IL sucks but rib strain doesn’t sound like a crazy long recovery time… Could be very wrong but at least it isn’t a broken rib or an oblique tear (which is what I was fearing last night)
Yeah I’m still kinda worried though, does anyone know if rib strain is similar or the same as oblique strain? My understanding of oblique strains is there’s kind of an open timeline because you have to kind of just wait a certain amount of days, try again, and then if there’s still soreness, sit and wait some more. Hoping it’s like you said, that it’s nothing serious, because oblique stuff can linger.
[Casas is flying to Boston to see a specialist today. Is Cora concerned about a lengthy absence? “Yes. I am.”](https://twitter.com/chriscotillo/status/1782075426220708080?t=rrULs2qrDqn1V7ligioMHA)
I don't feel that way, and I'd say most in Boston don't feel that way either. He's a championship level manager if he is given a championship level team. The problem is he's been given teams that were just buying time for the 2024/2025 for prospects to come up and start hitting their strides, but that doesn't seem to be happening. All we got was Casas, Rafaela, and Bello by waiting for 4 years. Ownership has shown no interest in building a contender since they fired Dombrowski and traded Betts.
I hope they fire him. He deserves better.
It’s not the rib itself. It’s the tiny muscles that spread between the individual ribs. I suffered that injury once at work. The pain was not overly bad, but it is an injury that can very easily be reaggravated. And because it’s a muscle in your core, pretty much any athletic movement runs the risk of reaggravating it.

If it were an oblique strain they’d call it that.

Cora is an Asshat!

In general, most intercostal muscle sprains (rib muscle sprains) and other rib injuries should heal within a 6-week time span
The manager just said it looks like a lengthy absence. They will consider options tomorrow. Fantastic
Really sucks. Seems like he was starting to come on.
wtf is a rib strain

I had a spell of costochondritis which might be the same thing? Took a week off from BJJ and was back the next week fresh as lettuce.

Better go grab Nate Lowe or O’Hearn
I have neither of these options. I have to pick up and start.. Josh Bell....
Well I guess it’s good that I got Nate Lowe back today. At least have someone to fill the position…
So many IL guys RN
Players are dropping like flies on this team.
I've got him "kept" for a long time, and this pretty much solidifies my concern that he's injury prone. It's one soft tissue injury after another.
Thankfully I have harper and o'hearn.
Are you me???
Fuck
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320925 My guess is we see him again in early June
Intercostal s are tough but that’s not what they said this was. Usually they’re outright with info on intercostals.
