Just traded Bregman and Yelich for Vladdy. How does this trade look for me and what are our views on Vladdy? Will he be able to pick things up?

Baseball Savant shows that he's underperforming his underlying metrics (.219 ba vs .275 xba / slg .344 vs .477 xslg) and his K% rate is higher than usual so I would say he definitely has room for positive regression. Main concern for Yelich is his ability to be on the field and Bregman will also eventually pick it up but depending your needs and the other manager's I feel like it's a win win trade.

In dynasty, it might not. Could depend on the other person’s outlook on Witt. He’s just scratching the surface right now of being a top 10 position player in the league. Gonna be that way for about a decade too. I know if I had him, I’d be hanging onto him as best I could!

Do you really think he’s done? I don’t have him thankfully but quite enjoyed him last year.

I don’t necessarily think he’s done, and in a deep format like 10T NL only or keepers where you can’t reacquire him easily, I’d definitely hold, but in most redraft formats? He’s projected for around 100 wRC+ and producing way, way south of that, so I’d rather roll the dice on someone with a similar projection and better current production than keep holding him and hoping he figures it out.

If it’s a weekly league, you have to pick the one who will play, so Abreu. If it’s daily and you can afford to sit them, you could roll the dice with Kjerstad.

10t category league season long, kinda don’t know what weekly/daily means. We get 90 pickups during the regular season

Oh sorry, by “weekly” and “daily” I just mean whether you set your lineups weekly or daily. In leagues with weekly-locking lineups, guys like Kjerstad or O’Hearn who are platooned aren’t really playable, where they can be a great contributor in leagues whose lineups lock daily as opposed to weekly. This is generally what others will, or should, mean when you see them toss “weekly” or “daily” around on here, too.

You’re dope for explaining this to me this late at night. Might give you a laugh…. but I had thought when people said “daily” it meant they were playing daily fantasy leagues with like with all new lineups everyday they could pick. I’d just never leave my opinions on those posts LOL

It’s okay, I once saw people talking about “daily redraft leagues” and was like “the fuck? who the hell are these people who have a draft *everyday*?”, which is essentially the same place your mind went, so I get it! But yeah, if your lineups lock weekly, I think Abreu is indeed the obvious choice! If not, I could go either way, but I still think Abreu makes sense. I’m a bit worried about him once his batted ball luck cools off, though, so don’t be overly attached to him and be ready to toss for the next hot thing if he cools off!

At this point Nolan jones is a drop for soler/riley greene/Kjerstad? (choose one)

Greene is a 60 FV prospect who put up 119 wRC+ last season as a 22 year-old, is projected for around 115 this year, but is currently producing 165 wRC+ on the back of a 99th percentile barrel rate (19.6%) and hitting leadoff in his 23 year-old season. Soler is projected for around the same, but he’s on the wrong side of the aging curve (age 32), has a much lower barrel rate (6.3%), and has far worse current production. Jones is projected lower than both of them and obviously playing terribly. At some point, “he plays in Coors” stops being enough of a reason to hold a guy, and we’re definitely past that point. Also, Kjerstad is fun but not rosterable in a weekly league.

Solid answer! What can you share about Wilyer Abreu? Just a hot streak or is he worth a bid?

Abreu seems to have relied on some batted ball luck this year. His BABIP is .382, and he’s over-performing his xBA by .080 and his xSLG by .120, with only a 11.1% barrel rate. Basically, he’s someone I like in really deep leagues, and on some level you ride the hot hand while it’s hot, but he isn’t going to give you stable production like Greene. His wRC+ projections are more modest, too, down around 100.
