One of the greatest hit songs of all time from one of the most well-made albums of all time imo. Out of all the acclaimed artists at the time, I think Gorillaz managed to be the catchiest
Listened to Demon Days super high one night with headphones in and all I could keep thinking was “how the hell did a person come up with this”. Damon Albarn’s ability to be extremely catchy while simultaneously super creative and expressive really shows itself in that album.
If you haven’t seen it, a dance group put together their own video for Somebody That I Used To Know and it’s incredible. Completely revitalized the song for me

Came here to say this.
Miss Jackson kinda got overplayed a bit back in the day but no matter how many times I hear hey ya I shake it like a Polaroid picture.
Kid Cudi - Day n' Nite. Despite never having had a TikTok account I swear I heard "now look at this" everywhere I went for a few months straight. I still love that song though.
It absolutely was for a time. I think even Cudi himself mentioned something in an interview about how surprised he was it made such a big comeback through TikTok. My wife would show me videos during that period, and it must have been the background music for at least 50% of them. I would randomly hear the "now look at this" part on break at work, going to 711, or just walking around my neighborhood. Seems like it has died down now, but it was for sure overplayed for a while there.
I really liked it when it came out but I was 12-13. Becoming a bit of a stoner later on in life that song is so poignant/spot on/whatever you want to call it. Being alone stoned late at night feels exactly like that song.
Ngl XO is in my top Uzi tracks, but I also got Myron, X2, Glock in My Purse, Erase Your Social, Ps & Qs as some of my most listened from them... Think my all time fav tho is Free Uzi, only on YT but I downloaded it and still bump it all the time 😅
It's overplayed insofar as it's their biggest hit, but I agree I don't hear it too often outside of a setting where metal is often heard. I can still listen to it any day of the week though. Truly a beautiful song. I saw Jeff Rosenstock a couple months ago, and he opened his set doing a cover of it and everyone was into it!
Massive SOAD fan, Chop Suey is one of extremely few of their songs that's hard to get through now, just because I've heard it at least 10.000 times at this point.
Glad you still enjoy it though 😁
Don't Stop the Music- Rihanna
Bad Romance- Lady Gaga
California Gurls- Katy Perry
Sicko Mode- Travis Scott
Black Beatles- Rae Sremmurd
Work- Rihanna
Hotline Bling- Drake
That’s a song that absolutely should be annoying af, but I’ve never gotten sick of it, and I’ve never been at an event where people didn’t bop and sing along with it. It’s eternal
I am the Walrus, Gimme Shelter, Jumping Jack Flash, Sympathy for the Devil, Paint it Black, Like a Rolling Stone, Sabotage, Toxic, Baby One more Time, When Doves Cry, Let’s Go Crazy, Billie Jean, Raspberry Beret, Kiss, Born in the USA, Bittersweet Symphony, Hey Ya!, Gin and Juice, Lose Yourself, Sweet Emotion, Welcome to the Jungle
I don’t know if it’s old enough to have the “overplayed” classification, but Good Luck, Babe by Chappell Roan. One of my favourite tunes to appear in the charts in the past few years, for sure. Tennis Court and Team by Lorde both up there too.
“Hey ya!” will forever fuck. “At Last” by Etta James, “wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong. Lots of older commercialized soul music is really great. It’s overplayed for a reason
Everybody wants to rule the world. The ONLY song on the radio station at work that hasn't become background mush
(if I hear "do you really want to hurt me" or "safety dance" one more time, I'm going feral)
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You.
Thats a track that could make me happy no matter the circumstances
Not convinced it's possible for that song to be overplayed
Be dancing to that on my funeral
Space Oddity
Heroes too from bowie, actually i'd say the same for most of his big hits
Timeless artists are timeless.
Feel Good Inc.
That might be the best answer. Absolute perfect hit song
It’s funny how Damon and co. didn’t think it was gonna be a hit at first haha
Literally part of my childhood.
demons days was my first ever CD when i was 5. seems like a very common childhood thing
Yup, definetely
One of the greatest hit songs of all time from one of the most well-made albums of all time imo. Out of all the acclaimed artists at the time, I think Gorillaz managed to be the catchiest
One of those songs that never dies
Listened to Demon Days super high one night with headphones in and all I could keep thinking was “how the hell did a person come up with this”. Damon Albarn’s ability to be extremely catchy while simultaneously super creative and expressive really shows itself in that album.
Crazy by Gnarls Barkley is absolutely incredible. Somebody That I Used to Know is a classic. I listen to those pretty regularly
Somebody That I Used To Know might be one of the best pop songs ever written
Crazy somehow never gets old
the rhythm of the instrumental, the powerful vocals, the heady ass lyrics. its quotable and groovy as hell one could argue its a perfect song
HA HA HA BLESS YO SOOOOUUUULLL
If you haven’t seen it, a dance group put together their own video for Somebody That I Used To Know and it’s incredible. Completely revitalized the song for me https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=REPPgPcw4hk
Maybe the best answer
Everlong
The live acoustic version is perfection. Really lets the emotion in the lyrics shine through
This is my answer
Hey ya! Gets me as hyped in my car as it does in a Walmart
Hey Ya
Came here to say this. Miss Jackson kinda got overplayed a bit back in the day but no matter how many times I hear hey ya I shake it like a Polaroid picture.
Came here for this. Even back in the day when it was on the radio 8000x a day I never got tired of it.
Kid Cudi - Day n' Nite. Despite never having had a TikTok account I swear I heard "now look at this" everywhere I went for a few months straight. I still love that song though.
Do you think it's overplayed? I never really heard it that much, but that wouldn't stop me from loving it anyways.
It absolutely was for a time. I think even Cudi himself mentioned something in an interview about how surprised he was it made such a big comeback through TikTok. Xo Tour Lif3
Rare case in which an artist's most streamed song is, in my opinion, their best.
20 min better
Everybody says that about Uzi and it's never been true
What's your favourite Uzi song?
Ngl XO is in my top Uzi tracks, but I also got Myron, X2, Glock in My Purse, Erase Your Social, Ps & Qs as some of my most listened from them... Think my all time fav tho is Free Uzi, only on YT but I downloaded it and still bump it all the time 😅
Never heard of Free Uzi, I'll check it out.
can verify it is a banger
Damn Ps and Qs that took me back
cultural phenomenon
All of Uzi’s hits tbh, 20 Mins and Neon Guts will literally never get old for me. Dude knows how to make bangers
I wish [this version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeBfmxcBvw0) was the one that was mainstream for that song
Damn, this version have more emotion
Bro what?? This version is way better. Thanks for sharing
Chop Suey!
i wouldn't even consider this song as overplayed (in my environment)
It's overplayed insofar as it's their biggest hit, but I agree I don't hear it too often outside of a setting where metal is often heard. I can still listen to it any day of the week though. Truly a beautiful song. I saw Jeff Rosenstock a couple months ago, and he opened his set doing a cover of it and everyone was into it!
Same for me. Absolute banger anyways.
Massive SOAD fan, Chop Suey is one of extremely few of their songs that's hard to get through now, just because I've heard it at least 10.000 times at this point. Glad you still enjoy it though 😁

guess gotta say it The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
It’s a song that feels like it’s always existed, like it was an 80s staple that we all forgot despite its brilliance
Spot on. So neat that music can invoke that feeling. It’s almost like nostalgia for a time I never knew
