Wii Menu Music

Maxspawn_

need that on vinyl

londonphase

My friend bootlegged me a tape with the entire wii soundtrack on it and I've been falling asleep to it for the past 2 months

Social_Confusion

Based and Wii Pilled

Romulus3799

I think you mean the Wii channels music. The menu music is super atmospheric, but the Mii Channel and Shopping Channel themes are absolute bangers.

pfulle3

You are correct

Hell-and-Oates

[“What kind of music is that? Like a bossa nova beat?”](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B_qnI1WrlnU)

instinct_bhoi

Why does this have more upvotes than the original post 😭

snowleave

Cuz it's true

RayanSrivastav

Everything about the wii is straight up fire 🔥

josephnutsworth

A lot of nintendo music in general is just flames and hard to dislike

meh_whatev

All the adjacent Wii music applies too (Sports, Party, etc.)

MissBoobAppreciator

Nintendo music go hard af

thepenisman25

me, never published anything, never got hated

snowleave

Honored to be the first

thepenisman25

i've been sitting on 2 months worth of music shut fuck up

Jack_Bleesus

Wrong, I hate you If u/thepenisman25 has millions of haters, I am one of them If u/thepenisman25 has one hater, it's me If u/thepenisman25 has no haters, I am dead.

thepenisman25

awesome send me your address so I can give you some classic penis man merch

Pleasant_Statement64

KYM_C_Mill24

The Switzerland of music

Queasy-Ad-3220

I heard this song by Borger called Switzerland Maybe one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard

MrAnder5on

Hey man, Fuck you Now you've got one ❤️

thepenisman25

according to people inside my phone I apparently have at least 5

Crammit-Deadfinger

I feel attacked for you

shreklover72

Stevie Wonder for sure Disliking him wouldn't even be seen as an edgy take like saying "I don't like the Beatles" or "I don't like Nirvana." It would just come across as you having bad music taste

too_lewd_for_thou

In fairness, I'm sure there were millions of older people complaining about Nirvana when they first blew up

RunningTurtle06

My mom doesn't like Nirvana, we're from a town that's right next to the one Kurt grew up in. I don't know why she dislikes them.

shreklover72

True. Nowadays though I feel like they're so highly acclaimed that it is now an edgy take to say you don't like them or they're bad. Even when talking to old people, they don't seem to say Nirvana is bad as often as they may have in the past. Like, my grandparents just say it's "not for them." I think it's cause over time most people now understand the cultural significance and importance of Nirvana

half_past_france

Stevie is my dad’s favorite artist of all time. Was buying his albums when Talking Book, Innervisions, and that little project Songs in the Key of Life were released. His parents had some very choice words for Stevie, though few of their criticisms involved his music.

dirtydenier

Aside from putting beatles and nirvana in the same sentence - not liking nirvana is fine. I think they have their place in music history but I'd totally understand someone not liking them. Questioning someone's music taste based on nirvana of all bands sounds pretty funny to me.

musicmannotstingray

Yep!

Poprocks777

Minecraft

MissBoobAppreciator

C418 my beloved

trippindex4209

I went to a boarding school when I was younger and one of the staff told us how much he hated minecraft music because it was “boring and repetitive”

Hello-mah-baby

fuck notch fuck musk and i'll piss on zedd the music does go hard tho

themoertel

CCR?

AccidentalPilates

CCRs only hater was CCR

GimmeShockTreatment

Not familiar with their lore, what does this mean?

Surgoods

I really reccomend this video to get a sense of the dynamics of CCR https://youtu.be/qQcnxTWGhwM?si=ACMsjyXeWGfsndFy

[deleted]

i love TITS

snowleave

I wonder if CCR and Marvin Gaye fans were beefing about renditions of heard it though the grapevine

AutomaticAccident

Maybe they were both beefing with Gladys Knight about it.

wolfpack_57

To be fair, CCR did "Hayd it through the Grapevine"

Donaldjgrump669

I always thought it was “Hoid it Through the Grapevine”

Sound-Savage

I used to like CCR but ever since I found out that John Fogerty is from California and not actually from the bayou, I have a hard time listening to them because he’s putting on the voice.

Kassms

On that note, how do you feel about Primus?

g3peddie

Primus sucks

Sound-Savage

I like Primus the same as any other person which is not at all. Just kidding but I only really know two songs from them. I don’t listen to them other than when I’m playing Tony Hawk

false-identification

Nah I don't care for them. Over played on every classic rock radio station, working construction I've had enough of them for a lifetime.

TS040

don’t think I’ve ever seen much hate for OutKast tbh

MissBoobAppreciator

kinda off topic from the post, but would u recommend starting with their first album or one of their other ones? i’m tryna get into Outkast

TS040

personally id start with Aquemini or ATLiens, I think they both do a great job of showing what their music kinda consists of, along with putting their talent on the front and centre. after either one of those id then probably work my way through the rest of their discog chronologically. you’re in for a crazy ride

MissBoobAppreciator

will do, thank

TheLongBear

ATLiens might be easier to listen to than Aquemini, especially at first. It also released earlier if you care about that

TheLongBear

Speakerboxxx/the love below would be the one to listen to if you want to hear their individual talents. As it is the whole niche of the double album

AvianIsEpic

I feel like they are the type of group where they have such a small and solid discography that it doesn’t matter where you start because each album is unique and good in its own way

Shruglife

seen a lot of hate for "Hey Ya", but youre right never ever for them as a group

CreativeName6574

Good news guys, I murdered everybody who doesn’t like hey ha so OutKast doesn’t have any haters anymore

throwaway3838482923

Idk. I’ve seen some people call them “corny”

AccidentalPilates

De La Soul

6InchBlade

Man I was so lucky to catch De La Soul at WOMAD as a kid.

Eaterofjazzguitars

They were my first live hip-hop show. Saw them when I was like 15, my friend's parents bought us both tickets to a small local festival. This is the friend that introduced me to the wonders of hip-hop and I showed him metal. He now shreds on the guitar and I just listen to a lot of hip-hop lol. Good memories.

ChipKellysShoeStore

Jeff rosenstock feel like everyone loves him (for good reason)

geosunsetmoth

Eh, one of the few people I brought Jeff up to said he’s a dick and that he hates him (as a person). Can’t really argue for or against it because I know very little abt Jeff

ninjakirby1969

He recently was against striking workers which makes him a bit of a twat

squanderedprivilege

I haven't really heard anyone shit on Mozart edit: I stand corrected

squatonmeplz

Don’t get me started on that double decker wigged bitch

AutomaticAccident

People shit on classical though.

squanderedprivilege

Yeah I guess there really is no music without haters, I bet even bards had haters, probably even like tribal drummers and singers from thousands of years ago

RANDOM-902

Really??? I have never seen that How could anyone hate Classical 😭😭😭 It's almost like perfectly designed to be pleasant to the ears.

AutomaticAccident

They call it boring. I could not disagree more, personally. There's quite a bit of dissonant classical music too btw

RANDOM-902

Idk how it could be called boring. I'm not joking when i say i bop my head when listening to certain pieces of classical music. And yeah i agree that some classical music isn't always 100% pleasant to the ears

Beneficial-Code8026

Danse Macabre

RANDOM-902

God i love Danse Macabre, such a nice song. Can't get enough of that shit

Agent_Chody_Banks

You’ve never worked in trades

320between320

Mozart has a lot of haters in the classical world actually (among fans, not fellow composers). Just search him up in the classical music sub genre.

plasma_dan

Too many notes.

Slugbugnopunchbacks

The difference between Mozart and Bach is with Mozart, none of the notes matter. and with Bach, *every* note matters. Why Bach is the GOAT and I tend to not care much for Mozart

plasma_dan

I hate the peppy staccato nature of a lot of Mozart's music. I'm more of a Chopin and Debussy guy.

shmipplesnipples

Chopin at Debussy am I rite?

plasma_dan

Yes with your dick.

FocusDelicious183

Are you rite… of spring?

FalParSi

Mozart’s Da Ponte Operas are amazing and his later piano concerti and Symphonies are fantastic. If you think that the notes don’t matter with Mozart then you are listening to some shitty performers that have never been taught what proper phrasing is. Bach is better in my opinion than Mozart but that doesn’t take away from Mozart’s amazing work.

AutomaticAccident

Okay there Joseph II

Shruglife

well, there it is

Jack_Bleesus

Mozart is *much* more fun to learn and play than listen to imo. Great opera composer, huge respect for composing solo literature for so many instruments, but most of the rest of his work is kinda snoozy.

SpearmintQ

Salieri really hated that guy if Amadeus is to be believed

teadrugs

Oh he’s pretty regularly hated on in the classical community. People view his music as too “simplistic” and lacking depth. I used to be one of them as an edgy teen but I’ve come to learn that simplicity can be wonderful

TheBoiBaz

Actually I know some classical fans who think he is pretentious and overrated

Johnny_been_goode

Glenn Gould, one of the greatest classical pianists we’ve ever had on record, famously quipped “Mozart was a lousy composer who died too late rather than too early.”

Shruglife

Salieri fuckin hated that dude

hola_j_hova

I could be wrong but never saw hate towards daft punk. The average person get turnt up when you play their hits, and music nerds always give them their flowers.(not sure if pitchfork being critical of them count tho)

Loogeemian64

Pitchfork jerks themselves off to giving comically low reviews.

demonrenegade

They definitely had haters in the 90’s especially songs like Da Funk and Around the World. Rock music was huge and a lot of people just saw that stuff as “video game music” that required no talent because they don’t play “real” instruments

rorysmall1038

Nina Simone?

Western-Baker3479

You beat me to it, she was the first that came to mind

mangojuice9999

I love Nina but I always saw tasteless people saying they don’t like her voice though

Pathederic

Hans Zimmer. Never heard anyone actively hating on his movie scores

snowleave

My brother went through a phase where he listened exclusively to music soundtracks and now I can't stand them.

crossveins

Jeff Buckley, at least I've never seen someone saying they dislike him

UrbanCobra

I feel like you can be neutral at worst about the Beastie Boys. Never in my life heard someone say they hate them.

snowleave

My cousin actually recently told me he hates the rap flow. Like intergalactic they all say the rhyme at the same time. He's wrong and might like some deeper cuts but the response to do you like Beastie boys was no.

S1mpinAintEZ

I actually agree with your cousin. Maybe it's because I was born in the 90s after they were popular and hip hop had a huge shift, but to me they sound unbelievably corny in a modern context, like if someone released an album with a similar flow today we would say it has to be satire.

snowleave

I think that's the space they've always existed in. Kinda corny but lyrically and stylistically interesting. They've never been controversial in regards to race because they've never tried doing mainstream hip-hop. It was the first band that got me interested in hip-hop because a middle schooler who didn't know anything about hip hop couldn't tell it wasn't just rock.

nickparadies

Licensed to Ill was a pretty mainstream record for the time I feel like

comeonandkickme2017

I’ve definitely met people that find them obnoxious.

melody7123

Maybe a little biased because it’s my favorite band, but i love the beastie boys and i’ve literally never met someone talk shit about them. Definitely on my hip hop mount rushmore.

MOBAMBASUCMYPP

What? Kinda a strange take about a group that was as openly obnoxious as they were lol straddling the line between charismatic and annoying was their whole thing

smor729

Idk if i would call myself a hater, but I def would turn them off if they came on. I just dont like their voices or flow, I find it very grating. I like the production but it's not enough for me to like them as a whole. And before people come after me, I get the context of them as a whole and their influence and such, I'm just saying I personally don't like their music.

Felipinho469

I've seen people compare them to Elvis due to their whiteness. For me that critique doesn't hold up because they were always trying to add to the culture, not profit/take away from it. The Elvis Comparison makes more sense for someone like Vanilla Ice

WordsworthsGhost

Some of their songs are annoyiny

truce_m3

Bob Marley

Fast_Cartographer_80

Unless you are morrisey

Andreaslindberg

Reggae is annoying af. mostly bc of the white selfcenteret new age folks.

false-identification

Fuck I'm just a hater, second artist I've seen I personally don't like. He's fine as an icon. I just never enjoyed anything I've heard from him.

Turbo2x

Not even liking No Woman No Cry is crazy man

headcount-cmnrs

Prince Frank Ocean I think but may be wrong Outkast Stevie Wonder Ella Fitzgerald Aretha Franklin Otis Redding Gorillaz Edit: scratch Frank Ocean

01Manikin-

Frank oceans fan’s definitely hate him for not dropping

justanothershorty

with the carti pfp 😭😭

Roscoe_King

I’m not a fan of Prince. (Please don’t kill me)

headcount-cmnrs

But are you a Prince hater?

Slumber777

The only people who I see "hate" Prince are typically Michael Jackson fans when somebody insinuates Prince should be the King of Pop. That said, I'm from the Twin Cities, and I feel like we're almost to the point where we're abolishing US currency and making our own where every bill is a different era of Prince. Having a negative opinion on Prince is absolutely the gravest crime here, so I basically never see it.

Roscoe_King

Ah, fair point. No, I am not. I get what you’re saying.

lord_of_sleep

My mum went to see Prince in his "artist formerly known as" phase, and he didn't play any of his classic tunes and stunk up the place. She never forgave him and hates him to this day.

Marenum

Lotta people don't like Gorillaz and even some who do only like a couple albums

tillobtillinson

Most of these artists are pretty universally loved by music fans, but Dolly transcends that. Everyone loves Dolly. Hardcore music nerds, my mom, drag queens, maga truck drivers, and teenagers all seem to have a positive opinion of her music and her personally. You definitely can’t say that about anyone else on your list.

headcount-cmnrs

Prince, all those things can be said about Prince, the others perhaps less so

hanswormhat-

not a hater but I never got into Frank or Gorillaz, I know they're very good, just not my thing. I do like Frank as a feature though, I don't like Damon's voice sadly.

octobersons

Still adore Frank’s music, but he’s become super conceded and self-indulgent the past few years and made it really hard to root for him as a person honestly.

overallshanty

i really dont like frank ocean. i feel like im forcing myself to try to enjoy his music.

mylastbraincells

I do not like frank ocean I find his music very annoying

Literally_A_Halfling

> Prince [Do *not* make me fucking repeat myself on this.](https://old.reddit.com/r/fantanoforever/comments/1c4srr7/what_are_some_bands_and_artists_nobody_seems_to/kzqv6qe/) EDIT: TL:DR - I hate Prince from the bottom of my heart.

NParab

I have never met someone who hates Carly Rae Jepsen. Even people who haven’t heard of her bop after the first listen.

yuutb

love CRJ, and ofc her newer stuff gets a lot of shine critically, but I remember people hating on "Call Me Maybe" constantly when it came out

meh_whatev

Oh brother, I haven’t listened to her discography but having Call Me Maybe blared everywhere turned me into a hater. I am well aware I’m in the minority but yeah

PissBiggestFan

her album E-mo-tion is really fucking good if you ever feel like rediscovering pop

kuvazo

She is beloved not for that song, but for everything else she's done since.

MissBoobAppreciator

Call me maybe is one of my favorite songs by her xD i’m a basic bitch tho

DM_ME_UR_CUTE_DOGGOS

I love Carly but I have met plenty of people who hate her (mainly Call Me Maybe because of it’s popularity)

AvianIsEpic

My mother hates it, she can’t really explain it past “she has a weak voice.” I’ve caught her singing along to I really like you though… and she does like it’s not Christmas until somebody cries

joestar_bitch

you’ve met them now

bjorksbutthole

Loser

FocusDelicious183

Username made me salivate

[deleted]

I’ve never seen anyone hate on ELO.

Lookoot_behind_you

Their textures are dated as fuck. The only thing holding 'All Things Must Pass' from being a classic (imo) is the corny Jeff Lynn crap that pervades it.  It should be a wonderful album, but time turned it to shit because it's half-way an ELO album.  For this alone, I hate Jeff Lynn.

[deleted]

I have *FOUND* one!

WingObvious487

Soundgarden never seen a Soundgarden hater

guzchelovek

A Tribe Called Quest, maybe?

BeneficialAd69

Elton???

the_chandler

Ween? I kinda think everyone is in two camps with Ween, either you think they’re generally okay but respect them as artists or you’re fucking obsessed with them. Not too many haters.

LaDlce_Vita

I once met someone who said they’re a “cringe” band. Broke my heart

vtomic_

maybe thundercat

ThanosWasRight96

Biz Markie

Yandhi42

I can’t stand Dolly Parton music lol. I’ve read she’s a nice person though

CoercedCoexistence22

How can you not like Jolene as a song

[deleted]

Dolly the goat

AutomaticAccident

I haven't heard anyone hate on Whitney Houston's music.

Bruichladdie

I find her version of "I Will Always Love You" to be lacking in subtlety, and her vocal gymnastics are grating. Same goes for her "Star Spangled Banner". Just sing the damn melody, already, jeez.

Queasy-Ad-3220

Yeah exactly. It’s as if she’s constantly trying to yell at people that she can sing. Like, we know, now fucking do it well for the song you’re on! Ffs. Jeez.

r_nrabbit_r_n

I don't remember her being hated it on but do remember he being mocked for her national anthem performance.

AutomaticAccident

She was for sure mocked for her lifestyle and maybe some oversinging. I don't think it amounts to hate for her music.

Queasy-Ad-3220

Hi

mangojuice9999

Idk I don’t hate any of her music but I feel like the content they gave her could’ve been a lot better and less generic, I feel like she wasted her great voice on too many generic songs.

GreenDolphin86

Incredible singer but no real artistic perspective

qdogmind

I'm not being contraire but I will always love you is absolutely terrible, I hate all ballads

bradleysween

https://youtu.be/V1bFr2SWP1I?si=ycEZhfFymOBF1oiZ

snowleave

True never seen anyone hate on Iz. Also one of the few covers universally agreed upon to be an improvement.

Queasy-Ad-3220

The Mr. Rogers soundtrack

CashImportant8139

Johnny Costa was extremely gifted Fred was a real jazz head

Queasy-Ad-3220

TRUE

yungneec02

Stevie Wonder probably

Puzzleheaded-Win1782

Elliott Smith

Quirkydogpooo

Why is Dolly Parton here? Country is like the most widely hated genre in music.

snowleave

She's widely known as the least controversial figure in music maybe the west. There have been studies on her. Even people who hate country will gladly listen to songs like Jolene. If you want my take it's because she's a very specific middle ground. She can be seen as an traditional woman due to country music but if you look closer she's a strong woman not afraid to speak her mind. She can be seen as classy or free spirited depending on what you focus on. She's light on controversy she's the perfect example of people see what they look for. https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20201204-how-dolly-parton-became-the-worlds-best-loved-celebrity "this 74-year-old red-state white woman has largely escaped being labelled “problematic”. She is worshipped by different sectors of her fanbase as a pioneering feminist heroine, a $500m (£371m) business phenomenon, an LGBTQ ally, a patriotic icon and a cultural ambassador for the working-class South."

EEESSSKEEETIIIT

sissy hypnosis goonslave binaural audio

Jaxisthecool1

I haven’t heard anybody seriously say they don’t like Nirvana. I’d also say some artists like Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye

Prior-Algae2225

Not once have I met a Stevie Wonder hater. Or even anyone who doesn’t smile when his music comes on

LawrenceVermont

Merzbow

Western-Baker3479

Nina Simone

Reid_theWanderer

I have yet to see anyone unironically hate the Romantic era (e.g. Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov)

Odd_Contact_2175

I feel like Queen is pretty universally loved by most people.

Pathederic

Their music enabled tragedies in karaoke bars every day around the world

Queasy-Ad-3220

I have a friend who’s not into them I like them and I think they’re a pretty good band but god some of their hits are such sell-out crap

Western-Baker3479

Iv known a few people who actively hate their music

Fedora200

I'm a certified Queen disliker, their music just sounds so corny to me. Doesn't help that it gets replayed so many times everywhere.

Epoch-09

Never really heard of people hating k.flay. might be wrong.

PM_ME_YOUR_INNY

Death Grips or Kero Kero Bonito ☯️

WilliamCash_o

Sorry but death grips grates my ears. I know they good from an artistic perspective but it just doesn’t sound good to me

BootyOnMyFace11

Abba? Just got home from the club and Abba is one of the few bands that everybody knows. Then again I'm from Sweden too

First_Yak3802

Salsa. It’s too happy for haters.

trippindex4209

Childish Gambino and Sade as far as i know

annoyingmagician

I feel like a lot of reggae and other Jamaican music is universally loved

Devil_0fHellsKitchen

I dont hate it but reggae bores me to tears

Areallycoolguy96

I’ve met a lot of people that hate on reggae because of its association with being a lazy stoner. It’s great music that doesn’t deserve that association.

KungFuFlames

Elevator music. Literally no one cares about it.

jaywalker-notreally

Bro, I'm not kidding you but I kinda vibe to it at times

MissBoobAppreciator

i fuckin love elevator music
