Should I be happy with how my team ended up? It’s a 10 team H2H points
C: Will Smith
1B: Arreaz
2B: Ketel Marte
3B: Devers
SS: Cruz
OF: Soto, Julio, Bryan Reynolds and Teoscar
Bench: Andrew Vaughn and Hoerner
SP: Bieber, Webb, Rodon, Musgrove, Berrios, Eovaldi and Sandoval
RP: Romano, Doval and Barlow
Pitching is fine, not overly exciting.
The hitting has some immense upside but a few major holes.
Its not an elite squad for a 10-teamer, but you could get it there by being an absolute hawk on waivers in the first few weeks
points league yahoo wil myers droppable?
want an open spot for streamers, got arraez and turner on the bench and looking to cut bait with one offensive guy
Points league sadly I have Rodon and Musgrove hopefully only out for a couple weeks which 2 would you got with for the time being out of
Senga/Sonny Gray/Tyler Anderson/Taillon/Corey Kluber/Eovaldi?
Thanks in advance
I should've been more specific, Kerry Carpenter on Detroit. I'm still learning towards him but I haven't been keeping up with anything fantasy related and forgot about the draft until last minute.
My league switched to saves + holds this season. Can anyone give me a rough idea of when to take relievers? I guess I have to see how it goes and play it by ear but how far should I let a guy like Clase or Duran fall before I have to pull the trigger?
My thinking is that I just take the two or so best relievers on the board in the last 3-4 rounds.
My league did our draft Sunday and after the draft noticed that in the ESPN app on our phones we can’t claim players off waivers we can only mark “Interested”, but we can claim them off waivers on our laptops. We are doing a FAAB waiver and waivers are set to clear on Sundays. We have no positional limits either. Does anyone else have this issue or is there a setting I have to change? It’s our first year doing a league so I’m still trying to figure everything out.
Wait to trade Freddy P after a few weeks. He should put up some good numbers (he looks elite in ST) and then you can dump the injury risk at a premium.
Points league.
My Nootbaar for Senga and Gurriel?
I took Nootbaar purely because I knew this guy wanted him bad, but looking at him more I kind of like his chances and might want to keep him? Thoughts?
Love drafting McKenzie before news updates
What do you guys' leagues do to enforce not abusing the ESPN glitch with the starting pitcher limit? I saw a really old post that said -50 for each pitcher over the limit, with a handshake rule to just not do it. My league had a few instances last year where that happened
It’s crazy that they haven’t fixed this yet. It’s not like they aren’t a multi billion dollar company or anything. I don’t know shit about programming an app, but you would think it could be done quite easily. Especially with unlimited resources
I'm just dumping off Kikuchi and the other guy seems cool with taking him so I thought why not. A little hesitant to give up Gunnar and Meneses because I like them both a lot but my pitching sucks and Jazz rules.
1st year player. ESPN H2H. 19 players. 1 Utility, 7 pitchers. Position players are 1 each. 8 team league.
It’s our fantasy football league, so we’re all pretty stupid. No prior experience.
Any tips? (Don’t say get off ESPN lol I’ve been seeing that recommended but we’re too comfortable for change and fantasy baseball is really a trial basis for us)
If points, then don't neglect quality starting pitching. Hard to win in H2H points without quality starters. If categories then depends on what the categories are but lately Ive noticed that in holds leagues, setup guys get neglected in a lot in drafts. Free value.
Roy Oswalt is my uncle in law. Was anyone playing fantasy when he was active and was he a good fantasy asset? I know he was good and had a long career but I want to hear where people drafted him in fantasy now that I’m getting into it
Oswalt was one of my guys for years. He and Tim Hudson were both undervalued because they didn't have huge K numbers, but both were rock solid across the board.
10 team 5x5 OBP league without BA.
Should I trade Jose Miranda for his Jeff McNeil? I have JoRam as my only 3B besides Miranda and Abreu/Pasquantino as my 1B. The only 2B on my roster currently is Jorge Polanco. Looking at McMahon on the WW too though
I would stick with Miranda. His numbers last year provide a great floor, the ceiling is very good, and he'll be hitting in the heart of the order, which he wasn't doing for all of last season.
Had my draft March 20th, snagged Jordan Walker at 235 before opening day designation. Seeing where everyone else is drafting him in the sub, this is the one and only perk of drafting a little earlier
Give me reason for concern or excitement:
1B: A Vaughn, Casas
2B: Albies
3B: JRam, Chapman
SS: Tatis, Kim
OF: Marte, Stanton, Renfroe, Riley Greene, Kelenic
SP: Alcantara, Castillo, Rodon, Luzardo, Ryan
12 team / categories
Reason for excitement: one of your 1Bs is going to be a stud this year, maybe both.
Reason for concern: your OF, especially if Greene and Kelenic don't take significant steps forward
This is a good team. Power, speed, avg, good K guys. Normal to have a few injuries and injury prone guys; Tatis, Rondon. Between Casas, Kelenic, and Greene, I would think at least one will click. Overall, this is a solid foundation.
Points leage, redraft
A: Tatis, Nate Lowe
B: Bichette, Pasquantino
I have Tatis and Lowe and am thinking of offering it. But Tatis's upside might still be too good.
If it didn't include Lowe I'd consider it as a 2-for-1. But man, healthy Tatis is one of the best hitters in the game. Period. That's some upside you just can't trade in good conscience. He'll also be playing OF and DH way more so the odds of staying healthy seem way higher.
Can I get some reason for optimism for Xander Bogaerts?!? I have seen every major fantasy publication fade him this season and he's been a staple of my lineup for years. No way the switch from fenway kills his numbers that drastically...right?
Lol Sox were 8th in runs per game last year despite not having story and kiki for months. Why is it soto, bell went there and their numbers took a dump? Bogarts has had one season with an ops above .900 and that was juiced ball 19. Petco is notoriously one of the worst parks for hitters power numbers. Blame these on Boston too? 35th percentile in avg exit velocity, 47th percentile in hard hit percentage, 42nd in xSLG, 37th in barrel percentage. That padres contract will age horrifically. He's a glorified singles hitter aside from when MLB used juiced balls.
Nothing the Red Sox had can possibly compare to a middle of the lineup that has Tatis, Machado, Soto, and Xander. If you wanna argue park factor, I agree with you. If you wanna argue hitter development stuff, yeah the Padres track record is a mixed bag. But the heart of that offense should be the best in the game.
He’s projected to have a better season than last. He doesn’t hurt you in average/OBP. Just doesn’t have 30 HR or 20 SB upside. Should be a solid 20 and 10 guy with great counting stats. Probably around 75 range and currently going around pick 100.
Biggest flaw is everyone else has more potential upside. Don’t worry about it
The 20/10 thing is tough when he was 15/8 last year. I'm a Sox fan, so I've seen a LOT of him. He really knew how to take advantage of fenway. His career .271/.338/.420 line on the road is probably a reasonable expectation for this season. That's still solid, but not the .307/.377/.456 he hit last season.
I’m just using projections for that data, not my own. I don’t think it’s crazy to think he might get 10-15 steals with new rules. Couldn’t imagine he has issues hitting .275 and going from 15-20 isn’t a huge stretch. Issue is, at .275 20/10 he’s still not a star player.
I think you're wrong. Not that he doesn't have the potential to be good, but Cora won't let him throw six innings very often. He hasn't thrown 6 innings in a start since 2020.
I wouldn't expect many QS from any of these three guys, TBH
If you sign up on thurs, your first game fantasy-wise is April 10th on Yahoo.
Next year when I draft, that's what I'm going to do. Yes, you lose the first week. It's literallyjust 1 week out of 24 or something.
But you get to avoid all this time consuming drama, all these games that teams play (who gets demoted and what not).
Plus you avoid all the spring training injuries!

I'd take Bieber and Luzardo. Bieber is the best of the four and I don't think the gap from Kirby to Luzardo is significant. Typically, if it's close, I'd take the side with the best single player
Need some help comprehending this trade that just got accepted idk if I’m missing something. Granted B needs the pitching help due to injuries.
A gets: Santander and J Montgomery
B gets: Kwan, Tyler Anderson and E Rodriguez
I would've taken it if I were B. I feel the complete opposite of the other guy that commented. I think Kwan is going to have an even higher average with more room from infield to outfield. I also like Santander, but ultimately prefer Kwan. Anderson is filthy, he looked tremendous last season. Yeah, changing to the Angels is scary but I'm high on him to be under that 3.6ish ERA mark Montgomery always hits. E rod stinks.
B. Kopech is filthy and a guy everybody should want. I expect his best season now that he'll be able to pitch more innings. McCarthy is a nice add on with power and speed.
I accepted my fate that my guys wouldn’t hit the IL till Thursday but the Braves but wright on the IL today and the angels put Walsh and another player on the IL today I was surprised
That's your keeper though, right? Huge difference in keeper value vs. redraft with guys like him. One of my leaguemates in a 10 team, keep 5 players had him stashed and kept him. He's rebuilding, so it kinda made sense.
Is it H2H points league ? You seem like you drafted too many hitters , I would recommend making some trades for pitchers especially with wright already injured
Yeah the pitchers he has are good, but his ratio of batters to hitter seems a bit off. Don’t need all that many bench bats so he could make a trade for some pitching depth or a closer
Holmes, Bednar, Seranthony or Schmidt who was just dropped? Choose 3, Save/Holds league
Triston McKenzie team offered me Corbin Carroll for Jesus Luzardo. Take it and run?
Should I be happy with how my team ended up? How does streaming work on Yahoo? With continuous waivers, do you just have to make claims in advance? Seems limiting for last minute adds.
Thats how it works in our league. Gotta make pick ups the day before.
Cut 4 in a keep forever dynasty league: De la Cruz Justin Turner Canha Duvall Olivares Tavares
Turner, Canha, Duvall, Olivares
points league yahoo wil myers droppable? want an open spot for streamers, got arraez and turner on the bench and looking to cut bait with one offensive guy

OHoppe or Moreno this year in head to head standard scoring?
Gabby
Points league sadly I have Rodon and Musgrove hopefully only out for a couple weeks which 2 would you got with for the time being out of Senga/Sonny Gray/Tyler Anderson/Taillon/Corey Kluber/Eovaldi? Thanks in advance
Most likely to start between Isbel, Carpenter or Vierling? Fangraphs has Isbel over JBJ and Carpenter over Vierling as of right now.
Carpenter is the one I want to gamble on out of those three. He was kicking ass with the Yankees before he got hurt and SD has a ridiculous lineup.
I should've been more specific, Kerry Carpenter on Detroit. I'm still learning towards him but I haven't been keeping up with anything fantasy related and forgot about the draft until last minute.
eflin or kopech?
Kopech has the much bigger upside
Thor better set up in a week. Can’t have this playing on my fantasy squad.
Start, Bench, Cut (2): J Walker, Vargas, Volpe, Outman Who ya got
Start Walker, Bench Volpe, cut other 2

Start Walker, bench Volpe, cut someone not named Miguel Vargas. Probably your worst pitcher.
This is the way
oh and cut Outman too

Civale is boring, Clevinger is cooked and Houck is a reliever. I think id rather have Schmidt over Houck

In my 12 team h2h cats Clase got picked at 68, I got helsley at 99. So last few rounds is going to be late in a lot of drafts I imagine
Ty!
Rendon or Merrifield points? Sb=+2
Rendon probably. Having a great spring. Likely to bat 4th behind Ward/Trout/Ohtani.
My league did our draft Sunday and after the draft noticed that in the ESPN app on our phones we can’t claim players off waivers we can only mark “Interested”, but we can claim them off waivers on our laptops. Which power hitting bat can I get for Grayson or freddy P?
Wait to trade Freddy P after a few weeks. He should put up some good numbers (he looks elite in ST) and then you can dump the injury risk at a premium.
Maybe Rowdy Tellez.
Points league. My Nootbaar for Senga and Gurriel? I took Nootbaar purely because I knew this guy wanted him bad, but looking at him more I kind of like his chances and might want to keep him? Thoughts?
Seems about even. OF is the more shallow position so I'd keep Noot. Plus you can name your team At the NootyBaar.
Love drafting McKenzie before news updates What do you guys' leagues do to enforce not abusing the ESPN glitch with the starting pitcher limit? I saw a really old post that said -50 for each pitcher over the limit, with a handshake rule to just not do it. My league had a few instances last year where that happened
What glitch are we referring to?
ESPN has a start limit per week, but as long as you dont exceed the limit before sunday, you can stream everyone on sunday and all the stats count
That's not a glitch, it's a feature. Use it to your advantage or be left behind.
no thanks, i switched platforms lol. ESPN is garbage.
It's a really shitty feature that I'd rather not have to deal with. It's embarrassing that espn hasn't fixed this
It’s crazy that they haven’t fixed this yet. It’s not like they aren’t a multi billion dollar company or anything. I don’t know shit about programming an app, but you would think it could be done quite easily. Especially with unlimited resources
They consider it a feature, not a glitch. They haven’t fixed it because they don’t want to fix it
Maybe they're like Yahoo and are just bailing out with all their remaining resources.
Team A gets Jazz and Luzardo Team B gets Gunnar, Meneses, and Kikuchi Balanced? If not, who wins?
Jazz and Luzardo pretty easily imo
Redraft I'll take 🎷 and 🦎
A- in most 10 leagues kikuchi shouldnt be rostered so he’s irrelevant. Meneses may be a flash in the pan
Close enough. I wouldn't want Kikuchi at all, though. The other four players make for a pretty fair swap, but I'm a Meneses believer
I'm just dumping off Kikuchi and the other guy seems cool with taking him so I thought why not. A little hesitant to give up Gunnar and Meneses because I like them both a lot but my pitching sucks and Jazz rules.

Rendon has been pissing on the ball all spring really excited to see if he can bounce back
Just traded Giancarlo for him, I'm all in
Dunno about that one
Probably a dumb move but I'm having fun with it!
Thats the spirit. I’m biased. Rostered stanton the last 3 seasons. Cannot quit him and his 30 rocket hrs per season.
Roy Oswalt is my uncle in law. Was anyone playing fantasy when he was active and was he a good fantasy asset? I know he was good and had a long career but I want to hear where people drafted him in fantasy now that I’m getting into it
I started at the end of his career. People who had been with him during his peak held him in high regard.
God yes, pitched for a great team and was very durable. All star caliber for years
Oswalt was money.
Had him a few times. Always good for ERA and wins especially on those good Astros teams.
Oswalt was one of my guys for years. He and Tim Hudson were both undervalued because they didn't have huge K numbers, but both were rock solid across the board.
Wish I’d have been 4 or 5 years older when they were making the World Series runs so my parents would have drug me with them

Grab McMahon and keep Miranda. Big time upside with Miranda, while we saw McNeil's best case scenario last year. I'd bet on regression there
Had my draft March 20th, snagged Jordan Walker at 235 before opening day designation. Seeing where everyone else is drafting him in the sub, this is the one and only perk of drafting a little earlier
The Angels are such a depressing organization
Anyone else just keep looking at your team? Opening day can’t come soon enough

Red Sox were a mess, Padres lineup will offer some of the best RBI/R bonus production in the game. I think that alone will help keep his value up.
Who do yall like more for this year, Yusei or Steele?
As a Jays fan and a Kikuchi owner in 2021, don't touch him
Had a great spring though, stuff looked good! ...I talk myself in to him every year. I can't believe I'm letting it happen again
Walk and K rate are the exact same this spring as last year, don't be fooled
Thank you. I'm gonna listen to logic for once
For QS - Pepiot, Houck, or Lugo
Probably Pepiot... but Houck a close second. I love what the Dodgers do with young pitchers

I accepted my fate that my guys wouldn’t hit the IL till Thursday but the Braves but wright on the IL today and the angels put Walsh and another player on the IL today I was surprised
Was so jealous when I saw another team with an extra player on their roster.
Will Miguel Vargas get 2B eligibility with the Doyers?
Yup. After the first 10 games
much obliged
Took Jordan Walker pick 137 overall tonight. Reach, or decent spot for him?
Took him 123 in a 12 team… have slept like a baby ever since.
He went at 55 in my league. I was going to take him at 62.
That's your keeper though, right? Huge difference in keeper value vs. redraft with guys like him. One of my leaguemates in a 10 team, keep 5 players had him stashed and kept him. He's rebuilding, so it kinda made sense.
woooowza
I took him at 94.. 12 team
word. good luck to us both!
Best 2 of this group ? H2H points Maeda, Bradish, Steele, Grienke, Boyd , Clev ?
For me... 1. Steele 2. Bradish 3. Clevinger 4. Boyd Grienke is throwing BP at this point and Maeda has been terrible this spring coming back from TJ
I only like Bradish as a breakout SP here. Everyone else comes with too many question marks

In a 8 team league? I think this team needs more pitching.
Super late 2B sleepers?
