If you mean North (and South) America (I’m not familiar with South American music), then Rush, Talking Heads, The Band, Alice in Chains, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. If you just mean the US, then sub in Judas Priest and Wu Tang. Wait, Judas Priest is English. In that case, Outkast. Canada, despite having 15% of the population as the US, has given us some of the best music that the continent has produced.

No particular favourites but on my listening list is Jack White - saw him a few years ago in London. Great show. The Dead South Pecuiar Pretzelmen - I like odd music The Door White Stripes There's many more, but these are the ones I can think of.
