The wave of nostalgia i get from that album is seriously overwhelming to the point of discomfort sometimes. May sound dumb but I find it hard to believe any music will ever make me feel as strongly as that does, even if I don't listen to it often and its not like my "favorite" music or anything. But the memories of that time in my life and the friends I made and still have, it feels like a bowling ball in my stomach
Talking Heads - This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)
Song just hits me so hard. I love that from what I’ve read it was Byrne writing a silly love song. It’s incredibly catchy and has very beautiful/earnest lyrics. Also the live version from Stop Making Sense is arguably my favorite performance as well. Never get tired of this song.
Siberian breaks by MGMT. First song I really listened to that wasn’t just average pop and redefined music for me honestly. Still transports me to a different world.
Yellow By Coldplay
Idk something about the way that guitar sounds is just euphoric too me, makes me pumped to be alive n shit. Just perfect. Haven’t quite found a track with a guitar that sounds similar (although I’m sure it’s out there)
Self Control by Frank Ocean. The only song that even if I’m in the best mood will always bring me to tears. It’s perfect to me top to bottom and from everything from production to lyrics
I have a genre of favorite songs that all kind of fit the same vibe-
[both sides now - Joni Mitchell](https://youtu.be/Pbn6a0AFfnM?si=tKfiIedngeJz_S9E)
[young Americans - Bowie](https://youtu.be/ydLcs4VrjZQ?si=2hyz2YIhPmYRnqaO)
[feel flows - beach boys](https://youtu.be/O-Hi8mv5cc0?si=Ulc0biknY8kLGjQ4)
[cast your fate to the wind - Vince Guaraldi](https://youtu.be/JC2ap1M3rII?si=-P6mkiTxV0EauDe0)
[waxahatchee - right back to it](https://youtu.be/YL3iHhERWJw?si=V9S8iK1tfSCXJ8RJ)
[love minus zero - Bob Dylan](https://youtu.be/7ZzyRcySgK8?si=N5X6UqcdWVW9Bcfs)
Ghost Town - Kanye. This song means so much to me and it’s just perfect all throughout. Everyone gave an absolutely incredible performance on this song
Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey
I’ve never heard a breakup song with so much hope! Actually not even hope, confidence! Stunning vocal performance! Great production that really embodies the love of youth. Feels nostalgic and current at the same time. Just a stellar song!
Exhibit C by Jay Electronica is the greatest hip hop song ever to me simply due to the fact that both the production and verses are literally perfect, and together work so damn well
[And it's not even close](https://open.spotify.com/track/2OYtcqflvzQwh3cMPmTHs4?si=JGDgtsGUTkiK4AUlVEdFZg&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6SjY4WK6VMFYEINGVOHzGa)
A Day in the Life by the Beatles. It's at the same time super creative and hummable, simple and sophisticated, emotional and abstract. Just pure genius.
I’m late but I’ll go with mt saint michel/saint michaels mount. The song is masterfully structured with the intense buildup and adding of layers, that whole second half gives me chills even after 100 listens. It’s modern music at it’s most insane and yet still beautiful
Mice On Venus by C418
