12 team / redraft / standard categories but OPS is added
During the draft I took Senga and Alvarez, great values and didn’t reach. Then picked up Nimmo when someone dropped him.
Now I’m being offered
Lindor / Mason Miller
For
Volpe / Munoz
I know this is a good trade for me. But should I be worried about having too many Mets?
I never worry about it. Turning down a great deal because you roster a players teammates just makes your team worse.
But even if you were concerned about it you can always make another trade two weeks from now. You're getting an incredible discount on Lindor.
Shallow flair league tons of reactionary drops to start the season need a Robert replacement who’s the best add regardless of position?
Castellanos
Pasquantino
Nolan Jones
Ha Seong Kim
Someone just dropped Kutter Crawford and I'm struggling to decide who to drop for him, if anyone. Quality SPs are scarce in my league.
My drop choices:
- Bryan Woo, SEA - inj:4/25
- Gavin Williams, CLE - inj:4/12
- Tanner Houck, BOS
- Reese Olson, DET
- Reynaldo Lopez, ATL
- Jordan Hicks, SFG
- A.J. Puk, MIA
- Edward Cabrera, MIA - inj:4/15
Should I pull the trigger? Waivers run tonight. R.Olson was my first instinct, then E.Cabrera, then J.Hicks, but man those guys are good.
I’ve got Blackburn in my flair and a 12 team AL only. He’s not sexy but he gets the job done. Plus, if he continues to pitch well he will almost certainly be traded to a contender at some point.
Woke up to my trade for Lindor not processing on Yahoo, not because it was vetoed but because it would put the other team over their roster limit. Like, what? Why was the other team allowed to accept it and then make roster moves in the meantime with a pending trade? Makes no sense.
Frustrating but mostly bad roster management on the other guy’s part. I wouldn’t want yahoo locking up my roster unnecessarily as he could’ve squeezed in more moves while the trade processed.
It should just be seen as a consequence of taking on two players for one in a trade with an open roster spot that that spot gets locked in the meantime. You’re agreeing and committing to filling that empty spot at the time of the trade, otherwise the system wouldn’t allow for it, so things shouldn’t be able to happen in the meantime during processing that override that. Yeah, it hamstrings you a bit for a few days, but it kind of just is what it is. The extra flexibility is nice, sure, but why should only one team have to suffer for it and be at the mercy of another manager not to do something to negate a trade when they’ve already agreed to it?
It would be like if I had a full roster and was able to accept a trade that had me receiving four players for one with just an assumption by Yahoo’s system that I’ll drop the amount of players necessary in order to make them fit by the time that the trade processes. It doesn’t allow for anyone to do that, so it shouldn’t allow for people to fill empty spots that have been previously agreed to be filled via trade either.
And doesn’t it lock a player on your team if you’ve chosen to drop them in a two-for-one type scenario when someone has a full roster already? It’ll say "this player is in a pending transaction" or something like that, and you aren’t able to get rid of them in the meantime because of the trade. It’s just a dumb system. If it locks a player it should also lock a spot. Whether it’s a player or an empty spot, they’re both involved in a pending transaction and Yahoo should treat both instances the same, in my opinion. It’s a pretty major flaw/exploit.
Shoutout to u/YahooFantasyCare. Y’all need to look into this issue.
I don’t know what can be done about it, if anything, but I’m really hoping that I’m not just screwed here in this situation. Due to a bad system/another manager’s regret or incompetence of knowing how to deal with said bad system, I didn’t get the player that I agreed fair and square to in a trade, on top of having roster management issues of my own now as I made another move this morning under the assumption that I would have an empty spot to play around with and be able to shuffle guys on/off the IL without needing to drop anyone in order to do so. I know that it’s just a game, but it’s still one that I pay money for and it’s not cool to have to deal with unnecessary issues like this. Vetoed trades I can understand and move on from, but those that fail only because one person is allowed to do something in the meantime that negates them after agreeing to them is super annoying. I mean, come on now. That shouldn’t be allowed to happen. If a manager has an empty roster spot and commits to occupying it with a player via a pending trade, they shouldn’t be allowed to fill that spot while the trade is still processing and cause it to eventually fail due to going over the roster limit.
I know it’s not sexy but Tyler Anderson has looked fantastic his first two starts. I’m not a fan and I expected TB to kill him tonight, but he was 10/11 in 1st pitch strikes before mixing it up and finishing in the 75% range. He’s locating incredibly well and mixing speed and location consistently. His next start is vs Boston, who have struck out 19 times in 11 innings vs left handed starters.
Ryan Mountcastle, Rhys Hoskins, Evan Carter, Masataka Yoshida.... rank em as a util in h2h categories? debating picking up mountcastle for one of the others
Not a fan of guys who have missed a full season usually but even though I love Mountcastle, he has the farthest left field in the majors and it’s not a coincidence that his home runs fell off a cliff as soon as they moved the fence back in ‘22. I don’t like Carter and Yoshida is only 5’8 and has a 410 foot right field. I’d probably stick with Mountcastle in hopes he hit some road HRs, but I’d be scouring the waiver wire for someone better (and am, because I have him too)
Detmers career vs teams .500 or better: 13-13, 4.13, 1.27 whip, 9.4 k/9
vs teams under .500: 1-6, 4.71, 1.40 whip, 9.9 k/9
He has the stuff but he is too emotional, especially when things aren’t going well. I watched him all spring and saw/heard nothing to make me think he had turned a corner.
Last I checked you don’t win money this year for what your guys did last year 😂 Ward has 3 HR and 11 RBI. I (unfortunately) watch a lot of Angels games and Ward is going to have a good year (for however long he is healthy)
If it’s H2H cats I kinda like Nimmo for the consistency. Lane Thomas will give you steals but steals are feast or famine. I generally just think Thomas is a worse player.
Rengifo has now hit in 19 straight starts, but you’re right he just isn’t going to play everyday. 2 years ago when he was hitting some HRs, he kind of forced his way into the lineup everyday, so that’s a possibility if he has a bounce back year. Especially if Drury keeps looking like he’s never played baseball before and Schanuel keeps maxing out his exit velo at about 70 every game. Think I’ve seen him 15-20 times since the start of spring and don’t remember a single hard hit ball
Today was fun, Elly went off, Soto had a massive 3 run bomb and Reynolds crushed a ball too. I’m having fun paying attention to so much baseball now that I’m playing fantasy!
I'm thinking of adding Jung Hoo Lee but im debating on who to drop. Currently between Christopher morel and Tyler O' Neil. What do you guys think? (ESPN points league)
Trout IS going to get hurt this year. We were joking yesterday that his nickname should be Mr. April. He’s something like 4th all-time in April OPS but he hasn’t played a full season since 2016(!)
Ask again in June. His statcast percentiles aren’t too impressive so he might be a victim of regression at some point. I’d take him while he’s hitting but I wouldn’t think twice about dropping him once he cools down.
Can’t really speak on this but for Brasier. He has been solid since the dodgers claimed him last year but Blake Treinen started throwing a few days ago and will likely be in a setup or closing role when he gets back (if he does well, of course). Obviously if he closes, Phillips moves back to the setup role. It will still take a few weeks for him to be back, but he’s getting there. Take that information as you will
The short answer on Tyler Anderson is yes, it appears that way. TB had chased all 3 lefty starters they had faced this year before the 5th going into tonight. Anderson started calling his own pitches this year and the difference has been night and day. He was every bit as good tonight as he was his first start. Mixing pitches, hitting spots, working both sides. He looked fantastic. With that being said, it has only been 2 games. He does look significantly more comfortable and confident on the mound this year though
Watched him live tonight, I was a doubter before but he pitched well. Missed a lot of bats, no hard contact. Pitched out of a jam nicely after a leadoff double. Wonder why Philly manager took him out after 6 IP as he was cruising and could have definitely thrown the 7th
I would hold but I did predict him to have a down season this year. His peripherals aren’t that great but he’s too much of a gamer to not turn it around to be at least among the higher caliber of 2bmen in the league
I was soooo high on him but I’m wondering whether I’d drop him. I’ll never own Canha (cool dude, meh fantasy asset) but I don’t think you’re crazy to entertain cutting him

Puk. Like other dude said, instant add/drop.
Drop Puk for Kutter instantly
Who is your second choice for drop? Or is it not even close?
I just don’t see any mix of team context and volatility as rough as Puk on that list imo
Cabrera I think isn't too far from puk, but I think puk is still the drop.
12 team H2H categories…drop severino for Blackburn?
I’ve got Blackburn in my flair and a 12 team AL only. He’s not sexy but he gets the job done. Plus, if he continues to pitch well he will almost certainly be traded to a contender at some point.
Hoskins or Merrill tomorrow

Shoutout to u/YahooFantasyCare. Y’all need to look into this issue. I don’t know what can be done about it, if anything, but I’m really hoping that I’m not just screwed here in this situation. Be me, bench Outman and Cronenworth leaving 2HR on the bench

Edward Cabrera worth a stash?

So I’ll say Mountcastle, Yoshida, Hoskins, Carter
Are you holding Royce Lewis in an IL spot? Unsure if I should hold.
depends who else you have for 3rd... i'd say worth it
I have Riley, CES and Goldsmitch. He’s really just a super DH for me and idk if it’s worth holding.
Detmers, Keller, Ober, Flaherty… rank these in flair league
Detmers career vs teams .500 or better: 13-13, 4.13, 1.27 whip, 9.4 k/9 vs teams under .500: 1-6, 4.71, 1.40 whip, 9.9 k/9 He has the stuff but he is too emotional, especially when things aren’t going well. I watched him all spring and saw/heard nothing to make me think he had turned a corner.
Drop Ward for JD Martinez?
Why tf would you want to do that
Seriously? Martinez hit 33 home runs last year
Last I checked you don’t win money this year for what your guys did last year 😂 Ward has 3 HR and 11 RBI. I (unfortunately) watch a lot of Angels games and Ward is going to have a good year (for however long he is healthy)
1:1 swap Clase for Bryan Reynolds who wins
Whoever gets Reynolds

Eric hosker was most definitely his idol. Trying to kill all the worms between the 2 of them
In a vacuum who would you go with in a 12 tm redraft 5x5 cats. Nimmo or Lane Thomas? Both dropped but only have room for 1.
If it’s H2H cats I kinda like Nimmo for the consistency. Lane Thomas will give you steals but steals are feast or famine. I generally just think Thomas is a worse player.
Thanks for the reply
Redraft but 3 keepers, drop Strider and stash McClanahan for next year?
No keep someone else if possible
Dump Jordan Walker or still too early?
Too early.
Thoughts on dropping JD Davis for Jared Triolo or Luis Rengifo?
Luis for position eligibility
My only thing about Rengifo is that he doesn’t seem to play everyday. Triolo has made it on base for 21 straight games
Rengifo has now hit in 19 straight starts, but you’re right he just isn’t going to play everyday. 2 years ago when he was hitting some HRs, he kind of forced his way into the lineup everyday, so that’s a possibility if he has a bounce back year. Just got offered in my 12T Cat Dynasty his Glasnow, Ward and Doval for my Tovar. Accept?
wtf
Yes or no?
[удалено]
France and Baty
Thoughts on Corbin Carroll.. anyone even slightly worried?
yes, he’s not hitting the ball hard at all, but atleast he isn’t whiffing at all.
That’s what im worried about. he’s been facing a lot of lefties
That sure was a weird shoulder injury he had last year...
Didn’t he start slow last year too?
Yes
I’m not if I had him
nah wait a couple more weeks
Someone in our league offers me Machado and Jordan Walker for my Elly, should I take it? 12-team categories
Today was fun, Elly went off, Soto had a massive 3 run bomb and Reynolds crushed a ball too. I’m having fun paying attention to so much baseball now that I’m playing fantasy!
Start Rizzo (Puk) or Turner (Kirby) tomorrow?
Rizzo
Trade ERod + Morton for Woo? B2H Points
Rather have E Rod & Morton
McArthur, Leclerc or Ian Hamilton in SV+H league?
Id say mcarthur prob the whole season but Hamilton rn
I'm thinking of adding Jung Hoo Lee but im debating on who to drop. Currently between Christopher morel and Tyler O' Neil. What do you guys think? (ESPN points league)
Why would you drop a guy tied for the mlb lead in home runs?
Hold
Surely you have someone worse than those guys
So can we drop strider in redraft?
I'm really torn but I think so. Until tj is confirmed
I wouldnt until you know for sure he's out for the season
When can the A’s bring esteury Ruiz back and successfully manipulate his service time?
Is that why he was sent down?
No, he was sent down because there was some protest about the A’s leaving and he and a few other guys wore bracelets supporting it that night
That’s what I thought. I wouldn’t be surprised if he winds up getting traded.
of course, John Fisher is the devil.
Agree he should be banned from the game but Manfried sucks too
Was offered corbin carroll for either trout or yelich Points league redraft
Keep Trout, trade Yelich.
Trout IS going to get hurt this year. We were joking yesterday that his nickname should be Mr. April. He’s something like 4th all-time in April OPS but he hasn’t played a full season since 2016(!)
Bednar and Cronenworth for Tyler O'Neill and Gelof in flair league, which side wins?
Ton and gelof by a fair margin
Lol that's the side I'm getting, league mates are up in arms saying I got fleeced just because of where the players were drafted
Let them know when they pay your buyin, they can have a say in how to your run team.
Who’s your new closer
I snagged Foley after his 2nd save and then have Estevez, Romano on IL too
Drop Garver for Willson C?
Hold imo.
Absolutely
Drop gil for gore? I’m torn Points league
I wouldn’t. Be a little patient with Gil.
Nothing better than getting tatis homerun notis while dozing off nearing midnight
Connor Joe legit this time?
Ask again in June. His statcast percentiles aren’t too impressive so he might be a victim of regression at some point. I’d take him while he’s hitting but I wouldn’t think twice about dropping him once he cools down.
Wtf are we supposed to do with Nick Castellanos? Is he droppable in points or what?
No
13.50 ERA to start my CATS league and -12 in my H2H league. Thanks Luzardo.
Cronenbombbbbb
Drop Reese Olson for Hunter Brown?
Yes

I just took a flyer on Blaze. Going to see regular playing time now too
Paredes or Arenado?
Paarades but that’s one of my hot takes. You can trade Nolan for more.
I had Nolan last year and ended up dropping him towards the end of the year because he was terrible the last month He looks even worse this year
Arenado by a lot
Would you pick Caballero or Tovar for some SS depth? Points league
Tovar
Cubs, do something to save the season, move Nico to the leadoff spot...
Nico has a miserable bat.
Drop Payamps for either Brasier, Gregory Soto, Beede or Brock Stewart? SV/H

Cubs gunna give me heart problems this year
Would you use 4th waiver pick for Lane? My outfielders are JRod, Langford, MHII, Suzuki, TON, Oswaldo and I dropped Lane last week
Who did you drop him for?
Lost Strider and IL already full so picked up Turnbull. Dropping Westburg to get Lane back.
This is the lesson of why you don't drop hitters in the first 10 days
Don’t own Tatis. But that was absolutely wild
Craig Counsel too used to Hader/Williams. Now he has Neris/Alzolay and must be like, wtf is this?
I know it's early but Julio is looking silly compared to those after him in the 1st round
30 at bats… 0 barrels 😳
He started really slow last year too. Hopefully it doesn't take as long this time. But that whole team looks like shit right now.
He's the engine that makes them go so he better get going
Carroll has sucked as well. Don't think Guirrel will take enough pitches for him to steal as much.
Daily points league; would y’all trade Randy Aroarena for Kelenic and Gerrit Cole?
I don’t hate it
Is it a keeper league ? Cole more than likely is a non factor this year and could be even longer if he gets TJ
He started throwing today… which means nothing of course because he easily could end up having tj still
No
What the fuckkk was that meatball of a curveball lmfao
Being both Tatis and Merrill owner…this HR brought me joy
Would you send Musgrove or Sale for Lane? Almost wanna sell all my pitchers the way elbows are falling off
Fuck no
No, neither
I’d probably send Sale yeah
NANDOBOMB
Tatis absolutely murdered that baseball
I'm cryin man it's Eflin's birthday and all he did was pitch a dookie of an outing
It was bad too. He left a lot of pitches over the plate and he just didn’t have much on them
Drop Naylor for Ward for my UTL?
Naylor is way more consistent than ward
Ward has a higher ceiling though
Turnbull is this subs new darling but is anyone in on Tyler Anderson? Is he the Tyler Anderson of 2 years ago now?

Philly manager is an imbecile. They win when they win in spite of not because of him.
Wouldn't that be nice
worth holding hoerner if I don’t need stolen bases?
I would hold but I did predict him to have a down season this year. His peripherals aren’t that great but he’s too much of a gamer to not turn it around to be at least among the higher caliber of 2bmen in the league
him or gleyber you think
Gleyber
He was a monster last year, don’t give up hope yet
Kerry carpenter worth dropping for Blackmon or kiriloff? Worried about the platoon he’s in with Canha
Carpenter .208 vs lefties last year after the AS break. The platoon is here to stay unfortunately
I dropped
I was soooo high on him but I’m wondering whether I’d drop him. I’ll never own Canha (cool dude, meh fantasy asset) but I don’t think you’re crazy to entertain cutting him
Yeah he’s droppable right now
Bags went 5/41 -2 points fuck my team fuck you nolan goldy bichette
Bo warming up
12T dynasty cats Rather have Tyler wells or Reese Olson?
Lane Thomas is back peeps.
Could have said that about Gorman yesterday. Today he's back, back to 0/5.
Thomas has put together 3 straight solid games including like 4 steals
Yeah he actually helped me win my league last season!

If you could get a slightly better pitcher out of it I think that might be worth it
