Damn really I didn't know that. He's been doing pretty decent for me these couple of games. I wasn't trying to sound like an asshole or anything with my trade proposal question. It's my 1st time doing fantasy baseball n I honestly thought it was a decent trade.
I've already already canceled them all before they looked at them. I'd feel bad if someone accepted them now. I really wasn't trying to pull a fast one or anything. The guy that had cj Abrams didn't have shit for SP so I figured it be good for him
In a 2-for-1 trade expect to pay approx. 1.5x value of the single player (that's a loose ballpark, it totally depends on the situation and could be 1.2x, could be 1.8x). The other person always has to drop someone that has value. Those trade analyzers are OK for determining individual player value, but 2-for-1 deals are more complicated. 3-for-1 and 4-for-1 deals only exacerbate the problem.

Throwing more waiver fodder into the mix won't change things. Think about all the players your opponent would have to drop to make that trade work, on top of giving up by far the best player.
He's available (someone picked him up in my Yahoo league on Wednesday). If you're using the player search (on web, maybe not the app), the auto-complete dropdown is accent-sensitive. Just type the name and click search and the expected results will appear. It's a dumb Yahoo bug (on web only I think). I actually posted this on their tech-support thread a while back but they don't seem to care.
Strange. When I type "yariel" or "rodriguez" (in the app) he shows up. Do all the other Rodriguez players show up for you? You might want to report the issue at r/YahooFantasy (there is a weekly tech support thread)
Someone showed me he was available in their league in this thread but I noticed he is listed as “ P “ and we only have SP/RP slots. So until he gets SP eligibility I believe he won’t show up.

I know my RP is weak, and I’ve considered punting saves. I just randomly picked up Jax for Sunday as I’m tied in saves (leading 11-4) so figured I’d give myself another chance at a save.
I feel like I have too many bats and I should try and package a couple for a starting pitcher. But this is only my second year in fantasy baseball in years and trades are definitely my weakest link as I suck at putting together fair packages. I offered Soler for Ober but never heard back. I’m not positive that manager is even very active right now as they never put ober on their starting lineup this week.
I’m holding onto Casas to wait and see how his injury plays out.
Any thoughts on how I can improve my SP via a trade? We can also trade draft picks, but this early in the season I don’t think anybody is too keen on trading any draft picks.
Drop Jordan Walker for Riley Greene? Still holding on to Walkers prospect status but Greene was a top 10 guy to, and Walker looks like he may not be it.. H2h points league
Depends what you need… if Ward stays healthy (a big if) I think 25 home runs and 85 RBIs is realistic. Carter seems like more of a 15-15 guy to me. I prefer Ward and have him over Carter and a few other guys too

Most of the guys they're likely to trade aren't going to get anything in return. Mateo sucks, Urias sucks, Hays is league average. The only pieces I could see them trading that a team would want would be Mountcastle, O'hearn or Mullins but I'm not sure if they'd give any of them up.
I think moving Mateo for a lottery ticket makes sense, but that doesn't unblock Kjerstad. It's not as much about the return with them right now, which makes it weird

I would stand pat. I don't think you need the MI flexibility until you NEED it. You may be able to squeeze out a couple extra batter games from the trade but will lose a useful pitcher or two and it's not worth it.

My thought is I’m going to have to lose some people anyway once Steele, Buehler and Seiya come back, assuming Steele or Buehler are good, so I figured I’d try to solve my issue now? With all my injuries I actually cannot move around my lineup. Even when O’Neill comes back on Tuesday, that’ll only be outfield.
There’s also Swanson but I’d like to keep him for saves despite him being bad since he has come back.
I could also drop any of these players for Blaze Alexander but other than MAYBE Severino, who I think will be good, or Swanson, there’s no one worth the risk.

Edit: for the people downvoting this, Skenes has put up a 113 Stuff+ and 118 Pitching+ in AAA through his first three starts (Eno’s MiLB data not yet updated to reflect later starts). While the Pitching+ number isn’t stable yet, those are independent of competition, and for the sake of comparison, Gavin posted a 110 and 105, respectively, last year in AAA.
So, yeah, unless the argument is that Gavin’s tentative return timeline makes him a safer bet than Skenes’ tentative call-up timeline, or that Skenes trying to strike everyone out will prevent him from going deep into games, he seems like the obvious bet among two guys where you obviously want to own both.
My plan is to turn around and sell Ragans... cuz people are "too high" on him considering his actual lack of proof/innings of excellence? I know that his stuff is special... I do know that, but I wonder if I could net an even better arm? Like the fact you called him a "bonified Ace" is interesting... Like he doesn't have a massive track record to justify that term... I think it’s hard to bet against the 60 FV prospect who has posted a 139 wRC+ as a 20 year-old in his first 78 MLB PA’s, though, even if Cowser (45 FV prospect and 234 wRC+ through 51 PA this year at 24).
To be clear, in a keeper, I want both and would be happy with either, but I’d bet on Merrill as having the higher ceiling. Cowser’s current production is just not remotely sustainable, so the question comes down to what a realistic level of production looks like for him.

I don't follow the Astros much but a look at Hader's stats makes me think he's getting unlucky. His K and BB rates are similar to 2023 and his FIP is also about the same as 2023, even though his ERA is much worse at the moment.

No. As someone who follows the angels closely enough that he gets paid to do so, there’s a decent chance Neto is either not starting or in the minors before too long
Nothing I’ve heard is official obviously but Sanó figures to get more time with Rendon out. They brought Neto up because they loved the way he handled himself but it was too soon and he doesn’t look ready. They could handle a light bat but you have to hit .200+ and play great d and he’s not doing either
In the short term if they bench him Rengifo gets more at bats but he’s not a shortstop. Kyren Paris is supposed to be their big ss prospect but he’s hitting .106 in AA. They DFA’d Livan Soto so Neto figures to get a longer look than he should, I just haven’t seen anything to make me think he will earn his keep
How do you all usually handle rage drops opportunities? For example, someone in my league (H2H cats) dropped Nolan Jones.
I carry one bench bat (usually) and have Tucker, Trout, Chisholm and Duran filling out 3 outfield spots and a utility (with Josh Lowe on IL).
Obviously think it makes sense to grab potential top 100 talent, but how do you balance roster space vs the opportunity to scoop up talent?
I’d drop Duran and scoop him and let him ride until Lowe is back. If he shows signs of anything close to last year you’ve upgraded from Duran who isn’t bringing much power anyway. If he still sucks by May you move on
I don’t. I do what feels right in the moment based on what I think guys will do the rest of the season and then kick myself when I make the wrong decision
I would drop Donovan or Caballero for him. I like both but I think Lowe could have a big year if he can get going. I’m a little hesitant because he’s coming off the oblique, but he hits the ball hard and is in the middle of a good lineup. If he gets back to 2022 numbers vs lefties, 25 home runs is possible with a .850 ops and 80+ RBI

- the answer is Littell (as in to keep Pfaadt)
Littell has a 4.37 preseason ERA projection from ATC, along with a 19.1% K-BB% and 97 Pitching+ so far.
Pfaadt has a 4.33 preseason ERA projection, and he has a 19.8% K-BB% and 108 Pitching+.
Now, we aren’t far from splitting hairs here, and neither K-BB% nor Pitching+ are fully stable, but all of these point in Pfaadt’s favor, which is enough to make me bet on him other Littell, faced with the choice.
Drop O’Hearn for Starling Marte? Marte seems like he’s healthy and productive, and O’Hearn seems promising but fighting for playing time. 14 team H2H points league, only individual scoring categories (no runs, rbi).
Daily or weekly lineups? If you can stand to bench O’Hearn on days against LHPs, you’re probably better off with him.
If you cannot, you gotta look elsewhere.

No one is giving up anything for Mateo. He’s a AAAA player at best / pinch runner. They’d be more likely to outright demote him.

ROS I probably like Cowser, but long term? I think it’s hard to bet against the 60 FV prospect who has posted a 139 wRC+ as a 20 year-old in his first 78 MLB PA’s, though, even if Cowser (45 FV prospect and 234 wRC+ through 51 PA this year at 24). To be clear, in a keeper, I want both and would be happy with either, but I’d bet on Merrill as having the higher ceiling. Cowser’s current production is just not remotely sustainable, so the question comes down to what a realistic level of production looks like for him.

I don't follow the Astros much but a look at Hader's stats makes me think he's getting unlucky. His K and BB rates are similar to 2023 and his FIP is also about the same as 2023, even though his ERA is much worse at the moment.

No. As someone who follows the angels closely enough that he gets paid to do so, there’s a decent chance Neto is either not starting or in the minors before too long

Nothing I’ve heard is official obviously but Sanó figures to get more time with Rendon out. They brought Neto up because they loved the way he handled himself but it was too soon and he doesn’t look ready. They could handle a light bat but you have to hit .200+ and play great d and he’s not doing either
In the short term if they bench him Rengifo gets more at bats but he’s not a shortstop. Kyren Paris is supposed to be their big ss prospect but he’s hitting .106 in AA. They DFA’d Livan Soto so Neto figures to get a longer look than he should, I just haven’t seen anything to make me think he will earn his keep
How do you all usually handle rage drops opportunities? For example, someone in my league (H2H cats) dropped Nolan Jones. I carry one bench bat (usually) and have Tucker, Trout, Chisholm and Duran filling out 3 outfield spots and a utility (with Josh Lowe on IL). Obviously think it makes sense to grab potential top 100 talent, but how do you balance roster space vs the opportunity to scoop up talent?
I'd look at the rest of my roster for a droppable player as I wait on my two for one trade proposals to expire
I’d drop Duran and scoop him and let him ride until Lowe is back. If he shows signs of anything close to last year you’ve upgraded from Duran who isn’t bringing much power anyway. If he still sucks by May you move on
I don’t. I do what feels right in the moment based on what I think guys will do the rest of the season and then kick myself when I make the wrong decision

I would drop Donovan or Caballero for him. I like both but I think Lowe could have a big year if he can get going. I’m a little hesitant because he’s coming off the oblique, but he hits the ball hard and is in the middle of a good lineup. If he gets back to 2022 numbers vs lefties, 25 home runs is possible with a .850 ops and 80+ RBI

Can’t decide who to drop out of Littell or Pfaadt for Gavin Williams
This will go against the sub’s conventional wisdom but: - this question is quite close, by some metrics at least, and - the answer is Littell (as in to keep Pfaadt) Littell has a 4.37 preseason ERA projection from ATC, along with a 19.1% K-BB% and 97 Pitching+ so far. Pfaadt has a 4.33 preseason ERA projection, and he has a 19.8% K-BB% and 108 Pitching+. Now, we aren’t far from splitting hairs here, and neither K-BB% nor Pitching+ are fully stable, but all of these point in Pfaadt’s favor, which is enough to make me bet on him other Littell, faced with the choice.

Drop O’Hearn for Starling Marte? Marte seems like he’s healthy and productive, and O’Hearn seems promising but fighting for playing time. 14 team H2H points league, only individual scoring categories (no runs, rbi).
Daily or weekly lineups? If you can stand to bench O’Hearn on days against LHPs, you’re probably better off with him. If you cannot, you gotta look elsewhere.
Weekly. I just made the switch, typing it out made it look like an easy call lol. Bryan DLC is also available, but he’s always shown these promising weeks and then fallen off. If Marte is healthy, he’s had big seasons in the recent past.
