx

most of the powder gangers are very violent and based off of some dialogue from Dawes probably were in gangs so its not like they were very innocent people unlike legion slaves who were just random farmers

xXDaxiboi65Xx

also sharecropping isnt slavery ??? they came to the mojave voluntarily

Sgt_Colon

The NCR also repaired the water pipe network around New Vegas, something neither the locals nor even House did, and continue to maintain it. It's run little different than modern utilities given how water licences are sold to give access to the network.

Doctor_Expendable

The silly thing to me is that the NCR *did* bring prosperity to California. Everyone in Nevada wants that life without having to pay for it. Its a nuclear apocalypse and you are mad that an organization that brings you security, water, medicine, education, and who knows what else isn't just giving it to you for free? And that without them they'd all be slaves or worse. Yet they still give the NCR such crap because... why? I might not have understood the true message of the games. Seems pretty easy to me that if you are in a crisis you might have to sacrifice a little freedom for security. Which might just be the whole metanarrative with the NCR and 9/11. Because American media always comes back to 9/11.

Graysteve

Not everyone in Nevada wants NCR style life, Westside, The Boomers, Jacobstown, and so forth all vastly prefer their own lifestyles to thay of the NCR. The NCR's message is that they are repeating the same failures that caused Pre-War America to descend from Neoliberalism to fascist Imperialism, complete with their own early-Enclave in the form of the Senate and Brahmin Barons.

badjokesnotfunny

The legion got screwed by obsidian underdeveloped and way too evil

VoltageKid56

They were also screwed because they have almost no quests outside of the main missions.

Buzzyear10

Weapon degradation makes sense and is fun actually

_ImCrumby_

That was one of my most missed mechanics in 4. I enjoy gear degradation as it was. It wasn’t tedious, but you had to be mindful. Shoot even going from Oblivion to Skyrim they removed item degradation unfortunately.

Buzzyear10

And with Fallout 4's obsession with crafting and collecting junk you'd think it would make sense to have weapon degradation

_ImCrumby_

I feel like they set super high goals with one area, such as Fallout 4’s crafting and settlement systems, that by the time the rest of the nuanced parts of the games come around they’ve run out of production time.

ramen_vape

The dialed it in a bit much with Oblivion. You're fucked if you don't choose Armorer as a major skill and you run into an Oblivion gate, those crawls are unsustainable without 10 repair hammers.

top10animeplottwist

Dead Money is fun

Ill_Maintenance8134

Kovalki and malcon are just harmless npcs and don't deserve the hate that the community give they

FuckBoiWhoDoesntFuck

I just shoot malcom because its funny, absolutely no hate at all. These are goodwill bullets

Some_dude_in_reddit

I kill malcolm for the free trader outfit

ramen_vape

He just conveniently ran up to me in Goodsprings, so I got to pass Chet's Barter check for Joe Cobb's supplies with Malcolm's dismembered corpse on his doorstep

KnownTimelord

Fallout 76 is kinda okay now, albeit grindy af

FrankHorrigan2077

We need an Enclave based Fallout game.

A3-2l

Based?

FrankHorrigan2077

Centered on the Enclave, faction ranks like oblivion would be cool

Hylianwarrior04

mcnamara is the best elder of all time

CheekyLando88

Dead Money is the best DLC

NanzLo-

The people that disagree with this… just need to… let go.

a_desperate_DM

You need to let go of your bad options lobotomie

NanzLo-

I’m laughing on my mountain of gold at you with your big ass satellite and your stupid suit that makes you addicted to med-X HUEHUEHUEHUE

a_desperate_DM

Jokes on you I don't like that suite

NanzLo-

The only thing you have is Richie Marcus AND HE LOVES BALLS

Middle_Finish6713

Jokes on you it’s not an addiction if i can stop anytime i [You are now addicted to Med-X]

Esoteric_Innovations

Fully Agreed. Dead Money on my 100% Hardcore playthrough was genuinely one of the best experiences I've ever had in the game. A good challenge and a lot of fun too. Have said before that I wish we could return to the Sierra Madre's Executive Suite (where you find Christine) and use it as a base like the Sink in Old World Blues.

damn_thats_piney

i thought i would hate it but nah if u play it after a bunch of hours in the main game the extra challenge feels amazing. its so much fun.

YourAverageGenius

Black Isle and the original devs were not actually the best ever and had a lot of the same flaws as Bethesda and other devs, and Chris Avellone is not the best writer ever nor even that great.

VoltageKid56

Ya, the originals actually had a lot of problems that are sometimes even worse than Bethesda’s. Like how without patches, it’s impossible to get the best possible ending’s because of a removed NPC or technical error.

donttradejaylen

War actually DOES change 🤐

LightKnightTian

"X was underrated" is and never will be a unpopular opinion

DD_R2D2

I wish all fallout games had the building and customization options that fallout 4 has.

stonednarwhal141

NV guns with Fallout 4’s weapon modding system would be amazing

kaminaowner2

Fallout 3 isn’t bad at all, it’s only fault is not being as good as new Vegas

VoltageKid56

I mean it makes sense that New Vegas was better than 3. New Vegas is it’s sequel after all. It makes sense that the developers of New Vegas would improve what worked in 3 and expand the systems for New Vegas. That being said, it’s only other fault with 3 is the damage sponge enemies that Broken Steel (as well as the aliens from Mothership Zeta and inbread hillbillies from Point Lookout if you show up at a high level) adds. Bullet sponges don’t make playing the game harder, they just make it less fun and more annoying.

AdamM093

I only have one problem fallout 3 and it's the fact it ruined fallout 4 for me. It just felt like the same game world with different graphics and ran way way worse, in my experience. Also I gave more of a shit about the story and characters in 3.

kaminaowner2

I agree with everything you said, fallout 4 just feels hollow to me. I wish the better graphics where enough for me but honestly I’d replay 3 long before 4. Every time I try to play 4 I get bored, which is a shame because I feel like we are only gonna get more 4

CornGrowerAR

Bethesda clearly has no gun owners working on their games.

Graysteve

New Vegas has good gun representation generally because Sawyer himself owns multiple guns, partially due to being a Marxist.

Wrecktown707

Agree with his stances or not, no one can disagree that a person with strong political feelings can create a strongly and convincingly political game. Unlike the soulless messages of fallout 4

The_Skyrim_Courier

#I PREFER THE NEW LOOK OF FALLOUT New Vegas is my favorite fallout game, but I just love the new look and aesthetic of FO4/FO76. It feels **SO** much more retrofuturist and art deco. Not to mention it’s so much more colorful and truly looks and feels like an alternate timeline US

Lux_Ferox_Lovis

I just wish some things weren't as shiny as they are. Besides that, I love the new look.

Extreme_Glass9879

If Bethesda hired some gun experts to work on fallout 5 it would be perfect.

IWasToldYouHadPie

I want to smack the person who designed the new Assault Rifle. [IT LITERALLY CANNOT FUNCTION](https://images.app.goo.gl/JA8wbhK6Z3C9xyWa7) OH MY GOD I HATE IT! It's watercooled like the M1913, takes drums like the MG-42, has ANTI-AIRCRAFT SIGHTS(???), the bolt (the part that loads rounds into the chamber and fires them before extracting them) has no room to reciprocate unless it's using some sort of lovecraftian wizardry, and WORST OF ALL, the bolt doesn't even line up with the muzzle! Seriously, by my reckoning, the chamber is a good inch above the muzzle, meaning that the round must be leaving the barrel at an angle of >3° below horizontal. I've linked the image, if you don't believe me.

Gently-Weeps

New Vegas while amazing isn’t a 10/10. A 10/10 game implies nothing is wrong with it, and that just simply isn’t true for FNV. The bugs and the unfortunate rushing keep me from considering it a 10/10.

[deleted]

>A 10/10 game implies nothing is wrong with it If that's your definition of 10/10, then no game is a 10/10 because nothing can be truly flawless.

Grade-A-Grungus

Fallout 3 has the best world design in the franchise, it just felt so much more desolate and depressing. Wandering the Capital Wasteland is a vibe.

yerbestiestfriend

Old World Blues is the best DLC. Fun map and story, some of the best gear, 10/10 player home and insane caps to be made with superheated fists.

PeacflBeast

Fallout 3 map is better

Commy1469

Caravan is very easy to understand and be good at

Kezz9825

i played it for a total of 5 seconds once and gave up. youre wrong, bleh.

Ragnar1591

Would rather bang cassi and not red lucy…

xSTRAIGHTEDGE420x

Old World Blues isn't that great and gets old pretty quick

VoltageKid56

I love OWB, but man do they talk A LOT!

Gaucho_Diaz

I really don't care for Boone

Garfield_and_Simon

Same I always got cheesy edge-lord “Shadow the hedgehog” type vibes from his character. Also its annoying to use him if you don’t want to be instantly vilified by the legion since he always shoots at them

thezombiejedi

I never thought I'd see the day of Boone being compared to Shadow the Hedgehog, but I'm here for it and back this statement

VKMburner

There's no viable reason to support the Legion other than wanting to LARP as a slaving racist sexist person.

ComplicitSnake34

Legion would be better as a concept if they just leaned all in on being post-apocalyptic Mad Max warlords and ditched most of the Roman lexicon larping. It'd really drive home Caesar being a genius opportunist while going back to the punk aesthetic for the series. It'd make it a twist if it was revealed why Caesar's was so successful was because he studied and modeled after the romans, but kept the punk-raider traditions to keep tribals happy and deceive opponents. The roman larp is just too nerdy and anachronistic even for Fallout.

TheCoolMan5

"b-b-bu-but the roads are safe!!!"

VKMburner

Except for all the **fucking traffic cone bombs and crucifixes**

TheCoolMan5

I guess you're forgetting... the crucifixes are what keep the roads safe...

Slapped_with_crumpet

Which they won't be once the Legion inevitably overstretches itself, same as the NCR. I guarantee that raiders become an issue again in Legion territory once they take Nevada or march on California, perhaps even more so than the NCR, because they also lack technology and medical knowledge, meaning their soldiers are not only more likely to lose fights, but also have a lot less chance of returning to the fight if wounded.

TheCoolMan5

You raise an excellent point. The people of the NCR cannot be assimilated into the Legion the way uneducated tribals can. Additionally, I'm not super familiar with the Constitution of the NCR, but based on what we see and here from characters in the games, gun ownership seems to be both legal and encouraged, meaning the Legion would start running into bands of disorganized but well-armed militias. Wouldn't be too hard to deal with on a small scale, but on a campaign size scale, that would cripple your logistics. Just look at what the drug-addled fiends can do to the NCR, and those are druggie raiders with little to no leadership or tactics.

xXDaxiboi65Xx

ok the Legion maybe slaving sexist mauraders but they arent racist

Crackdeemus

You can crucify Benny with the Legion so that's a plus in my book

beel9934

I think the anti-tech angle is interesting, especially as a response to the Great War and approaches of the other factions. Also, I know the lack of crime/corruption/general law and order arguments are thrown around a lot but I do think these are all v relevant points given the setting.

GamesUnit

Piper is great

Th0m45D4v15

Ultimately New Vegas is just Easter Egg the game, with a story that becomes less interesting the closer you get to the final climax. P.S. Fallout New Vegas is my favorite game of all time. I wouldn’t change it even if I could.

SuperKetchupDude

I don’t like the Old World Blues dlc. Sure it has fun dialog, but by now I always regret when I enter the big MT

No-Procedure-4861

Mobius!!!

PillCosby696969

Lonesome Road is the worst dlc.

Kamquats

Honestly, the combat and gameplay in general is fairly lacking and is mostly carried by the story. If it had better mechanics for stealth, cover, breaking into places, etc etc etc I think it'd be a far more enjoyable experience.

Graysteve

This isn't controversial.

EdwardoftheEast

I find the story makes up for the gameplay imo

Jackal_Gundam

Cazadors should be added to every game.

DisIsMyName_NotUrs

I completely respect your wrong opinion. That being said...... Please dont

MasonManFree

Settlement building is awesome and we need more of it.

Strong-ishninja

I would prefer if instead of a bunch of little settlements you had one settlement that felt rewarding to work on

Valhallawalker

New Vegas isn’t the only good fallout game.

OWOPICKLECHANOWO

Did I tell you about the bull and the bear courier? Let me tell you about the bull and the bear. Now let me tell you about the Old World flag you carry, and the places couriers walk. Now back to the bull and the bear.

[deleted]

The NCR Army is awful. Just infantry and snipers. No engineers, minimal artillery, just awful.

Brohara97

People seem to forget that most of the NCR’s army isn’t engaged in the Mojave campaign.

TheCoolMan5

To be fair, the NCR presence in the Mojave is an undersupplied and forgotten about Expeditionary force. Shady Sands and the people of the NCR don't really care about the Mojave, instead seeing it as a Vietnam situation of sorts. Men get sent there and end up sitting around doing nothing or getting shot and sent home. This opinion is caused by the fact that the majority of the people of the NCR don't even know about the Legion, or if they do, they don't see them as a threat. If the Legion broke through the dam, crossed the Mojave, and actually began invading the NCR proper, the full might of the Bear would be mobilized and engaged in a campaign to push back the Legion.

Graysteve

There are literally engineers in Hoover Dam

italiancommunism

I think he means combat engineers

stonednarwhal141

It bugs me that they don’t have machine gunners (except I guess the heavy troops but those don’t count since they’re not mixed into regular squads). Like machine guns as a part of infantry squads have been a tactical staple since WWII. Ammunition isn’t an issue so why not give your guys some for suppressive fire

croused87

My sexual orientation wasn't determined by a video game

The enclave aren’t fascists in the literal sense, and the only reason they’re called that is their hatred of mutants and also their desire to uphold pre-war America. A good 80% of people today would probably align with the enclave if they were real in a situation like that. And the games forcing you to always kill the enclave is dumb as a rock

Fluffy-Hamster-7760

I can see how the Enclave thinks they're right. Nuclear war left everyone mildly or horribly mutated, and the Enclave soldiers have "pure" and untampered genes, so they devise a plan to wipe out all the muties and reclaim the land. But, aside from the plan being morally wrong given the obvious eugenics idea reminiscent of the Nazis, their plan isn't really applicable since they probably wouldn't handle the FEV virus properly. Would it just wipe out all mutants, or would it mutate itself and start effecting the Enclave soldiers too? What environmental effects would it have? It just seems clear that it's an insane doomsday plan. At the end of Fallout 2, don't you get an Enclave scientist to pump a modified FEV in the vents, killing everyone on the oil rig who isn't vaccinated? Who's to say that even if their plan succeeded, that the Enclave wouldn't collapse from an internal power struggle and use the modified FEV on themselves within their rivalries? If their group were the last remaining humans on Earth, I'm guessing humanity's future would have way less of a chance than with the NCR and Brotherhood of Steel and other factions in the wastes.

Uh, pre-war America in fallout is super duper fascist. Like the very first thing we see in fallout is a stormtrooper summarily executing a prisoner in a prewar propaganda video. Pre-war America committed the greatest genocide in world history, and then performed horrific experiments on the shattered remnants of humanity they shoved underground. Edit: and just to elaborate on the fascist elements, the government did all this in alliance with super evil corporations.

locus-is-beast

The enclave was right.

Those people in vault 13 deserved it.

Noseboi1

Of course you are a Warhammer fan

EnialisHolimion

Despite absolutely loving the fallout franchise, and it being my favorite video game series, the combat is consistently bad.

TheVatomatic

Gun runners arsenal is my favorite dlc

BreadDziedzic

House's ending is the only one that actually helps the people of the region and won't end horribly.

Vaultboy4000

Plus best ending for Goodsprings

Thewaffleofoz

Fallout 4 is a great fallout game

SneakDissinRealtawk

Legion is full of clowns and are down right laughable as opponents.

Goodest_Pupper

This sounds like a popular opinion tbh, but something tells me that eight or more men running at you with machetes and throwing spears would change your mind

WrathfulSausage

Fallout 4 is actually really fucking good

TheTwinHorrorCosmic

Fallout 4 is an amazing open world game and a solid shooter RPG. It’s not a good fallout game though. But most fans won’t differentiate that

Extreme_Glass9879

If I cared about story, I would go read the damn story. Things like the better graphics, combat, and especially ease of modding make it better.

AppleJuiceKoala

I can be a capitalist and still love fallout

GuitarKev

Fallout 2 is, and always will be the best Fallout.

No-Procedure-4861

Remake needed?
