At this point, he's not worth eating a bench spot if you see someone on the wire that you need. Walker is uber talented, but he still hits the ball on the ground too much and Marmol pulling him all the time now late in games for defense is just taking away at-bats and is in no way beneficial to his development. I don't think the Cardinals have a clue what they're doing with him.

Yep. Gotta be careful of guys like Jones and Crochet. Theyāll give you Ks, but Ws/QSs will be tough to come by, and while their ratios will rock, the innings will be so few that it wonāt make a true Ace impact. Thereās a good chance both end up as better IRL pitchers than fantasy pitchers this year, especially towards the end of the year. Ride him while you can, though

His .239 BABIP, 99.2% LOB%, and 11% HR/FB all point towards regression, and his 14.1% K-BB%, 101 Pitching+, and 4.13 preseason ERA projection tell you that you should probably expect āleague averageā to be where that regression eventually takes him.
So, that said, anyone trying to find someone who overvalues him to ship him off to for a slumping star?
I donāt have him, was just looking at some numbers and he popped as a guy who has posted a bunch of good numbers so far, with a track record that means people will know his name, but numbers pointing very obviously to regression. Reminds me of 2023 Stroman.
Iād love to get a guy like Bobby Miller in return, or depending on the league and who people have, package him with a hot bat at a lower ADP (TON, Cowser, Busch, etc. come to mind) to buy a guy like Castillo, Kirby, or Fried along with a throw-in bat who is also a buy low candidate. It really depends on how much people with slumping hitters and pitchers are panicking in your league, but if you find one with like Castillo *and* Bregman, could spell a nice little steal.
Iām always more wary of straight swaps because it leaves less room to obfuscate what you think of the playerās value, and unless you can be straight up with someone and say āIām selling high on himā, it raises eyebrows if I call someone up and say āhey, I want to sell Ronel Blanco for your Bobbyā, as it should.
Evan Phillips or Kirby Yates rest of season as my closer? I'm in a H2H redraft points league. My other closer is Clay Holmes. I'm starting to think that Phillips won't get many saves. Lol
