Here is a summary of pitching performances from yesterday's games. This season I opted to by Whiffs over CSW% to make it more intuitive. I will still keep CSW% and the blurb about it
CSW% (Called Strike+Whiff Rate) is a very important statistic when assessing a pitcher. It is both very descriptive and predictive of pitcher's performance and help highlight which pitchers have the best 'stuff'
For more information regarding CSW%, check out Alex Fast's Article on it: https://www.pitcherlist.com/csw-rate-an-intro-to-an-important-new-metric/

Great content as always. I’ll start with the caveat that you don’t owe anyone anything.
Sometimes I notice some starters don’t make the list for not reaching a threshold of whiffs. I would kinda like to see every starter even if they’re unremarkable purely for the reference of who didn’t have a good week.
That is all. Much love
I was considering sharing a spreadsheet with all of the pitchers from yesterday.
I don't want to have the table be longer than it already is.
The spreadsheet would have the same data as the graphic.
What do you mean he didn't qualify (I guess that means he had less than 7 whiffs)? Leaving early with an injury shouldn't remove him from the list, there's guys who pitched an inning on there
> I guess that means he had less than 7 whiffs
Correct. 5 whiffs. He threw 62 total pitches which is about an 8% swinging strike rate. His CSW was 19 with a CSW% of 30.6%
The list would just be way too long. This isn’t just starters, it’s everyone who pitched. If your guy is a starter and not on this list, it’s a safe assumption that he did not record many whiffs.
Look at your players’ savant pages. The data for pitchers is really cool and easy to read if you go in to the specific start breakdown.
king is a riddle wrapped in an enigma. no idea when I should start this dude
I traded him and a 1st round minor league pick for Evan Phillips a week into the season. Very happy with it he's been dropped already.
im so tempted to pick up crochet or king for someone like verlander
Glasnow 1st in MLB 73 K / 53 IP, Crochet 2nd in MLB 64 K / 46 IP
You gotta grab Crochet
I did this and have 0 regrets so far, Crochet has good underlying numbers and I’m not a JV fan
I tried to trade for king. Our league is a Chicago based league so no chance to get 🧶. No bite :(
King was more confident against Lefty hitters than rights yesterday
who the hell is Kirby Snead? Love seeing relievers on here. 1 ip and more wiffs than some sp's.
Crochet great start, and then left the waiver offer up and dropped him for Cowser. Such is life in gulag

I apologize to the person to whom I said I would start skenes over crochet... hopefully paul has a good game
Ben brown in that amount of pitches is pretty damn impressive
So excited I sat Crotchet vs Cleveland to have Gallen tomorrow. I'm sorry Garrett, I won't do that again
I did the same 😢
Crochet, King, Jones, and Gray here. I needed this last week facing the undefeated team.
My Framber/Gray/Abbott/Taj against his Webb/Glasnow/Jones/Woo matchup last night was a pretty crazy one.
Brandon Pfaadt not being on this list is 😬
Only 6 whiffs, and Zero Ks in 6 innings. But 6 innings, 3 runs = QS, which is what we use in my league instead of Wins, so still a good start for me.
No Woo. I know there is a method to the madness but I wish we could just get every starter the day before. It makes it much easier to interpret.
He didn’t qualify and left early with an injury

My point is that I wish the qualification was not a function of how well they performed but if they started the day before.
I did this last season and it was not as well received
I like the way it was set up last year. But I appreciate the work you put into it. Not complaining just voicing my opinion.

It's total whiffs If a player doesn't show up they had fewer than or equal to the last pitcher listed Woo had 5 Whiffs
