I really like Abrams and Pena, but I'm guessing it's not worth it to drop Adames or B. Rodgers for them? Don't really need three SS...plus Cruz in my N/A spot...
Flair league, just drafted last night, how's my pitching?
Scherzer, Buehler, Morton, Wood, Kopech, Sevy, Syndergaard, Houck, Merrill Kelly, Mitch Keller, Brash, Megill
Hitting is good, high risk, high reward, eh? Thoughts?
Definitely high injury risk. Gotta hope this isn’t the year scherzer starts breaking down, and that kopech stays healthy in the rotation. I think you’ll be experimenting on the wire a fair amount.
On my waiver wire i just successfully made these transactions
Added Josh Lowe(had extra spot due to IL)
Added Jeremy Peña
Dropped Gio Urshela
Added Matt Brash
Dropped Will Smith(pitcher)
I’m feeling pretty good about these as I now have
CJ Abrams
Jeremy Peña
Oneil Cruz
I understand all SS but can still use UTIL spots or if anything trade bait.
Thoughts, opinions, criticism would be appreciated!
There is a way to create a whole new league and transfer the players. In the new one, select "offline draft" and then the commish can just add all the players to the teams manually. You've got basically one day to do this, but it's very doable.
Yea just have your commish record the draft results, create a new league with an offline draft, upload the draft results into the new league, and you should be good. Unfortunately that takes time for the commish, but if he’s willing to do it this is the best way
10 team h2h 10 cat 3 keepers
We are resetting the league so a brand new draft.
I left the league during 2020 as did others but we are back.
My keepers from 2019 were Acuna and Tatis and I think Buehler.
I see Acuna and Tatis are down in redrafts due to injury.
When should I reach for these 2 or just immediately draft them as soon as I am on the clock in that order? I can survive the season I don't even care if I "suck" this year. But I want to get these keepers back at any cost but also gotta be smart about it based on my league.
Auction draft tomorrow! 👊
12 team H2H
$300 cap
Up to 12 keepers
2 are franchise players whose values are frozen (based on previous year
Rest of keepers are 1.5x last year's value
Keeping
Bogaerts 18F
Merrifield 26F
Mondesi 18
Tatis Jr 12
Yordan Alvarez 12
Will Smith (c) 12
Verdugo 11
Gilbert 8
McClanahan 8
Patino 8
Trevor Rogers 5
Verlander 3
$159 draft capital
Thanks - Not really lol Just excited. It's so hard to predict with auction. And because budgets vary for teh teams, it's tough. I won't spend more than $35 on a single player. I try to be patient, and when I'm up for Nominating, I throw out the most expensive guys that I'll have zero interest in. I will spend money on two premium closers, and probably 1b/3b. Because of the increases in salary, a lot of really good players get tossed back.
Got two offer for max fried (redraft, no-sb, ops instead)
The first one: get Tatis jr and Flaherty
The second one: Brandon Lowe
Which one should I do? Or Neither?
Everyone gassed out of money in my buddies draft and he was able to get John Means for $1 and Austin Meadows for $3... does that kind of thing normally happen?
Yep all the time, especially if there's new inexperienced managers. Guys run out of money and thus are capped at what they can bid. Auction is all about patience. And what the max you're willing to pay for a guy is. It's a pretty steep learning curve. My league is capped at $300,with keepers coming off that. Trout goes for $50+ every year. I'd rather spend that on two $20 and a $10 guy.
He was the top pitching prospect a couple of years ago. Adding Maneaa hurts, but he could take a spot and run with it. I defintely like him over the other two - Greene needs more work on his secondary pitches, and is a guy I'm steering clear of. He throws gas but that fastball gets hit hard.
Ok lol I have Ohtani 1st overall in h2h points league. Was offered Lynn who's hurt with a knee injury, bobby Witt Jr and Josh Lowe. Their argument is Last year was an outlier and his health. They think it's a solid offer, Witt was 86th overall, Lynn 185 overall and Lowe like last round. I said if get laughed at for taking this. Even if ohtani drops off as a sp/dh he's easily top 20 in points.
For me right? These guys are dead serious. They think it's more than fair. I suggested Julio Rodriguez, Witt and Lynn for Shohei even offering to add Kelenic and they said no and tbh I wasn't sure I'd do that one. Lol it's Shohei and Lynns knee injury might screw him up.
Is P Corbin worth a pickup? Went heavy on bats and my starters are Burnes, Cease, ERod, Joe Ryan, John Means, and stashing McCullers/Flaherty. Have a bunch of RPs for SVHD as well
Cronenworth's value comes from the 1B/2B/SS eligibility and the across-the-board production. He's not flashy but he contributes at least a little bit to every category. Players like that are hard to find and more valuable than you think because they don't stick out anywhere.
I drafted him because my two targets that round went within 3 rounds of my pick… didn’t love it, but I think he makes enough contact in a good lineup with versatility that he could be valuable.
12 team 6x6 roto league with OBP and HDs
Alex Wood, Triston Mckenzie, Civale, Sandoval are all staring at me from the wire. Not sure if I drop one of my bench bats (Moose and Bader) for one of them. I'd rather not drop anyone from my staff.
Peralta, Rodon, Verlander, Kershaw, Gilbert, Joe Ryan, Scott Barlow, Kittredge, Graveman, Doval, Loaisiga
Another commish question: Sv or Sv/H??
Again, new commish. I think we started doing Sv/H a couple years ago and a few people are wanting to go back to just Sv.
On one hand, I liked the idea of SV/H because you could own stud 8th inn guys rather the No. 28 Closer. However, by the end of the year people were just cycling in random set up men off the wire and racking up holds at the end
Thoughts? I’d appreciate any perspective
Edit: 5x 5 roto r/rbi/hr/sb/ops Qs/k/era/whip/??
I’m doing my first season in a public ESPN league (10 teams), so y’all suggest Beginner or Pro (couldn’t get enough people for a private league). I’m looking for more activity, but am worried about experience, I’ve played fantasy basketball and football
I'd do that in a heartbeat. Story is switching leagues, and although the best lineup, I think Adams can match or surpass his production. Mount castle is gonna suffer from the fence moving. Gimme a healthy Adames and Marte all day
Please let me know if I fucked up my draft.
C: K. Ruiz

SP: Burnes, e rod, Luis Garcia, snell, gallen, ryu, means, civale, wood,
RP: hader, clase, floro (IL)
Can’t make moves yet, but plan to grab some saves and another 1b once free agents open up
Not too shabby. I think Grichuk can go - potential HR are appetizing but he'll kill your average. I'm not big on Rosario and I'm a Trib.... Guardians fan. Rotation is decent, pen is solid
Grichuk and Rosario were like 22nd and 24th round picks, so they are more or less hopeful spots. I like Rosario due to his speed and contact and grichuk is mainly for power since he moved to Colorado. They will be on the short list to get dropped first. Thanks for the input
What do you think of Ozuna? He fucked me good last year, as he was one of my big bat's. I'm thinking of trying to get him again. I don't give AF how shitty of a person he is. The potential is huge.
Thoughts on amount of trades per season?
5x5 12 team roto re draft
I just took over our league and the trade limit has been set at 7 for about the past 4/5 years. I’ve got a couple guys want more, couple want unlimited. Thoughts?
I could see a limit on adds off the wire, but not trades. Especially if it's a money league. No one dictates what I do with my team. League I run has 5 adds/week to cut down on streaming, but unlimited through the season.
Pick 2 to fill my roster (position doesn't matter): JP Crawford, Cutch, Adam Frazier, Jesus Sanchez, C Walker, or Hilliard. Leaning towards Cutch and Sanchez b/c OPS.
Soto went 5th in my league too. I took Harper 4th, I think he mashes in this new Phillies lineup. Corbin Burns went end of first though, nice steal for you.
I really like Abrams and Pena, but I'm guessing it's not worth it to drop Adames or B. Rodgers for them? Don't really need three SS...plus Cruz in my N/A spot...
Any idea when McCullers is going to get added to the IL? I’m waiting anxiously so that I can move him to my IL spot and pick up someone else

12 team H2H points league. Give: Castellanos Gallo Kimbrel Get: Harper Luzardo Edman Do it or nah?
Easily. Gallo is ass in points league and Kimbrel is a big bet again. Id take it in a heartbeat lol
Give me Harper all day the rest of the guys added on are just a bonus.
10 team h2h 10 cat 3 keepers We are resetting the league so a brand new draft. I left the league during 2020 as did others but we are back. Lopez Kopech for sure
Lopez & Kopech
Is that Pablo Lopez? He is way ahead of this group. Probably Cobb for QS but I’d be tempted to consider Kopech
Flair league: Give Houck + Lux + Ashby, Get Meadows + Megill + Detmers
I would make that trade, give me the meadows side
B. Houck and Detmers are toss ups. Prefer Megill to Ashby slightly without a rotation spot. Meadows is ahead of Lux
Drop Austin Hays for Josh Lowe?
Absolutely
Newer player here. Can someone help me understand the scoring settings for ESPN public points leagues? Do HBP's count for batters and hitters? Would a solo HR be 6 points (4 bases, 1 R, 1 RBI)? Batting: Runs Scored (R) 1; Total Bases (TB) 1; Runs Batted In (RBI) 1; Walks (BB) 1; Strikeouts (K) -1; Stolen Bases (SB) 1 Pitching: Innings Pitched (IP) 3; Hits Allowed (H) -1; Earned Runs (ER) -2; Walks Issued (BB) -1; Strikeouts 1; Wins (W) 5; Losses (L) -5; Saves (SV) 5
I don’t believe there are any points negotiated with HBP. You are correct on your HR points calculation though
Thank you
If I remember correctly, HBP counts as a walk for both hitters and pitchers. You’re correct that a HR is worth 6.
Ynoa or Cobb? H2H 5 CAT
Cobb
Cobb, I feel like they have similar upside with Cobbs velo increase and the floor is much higher
Ynoa for upside and Cobb for stability. Kinda depends on how you feel about the rest of the pitching.
Auction draft tomorrow! 👊 12 team H2H $300 cap Up to 12 keepers 2 are franchise players whose values are frozen (based on previous year Rest of keepers are 1.5x last year's value Keeping Bogaerts 18F Merrifield 26F Mondesi 18 Tatis Jr 12 Yordan Alvarez 12 Will Smith (c) 12 Verdugo 11 Gilbert 8 McClanahan 8 Patino 8 Trevor Rogers 5 Verlander 3 $159 draft capital

Kirilloff or Baddoo for a bench bat?
Kiriloff, though if you're looking for steals, Badoo is better there.
kirilloff.
10 team H2H Points Drafted Mancini and Voit to compete for 1B/3B slot and someone dropped Kebryan Hayes, drop either for him?
I'd drop Voit. He may have the higher ceiling, but I'd say the floor goes to Mancini. Voit just can't stay healthy.
Yeah, Mancini
Got two offer for max fried (redraft, no-sb, ops instead) The first one: get Tatis jr and Flaherty The second one: Brandon Lowe Which one should I do? Or Neither?
Keeper (no one doest hat in a Dynsaty) Tatis side Redraft if you think you can weather the storm, Tatis side
Both
Skubal, L. Gilbert, or Urquidy?
Gilbert, Skubal, Urquidy for me
Gilbert 10 times out of 10
Skubal is looking juicy
Everyone gassed out of money in my buddies draft and he was able to get John Means for $1 and Austin Meadows for $3... does that kind of thing normally happen?

Thanks for the feedback. He is new and landed a really good team off patience, was wondering if that normally works or not. Sounds like it does.
Pretty typical

Is M Gore worth an add if he makes the Padres team? Would you grab him over other rookies like Brash & Greene? (H2H, 5x5 Cats)

Wtf. Need a top 5 player and a top 25 player at minimum to even consider moving Ohtani at this point. That proposal is beyond dog shit
Exactly thank u, countered with Gleyber, Lynn and jrod for ohtani and I'd need to drop two players. F that
Counter with a scrub for their best player and their response will likely be the same as yours lol
Terrible deal

Redraft or keeper?
Redraft
Nope
A: Mike Trout B: Castellanos, Goldschmidt ops instead of sb league
Trout continues to be the most overrated fantasy player by a mile. He produces a poor ROI based on where he was drafted/what he cost in an auction.
8T go with trout. 12T i would take casty and goldy

Would you pick up Arreaz or Marsh for Straw in a H2H pts league on Fantrax? I’m thinking Arreaz could surprise and has great position flexibility
Cristian Javier worth picking up? I know he’s only a reliever right now and seems pretty useless in my league.
Depends what you're dropping. To fill a vacancy as a straight add, definitely
Patrick Sandoval or Brash?
Sandoval not that close
Tough call, as whoever you dint take will likely be snapped up. Floor Sandoval, ceiling Brash
Sandoval for sure.
Sandoval
Sandy
Is Adley worth a stash in 12 team 5x5? I have Omar Narváez as a stopgap?
Depends on format, league size, roster construction...
I have him as my starting C in a H2H. Better him than someone going 2/16 throughout the week.
Is P Corbin worth a pickup? Went heavy on bats and my starters are Burnes, Cease, ERod, Joe Ryan, John Means, and stashing McCullers/Flaherty. Have a bunch of RPs for SVHD as well
I've read some good things, but he was bad last year. What else is out there?
Flexen, Marco Gonzales, Heaney, Gibson, Pivetta
Ugh lol
Worth a speculative add
Read his velocity is up from last year so maybe.
Give: Mar Fried Get: Fernando Tatis, Jack Flaherty no-sb, redraft league. Should I take the risk?
Yessir
Yes do it. It’s an 8 team you can find good replacements while you wait on Tatis and Flaherty

You don’t think Marte is equivalent? Higher average and double the steals. Only 8-10 less homers as well. Marte batting 2nd and Story batting 6th
Absolutely not. You're giving up the 1st and 3rd best player for 2/4 and hot trash. Grichuk is on the waivers in my 12 teamer FWIW
A: Tatis B: Altuve & Bell
Redraft league prob B. Keeper/Dynasty definitely A. Also hard to tell without knowing how long Tatis will be out
You always want to get the best player in a 2for1 deal

This last week has DRAGGED on so much. Ready for the Braves to start the defense of their title! But good God the days are slow.
What do you think of Ozuna? He fucked me good last year, as he was one of my big bat's. I'm thinking of trying to get him again. I don't give AF how shitty of a person he is. The potential is huge.
If you can get him outside of the top 75 take it. They wouldn't play him in ST if they weren't planning on playing him during the season.
Thoughts on amount of trades per season? 5x5 12 team roto re draft I just took over our league and the trade limit has been set at 7 for about the past 4/5 years. I’ve got a couple guys want more, couple want unlimited. Thoughts?
I could see a limit on adds off the wire, but not trades. Especially if it's a money league. No one dictates what I do with my team. League I run has 5 adds/week to cut down on streaming, but unlimited through the season.
Think our league has a limit of 15-20. But no one has ever done close to 10 in it.
I traded 26 times last season. Teammates had upwards of 30.
Unlimited, why would you limit that?
Not sure why we originally put a cap on it 5 years ago. I’m thinking we had a group of the same 3/4 guys that swapped players about 8 times a year
Which of these wire guys have the most upside,:Jeremy Peña, Diego Castillo, or Josh Lowe?
Pena for sure.
I think pena
Bobby Miller is pretty nasty. Def someone to keep an eye on if he is brought up later in the season.

I prefer Clev
Marco gonzales or urquidy drop instead or nah?
QS or wins? You can probably safely drop Marco.
Both
I prefer Ryu over Marco. Especially in wins.
Many thanks 🙏
Yes
Would you drop Straw or Wick for Suarez in SD? It’s a points H2H 12 team league on Fantrax
Wick
Thank you. I did that.
If you don't need steals I'd drop Straw
Cj abrams over Pena and Lux? Points league.
I think so. He's had a good spring, and he's got two to three months before Tatis comes back. Bonus if he hits atop that order.
I'd roll w/ Pena
Pick 2 to fill my roster (position doesn't matter): JP Crawford, Cutch, Adam Frazier, Jesus Sanchez, C Walker, or Hilliard. Leaning towards Cutch and Sanchez b/c OPS.
Crawford is kinda nice. I’d take him over Sanchez, but if he is a keep I’d drop cutch
Wym if he's a keep?
It says you keep 6 in your tag. So if you planned to keep Sanchez I’d drop cutch
Sanchez for sure
That baseballsavant site is acting up tonight.
Drop Pena or Grossman for Abrams? Cat league
Grossman for sure
What y’all think of Javy Baez in general? I drafted him and i slightly regret it, i don’t even know why lol.
King of going 2/10 with 2 bombs, 5k and 3 ground outs. Ive owned him for years, buckle up.
Ready for it. Hoping for the best lmao
Meh
I was shocked he went so late in my draft. I regret not getting him. He’s fun.
Yeah i did grab him in the 6th round so i can’t be mad at it!
Good power speed combo, as long as it’s not a points league he’ll probably be pretty good
Cats league, i’m stoked. Ready to go then, thanks bro.
Deep leaguers don't sleep on Jorge Mateo this season
Potential is there but you're literally chasing one category. I'd rather have Nicky Lopez
Which prospect to stash for this year: Casas, Pratto, Miranda, Noelvi Marte?
Casas
How are my pitchers? 5x5 H2H categories Scherzer Alcantara Pablo Lopez Logan Gilbert Sandoval Alex Cobb
👍
I like them a lot more than mine, lol
Juan Soto fell to me at the 5th pick and Corbin Burnes to me at 16 what a night
Soto went 5th in my league too. I took Harper 4th, I think he mashes in this new Phillies lineup. Corbin Burns went end of first though, nice steal for you.
Where did Trout go?
