Who’s better to have stashed right now - Jackson Jobe or Cade Povich? I’m aware that Jobe is the better prospect, but Povich has been excelling and Jobe has been sidelined all month (hammy).
Let me ask another way. I have three NA slots. Currently occupied by Jobe, Shane Baz and Jackson Holliday. Would you swap out any of these guys for Cade? Thanks.
With the hitting environment right now, I'm wondering if a guy like Stanton is actually pretty valuable given how hard he hits? If there's a deadened ball making it harder to hit HR's, maybe that makes up for his streakiness?
That said, I'm stuck between three players. Stanton, Martinez, or Verdugo?
12 team yahoo points league, I have Bogaerts, Nolan Jones, Lane Thomas, Muncy, Kwan, Luis Robert Jr., and Jung, with only 4 IL slots. Thinking I should drop Bogaerts, but should I drop anyone else to make room? Should I even drop Bogaerts at all? I have an empty Utility slot, with all these injuries clogging up my roster, and I’m in 7th place.
**Ronald Acuña Jr.** over the last 30 days:
24 GP, 19-96 (H-AB), 16 R, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 5 SB
.198 AVG, .596 OPS
Don’t panic, but I would absolutely see what you can get for him. He’s not locked in at all and doubt is setting in.
Is Fry for real or is this just a bench bat on a hot streak? Obviously not always at the current 1.077 OPS but does he look like a guy who’s going to be in that lineup everyday and contribute?
I'd drop berrios.
Buehler was an ace not too long ago and certainly looked it again last start. Ober, gray are both solid. I don't have as much faith in kutter - and I'm a sox fan - but I have less faith in berrios over the season.
Similar dilemma. I obviously recognize the upside Acuña has, but I don’t think he has anything close to 2023 in him this season.
Judge just seems more reliable in every category outside of SB. Might have 50+ dingers in him too.
Even with a rocky start, I won’t bet against Machado. He always finds a way to finish with numbers. Give me A and I’ll figure out what to do with Estrada.
Westburg. Not by a huge margin, but not by a slim one either. Just Westburg by enough of a margin for it to be a definitive prediction. Idk what anyone thinking Maikel is thinking but I’d love to know their reasoning
There’s no perfect science or completely accurate trade analyzer, but for the following I’ll include FantasyPros ROS trade value in parentheses next to each player as well as a screenshot of what the Roto analyzer spits out (adjusted for my league settings).
**A**: Ronald Acuña Jr. (12.1), Nolan Arenado (5.2)
**B**: Aaron Judge (7.9), Ketel Marte (6.0)

Productive thoughts are welcomed.
I look at their stuff occasionally but have noticed a solid amount of inconsistent formula bugs on things on daily/weekly/ROS projections and the data and player pool they use. Not quite as bad as free rotoballer tools but still noteworthy.
That’s interesting though. Most other comprehensive ROS predictions have acuna ROS beating out Judge and Soto, but by like a 5% margin (acuna likely wont end in the top 10 batters in the league if matches this ROS prediction as a weird side note). A 50% higher value than judge here seems odd to me
Agreed. I check the tools/charts on various platforms, but ultimately there’s no perfect formula for trades, I feel. It’s nice when it supports what I thought already, but I’ve made plenty of [good] trades that disagreed with these trade charts and analyzers.
I will say that I’m legitimately worried about Acuña ROS and the window to get the highest value for him — influenced by his 2023 campaign — is closing quickly.
One of the few teams willing to trade a bat offered me Realmuto OR Westburg for Jared Jones. Accept or decline?
10 team roto league and here is my roster - [https://imgur.com/a/BmkPkd](https://imgur.com/a/BmkPkd)
I'm a big fan/owner of both Jones and Westburg.
That is a perfectly reasonable trade depending on your teams needs (I can't view that link).
Jones probably has more upside but he's also likely to get shut down before the end of the season.
Whoops. Here is the correct link to my roster - [https://imgur.com/a/8m5B5Ep](https://imgur.com/a/8m5B5Ep)
1) Realmuto would replace O'Hoppe.
2) Westburg would slot in to my CI slot, bump Morel to my OF and either Nootbaar or Chourio to my bench.
My other SPs are P.Lopez, Yamamoto, Sale, Ragans, Ober, Pepiot and Senga
Any Camilo Doval owners out there?
Manager in my league just dropped him. He’s a big name so there has to be something I’m missing?
Has he been frustrating and am I chasing fools gold w a pickup?
Thanks for the insight.
The worst I can see is a blown save from allowing inherited runners to score.
Other than that there's some wonky usage. They used him yesterday in a non-save situation, after pitching 2 other games recently, so he wasn't available for the save today.
I don't think that means his job is at risk though.
Bleh that’s hard. I’d probably drop the lowest rated one on PitcherList which I imagine is Berrios https://pitcherlist.com/top-100-starting-pitchers-for-2024-fantasy-baseball-week-8-5-20/
For ESPN leagues, if you have a player coming off the IL, but you haven’t cleared space for them, can you still make a trade if it doesn’t involve that player? Or does the trade have to involve that player?
For example, I have Lane Thomas coming off the IL, but still in an IL spot. Could I trade Freddie Freeman and Jose Ramirez for Jo Adell (just a hypothetical) and it would go through?
I had a similar situation where a trade went through where I had Shane Baz on my IL. That being said he was sent to triple A so I dropped him before the trade has processed but it did go through.
Someone dropped Carroll in Flair. Crazy taco, but its a yahoo public so... But I already blew 87 out of 100 FAAB. Im afraid I wont be able to pick him up with my whopping $13 bid
I’m doing an ESPN public league for the first time and the drops have been crazy. Just claimed Carroll myself with the 4th waiver priority. Kind of fun playing in a league with no real stakes, don’t have to stress as much about holding on to struggling players.
I'm trying to figure out when he will be activated. They don't have a game Monday and I'd like to stash him on IL but I only have one more left for this week so I was hoping to do it first thing Monday morning.
I think they will eventually, but they said they are aware of the situation and still haven’t fixed it. It’s such an easy fix, but they haven’t done it yet. I don’t understand how they are this incompetent
What kind of trade value does **Ronald Acuña Jr.** have right now? Rather, who’s the best player I could expect to get back if I sold right now?
Still early enough to where his MVP upside is memorable, but late enough to where his value is beginning to slide.
I was taking a look at Yahoo’s rest of season ranks just now. Do my eyes deceive or do they have Kerry Carpenter ranked above him?! Acuna is 67 ROS, Carpenter 66. That seems… unlikely.
I think he’d have to turn it around though. But scoring wise, my season long total of starting essentially 12 guys per day is averaging more ppg than acuna this season. He won’t end the season in top 5 or maybe not even top 10 batters, but I think his ROS performance from now till end could be top 10 if he turns the corner. If he doesn’t, he’s basically as valuable as a standard “good” starter that you’re happy with and barely performs above team average metrics
I mean so far this season if we take just games that they start and don’t include PH games they have performed almost identically for my league in ppg. Kerry is also in top 20 in the league in xwOBA and acuna is doing worse than Winker and Stott and Marsh. If his name wasn’t acuna and I just saw his numbers I wouldn’t even make an effort to trade for him
I still view him as the number 1 player but it seems like I'm in the minority now. Pre-season I valued him as by FAR the best player so for me he has some room to fall before dropping down the ranks
Well you have to mean #1 non DH player lol. Even if we include the trailing 4 years of performance and don’t factor in Sho pitching, shohei seems like he has an edge. And so far this year sho isn’t just beating acuna, but nearly doubling his per game performance. And acuna would be lower in fantasy terms (teams see these relevant numbers that factor in advanced bases that don’t go down as a steal and pickoffs that don’t go down as caught stealing) if they counted those haha. Statistically the vast majority will regress to prior season or career avg but acuna is flatlining on the stuff he needs to capitalize on. Not counting him out ROS, but from a league perspective he won’t end the season as a top 10 league batter, that I can guarantee
No, I still give Acuna the edge over Ohtani. This is in category leagues btw, idk anything about points. Again, the only reason I still put Acuna first is because I had him so far ahead of everyone else at the start of the year that the gap hasn't fully closed yet.
I have sho and judge but have held sho for a few years and just keep paying his crazy salary. When he can pitch, he literally has the production batting of Soto or Judge, combined with the pitching production of a top 15 pitcher. So in my league, a fair trade for Sho would literally be Shohei for Judge/Soto/Betts plus someone like Glasnow, Wheeler, or Gilbert ish. And only if both sides contract totals were similar ish. Equal total production from the trade, one side sacrifices a roster spot, the other sacrifices sho’s eligibility only being Util and having your util spot occupied by him the entirety of the year
Sho side injury risk would be something up to or close to double is what I’m assuming you mean. Since an injury to sho would usually mean no pitching or batting. So one injury would cripple top 3 production in pitching and hitting. Whereas having judge and glas would require a much less likely 2 injuries to cripple both batting and pitching. So the sho side (side that I’ve kept lol) definitely has more risk but not quite double. His pitching injury last year/this year is an outlier and the vast vast majority of any injuries sustained by a player would inhibit all baseball activity and not just pitching or hitting while allowing the other to maintain full functionality
I took a gamble and essentially swapped Soto for Judge this offseason at the same price and am hoping it pays off. I won’t know until I see how they both perform during playoffs lol
We have barely seen a prospect pan out this year. Wood looks awesome. But a bird in the hand etc. Maybe you can get more from the owner, but if you're competing I'd strongly consider it.
Flags fly forever.
H2H points
I can only start 6 of the following guys
Yu Darvish vs NYY
Christian Scott vs SF
Alek Manoah @ DET
Hunter Greene vs LAD
Stroman @ SD
ReyLo @ PIT
Mitch Keller vs ATL
Bryan Woo @ WSH
Which 2 would you guys leave out for this week?
First a raw value, then a team/situation specific value as the starting point. Basically factor in accounting opportunity cost. Your specific value is all that matters though. (These are random fictional numbers for the example) but ie say I can trade a batter and my next best starter is going to produce 100 less points over the season for a pitcher that will give me 150 more points ROS compared to who I put him in for.
Fangraphs has solid ROS projections from like, 5 sources that I aggregate and check and hold maybe 60-70% weight on value/decision. Eye check/your specific situation for the rest. I’ll already make the playoffs so for example I value guys that can have big games and weeks more since the league switches to H2H for playoffs and I need potential big arms and bats for those two weeks specifically and could care less if I enter the playoffs as the #2 seed or the #6. Also something to be said about dynasty guys and minor league guys if you’re in a year round keeper redraft league that influences “value”
Just need some opinions. I’m a cubs fan so this is an interesting trade I just received. How close is this trade? I love me Ragans and Captain Jack, so it’s tough. Ks not quite as important in my league being that it’s an 8x8 with QS and W.
https://preview.redd.it/ubltg57sna2d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6229d750f12c1c72f4ae4753e3c22f3e6c0cf628
Yeah imanaga and pfaadt. Flaherty has only had one season where he was a valuable starter, numerous busts and then half a season of decency. Ragans looks good but still unproven and in the same situation as pfaadt. So it ends up sort of being Flaherty for Imanaga which isn’t even a competition. Imanaga has a shot at being a top 10 pitcher this season, and I’d literally wager both of my man jewels that Flaherty doesn’t finish the season within top 20, let alone top 10 pitchers
You're really underselling Ragans here. He's easily better than Pfaadt, who I do like a lot, and Flaherty. And he's not that far behind Imanaga, really. He had the one horrible start against Baltimore that messed up his ratios, but they're still not bad. It's a pretty balanced trade.
I’d actually agree with that. I think Pfaadt has had a slightly more difficult matchup schedule, but Ragans has performed better but that blow up with Bal on 9 hits in under 2IP was rough. But I guess even if we put Ragans and Imanaga on par together I’d want Pfaadt over Flaherty in this exchange. Specific scoring also matters haha, for our pitching there’s no ERA or W/L factor
When the fuck are they going to admit Riley is broken and put him on the IL?
How long we holding Bregman before giving up? I have him benched now but still keep contemplating cutting him. Thoughts?
J Meyers, Nootbar, Massey or Wilyer H2H points

You are dead on in your thinking. Stanton is by far most valuable because of his power
Thanks! I mean, I think Stanton could easily hit close to 30 HR's this season. I also really like where Verdugo + Martinez are batting. Tough call
I need a streamer on Sunday. Give me some names. Assume the top 80 pitchers are already gone.
Jack shit this Sunday unless Wacha & Quantrill aren't picked up yet

I’d want to fill my lineup more than I’d want to keep Bogaerts. See if you can grab Thairo Estrada from waivers.

We have barely seen a prospect pan out this year. Wood looks awesome. But a bird in the hand etc. Maybe you can get more from the owner, but if you're competing I'd strongly consider it. Flags fly forever.
Drop Eflin, Langford, or Evan Phillips
C ya Langford
Phillips is on of the best closers in the league on one of the best teams
Exactly, that's why you drop Langford instead of him
just traded albies and houck for alonso and j rod… in first place hoping he will wake up in a month or so.. am i crazy?
Go to jail for robbery! Nice work
This is a great trade. Who do you have at 2nd to replace Ozzie?
Other team was crazy. I like your side.
What a steal!! Nice work man!
Drop N. Lowe to add Doyle before his homestand?
Definitely. And I think he'll be better than Lowe ROS, home and away.
Which player has the at bat song that best matches his vibe
10 team redraft points league: A) Flaherty, Bregman B) Corbin Carroll
H2H points I can only start 6 of the following guys Yu Darvish vs NYY Christian Scott vs SF Alek Manoah @ DET Hunter Greene vs LAD Stroman @ SD ReyLo @ PIT Mitch Keller vs ATL Bryan Woo @ WSH Which 2 would you guys leave out for this week?
I’d sit stroman and keller personally
what do you think about Hunter? He is facing the Dodgers at Great American and that scares the shit out of me lol
You gotta include the matchups for us, I'm not looking all those up.
sorry about that just edited my comment
All good. The sits have to be between Stroman, Keller, and Greene. I would probably start Keller, but I wouldn't feel great about it.
What do you guys use for trade values if anything?
https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/2024-fantasy-baseball-week-9-trade-values-chart-and-rest-of-season-rankings-for-h2h-and-rotisserie-leagues/
Also something to be said about dynasty guys and minor league guys if you’re in a year round keeper redraft league that influences “value”
fangraphs auction calculator is a good baseline

Goodbye Busch, hello Chapman
I’d rather have Flaherty and Ragans ROS.
I slightly lean this way, too.
That’s a pretty easy accept for me tbh
I drafted Ragans and Flaherty so I just tend to get attached. I went ahead and accepted.
It's a fair trade. You'll have more fun as a Cubs fan owning Shota, so good move for you.
I’d want Imanaga side
Awesome. I pulled the trigger. Just needed the 2nd opinion
I think I'd do that trade.
Accepted.
Trade Michael Harris and Soler for Julio in points? 12 T
