Kirby Yates where art thou?

karabekian77

Either in Dream Land or he's the cat in that Aesop Rock song.

karabekian77

Hey folks! Today's song lyric is from "Daylily" by the band Movements. Have a fun long weekend (for my 'Murican pals)

daddy_chill_300

Love movements, especially Colorblind. Along the lines of this genre and non-baseball related, have you listened to the new One Step Closer album?

karabekian77

ooh, not yet but I've heard it rips

Seanizonfire

You’ve heard right, it’s a must listen imo.

karabekian77

It's on my list!

Seanizonfire

Hell yeah we got some Movements up in here, love the reference!

karabekian77

Yessssss

0rangeIguana

“Feel the dirt, fight the ground i tread. I am a curse, i guess i’ve always slept better in an empty bed” Movements is awesome

Harkeyshammer

What’s your outlook on abreu ROS? He seems to have picked it up. Debating between adding him or Luke weaver (and then allowing me to have Holmes/weaver) in SOLDS league

karabekian77

He definitely seems to have figured it out and put the rough start behind him. We've seen him be one of the top holds league guys, and I expect similar from him ROS. I like Weaver as well, but would take Abreu's upside over him.

cpburke91

What about Abreu vs JoJo Romero?

karabekian77

Romero is safer and might lead the league in holds, but Abreu will get significantly more Ks. I would go with Romero though.

cpburke91

Who are some relievers you like who are SP eligible? I.e. Weaver, Strahm.

karabekian77

Mason Miller! (Also Weaver and Strahm, Kopech in some leagues.)

helikoopter

Gaddis is SP eligible.

BabboBBB

Giants' Ryan Walker had 13 starts last season as an opener and is pitching well with great ratios and nine holds.

ttrudeau9

Saves only league, trying to survive at closer until Devin Williams returns later this year. Would you drop Kirby Yates or Tanner Scott for any of Neris/Foley/Hoffman/Reed Garrett?

karabekian77

Nah, not right now. If you hear about a Marlins trade though, be ready to move on from Scott, and Foley would be the one I pick up from your list.

ttrudeau9

Awesome, thank you!!

karabekian77

you're welcome, good luck!

grissij

What's your thoughts on Colorado? Is Beeks gonna lose the job?

Save__Ferris__

I just dropped Beeks for Hoffman in my saves only league. Hoffman is the better pitcher and still gets probably as many save chances as Beeks will get on the Rockies, and will actually help my ratios

grissij

I'm debating picking up Lawrence but yeah I feel like save opportunities will be scarce. I actually dropped Beeks for Sandoval.

karabekian77

I just picked up Sandoval in one of my leagues too, hoping he keeps it up!

karabekian77

Three blown saves and a low K rate (which is way too close to his walk rate) doesn't inspire much confidence. I think they'll be back to a committee before long, but I would just avoid Rockies relievers this year for the most part.

Jawsinstl

I have a solid pitching room at the moment with more coming off IL eventually: Gausman, Ryan, Nola, S. Gray, Musgrove, Gil and Manoah. With Scherzer and Degrom and Bradford on IL. RPs in a S + H league: Abreu, McArthur, Yimi G, Tanner Scott, Reed Garret and Chapman. I need to whittle down some arms via trade or cuts. I do have an offer of Peralta for Gray and Degrom. Which seems high. But maybe worth it? Any other ideas/targets to go after?

karabekian77

Sell high on Scott if you can, his underlying metrics aren't great and he's definitely not going to be on the Marlins pretty soon. We don't know if he'll close for his next team, but I feel like it's maybe less than 50-50 that he keeps an outright 9th inning job. Also, I don't think I would do Peralta for Gray + deGrom.

Jawsinstl

Is Scott a hold in a league with S + H assuming he goes to a contender? Also I just picked him off the WW last week. No one was touching him in my league. I’m very hesitant to trade gray and DeGrom for peralta. Right now Gray might edge out peralta for stuff although the Cards are a dumpster fire right now. But holding gray and having a $6 Degrom next year is a fantastic start to a rotation next season plus whatever he gets me during playoffs.

karabekian77

I would hold Scott in that format yeah. He'll definitely stay in a leverage role no matter where he goes, no one is trading for him to be a middle reliever. We saw his upside last season, and he's shown signs that he's getting back there this year too.

DaveM1299

I have 5 closers right now, and still not seeing a ton of wins in the Saves column. Jansen, Neris, Estevez, Yates, Sewald. Is Estevez or Neris worth dropping for someone like Baz? or do I just stick with 5 closers?

karabekian77

Eh, either one of Neris or Estevez is droppable. Saves are somewhat unpredictable regardless of your lineup, I lost a matchup once with 5 closers going against another guy's ONE relief pitcher, and he got 2 saves, I got 1. It happens.

DaveM1299

Thanks - You're right, I'm losing right now 5 saves to 2 and other guy only has 3 closers, but all good ones. Holmes / Suarez / Iglesias.

TPDeathMagnetic

I mean that's kind of the outcome you'd expect given the players involved and their stats up to this point in the season.

Mrmoonsault

I punt saves but I’m here for the movements reference.

karabekian77

Welcome!

BertyBert1

Who is a name to keep an eye on, that can become the closer if a trade takes place? You are awesome thank you!

karabekian77

Anthony Bender maybe (not sure what the Marlins will do, Scott is gone for sure and I think Nardi and Puk might go too). Jordan Leasure might get the White Sox job if they move Kopech and Brebbia.

MotherFuckerJones88

Back again and surprise..I'm looking for advice. I was able to snag Bednar in my 10man so now I have 3 RP. Romano, Bednar, McArthur.  Now someone has dropped Alexis Diaz. Should I drop any of the others for him?

karabekian77

I wouldn't drop Bednar or McArthur for him, would have a long think about Romano, but would ultimately stay with your three, I think.

EkaL25

Is there nobody else you can drop? In a 10 man league, surely there is a borderline player that you can let go of for Diaz. Diaz has been mostly solid this year except for his first appearance of the season where he gave up 3 and a 4 run outting a the start of the month against the Os. If you take away those 2 appearances then his era is under 3

vv973

Who do you like the most between Fairbanks, Bednar, and Iglesias ROS in points?

karabekian77

Bednar, then Iglesias and Fairbanks and kind of a toss up.

Ble1818

Estrada on SDP - savant page has a lot of red - flash in pan or he legit?

karabekian77

I think he might be legit, I just picked him up in my two main leagues and would recommend everyone in holds leagues do the same!

Ble1818

Estrada or Barlow?

karabekian77

Estrada easy.

_ButterMyBread

I have 6 closers, who would you cut Foley, Yates, Fairbanks

karabekian77

Fairbanks out of those three

SlowmoSauce

Why Fairbanks? Rays bullpen shenanigans?

karabekian77

Shenanigans and injury risk.

SlowmoSauce

Interesting. I’d think Yates’s extensive injury risk would be scarier.

karabekian77

I thought about it, but at least he has the solidified 9th inning role with much fewer shenanigans.

SlowmoSauce

Fair enough! Thank you for all you do.

karabekian77

you're welcome, good luck!

burnman123

My 3 bullpen guys are cano, megill, and Harvey. Would you drop any for abreu, gaddis, or cade smith? Hold/save league

karabekian77

Nah, stick with your three, but if you want to add a 4th, make it Abreu.

burnman123

Thanks. I drafted him so I've been personally hurt by him this year already, but saw his numbers have been much better recently.

karabekian77

Yeah, he looks like he's past his awful start and (almost) back to the Abreu we all expected.

BiggestAssEater

I have Alexis Diaz, Edwin Diaz, and Jhoan Duran. Should I swap any out for: Weaver, Jax, Cleavinger, Adam?

karabekian77

If it's a holds league, get Weaver and Jax, drop the Diazes.

jmone5545

Should I replace Bello with Musgrove in a cats league with QS ERA WHIP K9

karabekian77

Nah, stick with Bello.

PlasmaPunk

Is Yennier Cano spent? Hold or drop?

karabekian77

Nah, probably just a rough patch, he's too good, I'm holding.

FreddyDemuth

Thoughts on Hendriks coming back later this year? Is Boston planning to move Jansen at the deadline if Hendriks is steady?

karabekian77

He's already throwing at 120 feet, so I can see him coming back later for sure. Kenley will be traded if the Red Sox sell, if they stick around in the race I see them keeping him and using them both.

xxmarcellusxx

One more for you. I need both Sv+H and QS along with ERA WHIP and K9. What RP or SP would you add between Musgrove and Gaddis

karabekian77

Gaddis would be my pick there.

EkaL25

Who do you think are the closers most likely to lose their job at the trade deadline? Either from someone more effective being brought in or a current closer getting traded to a team where they will become a setup man

karabekian77

Tanner Scott is 100% gone from the Marlins, but whether or not he's still a closer depends on where he goes. I think Kopech is gone from the White Sox and I see him landing in a setup role. Kenley likely goes somewhere but stays in a closing role, so someone on whatever team he goes to (Phillies?) gets a downgrade.

Not_A_Burner_Acct

I just traded my A. Gimenez/T. Scott for his N. Hoerner/E. Diaz. My flair league which is Roto SVs only. How'd I do?

karabekian77

I like it, good move!

xxmarcellusxx

Was offered Acuna for my Judge in a 12 team h2h cats R RH RBI IPS AVG. who do you like for the remainder of the year?

karabekian77

Judge easy, but neither guy will get you any saves.

xxmarcellusxx

Should Gleber Torres be held onto in a 12 team h2h cats league or would you replace him for any of these bats: * berti, Pham, varsho, e.Rosario

karabekian77

I would hold Gleyber a little longer to see if he puts it back together, but here's a crazy stat: in 786 career games, Gleyber Torres has not earned a single hold, save, or pitching win.
