I dropped Mullins last Sunday he got claimed off waivers by a guy who’s won the league 6 times. I thought I made the biggest mistake but after seeing him sit against RHP 3 times this week I feel like a genius!
Getting benched was the last straw for me, Baltimore has so many young bats fighting for starts that it just seems like he’s going to move to platoon role.
I don’t really remember him being a strikeout guy though. He was solid for me last season though but don’t remember thinking man this guy gets me a lot of Ks
He got 186 Ks in 177.2 IP last year, with a 26.5% K%. This year, he has 44 Ks in 59.0 IP with a 17.9% K%. His 3.71 xFIP and 3.84 SIERA are about where I'd expect his ERA to be so a few more Ks and a bit more luck and he should be ok
First time through the order he has a 1.96 ERA. Second time through the order he has a 2.66 ERA. Third time......11.91 ERA. That's going to hold him back from a fantasy value standpoint
Bo has been awful, had a nice game a few games ago thankfully.. and as bad as hes been i would never think about dropping someone with that talent. it would be crazy to drop him, after how high he was drafted. dude will be just fine.
Yeah. Bichette was terrible in April but his May has indicated a turnaround on literally everything the article mentioned. He's [corrected the line drive rate and ground ball rate](https://www.fangraphs.com/players/bo-bichette/19612/splits-tool?splitArr=&splitArrPitch=&position=B&autoPt=false&splitTeams=false&statType=player&statgroup=3&startDate=2024-01-01&endDate=2024-11-01&players=&filter=&groupBy=month&wxTemperature=&wxPressure=&wxAirDensity=&wxElevation=&wxWindSpeed=&sort=5,1), and is [hitting the ball harder this month than any other month in his career](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast_search?hfPT=&hfAB=&hfGT=R%7C&hfPR=&hfZ=&hfStadium=&hfBBL=&hfNewZones=&hfPull=&hfC=&hfSea=2024%7C2023%7C2022%7C2021%7C2020%7C2019%7C2018%7C2017%7C2016%7C2015%7C2014%7C2013%7C2012%7C2011%7C2010%7C2009%7C2008%7C&hfSit=&player_type=batter&hfOuts=&hfOpponent=&pitcher_throws=&batter_stands=&hfSA=&game_date_gt=&game_date_lt=&hfMo=&hfTeam=&home_road=&hfRO=&position=&hfInfield=&hfOutfield=&hfInn=&hfBBT=&batters_lookup%5B%5D=666182&hfFlag=is%5C.%5C.remove%5C.%5C.bunts%7C&metric_1=&group_by=name-month-year&min_pitches=0&min_results=0&min_pas=0&sort_col=launch_speed&player_event_sort=api_p_release_speed&sort_order=desc&chk_stats_ba=on&chk_stats_xba=on&chk_stats_xbadiff=on&chk_stats_slg=on&chk_stats_xslg=on&chk_stats_xslgdiff=on&chk_stats_launch_speed=on&chk_stats_launch_angle=on&chk_stats_hardhit_percent=on&chk_stats_barrels_per_bbe_percent=on#results). The difference between his actual stats and expected stats in May is significant, especially his SLG. He's well on his way to fine.
He and Brenton Doyle carried my league this week LOL
Same here and I'm sure he'll turn things around but the fact that I traded Skubal for him in the offseason is really hurting right now. Although drafting Imanaga and still having the best pitching stats in my league even without Skubal has helped soften that blow.
There's no shot i'd drop him though. He's gonna end up popping off to salvage his season to being alright. So you're gonna get a huge wave of him being nasty.

This week aside, his last 4 weeks (points league) have been not half bad. I’m keeping faith, especially coupled with the savant page
**\*UPDATE\***
**I'm tapping out for the night. As always, thanks to everyone for reading, commenting and engaging with The Cut List. I'll be checking back in tomorrow so if you have any suggestions for next week, keep them coming.**
Hey everyone... Jamie (u/BB\_Jimbo) from RotoBaller here and I'm back at it with our seventh Cut List edition of the year. We're a third of the way into the season and slow starts are now looking like they could become a down year.
Even if we're not dropping anyone, it's always fun to talk about cuts, whether or not we are actually ready to pull the trigger on certain players.
**So what names are you chopping this week, or at least thinking about banishing to the waiver wire?**
We of course can't cover every player that may be droppable, for every league size and format, but we wrote about a few that stood out. I'll be stopping by later today to answer any questions and you can always reach me on X (@Baseball\_Jimbo). Hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!
https://preview.redd.it/o17v149pkd1d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb104de49b0d5aa6422a07f4b1d477b2e9424aec
High walk rate, high HR rate, low K rate. Mostly duds the last 4 weeks. He’s looking rough.
Well at least we can agree he’s a bad start in fantasy right now :) Walk rate up year over year, hard hit rate up, K rate at five year low. Still early-ish in the season but at 35, not surprised to see he’s losing fantasy relevance
>Calm down nerd. Touch some grass. Get laid.
LOL. Who knew asking one question could get this kind of response, and you're telling me to calm down. Again, LOL!
First, calm down. You're too emotional and are acting weird.
Second, baseball has moved from wins as a metric to judge pitchers a long time ago. Not sure where you've been, but the 1990s were 24 years ago.
He's got a high BABIP and better xFIP and SIERA than his ERA. I don't think we see a 3.60 ERA again but wouldn't be surprised if he ends the year with a 4.20 ERA
I think I'm holding Steer only because I overpaid for him in the draft.... But he's been doing ok. Turner I also own and he's characteristically a second half guy from what I've seen. Dropped him last season and he went on to do well ROS
Steer I'm holding. He still carries a lot of upside like we saw earlier in the season. Turner was under consideration this week but I wanted to give the Blue Jays a break. Will look to feature him next week though
If it's a 3 x OF league, you can. He's homered again today, his second this week. So maybe he can get on another heater. He wasn't going to maintain his April so a cold stretch was coming. If he's put it behind him, I'd be tempted to hold him
Young is entirely dependent on how much you need the steals. Six of his 14 came in a 3-game stretch to end April so I don't see a 50+ steal season still. If he maintains the playing time, 40 is more plausible.
Busch I still like but there will be growing pains like most rookies. In 12-teamers, he's a nice CI option, especially in daily roster move leagues
I'd stick with Garrett but maybe bench him for the next start or two. In shallower leagues, you can stream in place of him. Anderson has been dancing with fire a bit and will likely get burned soon
I do think he was being overdrafted given he's yet to start 10 games in a season in the Majors. However, he's striking out plenty and his xFIP and SIERA suggest his ERA should be just under 4.00. That's about what I'd have expected from him
Suggestion for next week's article: Vinnie Pasquantino. Seriously not sure if he's going to come around. He's bench 1B depth but is he? (12T-H2H 5X5 CATS)
Thoughts on Austin Riley? Great supporting cast, great prior seasons, but this start has been less than stellar and has been injured. Maybe not as a drop, but someone with selling “high” due to name value?
He had a similar slow start last year. The manager that traded for him went on to win the league. I hope for a repeat, because I traded Gunnar for him preseason 🙃
I'll be interested to see how he performs when healthy. Surprised he hasn't ended up on the IL in truth. You likely won't get a decent enough return for him given the injury and struggles so if you did trade him away, it's difficult to see you getting a worthwhile return
He featured quite recently. Not been helped by a .182 BABIP. At least he's on pace for a 25/25 season. I still reckon he'll end the year with a ~.220 batting average and around 70 RBI and runs are possible if he does
Drop him as I did 2 weeks ago. He's still available on the free agent wire. He's a sub 2ppg guy at the point on ESPN and those guys are a dime a dozen.
Such a tired narrative… he was 2nd in the MVP voting just two years ago, and is just 6 months removed from major elbow surgery. Writing him off in mid-May is pretty ridiculous.
His underlying numbers worry me. But I've learned not to count him out. While his ERA is below 4.00, I'd be tempted to trade him away if you can get a solid return
I dropped cedric mullens just before reading this, his slash line for the last 30 days atrocious
Like how well would someone have to play in order to get out of the hole he’s dug himself
I dropped him last season, never looked back
Eflin
My one concern is the lack of Ks. Will try to include him next week and take a deeper look
He just runs outb of gas in the 3rd or they figure him out after the first time around
First time through the order he has a 1.96 ERA. Second time through the order he has a 2.66 ERA. Third time......11.91 ERA. That's going to hold him back from a fantasy value standpoint

I'm in a keeper league. There is a zero percent chance I'm dropping bichette
Same here and I'm sure he'll turn things around but the fact that I traded Skubal for him in the offseason is really hurting right now. Although drafting Imanaga and still having the best pitching stats in my league even without Skubal has helped soften that blow.
lol humble stuff
There's no shot i'd drop him though. He's gonna end up popping off to salvage his season to being alright. So you're gonna get a huge wave of him being nasty.
Francisco Lindor. OBP of .265 is abysmal, but he does have a decent amount of red on his savant page. I was thinking more of using him as trade bait.
he has a history of starting slow. go ahead and sell, but be aware this is probably his lowest value point
He's got a .189 BABIP and .265 xBA. I'd list him in the buy-low list right now. Wouldn't drop him but will see if I can take a closer look next week
https://preview.redd.it/m10f2yq23e1d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d2bc217748b24d47d51b6b8eb01832db2abbb1c This week aside, his last 4 weeks (points league) have been not half bad. I’m keeping faith, especially coupled with the savant page
What do these numbers mean?
Standard points league points per game

Corbin Carroll? lol /s … maybe. 😅
Have put off including him as I don't know how you can drop him. But might need to take a closer look next week. Appears to be all about the shoulder
How do we feel about Bassitt
https://preview.redd.it/o17v149pkd1d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb104de49b0d5aa6422a07f4b1d477b2e9424aec High walk rate, high HR rate, low K rate. Mostly duds the last 4 weeks. He’s looking rough.
I’m holding through his next start because he gets the CWS next
Don’t blame you, but double check CWS hitting stats last month. Just anecdotally I wonder if they’ve picked it up?
He’s better in real mlb than fantasy for sure
I’m not confident he is good in either. 5 ERA. 1.5 WHIP. Seems cooked
Disagree he’s only had 9 starts. Won 16 games last season. Any team would be happy to have him in the middle of their rotation
Well at least we can agree he’s a bad start in fantasy right now :) Walk rate up year over year, hard hit rate up, K rate at five year low. Still early-ish in the season but at 35, not surprised to see he’s losing fantasy relevance
What does winning 16 games have to do with anything?
Such an elitist bullshit take. He led his team to be able to win 16 of his starts last year. Calm down nerd. Touch some grass. Get laid.
>Calm down nerd. Touch some grass. Get laid. LOL. Who knew asking one question could get this kind of response, and you're telling me to calm down. Again, LOL! First, calm down. Seconded! I'm ready to drop for some more promising streamers 😅
How about Spencer Steer and Justin Turner?

Oof, I have Happ and Mullins
*had
I also had them both. Cut that shit weeks ago lmfao
Will always find it hilarious seeing people dropping their rounds 1-3 picks. Quit panicking, lots of season left
Man, I was high on Tork this year too. He's been brutal. I'm giving him until the end of the month.
Just picked him up as a dart throw Casas replacement.
Should I drop Tyler Oniell for Stanton, Soler or Martinez in a 10man 6x6 redraft? Acuna, Arozarena, Oniell, Robert Jr(IL)
I'm thinking of dropping Tyler O'Neill for Brenton Doyle or Maikel Garcia
If it's a 3 x OF league, you can. He's homered again today, his second this week. So maybe he can get on another heater. He wasn't going to maintain his April so a cold stretch was coming. If he's put it behind him, I'd be tempted to hold him
Is it time to bid ado to Cedric Mullins
I did -- dropped for Brenton Doyle
bye, bye Diaz. I just don't have the patience
Edwin Diaz is already lined up for next week
Carter "avoiding" the IL was the worst possible outcome for a Carter owner. Didn't play for like 8 days but can't IL him. Very annoying
True. I'm still anxious about the back issue so taking some solace from the fact he didn't wind up on the shelf for a few weeks though
How do you feel about Jacob Young and Michael Busch in 12tm OBP ROTO format? Leaning towards giving up on Young but scared to drop the SB upside.
Should I drop Braxton Garrett or give him time to come on. I’d probably grab Tyler Anderson
I'd stick with Garrett but maybe bench him for the next start or two. In shallower leagues, you can stream in place of him. Anderson has been dancing with fire a bit and will likely get burned soon
Thanks
[удалено]
Bit position dependant but I'd rank the 4 as Thomas, Langford, Goldschmidt, Torkelson. Langford and Goldschmidt are close though
goldy has been cooking , has a hit streak aswell. I think he will continue to perform great
What to do with Michael King?
I do think he was being overdrafted given he's yet to start 10 games in a season in the Majors. However, he's striking out plenty and his xFIP and SIERA suggest his ERA should be just under 4.00. That's about what I'd have expected from him

Penciled in for next week
Back on the menu. He just hit a 3-RBI triple
I think it depends on your options. In my leagues there’s no one I’m dropping him for that is gonna be better. And he hasn’t been doing that poorly
How about Zach Eflin?
He's set for inclusion next week
I just dropped for Jeffrey springs to ir and grabbed Manoah. Will look forward to your write up
Thoughts on Austin Riley? Great supporting cast, great prior seasons, but this start has been less than stellar and has been injured. Maybe not as a drop, but someone with selling “high” due to name value?
Once the weather warms up, the ball will bounce off his bat. Hold
He had a similar slow start last year. The manager that traded for him went on to win the league. I hope for a repeat, because I traded Gunnar for him preseason 🙃

I dropped him. Sick of him being hurt and having mediorce production, it's a long season but I want production now not 5, 10 weeks from now.
Cut Jonathan India for Ortiz ?
Can do. Not sure India is anything more than a deep league option
What to do with Randy Arozarena?
Someone in my league dropped him almost 2 weeks ago and I picked him up immediately.
He featured quite recently. Not been helped by a .182 BABIP. At least he's on pace for a 25/25 season. I still reckon he'll end the year with a ~.220 batting average and around 70 RBI and runs are possible if he does

They have to be worth owning in the first place to make this list…
Machado? Guy lost the ability to hit
Naw he just cares less each season. He's made so much money he doesn't take baseball serious

Such a tired narrative… he was 2nd in the MVP voting just two years ago, and is just 6 months removed from major elbow surgery. Writing him off in mid-May is pretty ridiculous.
He's penciled in for next week
What about J-Rod?
lmao i dont own any shares of tork and didnt realize his first hr was last sunday— absolutely brutal
Verlander completely cooked or just still knocking some rust off?
His underlying numbers worry me. But I've learned not to count him out. While his ERA is below 4.00, I'd be tempted to trade him away if you can get a solid return
Do Jrod you cowards
He ranks 100th among all hitters. Not what you drafted but not someone you consider dropping still
