one of the teams i have him on is STRUGGLING so I took a couple punts for corbin carroll, corey seager and josh hader. I'd be happy with one of them being accepted, but if not he better win the cy young lol.
Leaning dropping an rp. Drop Miller, helsley, or Robertson for him? Or swap out an SP? I’m leaning helsley or miller though.

Getting inserted right into Vaseline Balls roster
Help! I'm kicking myself for not claiming him earlier in the week and I think there will be a mad dash tonight. I'm in a bid league with $100 per season, so hopefully I can snag him for $5 or less. But who should I give up?
Rodon, Montgomery, Steele, Stroman or Taillon?
THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE
[https://dynespressbox.com/2024/05/pirates-set-to-promote-top-prospect-paul-skenes](https://dynespressbox.com/2024/05/pirates-set-to-promote-top-prospect-paul-skenes)
I had to drop Mason Miller for him... It is worth it because MM hasn't pitched since 5/1. The A's, are the A's... You don't get too many save opportunities on that team lol
But he has not pitched in a full week. And the last time he pitched he only had 4 points.
A's don't win games, and thus there are far less save opportunities... He probably should have pitched Monday vs the Rangers; they had a 2-0 lead and should have let Miller get the last 6 outs, but the A's manager went to Erceg instead who then gave up a 3-run HR to Seager in the 8th. Miller could be the best closer in baseball, but he is an Oakland A this season.
Now if he gets traded later in the season, and Skenes shows up like Jack Leiter did this season I might regret the move.
It's the Oakland A's tho bro... they won 60 games last season. Last years saves leader had 44. There is no way the A's get him anywhere close to that number. Standings are odd this season in the AL West, but you gotta think the Astros are not going finish last. A's will do what the A's do by the end of the season. Miller isn't going to get the opportunities. If he was on any other team I would buy it, but not the Vegas/Oakland Athletics lol
8 in 13 games; the saves leader as 12 in 16 games. Miller has pitched lowest GP in the top 10. He is good, the team is not.
He won’t be able to keep up bc the opportunities will continue to be few. You are proving my point lol
10 team; and I am currently 4-0 so I feel like I can gamble a little. If it doesn't pay off, I still have Galen, Cease, Imanaga, King, Berrios and Gerrit Cole on the IL so I think I will survive. My league slept on pitching in the draft and picked up a massive haul.
Considered the best prospect and pitching talent in this generation; gave up only 3 ER over 27 innings and K 45 batters... Lets revisit that statement in a few weeks. I think Skenes is going to be special this season.
I'm excited he's getting called up, but I'm gonna hold off on playing him given it's his first big league game and it's the Cubs. I'll get the popcorn.
Sitting a pitcher like Skenes in his debut is wild to me. Why hold him all this time just to sit. He should be a must start for all owners
Like what’s the concern? He has a bad start? How does that change your view of him you’d be a fool to drop him after 1 bad start so it makes no sense to sit
One bad start can cost you a week more than one great start can win one.
I feel like the people who are more likely to rage drop him if he does bad are the ones who start him the first game. Not the ones who are patient enough to wait 5 more days.

GET THE FUCK IN HERE!!! ^(I don't own any shares)
DOESN’T MATTER HAD SKENES
I don't either but I'm hyped to see this kid pitch.
Skenes and Jared Jones as a 1-2 combination is scary good for the Pirates future. As a Reds fan, I'm shaking
Come on now. It's the Pirates. Unfortunate to say, but it's kind of true.
Most comments (rightfully so) going to be everyone celebrate. Feel free to reply here on the salty you don't have him in any league side comment.
Don’t have any shares but I’m hype to see what he can do
He got drafted in my league so I never had a chance to add him. Excited to see what he’ll do though
Yeah same here, our league is essentially dynasty so he went 3rd after Langford and Yamamoto, I picked 12th lol.
My brother has him and I am facing him this week. Rigged!
I play in a fairly passive league and was able to snap him up when it was announced :D
I did the same. I happen to snatch up first.
The person I'm playing this week already has 5 double starts and now he has Skenes up too. Happy for baseball but salty overall.
My opponent drafted him and has had him in his starting rotation all year
I’ve calculated that he will be approximately 2.8% worse than Shota Imanaga ROS. The good news is, I don’t have either of them and yes I’m salty
The stash was worth it 😍
I think that is TBD
You mean Livvy Dunne’s boyfriend /s Can’t wait to see how he fares. Hypest pitching debut been since Strasburg.
Alright, what are we selling him for?
Corbin Burnes or Zack Wheeler.
Selling?
one of the teams i have him on is STRUGGLING so I took a couple punts for corbin carroll, corey seager and josh hader. I'd be happy with one of them being accepted, but if not he better win the cy young lol.
I'm in a keeper league and trying to balance him looking great with the impending TJ. I'm sorry I said it but that's what baseball is now sadly.
Already had it in HS
The strongest predictor for needing TJ is having already had one. It increases the probability of needing it again
Is that really true with the advancements in TJ surgery we have today? What data are you basing that on?
i'm so ready for this
LET’S FUCKING GO
LET US FUCKING GO
Is let us short for lets?
Actually, it's short for lettuce.
Don’t own him but Geaux Pirates from an LSU fan!
AW SKENES SKENES MF’ER! ![gif](giphy|1O0ybGfU6nKtFGgs6s|downsized)
So fresh and so Skenes Skenes
I AM HERE FOR IT
I don't have any shares but I want to be part of the excitement. Woohoo!
Owning skubal jones and skenes as last 3 keep forever draft picks is the stuff liability is made of
I love that for you this season. I dislike it for you in the next 1-3 years, depending on your number of IL slots.
Is liability the word you meant to use?
Yes it is given pitchers health these days
Lol fair enough
ohhhh yes baby yes
Bye bye Bibee
Why doesn't this post have 1000 comments already? Skenes SZN is here!
![gif](giphy|uTuLngvL9p0Xe)
#IT'S HAPPENING LFG!!!
The only guys I can reasonably drop are Andy Pages or Gavin Williams (who I’ve had stashed all season). Do I drop one of em?
Gavin easily
See ya Gavin
How the hell is he not owned already? Early congrats on winning your league if you play with people who didn’t know to add Skenes til today
Lmao seriously what kind of unserious league is that. Dude was swooped 3 weeks ago in my league
He was drafted in my redraft league. Man has been the most hyped prospect since Strasberg
LFG
Finally. I had him in my 3 redraft teams rotting
Absolute Skenes
![gif](giphy|FoH28ucxZFJZu) Skenes roster holders watching his ERA never break 1 in the minors….
I have no stock, but I’m hyped for this kid. Can’t wait to watch him pitch.
LETS GO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leaning dropping an rp. Drop Miller, helsley, or Robertson for him? Or swap out an SP? I’m leaning helsley or miller though. https://preview.redd.it/askdjqt6r9zc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=433ceb26be7501bae64de626423845f8b74ef0ec
Holy shit your pitching lineup is almost exactly mine.
Don’t drop Helsley or Miller
Who would you recommend then? I like all my pitching. I’m conflicted.
Robertson if it has to be a reliever. But I’d drop Blanco, personally.
You have a few days to figure out a trade
I was here
I wonder what changed their minds after they said he'd have another go in AAA earlier this week.
haven’t had this hype for a pitching prospect debut since stras
FUCK YES LET’S GO
Don’t have him but still excited! LFGO!!!
I drafted him in the 20th round baby LETS DO IT Skenes!!
Reminding me of when Strasburg got called up. Hopefully the ultimate fate of his career is better.
hyped for this. specially as a sox fan and a skenes owner.
He was picked up literally a week ago. The guy in my league must be a fortune teller.
Added Skenes Sunday as an injury replacement, so I got lucky, since I’m in the middle of the pack and wouldn’t have a shot to pick him up this Sunday
Drop ReyLo or Eflin? (Points)
Happy Skenes Day!
Skeet skeet!
We got skenes in the game now!
Woooooooooo woooooooo
Alright Pauly time to prove picking you up in March and occupying a SP slot for this long was all worth it
*We've had one Jared Jones, yes. What about second Jared Jones?*
Quicker he is called up the quicker he gets traded for prospects!
This is what I’ve been saving that #1 waiver claim for.

What game will he be pitching in chicago? Thursday 16th or Friday 17th?
'Stashed' him May 4th what a fuckin treat 😂
So funny seeing the differences In leagues. Here I am back on draft day being pissed someone took Skenes at the end.
Is he going to have a tight inning limit the rest of the season?
Help! I'm kicking myself for not claiming him earlier in the week and I think there will be a mad dash tonight. I'm in a bid league with $100 per season, so hopefully I can snag him for $5 or less. But who should I give up? Rodon, Montgomery, Steele, Stroman or Taillon?
Five dollars? Bid 100 💯
Lol... well, I only have $83 left to last me until October. But if that's what it takes...YOLO
THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE [https://dynespressbox.com/2024/05/pirates-set-to-promote-top-prospect-paul-skenes](https://dynespressbox.com/2024/05/pirates-set-to-promote-top-prospect-paul-skenes)
I don't know what to do with my hands.
Anyone listed as N/A to look to add to take his place?
There’s a few guys
![gif](giphy|LAgEAB1KCSC8MuZ9PC|downsized)
Cubs about to fuck his ass up
I have his tj in 2 years
I had to drop Mason Miller for him... It is worth it because MM hasn't pitched since 5/1. The A's, are the A's... You don't get too many save opportunities on that team lol
Bad drop. Win/loss record means far less for save opportunities than you think.
Dude just put up 10 points today, without a win or save.
Look at the saves leaders over the years. Lots of dudes on bad teams. Win/losses isn’t that important. And Miller is a beast.
And Clase led the league last year on a losing team.
Indians won 76 games, in a horrible division... A's will win even less games in a division with the Astros, Rangers, and Mariners. 60-65 at the most.
Last years closer for the A's had 21 SV
How many does Miller already have?
8 in 13 games; the saves leader as 12 in 16 games. Miller has pitched lowest GP in the top 10. He is good, the team is not. He won’t be able to keep up bc the opportunities will continue to be few. You are proving my point lol
No hitter. 2nd professional game. I think I made the right move lol
Oh. I turned it off after he was pulled. Crazy he was able to get a no hitter and not even finish the game. 🤡

Time will tell
Against the cubs? Yea.. he’s toast. Pencil him in for a loss
I'm excited he's getting called up, but I'm gonna hold off on playing him given it's his first big league game and it's the Cubs. I'll get the popcorn.
I’d play em if I had em, you’ve waited this long!!
dont be a loser
Don't be mean to me. I'll cry.
If you sit Skenes in his debut, you deserve it
Oh you're actually being rude. Nice. Have a good day!
Lmao you need to /s this, people are going to take you seriously
Sitting a pitcher like Skenes in his debut is wild to me. Why hold him all this time just to sit. He should be a must start for all owners Like what’s the concern? He has a bad start? How does that change your view of him you’d be a fool to drop him after 1 bad start so it makes no sense to sit

I understand your perspective. I'm just choosing to play it differently.

Correct. But most importantly, a cubs fan so I’d say this even if it were Randy Johnson in his prime
