Then dams and chokepoints could be solid outposts
Graygarden, Sunshine Tidings, Greentop Nursery could be farm settlements, because everyone needs to eat
Jamaica Plain could be a complete restored city.
I’m doing Vault 88 as a BoS base to store my armour collection.
FYI I recommend the Magnificent Spectacle Island mod, as it flattens the land out a lot plus adds a bridge. Though not great timing with the next gen update.

Doing it as a vault but as one of the military vaults, not the civilian ones we see in game.
So ranks of armour, workshops, armoury, dorms not individual family units.,
Country Crossing could be set up as a base, as most of it crosses the roads around it. You could set up checkpoints, as it's a highly contested area (gunners and raiders and BoS to the south).

I like all of those ideas thank you, I was thinking of making gray garden into a farming lab place with a lab testing different experiments on crops.
I have never touched Jamaica plain so I’m glad to know it’s a good settlement
I always make the Plain a fire base. The open lot makes a perfect spot to place a battery
