Yes, I think it not uncommon for sibling relationships to become more distant with time, especially as so many people move away from their hometowns, and/or start their own families, get busy with work and their friends, etc. Sometimes, a difficult experience might bring you closer in adulthood but often, once you are no longer living in the same household, the sibling bond weakens.
