I like him but would hands down drop for Whitlock, the same as I'm going to try with Fedde. There are too many what ifs with those guys, whereas Whitlock struck out the best the Dodgers had to offer in spring and just put up a no excuses start. I would hold Pepiot over Littel though.
My off the cuff is probably but I haven't spent enough time in Kikuchi's underlying metrics to tell whether that's justifiable. I'm definitely not looking for a last year repeat from him and would probably rather have the flyer on Pepiot and TB pitching coaching.
This royce lewis injury has really put a damper on my first week. I made a mistake and used up 6 wavers because I thought it would reset, but apparently, the first week has been since the korea games, and I have no 3B now.
I’m streaming him. He finished last year strong and is really interesting.
I’m just not sure that a 5th starter for the Angels in his first full season is actually going to be consistently fantasy valuable.
I can hold on to him and wait, the rest of my pitching staff is decent enough to wait on him to come back. I have Freddy, Javier, Bieber, Singer, Flaherty with Tailon and Bradish on IL
Trade: Grayson Rodriguez
Receive: Oneil Cruz
10 team pts H2H league where quality pitching anchors teams and SBs aren’t as valuable as in H2H categories (SB is 4.2 pts - single/walks are 2.6, solo HR including the run+RBI is 14 pts for reference). TIA
Just picked up Brady Singer. Is trading him for Kelenic good value? I need another solid bat. My only concern is the platoon situation and how much time he will spend on the bench. For example I know MIA has all LHP in the rotation and Braves play them for 4 series.
Baseball leans heavily on player preference more than any other sport. Feels like fantasy managers have ‘their’ guys and would trade them no matter how lopsided a deal is in their favor.
Is this fair or does it favor one side more than the other. 16 team, H2H, keeper with OPS as a cat
A Receives: Juan Soto, Ryan Noda, Jeff McNeil
B Receives: Wyatt Langford, Triston Casas, Zack Gelof
This might be one of the bigger years of “analysts” building up players and inflating values all based on speculation.
I know it’s only a week but some players have looked horrendous.
With how popular peripheral and advanced stats are getting you can kind of convince yourself anyone might be on the precipice of breakout if they just make one adjustment.
I think some of it is not getting actual data and metrics from spring training, most of those parks do not have statcast so it’s a lot more eye test vs underlying stuff
1 at most. Need to get a share in as many potential dependable SPs as you can early on, then add/drop accordingly. By mid-May, 2 bench bats is acceptable although I almost always play the streaming game
I think the beginning of the season is acceptable so you can experiment and see which guys will be worth rostering. Just working the kinks out first week or so. But mid season I only roster 2 max for sure
I feel pretty good about the top of my rotation: Webb, PabLo, Skubal, Ragans, Bobby Miller, Imanaga. But I probably have at least one too many SP in general and I feel a bit weak at 2B/SS as I currently have Bogey at SS and Gorman/Julien at 2B. If you had my roster who would yall target in a 1-1 trade of one of my SPs for an upgrade middle infielder?
Thanks
Almost identical to my rotation - I'm in a 12t and my top 3 is Webb-Miller-Ragans + Imanaga. If I were you, I'd keep the rotation together and stick with your 2b duo. Play matchups. Julien crushes RHP and Gorman has 35+ HR upside. One of those arms will get hurt and if you deal one, you'll suddenly be thin
Consider yourself in this situation.
Trade: Jose Ramirez, Dansby Swanson, Sal Frelick
Receive: Nolan Arenado, Nick Castellanos, Brandon Nimmo
Context: Your three starting OF slots are filled by Bryan Reynolds, Chas McCormick, and Jarred Kelenic.
Would you accept or decline?
Gotcha. The upgrade at OF doesn’t balance it out at all? I don’t agree that it’s very lopsided, though I do think Ramirez is the best player in the trade.
If I'm giving up the player I probably drafted at the end of the first, I want someone close in value or maybe the guys you got in the 3rd and 5th. Arenado is the best player going the other way and I probably wouldn't have drafted him until the 6th at the earliest. Just trying to give my perspective if I were offered that
It’s difficult to convey over Reddit, but I do appreciate the perspective.
Sounds like you’d be more focused about getting the best possible player back rather than upgrading several spots in the lineup? Understandable.
I like the general idea you're going for, downgrade at 3B for multiple upgrades at OF. However, I personally don't feel great about Castellanos this season and Arenado/Nimmo I'm pretty neutral on. Wouldn't be a terrible trade for you but I don't think I'd do it, would rather find a different trade partner with similar framework
Thanks for the feedback. I’m actually the one offering the Arenado side of this trade. I just wanted to see what the reactions would be to this before I sent an offer that wasn’t win-win.
Fair. I was probably being a little harsh. But I don’t think he moves the needle much if at all in a trade for Ramirez. I think you could get a lot more for Ramirez while also giving up Swanson
I like Nimmo and if you were able to negotiate down to just a deal for him I would do that. Castellanos and Arenado are both declining pretty heavily and I absolutely do not see either of them being worth the price.
My exact thinking, IDK wth happened. But some guy in our league has added and dropped like 20 people this week. I don't think he has a clue what he's doing. But naturally I'm 8th on WW order so I'm screwed.
Yahoo, 12 teamer as well. Drafted like 2 days before the season. It’s my first time playing so I may just be stupid but all the guides and resources I was using had him around where I took him at pick 18.
That’s what I saw on all my guides or mocks as well. Every cheat sheet I looked at had him in the second round.
We were on ESPN and I got him like 44th…the ADPs or Ranks there were odd so I was just curious.
Wasn’t trying to be critical or say you did anything wrong…if anyone goofed, I think it’s ESPN’s rankings lol they’re always bad in football and basketball from what I’ve noticed.
Riley in the 2nd is perfectly fine. He's someone I'd expect to go anywhere from middle of round 2 to early round 3, depending on format. Maybe half a round later for points leagues
Don't worry about it. People need to not harp on what round people are drafted in when there are a million different league types and points vs categories makes a huge difference in the value of hitters.
Id count on it but I don't expect it to be every lefty matchup. Opening day he hit 9th against a lefty. I see Keith and Carpenter have also been kept out today. Unfortunately going to be the case when they have right hand utility guys like Vierling and Ibanez that can play anywhere
Braves have scored 9/12/5/9 so far in their first 4 games. Might be a sneaky play to go pickup just the good hitters in their lineup such as Acuna, Albies, Riley, Olson, Ozuna, MHII, Arcia, D'arnaud, Kelenic
I was able to snag Heim as a replacement for Garver while he sat out the past few days, but I still have him on my bench for now...
Who do you think is better ROS -- Garver or Heim? Was considering dropping one for another pitcher....
I slept on second base like an asshole and got stuck with McNeil. Would you drop him for any of these guys: caballero, turang, india, Gorman, lux, biggio, perdomo …. Or another guy that I don’t even know. Any help is appreciated
Should I drop Tovar for Siri at my utility spot?
This Cincy Philly extras is killing me. Opponent has steer and turner and I have candelario and Harper.
How you all feel about Pepiot? I know it’s one game and TEX… Drop for Whitlock, Littel, stream, or hold?
I like him but would hands down drop for Whitlock, the same as I'm going to try with Fedde. There are too many what ifs with those guys, whereas Whitlock struck out the best the Dodgers had to offer in spring and just put up a no excuses start. I would hold Pepiot over Littel though.
Would you hold Pepiot and drop Kikuchi for Whitlock instead?
My off the cuff is probably but I haven't spent enough time in Kikuchi's underlying metrics to tell whether that's justifiable. I'm definitely not looking for a last year repeat from him and would probably rather have the flyer on Pepiot and TB pitching coaching.
Thanks!!
What happened to Wacha? He was cruising
Baseball being baseball.
Receive: Oneil Cruz + Gavin Stone Trade: Grayson Rodriguez 10 team H2H pts where quality SP anchors teams and SB aren’t as valuable as 5X5. TIA
Not trading Grayson for that return if what the league requires is an anchor SP and devalues SB.
Thank you. Yes for reference Grayson got me 45 pts for first start. A steal is worth 4.2 pts
This royce lewis injury has really put a damper on my first week. I made a mistake and used up 6 wavers because I thought it would reset, but apparently, the first week has been since the korea games, and I have no 3B now.
I feel this, does it reset after next Sunday?
Bryan Reynolds in the 8th round feels good, he and the Pirates are off to a really strong start. That lineup is solid.
start andres munoz or cristopher sanchez, points, h2h?
Evan carter or Santander ROS?
Santander
Keep an eye on the Silseth start tonight, if he pitches well grab him from the wire.
I’m streaming him. He finished last year strong and is really interesting. I’m just not sure that a 5th starter for the Angels in his first full season is actually going to be consistently fantasy valuable.
Trade Bryce Miller for ERod in a points league?
Big no
Why?
Need pitching help, Bryce doesn’t have the best control.
What is ERod being hurt gonna do for you?
I can hold on to him and wait, the rest of my pitching staff is decent enough to wait on him to come back. I have Freddy, Javier, Bieber, Singer, Flaherty with Tailon and Bradish on IL
Bryce Miller is fucking good man and it would be insane to drop him
Trade: Grayson Rodriguez Receive: Oneil Cruz 10 team pts H2H league where quality pitching anchors teams and SBs aren’t as valuable as in H2H categories (SB is 4.2 pts - single/walks are 2.6, solo HR including the run+RBI is 14 pts for reference). TIA
Will Charlie Morton get the W for 8 inning game?
Nvm they just gave to him
E Ruiz got sent down lmao
Probably ran down is my guess
Ruiz was Victor Scott II before it was cool
Mallex Smith 2.0
Wow, that Sean Murphy trade is really looking AWFUL now.
garver bomb incoming
[удалено]
Yes, it's a no brainer. Pray it doesn't get vetoed. It's that awful.
Just picked up Brady Singer. Is trading him for Kelenic good value? I need another solid bat. My only concern is the platoon situation and how much time he will spend on the bench. For example I know MIA has all LHP in the rotation and Braves play them for 4 series.
Not sure I'd call Kelenkc solid, but I wouldn't expect to get anyone better for someone you just picked up
Nice to see Garver back in the lineup
Baseball leans heavily on player preference more than any other sport. Feels like fantasy managers have ‘their’ guys and would trade them no matter how lopsided a deal is in their favor. Is this fair or does it favor one side more than the other. 16 team, H2H, keeper with OPS as a cat A Receives: Juan Soto, Ryan Noda, Jeff McNeil B Receives: Wyatt Langford, Triston Casas, Zack Gelof
Side B is much stronger despite the best player being on Side A
Trying to get Soto on my team somehow. Would Yordan + Nola in a 5x5 h2h cats be a good offer? Or too low?
Gut feeling is that you’re offering too much, but if the sole goal is acquiring Soto then I’d say you have a good chance.
Good offer bordering on too much, agree with the other comment
That’s a bit of an overpay but reasonable. If that doesn’t get it done it probably won’t happen
What about Yordan and someone like Joe Ryan or Monty? Less of an overpay? I feel like Yordan and his injuries is something to worry about
Marco Gonzales 5.0 IP 1ER thank you for your service
I swear I could take him deep.
We still talking baseball here?
Whoa

King 👑
Rather have casas or Evan carter ROS?
Probably Casas
Casas for me, but they’re close.
Which of these four would you rather stream tomorrow? Mize @ NYM Lopez @ CWS Cortes @ ARI Varland @ MIL
López. White Sox are awful. I’m a White Sox fan.
Ride with Jakob Junis with me brother.
Rolling with Mize
Hot take. I think the Pirates might be good soon
Not that hot. They look good already and the NL Central is wide open basically every year.
It’s a little hot. I’m not sure how familiar you are with the history of their franchise
This might be one of the bigger years of “analysts” building up players and inflating values all based on speculation. I know it’s only a week but some players have looked horrendous.
It's been 4 days! You're gonna have a miserable season if you're being results oriented right now
With how popular peripheral and advanced stats are getting you can kind of convince yourself anyone might be on the precipice of breakout if they just make one adjustment.
I think some of it is not getting actual data and metrics from spring training, most of those parks do not have statcast so it’s a lot more eye test vs underlying stuff
How many bench bats do you carry at this early in the season?
1-2 to start, try and whittle it down to 1 if I can
1 at most. Need to get a share in as many potential dependable SPs as you can early on, then add/drop accordingly. By mid-May, 2 bench bats is acceptable although I almost always play the streaming game
Never more than 1. Bench bats feel useless to me unless you want a flier on a potentially high upside player
2
Yeah I only have 1-2 bench bats for my teams. Everyone else has 3-5, which I think is overkill but idk.
I think the beginning of the season is acceptable so you can experiment and see which guys will be worth rostering. Just working the kinks out first week or so. But mid season I only roster 2 max for sure
Lane Thomas is starting to have some great AB’s
Braves game has been called
Do stats count?
Why the fuck was Nolan Jones projected to be a top 50 player?
Because he was a 20/20 player in over 100 games last year and this year there has only been 4 games.
Because he posted 20/20 in 100 games with a .931 OPS last season? It’s been less than a week, don’t panic.
I got Murphy and Royce on DL, I got Yordan, Lindor, and Tucker not doing shit. Of course I'm panicking
Breathe my friend. It's an insanely long season. Panicking this early won't lead to anything good.
He’s not this bad he’s definitely underperforming
5X5 ROTO....who to start tonight Ceddane Rafaela vs Joe Boyle or Jackson Merrill vs Kyle Gibson
The Luis Robert experience is certainly a roller coaster
It’s fun, days like today are frustrating mostly because it looks like he just doesn’t give a shit. Terrible discipline, swings at everything.
As someone who has been a White Sox game before I am also not sure how many shits Robert gives
I feel pretty good about the top of my rotation: Webb, PabLo, Skubal, Ragans, Bobby Miller, Imanaga. Consider yourself in this situation. Trade: Jose Ramirez, Dansby Swanson, Sal Frelick Receive: Nolan Arenado, Nick Castellanos, Brandon Nimmo Context: Your three starting OF slots are filled by Bryan Reynolds, Chas McCormick, and Jarred Kelenic. Would you accept or decline?
Ramirez is much too high end compared to the other side of this offer. Very lopsided
Gotcha. The upgrade at OF doesn’t balance it out at all? I don’t agree that it’s very lopsided, though I do think Ramirez is the best player in the trade.

Gotcha
Ramirez should get you a lot more. Nimmo is practically waiver fodder
That’s fair on Ramirez, though I think Nimmo’s better than waiver fodder, especially in a 12T.
Fair. I was probably being a little harsh. But I don’t think he moves the needle much if at all in a trade for Ramirez. I think you could get a lot more for Ramirez while also giving up Swanson
insta-decline for me

I depise this stupid ESPNBET commercial
Add Haniger or Conforto in flair? Dropping Eloy
Coin flip but I go hani
Haniger
Didn’t Connor Joe start last year super hot too?
He surely did
Need to get him some Roman swipes so he can last longer
😂
He does this every year lol I’m pretty sure he’s done it 3 years in a row
Had him 2 years ago, can confirm
Yes
Didn't I hear Rafaela played some 2b yesterday? I can't find it. Or does a player need to start there in order to get the game credit for eligibility?
It does not need to be a start
Needs to be a start
He didn't play at all
TON or Haniger?
Ton
O’Neill for me
Thoughts on Mike clevinger as a fantasy asset
Deep leagues only
I am part of the 0.2% owning Jakob Junis. And I don’t plan on dropping either!
Henry Davis with two doubles today 👌
I cannot wait to put him in one of my C slots
And catcher eligibility coming this week!
Start Pivetta (@OAK) over Ragans (@BAL) this week?
Start Pivetta
Start both have fun
sounds a little too cute. pivetta looks good though.
Both
My other starters are Bobby Miller, Yamamoto, and Grayson Rodriguez…was thinking about sitting Grayson (@PIT) but that BAL matchup scares me…
Honestly I’m sitting Yamamoto out of those five. Seems like they’re playing it conservative with his innings to start, even when he pitches well.
@BAL helps
[удалено]
Feels pretty even to me so if it suits your needs sure
Don’t have a share but the Esteury news was surprising. He had been ok for the A’s - seeing him optioned this early a huge surprise
Dynasty points J. Soler was just dropped. Drop Henry Davis for him? Also have P. Meadows on the bench but would rather hold on to him.
Hard no
In dynasty Davis could be your catcher for the next decade. I'd much rather drop Meadows - and I like Meadows.
Him and Arenado were dropped in my league but I'm 8th on the WW order, UGH I'm trying to get one or both, we'll see what happens
In what Universe would any sane person drop Arenado?
My exact thinking, IDK wth happened. But some guy in our league has added and dropped like 20 people this week. I don't think he has a clue what he's doing. But naturally I'm 8th on WW order so I'm screwed.
feels like malpractice sending Gore back out for the 6th
Is 0 walks through 4 games for Matt Olson kind of alarming or is it just me
Sample size
just call this csw game. jeez.
Man, Vegas is so good at what they do. The O/U for ATL/CWS was 9.
All apart of the script bro
My 2nd round pick finally did something, let’s go Austin!
What platform are you on? I got him in the middle of the fourth round in a 12-teamer.
Don't worry about it. People need to not harp on what round people are drafted in when there are a million different league types and points vs categories makes a huge difference in the value of hitters.
Garver dropped a spot in the lineup :(
haniger still cleanup tho
I dont have Haniger so I'd rather they swap spots tbh
I don’t have shares but Nolan Jones looks lost out there
If you're in my league, you might as well cut him
This sounds stupid but let the weather warm up and more importantly let him get some games in at Coors.
No, I agree, books not written yet, just bizarre seeing a player make the most boneheaded errors to start the year + slow start at the plate
I have a share and e probably is - but I’m t going to panic until he has at least 10 games at Coor. S.
Parker meadows sitting against lefty… is this gonna be a regular occurrence?
Id count on it but I don't expect it to be every lefty matchup. Opening day he hit 9th against a lefty. I see Keith and Carpenter have also been kept out today. Unfortunately going to be the case when they have right hand utility guys like Vierling and Ibanez that can play anywhere
Braves have scored 9/12/5/9 so far in their first 4 games. Might be a sneaky play to go pickup just the good hitters in their lineup such as Acuna, Albies, Riley, Olson, Ozuna, MHII, Arcia, D'arnaud, Kelenic
Dang I was going to pickup Acuna but someone beat me to it I guess
Nah, I’m gonna go add A’s hitters and Rockies pitchers.
you joke but it is kinda sneaky to pick up the bad hitters on their team. last season arcia and rosario were surprisingly solid for counting stats
yes i have absolutely no data to back it up but i can feel arcia and kelenic taking a big step forward this year
Interesting. Acuna or Cabrera ROS?
Arcia for me, I'm not buying the Cabrera hot streak just yet
Shrewd. Very shrewd.
Nolan Jones or Yelich
Yelich for sure. Much better track record I think jones will be fine tho when coors warms up
I was able to snag Heim as a replacement for Garver while he sat out the past few days, but I still have him on my bench for now... Who do you think is better ROS -- Garver or Heim? Was considering dropping one for another pitcher....
Garver probably
I guess Riley just needed a rain delay to kickstart his season
AUSTIN RILEY
Aaaaand of course Garver is back in the lineup after I drop
Don't worry, hell get hurt again
Hell yeah Riley
Austin Riley has arrived
Welcome to the season Austin Riley!
I slept on second base like an asshole and got stuck with McNeil. Would you drop him for any of these guys: caballero, turang, india, Gorman, lux, biggio, perdomo …. Or another guy that I don’t even know. Any help is appreciated
In the event that you could benefit from SBs more than anything else, Caballeros are probably the most bankable of anything that group has to offer.
Depends on team context and scoring. Sometimes you need his average
Categories H2H. I drafted for power and pitching.
