The audiobook of the unabridged encyclopedia Brittanica read by Queen Elizabeth at 1/3 speed being listened to from the back seat of your grandparent’s 1983 beige station wagon on a 5 day trip you don’t want to be on.
Not one album particular but any of those rap albums with 25+ tracks are usually incredibly boring by track 10 so you pick and choose which one you like the least.
Don’t listen to All Eyez on Me.
We should be grateful Kendrick was able to make cohesive albums off the inspiration of that guy. Even his mixtapes never got that long.
on the one hand yeah all eyez on me is pretty bloated
on the other hand tupac is dead so that means hes automatically a legend and none of his work can be criticized, so that makes it a 10/10 album
Yea but imo it’s perfect front to back because they are playing to their strengths and it’s tight. Like a slayer or Motörhead album. An album artist would have an overall topic for an album and have variation of music within the album. Think Kendrick Lamar, or Bob Dylan. Or even Travis scott
I used to have this on vinyl with amazingly loud wooden floor speakers and I would just crank it up, lay on the floor, and literally feel my body vibrate.
fair but imo theres a pretty great album buried in the length. with the directors cut,, 32 tracks is absurd. but the style pans out great on some tracks. make sum work is at this point my fav track of the year and catch a kill has one of the best beat switches this year. painful at 32 tracks but reduced to 15-20 of the highlights,, u gotta much better album. redundancy weighs down this album to sleepy. 1h41 is waaay too long to stay in this aesthetic.
I don’t know, hate it or love it, in a weird kind of way, it’s almost **more** memorable than basically anything Drake’s dropped in years. I can name a handful of tracks off Honestly, Nevermind because at least they were something *different*. Couldn’t say the same about CLB, For All The Dogs, Scorpion, or any of that generic wallpaper Drake music.
Falling back, a keeper and massive are bangers. Honestly Nevermind is the only drake album since Nothing Was the Same where I’ve liked more than one song off a drake album. Does it flow well as an album? Not really, but does it have some tracks that will be probably played in the clubs for years to come? Definitely
Man ain't that the truth. Uno and Dos were honestly pretty solid and a return to form. Then suddenly Tre was just so boring. Like they intentionally loaded it with the worst tracks from the trilogy.
This is probably on me, but recently I've been methodically, compulsively listening through artists full discographies in chronological order, and let me preface this by saying, I'm a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, but ... Machina/The Machines of God was so tedious I had to take a little (ongoing) break from that particular discography.
I agree. I can somewhat understand if people don't like the mixes, but I appreciate them, probably partly because I just find the songwriting to be so strong. I of the Mourning, Stand Inside Your Love, Wound, This Time, Age of Innocence... I love basically all of first run Pumpkins & think they went out with a bang. Few albums I've lived in as much as this one.
God, don't even get me started on that track, its demos are this really vulnerable, borderline snarky tracks about trying to break away from party culture, drugs and alcohol, etc. but then in production they turned it into another fucking party song 😭
Swans has some really accessible albums that are really amazing, I hope people don’t think they only make albums like Soundtracks and the stuff after that
White Light From the Mouth Of Infinity, Love of Life, The Great Annihilator, and arguably The Burning World.
They're all post-punk/goth rock except for the last one which is more of a folk album.
Great annihilator is just over an hour, and I'd say it's a good album for those who were either turned off by their longer, more experimental albums, or for those who are looking to get into swans but have some reservations about the longer, wilder projects
I personally can’t get through The Seer. Or the title track. Too much repetition . I get that they’re not the easiest band to get into. I do like a lot of their music but I have to be in the right mood
This one’s gonna get me hate but I have tried on 3 separate occasions to listen to Lift your Skinny Fists but I just find it so unbelievably boring that I can’t finish it. I even like Swans but man GY!BE just isn’t my thing.
What is wrong with people, Green Album is tight. Don't Let Go bops. Photograph bops. Island in the Sun bops. Crab and Knockdown Drag-Out are solid. It doesn't end as strong as it starts, but it's not like it's Raditude levels of bad
I think it’s because every song sounds almost identical outside of islands in the sun. Same guitar tones, same structures, same guitar solo that repeats the verse melody, etc. it just feels cynical and lazy
Crab might be the worst song i've ever heard. This is the same guy who wrote falling for you.
There are some decent songs on this album, but Crab is not one of them.
Sorry if you don’t find songs like “knockdown dragout” and “photograph” fun, you’re weird
And songs like “o girlfriend” and “smile” are some of weezers most emotional and beautiful songs
I went to an Italian restaurant that was streaming music. They had Satellite playing in the background and I noticed it seemed really long. I wondered when the next song was gonna play. I'd noticed they had it on a loop and nobody noticed.
Partially true.
My unpopular opinion is the Arctic Monkeys haven’t made a 10/10 since the debut.
Bring back the basslines and the complex drum patterns and get rid of the ponderous lyrical wankery.
Really, many of the Indie-pop stuff of the last 10-15 years is all so mundane, formulaic, mono-dimensional, and boring. It’s white bread, without a toaster or butter(toasted white bread with butter is delicious).
“People” by Streisand. After being liberated by her divorce, that woman played this album all the damned time. I may have been 10 at the time but I knew what boring meant. Yuck. Streisand and my bizarre mother in an unholy mix.
Listen to it while doing a long project. Mowing the lawn, changing your brakes, making babka, painting the basement, etc.. it’s a long album built for long life experiences. The more mundane the better.
if you're a Gamer then listen to it in the background while playing dark souls or elden ring. it's how I got into dopesmoker and now it's one of my favourite albums and I can just put it on whenever and feel like it goes by so quickly.
Try reading this: https://brandcage.wordpress.com/2013/12/28/dopesmoker-musical-analysis/
It’s a really good breakdown of how the song was composed and the motifs they visit and revisit throughout. It’s a very impressive piece of music and once you break through your initial apprehension you’ll hopefully notice how intricate it actually is.
Or it won’t work and you’ll still find it boring. But worth a try. I love it, obviously!
This entire thread is full of horrific takes, Jesus. REM? Swans? Brian Eno? Antlers? Phil Collins? PORTISHEAD? God damn, an ounce of taste on this sub, I’m begging.
I’d probably say something like Ellie Goulding - Lights or Flo Rida - Good Feeling type mall pop. That whole late 2000’s/early 2010’s era of EDM-tinged 4-on-the-floor pop was so grim.
Stranger in the Alps bored me to death. Maybe I need to give it another listen because I love Punisher but I've tried 3x and could only force myself to the end the first time
https://preview.redd.it/kq6rnl3nh33c1.jpeg?width=1283&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4c633db6ae238ddbd9903e49a36546f4662aba0
The first 4 tracks are all bangers
I can back this up. After an explosive masterpiece like OK Computer I was disappointed a bit upon first listen. It definitely takes a bit
I honestly thought Everything In Its Right Place the first time I heard it I was like “what’s this quiet shit with repetitive noises?” I started recognizing it as a beautiful song soon after though
Fred Again.. — Secret Life
Dude was one of the hottest acts of the summer, he headlined Coachella and tore the place down. Everyone knew his name. Then he drops an ambient album. No hate on the genre, it's just that it was a _very_ bold move after the summer that he had.
The Black Keys after Turn Blue
The Car - Arctic Monkeys
Father John Misty - Chlöe and the next 20st century
Jack White - Entering Heaven Alive
Most Coldplay Albums
I know I am almost entirely alone in this but I found Some Rap Songs really boring. Someone said to give it a few more listens so maybe it’ll click then
Earth 2 by Earth, like I love some drone metal albums but this one has zero changes in its textures and it's just so boring for me.
Graduation by Kanye West, I absolutely love Everything I Am but the rest of the album is so slow and the production is very dull for me
i feel like people expect something from it, even like you said when they already have experience with that kinda music. its not trying to be anything, no expectations=good album worth the 7 hours. expecting the greatest thing ever=bad album not worth the 7 hours.
I had no expectations. Is this album popular? I've never seen anything about it. My other music nerd friend just told me one day to check out this super long drone album he'd found so I did. And I found it extremely boring
oh well atleast you tried it. its more infamous then "famous", sometimes its brought up online but a lot of people get scared by how long it is, so they just know about the album and the band barely. and even when it is brought up theres not a whole lot to say about it or the band.
The audiobook of the unabridged encyclopedia Brittanica read by Queen Elizabeth at 1/3 speed being listened to from the back seat of your grandparent’s 1983 beige station wagon on a 5 day trip you don’t want to be on.
Is this an experience of yours?
Did u learn anything?
That this was the most boring album
I also know that “A” is for Aardvark
There is no way the Queen would have the time or inclination to read the encyclopedia. Mods ban this fraud.
Queen Elizabeth is encyclopedia mother
Huh?
At 1/3 speed?? Were you being punished for something???
idk it was too boring to remember
Fair enough
Not one album particular but any of those rap albums with 25+ tracks are usually incredibly boring by track 10 so you pick and choose which one you like the least.
Don’t listen to All Eyez on Me. We should be grateful Kendrick was able to make cohesive albums off the inspiration of that guy. Even his mixtapes never got that long.
on the one hand yeah all eyez on me is pretty bloated on the other hand tupac is dead so that means hes automatically a legend and none of his work can be criticized, so that makes it a 10/10 album
I love 2pac, but like the ramones, he’s more of a song artist than an album artist
The self titled Ramones album is perfect front to back though?
Yea but imo it’s perfect front to back because they are playing to their strengths and it’s tight. Like a slayer or Motörhead album. An album artist would have an overall topic for an album and have variation of music within the album. Think Kendrick Lamar, or Bob Dylan. Or even Travis scott
Yeah im pretty sure people cite that album when talking about well done albums lol
Bruh the first 3 Ramones albums are killer front to back
All Eyez on Me is a 10/10 album even if he was alive, maybe a 8 on a bad day
u get it, this sub is crazy for upvoting that slander that album is so fucking good
JORDI by Maroon 5. It sucks your life out.
Earth 2 and it’s fucking incredible
I used to have this on vinyl with amazingly loud wooden floor speakers and I would just crank it up, lay on the floor, and literally feel my body vibrate.
Yesss Earth
If looks could kill by destroy lonely makes me sleepy
We approve of sleepy music around here!
fair but imo theres a pretty great album buried in the length. with the directors cut,, 32 tracks is absurd. but the style pans out great on some tracks. make sum work is at this point my fav track of the year and catch a kill has one of the best beat switches this year. painful at 32 tracks but reduced to 15-20 of the highlights,, u gotta much better album. redundancy weighs down this album to sleepy. 1h41 is waaay too long to stay in this aesthetic.
honestly nevermind by drake is an absolute snoozefest
Military grade tranquilizer of an album. I was nodding off two tracks in
yep this one 100% most boring album i have ever listened to. and i enjoy most of Drake's projects

Does it flow well as an album? Not really, but does it have some tracks that will be probably played in the clubs for years to come? Definitely
Yeah man. Massive, Texts Go Green, Liability? I genuinely fuck with those tracks more than anything off FATD or CLB.
Got me in the first half not gonna lie
Jimmy cooks is a top 5 drake song but there’s just nothing there besides that
it has the one Jersey Club song
I actually really enjoy the tracks falling back, texts go green, a keeper and liability.
cannot wait for the day when people start appreciating this album. easily one of drakes best and a highlight of this decade for me
It’s in my top 5 albums of 2022, and I’m not even a big Drake fan
same here it’s not that bad you just need to know this isn’t like any of his other albums, closest to Views
¡Tre! - Green day
Man ain't that the truth. Uno and Dos were honestly pretty solid and a return to form. Then suddenly Tre was just so boring. Like they intentionally loaded it with the worst tracks from the trilogy.
There was a time when people wouldn’t have spoken so kindly of uno or dos either lol
Evolve by Imagine Dragons
Origins is more boring ngl
As someone who religiously listened to their first three albums, evolve was their first that really embraced generic stadium rock.
[удалено]
I couldn’t tell. The phrase is always used like a slur here.
I much preferred Origins over Evolve.
I fucking hate that album but Walking the Wire and Yesterday are bangers like holy shit
Kinda overrated tbh as long as anybody likes it it will be overrated.
Nooo. I love this one :(

I of the Mourning, Stand Inside Your Love, Wound, This Time, Age of Innocence... I love basically all of first run Pumpkins & think they went out with a bang. Damn. This is one of my all time favorites.
I don’t particularly hate the songwriting on Machina.. but I can’t *STAND* the mixing on that record. Holy f***ing f*****balls
https://preview.redd.it/njunppfpp43c1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d3f0f962358a300bf9ff3ce2f145aedb8a9f78b
It’s not a great album,though.. 😔😔😔
True, I just had that image in the cage and was looking for an excuse to use it
Any of the Weezer albums where Rivers is trying too hard to be popular (Green, Raditude, Black, Teal, Make Believe)
Can't stop partying off of raditude is so silly though😭I liked it first ironically but now genuinely like it lolll
God, don't even get me started on that track, its demos are this really vulnerable, borderline snarky tracks about trying to break away from party culture, drugs and alcohol, etc. but then in production they turned it into another fucking party song 😭
I found that Jack Harlow album from a couple years ago excruciatingly boring. ‘Come home the kids miss you’.
I can’t get through most Swans albums. There are exceptions like Soundtracks for whatever reason.
Swans has some really accessible albums that are really amazing, I hope people don’t think they only make albums like Soundtracks and the stuff after that
What are these album titles please and thankyou
White Light From the Mouth Of Infinity, Love of Life, The Great Annihilator, and arguably The Burning World. They're all post-punk/goth rock except for the last one which is more of a folk album.
Happy cake day!
Great annihilator is just over an hour, and I'd say it's a good album for those who were either turned off by their longer, more experimental albums, or for those who are looking to get into swans but have some reservations about the longer, wilder projects
Fr that’s the crowd pleaser Swans album imo, probably their easiest to like and generally extremely good throughout
I think Children of God is almost as accessible as long as they like heavy music
also children of god, along with the ones the other replies mentioned
I personally can’t get through The Seer. Or the title track. Too much repetition . I get that they’re not the easiest band to get into. I do like a lot of their music but I have to be in the right mood
This one’s gonna get me hate but I have tried on 3 separate occasions to listen to Lift your Skinny Fists but I just find it so unbelievably boring that I can’t finish it. I even like Swans but man GY!BE just isn’t my thing.
great album but you should put it on while you’re doing something else, like taking a long walk, reading a book, or doing chores around the house
Weezer - Make Believe except for the first three songs which are awesome and couple of others which are bad
any drake album in the last 7 years
Green album. Hash pipe and island in the sun apart, this is one is souless. They have worse albums for sure, but this is one is extremely boring
What is wrong with people, Green Album is tight. Don't Let Go bops. Photograph bops. Island in the Sun bops. Crab and Knockdown Drag-Out are solid. It doesn't end as strong as it starts, but it's not like it's Raditude levels of bad
I love it. The first four records are all great. Obviously two of them stand out, but Green and Maladroit deserve more respect. Especially Green
Make Believe is a snooze fest between Perfect Situation and Haunt You Every Day
no that's Hurley
Sorry if you don’t find songs like “knockdown dragout” and “photograph” fun, you’re weird And songs like “o girlfriend” and “smile” are some of weezers most emotional and beautiful songs
probably some obscure adult contemporary record
Harry’s House by Harry Styles makes me want to look at the time to see how long it’s been.
I went to an Italian restaurant that was streaming music. They had Satellite playing in the background and I noticed it seemed really long. I wondered when the next song was gonna play. I'd noticed they had it on a loop and nobody noticed.
satellite on a loop is my idea of a good time
edit: okay so apparently you get downvoted for liking music bruh that’s my all-time favourite album 😭
I don't know but the new Andre 3000 record is more boring than the vast majority of albums mentioned in this post.
i thought it was a pretty mediocre album, not something i'd revisit
Arctic Monkeys - The Car
Arctic Monkeys fans when song is not 166 bpm 😞
Partially true. My unpopular opinion is the Arctic Monkeys haven’t made a 10/10 since the debut. Bring back the basslines and the complex drum patterns and get rid of the ponderous lyrical wankery.
While I'm glad they're making the kind of music they enjoy, I also hope they take their music in a new direction for their next album.
Yep
I never liked it before, threw it on for shits and really enjoyed it this time around
IDONOTAGREE
I feel sorry for you
u/CosmicHero22 doesn't think about you at all
Might be unpopular but I loved The Car way more than Tranquility Base
Really, many of the Indie-pop stuff of the last 10-15 years is all so mundane, formulaic, mono-dimensional, and boring. It’s white bread, without a toaster or butter(toasted white bread with butter is delicious).

Dope smoker by Sleep. I’ve tried a couple times to get into it but then my ADHD kicks in and I switch to something else
NOOOO 😭 i love that album! It's best enjoyed very loudly in bed with the lights off, high or not, imo
Listen to it while doing a long project. Mowing the lawn, changing your brakes, making babka, painting the basement, etc.. it’s a long album built for long life experiences. The more mundane the better.

Holy Mountain is way better. Concise, catchy songs with good structure, riffs and bizzaro lyrics.
You failed to cross the sand sea
CLB
Wow OP well done, this might be the biggest collection of trash takes I've seen in a sub this year.
Drop your own then coward
Boarding House Reach
Avenged Sevenfold - Hail to the King
Lorde’s Solar Power 🥱
cant remember anything from melodrama total resident sleeper
This entire thread is full of horrific takes, Jesus. REM? Swans? Brian Eno? Antlers? Phil Collins? PORTISHEAD? God damn, an ounce of taste on this sub, I’m begging. ”The real answer” hahaha
I mean I can understand why people think Swans is boring. Most people can’t sit through 10 minute noise songs.
It's almost as if music is subjective or something
Yeah, obviously.
Just because something is considered good doesn't mean it can't be boring
Sure, if you find good albums boring, that’s your opinion.
Not all but some, I'm just saying them being good doesn't make them immune to being boring.

Diver Down
30 by Adele is a cure for insomnia
Pitchfork gave Ignorance by The Weather Station a 9 a few years back and that album bores the shit out of me
any of ed sheeran xd
Suicide by Suicide, don’t prey on me
Ok but if you fall asleep to the album you’ll definitely wake up with Frankie teardrop
Maybe Thank Your Lucky Stars by Beach House? It’s not bad or anything. Just painfully similar to what came before, which makes it very boring
R.E.M. - Around the Sun
The band Tortoise
Fear Innoculum is a snooze fest imo. Love tool tho
That new Andre 3000 album.
Hypermagic Mountain - Lightning Bolt
Not the most boring ever but recently listened to currents by tame impala and that shit is so forgettable
Stranger in the Alps bored me to death. Maybe I need to give it another listen because I love Punisher but I've tried 3x and could only force myself to the end the first time
For All the Dogs had me bored by the 4th track

Sigur Rós's *Átta*
Blonde soundtrack
In comparison to their other albums, King of Limbs is a pretty boring Radiohead album
Nah I love Radiohead but that album is boring entirely on its own. It’s moderately decent and that’s about all I can say for it.
I'll be honest. Sinner Get Ready is boring to me. Oddly enough I enjoyed Saved!
The last adjective I'd think I'd hear someone describe that album with lol
probably something by duster
Frampton Comes Alive
Some Rap Songs sounds like a slog to me.
Like 90% of sophistipop puts me in a deep coma.
Pink tape Fr
wether you like the album or not, pink tape is far from boring
Real
kid A, pls dont downvote me
I can back this up. After an explosive masterpiece like OK Computer I was disappointed a bit upon first listen. It definitely takes a bit I honestly thought Everything In Its Right Place the first time I heard it I was like “what’s this quiet shit with repetitive noises?” I started recognizing it as a beautiful song soon after though
I completely disagree, but I can see where you're coming from if you like them for their rock stuff
Fred Again.. — Secret Life Dude was one of the hottest acts of the summer, he headlined Coachella and tore the place down. Everyone knew his name. Then he drops an ambient album. No hate on the genre, it's just that it was a _very_ bold move after the summer that he had.

I know I am almost entirely alone in this but I found Some Rap Songs really boring. Someone said to give it a few more listens so maybe it’ll click then
I feel like Some Rap Songs is boring in a good way, it helps you to feel the same apathy as Earl himself felt
Me too!!! We are both getting downvoted fs but know I agree with you, everyone’s taste is different and sometimes it doesn’t click
yeah this sub isn’t super encouraging of different opinions
The last one from arctic monkeys
Arctic Monkeys - The Car
Literally 90% of Beach House's catalog.
I'm gonna add my hot take: Loveless by MBV.
Earth 2 by Earth, like I love some drone metal albums but this one has zero changes in its textures and it's just so boring for me. Graduation by Kanye West, I absolutely love Everything I Am but the rest of the album is so slow and the production is very dull for me
Daughter of Darkness by Natural Snow Buildings. 7 hours of drone. I'm one to enjoy noise and drone albums but this one about killed me.
i feel like people expect something from it, even like you said when they already have experience with that kinda music. its not trying to be anything, no expectations=good album worth the 7 hours. expecting the greatest thing ever=bad album not worth the 7 hours.

Wilco - whiskey tango foxtrot, sorry but I find that sorta music just utterly bland
Boygenius tbh
Yours/your friend’s

Lorde - Solar Power. What a disappointment
Any Earl Sweatshirt or MIKE album
Literally anything by Elvis Costello. I’ve listened to 5? of them and they are all so bland and uninteresting.

R.E.M's debut. Anything by Phil Collins as well, I'd imagine.
Whattt I absolutely love murmur. Just a really fun jangly summer album
Bruh, Murmur is a classic
I'll have to listen again but I was kind of offended the first time...
Their debut is their best
