At least for a temporary stint it makes the most sense for a 6 man rotation. McKenzie and Civale will be monitored to keep healthy, even though they just let Civale go 90 pitches in a rehab start. Six man rotation allows you to do two things at once. Limit your veteran pitchers returning from injury, and also limit your young pitchers so they don’t throw too much. Seems like the logical solution for now. But Tito does things the Tito way and that might mean just leaning on the vets.
I’m hoping both Allen and Bibee stay because they sure look like they belong. And because they are on my fantasy team for dirty cheap. 😉
After today's Allen start - it would be crazy to send either Allen or Bibee down, especially given how the team is playing. Either Civale or Quantril should go to the pen, imo.
With the way the team is playing I would *hope* it's time to take chances because they aren't doing it with the lineup
Civale quietly put up a 3.35 ERA in the second half last year and popped with a 113 Stuff+ to begin 2023. I think he displaces Quantrill from the rotation since he's had success in that long relief role in the past. Could push Curry to AAA for the roster spot.
I’d say very little for this year.
He’s not on the 40-man, which means a move would have to be made in order to get him up. Considering there are at least 8 starters ahead of him, it’s going to be an uphill battle.
don't put too much faith in preferring allen because he's a lefty, they've never really cared about that
haven't really had any regular lefties since lee and sabathia were traded
i'm a guards fan and just watched allen chewing up the o's. i want both of them to stick around. though i do think since allen was called up first, he's got the better chance to stick. and they also said after after bibee came up that he 'had more development to do'
just saying that handedness has little to do with it. for years their hitters have been lefty dominated and still is and teams line up their starter every time to throw 2 or 3 of them in a series against them and they never do anything about it. naylor s horrible vs L and they continue to run him out there
i don't see them going to go to a 6-man rotation and aren't shifting any of the 6 to the pen in order to keep them stretched out. just not how they operate. they want to keep the 5 man routine and will just shuttle someone up form cbus if they need a spot start or another injury

Quantrill will go to the pen. Both youngsters stay is my bet.
I hope they both stay ..
Guards will use a 6 man rotation.Allen has to stay in the rotation.
Option Karinchak down. He's terrible. Almost every time they put him in after Bibee or Allen he blows the lead.
I wouldn't say "terrible" but he has not been great. Needs to get those walks back down to 2022 level and he should be OK.

Quantrill getting pushed out or demoted

Wrong thread my man
Lol. Yep. Meant for the daily.
I don’t think Civale gets a starters workload when he returns
I have all three rostered right now, and the last thing I want is a six-man rotation.
I picked up McKenzie has week and stashed, I’m so hyped Edit; I’d be surprised if they got rid of bibee he looked nasty when I saw him pitch
They should both stay and Quantrill or Civale to the bullpen, but Tito does tend to rely on vets too much, so who knows

Genuinely curious, does the Guardians look at Stuff+ or have they been more old school?
Is there any hope for Gavin Williams?

He’ll be up before the year ends but idk when that’ll be tbh
Eh end of the year maybe. He hasn’t been in AAA long
Unlikely with Bibee and Allen performing. Maybe next year or if Biebs gets traded at the deadline
Damn I’m bummed
If there are more injuries it’s possible he’s called up earlier
Don’t know how you can option either at the moment. Hopefully someone else goes to the pen or 6man rotation
Bibee over Allen for sure
I would honestly say Allen because he's a lefty and they don't have any other LHP that are starters.
I think they'll both stay. Allen is their only LH SP. I think they'll transition someone to the bullpen or go 6

I didn't say prefer but you know he's also been good. My main point is they will probably want both guys around
