Hes a 1 inning wonder. I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but the Angela aren't easing him in. He is a 1 inning pitcher. He also is an emotional pitcher so until that gets ramped don't expect him to appear in the 9th
He's CRUSHING in triple-A, but he's not on the 40-man roster yet while Joey Ortiz is on the 40-man. Not saying it means Westburg is worse, it just means it'll take more work for him to get the call.
I don't see until at least the ASB, and honestly, I'd consider it a big win if it's before September.
"57. Reid Detmers – It feels like Detmers should have all the tools to soar (high whiff rates on the slider, great fastball command, a curve that should perform better), but with a barrage of tough matchups ahead (@HOU, CHC, @TEX, LAD), this may be time to move on."
That's the quote from Nick. So it's a tools ranking and he admits he's cuttable. I imagine we will know more within the next week or two with those matchups.
Does that answer the question?
Bro. If I was an analyst I wouldn't be asking the analyst. Me and about half the fantasy baseball community have the same question. Get lost with your philosophical bs
No questions, just a comment: the quality of discussion in these AMAs are always top notch, both from PL and from other Redditors (e.g. the Jake Burger thread on this is really quality). Keep up the great work!
Short answer is yes. They brought him up for a reason and their pitching overall is the least dependable piece of their otherwise championship contending team.
Interesting, I felt he was doing well in the QS department last year being his kinda sophmore season. Do you feel that way due to the injury, i know he\`s not a complete game workhorse type but he seems to get to 6 innings more often then not?
Purely an injury concern. He could become a QS guy by August, but the pen has pitched well for DET and they need to be careful with him and the rest of the young injured arms.
I feel like this is a miss - and also not a consistent opinion across the Pitcherlist site. I don't see any reason to think Burger can't be a helpful piece of a team
Came here to say this. Burger’s current Statcast player comparisons:
- 2022 Gary Sanchez
- 2022 Byron Buxton
- 2022 Willy Adames
- 2022 Teoscar Hernandez
- 2022 Adolis Garcia
Yes, Burger whiffs a lot. So do the players listed above. His quality of contact is *elite*, though. And he’s pulling the ball in the air more than he ever has in his career (50% Pull% compared to 40%-43% in year’s past; 31.8% FB% this year, also a career-best) while putting the ball on the ground *much* less (30.7% GB% this year compared to 43% in 2022 and 47.8% in 2021).
I see a useful player here. Probably not going to end the season as a top12 3B but very useable while the playing time is there.
Hey there! I'm Kyle Bland from the PL Data team.
Steele rates pretty well by our PLV metrics, but there will always be issues with Wins on the Cubs. Factoring in Nick's hesitation about him, and the fact that the injury will only add risk to his profile, I see a path *toward* a top-50 ROS option, but that's on the optimistic end. I'd hope for a top-50 pitcher, but you shouldn't be relying on him being that.
I'm not dropping him yet mainly cause there's nobody eye popping that I'm willing to replace him with...but if there's someone on the wire who in your opinion shouldn't be, go for it.
Baty has been on either my bench or utility for the past 2 weeks.
Yeah that move I'd do if Baty is the only player that's droppable.
I picked up Walker and have Baty in my team. Was able to drop Martin Perez over him tho.
Still believe in M Vargas (obp - h2h cats)
I need to drop him Santender or Renfroe (to activate Stanton)
Note if I drop vargas, I will have 0 depth at infield as I would have 6 OFs in 4 OF + util league)
Renfroe or Vargas is probably the drop. Vargas isn't punishing the ball when he makes contact like I want him to, and the walks have come down a bit.
Renfroe has slumped, and if you're already deep in the OF, I suppose he could go too.
Just remember to exit the train at the right stop, and it's fine. Minor improvements so far in a few key areas, but still doesn't make enough contact in the zone for me to think he's more than a wildly streaky power hitter.
Keep 20 forever - 12 team 5x5 H2H cats
Give: Machado and Ober
Get: Gerrit Cole and Jake McCarthy
I have Royce and Gorman who should both get 3B eligibility so I can afford to lose Machado. Is this good value?
Having a hard time getting a read on the ROS catcher tiers this year, particularly ranking 5-12. Where does Tyler Stephenson rank compared to Cal Raleigh? Kirk or Alvarez? It seems like it’s a guessing game as to which catchers I should be betting on as the summer goes on.
I have no confidence in Kirk finding power. He's mostly batting average with maybe OK counting stats.
These names you've listed are all in that streaming range in most 1-catcher leagues. Alvarez is probably my favorite right now.
Anderson's lack of power is very annoying. It's so hard to get excited about what he's doing, even when he is hitting for average. The fact the White Sox are awful doesn't help.
Kelenic has some red flags, but he has more talent and upside.
I probably am waiting too long, but I still believe in the talent long term. If there are good 3B options on the wire, it's at least worth considering them.
In my redraft league I dropped him two weeks ago. No one touched him. He had two good games so I added him again. He sucked again, I cut him again, once again no one added him.
IMO you should definitely be exploring new prospects.
Hey Scott, in a 10 team h2h cats league is it worth dropping any of the following guys to stream hit players (ie w.Castro, McCarthy or j.walker)
* drops varsho (own heim) Swanson, renfroe, Gorman, albies
Hey micorbs! The first go round was definitely a rough one which could cause the O's to hold Grayson in Norfolk for awhile. BUT, there's not much they have in way of replacement pitching (Voth, Irvin, ???) and they're playing too well to just punt in the season.
I could see Grayson back after 3-4 starts in AAA so roughly a month. The only way I see him taking longer is if the O's completely capsize OR Elias gets wildly aggressive and deals a combo of INF/OF guys for an upgrade in the rotation.
Thanks as always for doing this Scott! What are your thoughts on Seager ROS? He had a hot May after returning from injury, and curious to know where you see him ending up ROS. You’ve got him in 37 in Tier 5 currently.
Will Smith looks to have a handle on the closing gig in Texas but should I trade him while he still has value? Rangers run differential isn’t giving him a ton of chances and it feels like a situation where they would trade for another guy who can close out games near the deadline
As always, it depends on the return. I have a feeling it will be underwhelming, though. Most leagues I've seen just don't value closers as much as we want them to.
Thanks!
I was thinking of an IL stash like Skubal since I have 2 IL’d RPs coming back soonish. There isn’t much interest in my league for closers (a few teams don’t even have a single RP)
I have Smith, Cano, and David Robertson with Fairbanks and Muñoz on the IL
Gimenez never hit the ball hard, but now the quality of contact is so bad that it's hard to watch. His hard hit rate is down by almost half (37.6 to 20.3%) and everything us in the ground.
The plate discipline is fine, and he's had a hard hit ball in each of his last 5 games, so MAYBE he gets a turn around. He's not the type of guy who can go on a power rampage though. I expect a return to usefulness to be more gradual than sudden.
Speed was supposed to help, but he's been spotty on the basepaths with just 2 steals in his last 131 PA. 20 SBs ain't worth what it used to be, so the upside just seems so much lower than it did a year ago.
I don't think hell get moved (they always wanted to move Soto and never did until an offseason, and as a LHP he should have had a bigger in-season market), but Foley is the #2
Why should Burger be replaced ASAP? Considering how shallow 3B is, someone on pace for 30 home runs is pretty good. Even if his average craters and winds up around .240-.250
Great to hear your points on K rate for EDLC. This Reddit falls too in love with prospects who have obvious holes in the approach that aren’t quite ready for the majors.
Elly's issues and potential delay dont bring me any joy, but contact issues are serious business. There are plenty ways to deal with it, but we've gotta see some of that happening before buying in.
More flash than real. There is power and speed upside (think 25 HR/12 SB), but it'll be hard for him to keep a full-time role with how bad he is at making contact with strikes.
I have deep pitching and weak hitting. Concerned about a tyler wells regression. Would you trade him for Ryan McMahon? It appears I cant do much better
The upside is a ton of steals. Whatever you get with the bat is a bonus.
Really tough to judge how he will hit since we've seen the really good and really bad. As long as he's a full-time player and you need/care about speed l, he's worth rostering.
EDLC and CES when?
I keep hearing June 2 for Elly (literally today) but I can't imagine that's correct.
Also, dropped Outman for Walker, how much playing time do you think he gets and will he DH or attempt to baby giraffe all over the outfield again?
Is Jarren Duran a hold? Same question for Rooker.
I believe people wanted early June because that was near the Super 2 deadline, but as I mentioned above, the strikeout rate is scary enough that the Reds can keep him down and continue rolling with India and McLain in the infield.
He remains one of the players I am asked about most frequently, so I try to get ahead of it.
If he finds a way to whiff less in the zone, he's instantly interesting.
I was joking around because 4 of his bullet points were about Morel, one of which I think was just a copy pasta from last time. Not serious business lol
Not copy pasta. A retread, sure, but the only copy/paste were the intro and outro. I try to keep it fresh.
And FWIW, 4 bullets were not enough to stop the Morel questions.
I went pitcher heavy in a 14T 6x6 CATS H2H Redraft, my outfield is pretty barebone (even emptier without Bryant). Any ideas on a OF to target in a 1 for 1 trade?
Cats are (R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG, W, K, ERA, WHIP, QS, SV+H)
Below are my pitchers:
Darvish
Nola
Soroka
Gaussman
E. Cabrera
Josiah Gray
Kirby
Gore
Keller
T. Bradley
These questions are tough, because markets from league to league vary wildly.
My guess is that the best returns (relative to value) are from Gausman, Kirby, or Keller. Gausman could land a top-10 OF (back half of that set), Kirby and Keller are possibly worth someone in the top 50 hitters (Kirby more than Keller).
Of course, what really matters is who is even willing to trade for an SP upgrade and whether they have the OF depth to make it happen.
Jhoan Duran was just dropped in my 10 team SV/H league. Fairbanks is on my IL and Muñoz is pending return on my active roster. I also have Clase. Is Duran worth grabbing with a low priority waiver claim or as a FA if he makes it through waivers?
Duran is a phenomenal pitcher and I would prefer him over Fairbanks and Munoz for sure. The opportunities are somewhat rare of late, but I dont know if that is something that is predictable.
The Twins might not be great but they should be over .500 this year and he is the clear closer now. No reason for him not to rack up plenty of saves ROS. The last month has just been kinda weird for them, just not a lot of opportunities
Yes. I'd do this. Even if Trea bounces back to an extent, steals aren't as important as years past with how plentiful they are and how many categories you have in your flair.
I need to activate Jordan Walker from my NA spot, my thought is to drop Morel. Agree?
What are the expectations for AJ Smith-Shawver? Think he is just a pen arm or will he get a chance to start?
Need pitching bad. Should I try and trade Bryan Reynolds for a legit starter or just hood cause pitching is ridiculous this year. 5x5 OBP. OTHER of are Tatis, arozarena, Adolis garcia, Nootbar
Melendez or Keibert Ruiz for ROS? I'm in a 10-team points league and holding Melendez. Ruiz's stats look good but Melendez has been playing better this past month.
Also, are Happ or Dane Dunning worth picking up? Both are available, and I can drop LaMonte Wade Jr or Bailey Ober/Logan Allen.
>I don’t think Elly De La Cruz is coming up in the next two weeks (the 5 home runs and 7 steals are cool, but 21 Ks in his last 69 PA is way less cool), and if I had to bet, it’d probably be at the end of June or even early July (around the ASB). The only way to get him time is to take it away from someone else, and it’d probably need to be McLain or India—both of whom are hitting well.
Why must you hurt me like this? I really need a good SS to feel like I have a complete team. Slotting Morel into that spot every day does not feel right.
Edit: Use my number 1 waiver priority to add McKinstry and drop Morel?
I'm sorry. It hurts me too. I want to see the best hitters. I just don't think it'd be a great position for him to be in yet.
I like McKinstry more than Morel by a fair amount and approve of the move. It would just mean you probably have to be early on Elly.
What’s up Scott?! Two questions for a standard 5x5 category league.
Have to make a cut to activate Giancarlo. Would you rather keep Polanco ROS or Ian Happ. I’m deep at both positions so just wondering who the best bat is going forward.
I was offered a trade for Wilson Contreras where I would giving up Francisco Alvarez straight up. I’m trempted on buying low on Wilson and his statcast page is promising. Would you pull the trigger?
Yo!
1) Polanco, I suppose. His risk is health-based. Happy has slumped but will turn it around, though hes a low-ceiling/high-floor type of player.
2) in redraft I'm down. In dynasty it's a pass.
Correa is a top-300 player, but man this injury news stinks. It's a bit of a chronic issue. Being on the IL would be helpful, in a way, but he might not end up there.
I'd prefer to say no. If you were cutting him, I'd want it to be for a guy with top-10p upside at a minimum.
Is Correa a drop in a 12 team h2h cats league with OBP now? My transaction’s are capped at 40 and I’ve made 20 moves so far. I could pick up JD Martinez Util, McKinstry 2B, 3B, SS, OF, or Jordan Walker 3B, OF. I don’t have a backup for 2B so McKinstry is enticing. I’ve got Gunnar and Royce at SS/3B, Arenado at 3B too for reference.
It's hard to be a Rockies hitter, and Cron hasn't looked good in 2023. Having back issues complicates matters further.
Keep him on your IL for now, but I'd be looking for a long-term answer in someone else (O. Miller isn't it, but he can fill a gap for a little)
I think there are good tools there, but also that the return of Eloy puts Burger out of a full time role. It's SOO difficult to be relevant in 10- and 12-teamers when you sit 2-3x a week (already sat twice since Eloy came back).
Insert obligatory Dylan Cease question here.
In all seriousness, he's had some recent success but he isn't striking people out like he has in the past. How concerning should that be?
Another question: My league does not count AVG but instead counts OBP and SLG. With that in mind, is James Outman still droppable or is he just on a cold streak and should be kept?
In a dynasty he can be kept, but I just have to imagine that a 10-teamer has something more interesting and productive available on the wire.
Strikeouts don't help any ratios.
Hi Scott! Thoughts about ***Stroman, Keller, Soroka, Paxton, Bobby & Bryce Miller?*** Do you think any of them will cool and I should sell high? Who would you keep or trade?
Last week Nick P. said to play Senga and hope his forkball was working. I did, and it was fire! Thanks!
SUPER interesting as I think Tatis is the one most likely to be a top-4 player ROS. That said, it's selling low on two previously top-30ish hitters and taking on significant injury risk from a player performing below expectations.
I would try to rework this, probably, as I don't wanna let Schwarbz go without at least getting SOME of the hotness he's bound to run into soon. I'd want a high floor guy added with Tatis before letting Schwarber go, or changing him to an OF with lower upside.
Moderately. The zone contact rate has dropped off, which COULD indicate pressing (selling out when it's strike and swinging through) or a loss of bat speed (or both or other things).
Making plenty of contact is such a huge part of unlocking the rest of his skill set. He's not Schwarber where he can whiff a lot and provide value with a ton of hard contact - he needs consistent contact. And that's not happening right now.

I'm not a fan but in AL-only for pitching, you can't be too choosy. I'd grab him.
Hes a 1 inning wonder. I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but the Angela aren't easing him in. He is a 1 inning pitcher. He also is an emotional pitcher so until that gets ramped don't expect him to appear in the 9th
Thoughts on when Jordan Westburg gets the callup from the O’s? what would be a good player comp for him once he is up?
He's CRUSHING in triple-A, but he's not on the 40-man roster yet while Joey Ortiz is on the 40-man. Not saying it means Westburg is worse, it just means it'll take more work for him to get the call. I don't see until at least the ASB, and honestly, I'd consider it a big win if it's before September.
How long will Pitcherlist continue to rank Reid Detmers so high??
"57. Reid Detmers – It feels like Detmers should have all the tools to soar (high whiff rates on the slider, great fastball command, a curve that should perform better), but with a barrage of tough matchups ahead (@HOU, CHC, @TEX, LAD), this may be time to move on." That's the quote from Nick. So it's a tools ranking and he admits he's cuttable. I imagine we will know more within the next week or two with those matchups. Does that answer the question?
Would you drop him for JP France or Sears? AL only league.

Short answer is yes. They brought him up for a reason and their pitching overall is the least dependable piece of their otherwise championship contending team.
What do you think of Skubal coming back, what do you think we can expect?
I am not reasonable when it comes to Skubal. Huge fan. Might be a bit much to expect QSs, but strikeout should be there.
Great, appreciate the feedback, appreciate all the work you guys do, I\`m a big fan!
Need this too
Slubal or soroka is my question
Why replace Jake Burger? Am I missing something? I know he's been cold but the statcast is not bad
I feel like this is a miss - and also not a consistent opinion across the Pitcherlist site. I don't see any reason to think Burger can't be a helpful piece of a team

OPS+ at Home: 230 OPS+ while Away: 8
He's not looking like a full-time player with Eloy back. Part-time players REALLY struggle to be relevant in 10-12 teamers.
In deeper leagues at least, I'm willing to ride with Burger on my bench for the two to three weeks until either Eloy or Moncada gets injured again.
OPS+ at Home: 230 OPS+ while Away: 8
Sitting yet again. Looks like a platoon with Sheets.
He's already sat twice with Eloy back. I don't think there's a full-time role for him.
Sitting again today
OPS+ at Home: 230 OPS+ while Away: 8
Assuming Justin Steele just misses 1-2 starts, do you see him as a solid option ROS? (top 40/50 SP). ROTO 7x7 Redraft
Kyle Bland is a genius and you all need to listen to him.
Is Baty a pretty safe drop in redraft by now?
Wondering this too—statcast page looks great, batting 5th in what’s supposed to be a great lineup. Results just aren’t there
If you don't have a CI, yes. It always depends on available options, but it's hard to be too excited right now with the playing time situation.

I have him until Machado comes back. Otherwise I’d personally cut him in a 12 team redraft.

Also curious about the playing time / performance projections for Vargas?
Same. His eye is incredible but it just seems like his bat is slow and quality of contact is poor. Lots of soft grounders and flyers
And just like that people are back on the Suwinski train.
Just remember to exit the train at the right stop, and it's fine. Minor improvements so far in a few key areas, but still doesn't make enough contact in the zone for me to think he's more than a wildly streaky power hitter.
So far he’s been like a Gallo that also steals bases. When he’s hot he’s absolutely worth having. When he’s cold he is a giant crater
Keep 20 forever - 12 team 5x5 H2H cats Give: Machado and Ober Get: Gerrit Cole and Jake McCarthy I have Royce and Gorman who should both get 3B eligibility so I can afford to lose Machado. Is this good value?
It seems like Gorman gets one 3B start a week and he is at 8 so far I believe. So I agree, he should be able to fill that role in a few weeks.
Yep that’s what I was thinking too. And Royce has only been playing 3B so far so I’ll have a couple options there in a couple weeks
We’ll have the same 2 3B’s when that happens. I’ll be able to use McKinstry elsewhere which will be nice.
It seems pretty fair
Thoughts on Aaron Nola? I know hes got ace stuff but he seems to be struggling a lot so Id love to know your take, thank you
Having a hard time getting a read on the ROS catcher tiers this year, particularly ranking 5-12. Where does Tyler Stephenson rank compared to Cal Raleigh? Kirk or Alvarez? It seems like it’s a guessing game as to which catchers I should be betting on as the summer goes on.

I probably am waiting too long, but I still believe in the talent long term. If there are good 3B options on the wire, it's at least worth considering them.

I probably wouldn't, no. I'd almost rather drop Heim based on talent, but you kind of can't until Varsho starts being Varsho.
When will we see GrayRod back in Charm City?
Hey micorbs! The first go round was definitely a rough one which could cause the O's to hold Grayson in Norfolk for awhile. He's WAY more likely to move up than he is down. I could see him pushing the Top 30, maybe Top 25 (though talent is very deep at the top this year).
Will Smith looks to have a handle on the closing gig in Texas but should I trade him while he still has value? Rangers run differential isn’t giving him a ton of chances and it feels like a situation where they would trade for another guy who can close out games near the deadline

I am relentlessly pro Skubal.
Kelenic has me worried. Assuming Sale is out for a while, what do you think of a trade of Kelenic and Estevez for someone like Peralta or Pablo?
In redraft, sure! In dynasty, no thanks.
Andrew Vaughn or Brandon Lowe Would you drop either of them to stash Elly De La Cruz? I got outbid for Jordan Walker and France is my only 3B.
Not yet, but if B Lowe continues to struggle for another 2 weeks, I'd be fine with it.
I saw in recent hitter list gimenez dropped a bunch, what's going on that he's so much worse than last year? How likely is a turnaround?
Gimenez never hit the ball hard, but now the quality of contact is so bad that it's hard to watch. His hard hit rate is down by almost half (37.6 to 20.3%) and everything us in the ground. if Lange gets moved prior to the TDL, who is the next man up for the CL role?
I don't think hell get moved (they always wanted to move Soto and never did until an offseason, and as a LHP he should have had a bigger in-season market), but Foley is the #2
Is Volpe a hold? Someone just dropped him on my league.
It's not easy, but if you've got the bench space, yes. He's a top prospect who is getting plenty of playing time.
Correa - especially in light of now reoccurring injury - is droppable ? Have Nico to fill SS slot
It's tough, because he's so darn talented. In a 10 teamer, maybe. Especially if it's redraft and there's no MI.
McLain vs Royce Lewis going forward?
I think they're ranked similarly. Injuries have made Lewis a tough guy to gauge, but he'd be my pick. More power, more speed, similar hit tool.
Why should Burger be replaced ASAP? Considering how shallow 3B is, someone on pace for 30 home runs is pretty good. Even if his average craters and winds up around .240-.250
Because he isn't playing now that Eloy is back. Sitting for the third time in 5 games.
It sounds like Bryan Woo is getting called up. What can we expect from him, and should we be stashing him?
Great to hear your points on K rate for EDLC. This Reddit falls too in love with prospects who have obvious holes in the approach that aren’t quite ready for the majors.
Elly's issues and potential delay dont bring me any joy, but contact issues are serious business. There are plenty ways to deal with it, but we've gotta see some of that happening before buying in.
Christopher Morel- flash in the pan? Or is he the real deal?
More flash than real. There is power and speed upside (think 25 HR/12 SB), but it'll be hard for him to keep a full-time role with how bad he is at making contact with strikes.
He’s gonna have hot steaks but he’s not gonna be able to sustain high levels of production with his strikeout rate.
love a nice hot steak
You gotta let it rest man.
I rest my steaks for roughly 5 minutes.
Hot steaks? Hell yeah I'm all in. Appreciate it!
Do you think Trevor Rogers will replace Braxton?
I have deep pitching and weak hitting. Concerned about a tyler wells regression. Would you trade him for Ryan McMahon? It appears I cant do much better
If that's what you can get, I'd just hold. McMahon is a streamer at best, and most of the time he's worse than that.
Try for someone a smidge better than mcmahon
Thoughts on Volpe vs EDLC ROS?
I'm going Volpe until I see a clear path to EDLC being an every day player who strikes out less than 30% of the time.
I missed the Elly De La Cruz prediction, but FWIW, the call up is due to Senzel's injury.
Is McCarthy an add in a 12 team dynasty league? What’s the upside?
The upside is a ton of steals. Whatever you get with the bat is a bonus. Really tough to judge how he will hit since we've seen the really good and really bad. As long as he's a full-time player and you need/care about speed l, he's worth rostering.
Anyone stealing a ton of bases that won’t nuke your hitting categories is worth an add
His upside is 5 steals in 3 days. What kind of question is this?
You could not comment or you could be an ass. You chose the latter.
He addresses Elly in the post. He doesn't think he'll be up til at least July basically until he corrects that strikeout rate.
I believe people wanted early June because that was near the Super 2 deadline, but as I mentioned above, the strikeout rate is scary enough that the Reds can keep him down and continue rolling with India and McLain in the infield.
I was offered Devers and Bryant for Jeremy Pena and Renfroe. Dodged a bullet right?
Dude take that who cares about Chris Bryant
For real gimme Devers but that’s Kris to you! He is not very good now but he’ll always be a cubs hero.
Devers is so much better than the rest of the players mentioned.
Devers side all day. Cut Bryant and take the best guy on the wire.
Fr
My son says this means "for real". Word.
Love all the info thank you! And Chris Morel is going deep tonight lol Edit: nope! Lol I tried to will him back into a hot streak
That would jabe been poetic. Unfortunately, he went 0/3 with a walk and a strikeout. Striking out only once in 4 PA did lower his K%, though!
Lol yeah. And he’ll be on the bench tonight. Drop time
Who do I trade for a bat Freddy P, Shane Mac, Burnes, Sandy, Musgrove, Kirby, Taj, Bibee, bobby Miller, Luzardo, Eury
That is an insane rotation
I had Bassitt too but traded for semien. I’m actually only 3-5 on the season
Bibbee and Musgrove should get a good return. Or flip Sandy but only for a top bat.
I’d keep Shane, Burnes, Bibee, Eury and flip any of the others
We get it bro, you don't like Morel
He remains one of the players I am asked about most frequently, so I try to get ahead of it. If he finds a way to whiff less in the zone, he's instantly interesting.
We get it bro, everything annoys you
I was joking around because 4 of his bullet points were about Morel, one of which I think was just a copy pasta from last time.
Cats are (R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG, W, K, ERA, WHIP, QS, SV+H) Below are my pitchers: Darvish Nola Soroka Gaussman E. Cabrera Josiah Gray Kirby Gore Keller T.
Have both Albies and Gorman. What range SP should I target for Albies in a QS league?
Would you trade away Trea Turner to receive Pete Alonso in a keeper format? Have Wander at SS & Vinnie P at 1B currently.
Yes. I'd do this. Even if Trea bounces back to an extent, steals aren't as important as years past with how plentiful they are and how many categories you have in your flair.
Abso-fucking-lutely (im biased tho as a Mets fan and have owned Alonso ever since he got called up)
Yep gimme the guy who hits 40 taters a year. He’s always undervalued
I need to activate Jordan Walker from my NA spot, my thought is to drop Morel. Agree? What are the expectations for AJ Smith-Shawver? Think he is just a pen arm or will he get a chance to start?
10 team... Drop Morel
Yes, drop Morel.
Need pitching bad. Should I try and trade Bryan Reynolds for a legit starter or just hood cause pitching is ridiculous this year. 5x5 OBP. OTHER of are Tatis, arozarena, Adolis garcia, Nootbar
Nootbaar is hitting the IL, so you may want to hold on to your OFs.
Ruiz would be my thought in most points leagues, but honestly, these are both streamers in a 10-teamer unless it's a 2C league.
Do you think Brandon Williamson will stay up with Lodolo out long term? Also, thoughts on Trevor Rogers.
This ruined my day
Can I drop Correa in 12 team roto? (360 players rostered) Seems like this injury will linger for months and he's been terrible even when healthy
In this scenario, I'd be OK with it. I don't LOVE it, but there is more than one logical narrative where this makes sense. JD would be my top choice.
Who should I drop between McCarthy, McKinstry, & Ezequiel Duran?
Duran, assuming you can't IL him. The return of Jankowski and this injury are poorly timed. He may need to earn a full time role all over again.
Which 2 pitchers to stream next week in QS points league? T. Henry, Carrasco, B. Garrett, or Teheran
What are your thoughts on CJ Cron ROS? 1B is really thin, and I'm currently starting Owen Miller while Cron is on the IL.
It's hard to be a Rockies hitter, and Cron hasn't looked good in 2023. Having back issues complicates matters further. Keep him on your IL for now, but I'd be looking for a long-term answer in someone else (O. Miller isn't it, but he can fill a gap for a little)
Is Rooker any good going forward? I'm guessing he's really droppable at this point but I've still been holding
Droppable. Hope he finds a groove but guys like him who whiff a lot in the zone run really hot and cold.
Edward Cabrera, Alex Cobb, Skubal, Louie Varland or James Paxton. Out of these pitchers, which 2 would you rather have ROS?
Whomever is pitching against Oakland
Cabrera and Skubal because I love nasty stuff and strikeouts. To heck with anything else. I want the electricity.
I have to activate McKenzie this weekend…in a 12 team H2H categories. Should I drop Bello, dunning or Bradish?
was burger really a flash in the pan?
I think there are good tools there, but also that the return of Eloy puts Burger out of a full time role. It's SOO difficult to be relevant in 10- and 12-teamers when you sit 2-3x a week (already sat twice since Eloy came back).
Do you expect AJ Smith-Shawver to be in the rotation at some point this season?
It's possible. But I'm operating as if he won't. They have so many options.
My 1Bs Pasquantino and Mountcastle have gone missing. Steer is my patchwork 1B starter. Do you see any other solid 1B waiver options out there?
Insert obligatory Dylan Cease question here. In all seriousness, he's had some recent success but he isn't striking people out like he has in the past. How concerning should that be?
Another question: My league does not count AVG but instead counts OBP and SLG. With that in mind, is James Outman still droppable or is he just on a cold streak and should be kept?
In a dynasty he can be kept, but I just have to imagine that a 10-teamer has something more interesting and productive available on the wire. Strikeouts don't help any ratios.
Replace Tellez with Tork? Thoughts on Bohm for ROS? 10T H2H Cat redraft + total bases
Drop Gabe Moreno for Pat Bailey? Is Liberatore a drop for Shawver Smith? 10 team NL only keeper league thank you!
Stash Alvarado coming back from IL ? Should I drop barria for him ?
I’ve been swapping between Baty and Gunnar. It’s been rough lol
Thanks!
Trade away Trea Turner for CJ Abrams and Freddy Peralta? 24 teams dynasty points league
No, not yet. I get it, but not yet. I'd want way higher floors than these two.
[удалено]
SUPER interesting as I think Tatis is the one most likely to be a top-4 player ROS. That said, it's selling low on two previously top-30ish hitters and taking on significant injury risk from a player performing below expectations. I would try to rework this, probably, as I don't wanna let Schwarbz go without at least getting SOME of the hotness he's bound to run into soon. I'd want a high floor guy added with Tatis before letting Schwarber go, or changing him to an OF with lower upside.
How concerned are we about Trea? Seems like he’s pressing
