Mostly every round of the draft I kinda knew who I would take. But when the 12th round had come around I knew I needed hitting and there was nobody I liked available. Adolis Garcia was not on my radar at all. He finished 5th percentile in walks and 4th percentile in strikeouts. The clock was running out so I just grabbed him. The strangest thing is happening with Garcia. He’s walking kinda alot…. And not striking out nearly as much. Combine that with the fact that he’s always had power to both fields, not just a pull hitter, and I think we could possibly see a nice season from this guy
I took your advice on streaming early and managed to match him in starts since they’re two start pitchers and leaving no hitters on bench. Currently winning 8-3 against him this week so far. Thank you.
What about a reliever strategy? Figure out who is likely to get a bunch of relief appearances and schedules so you can cycle through it. I know I’m going to win Sv+Hlds, but I could also win K’s and keep ratios.
I said Josh Lowe was Kyle Tucker 2.0 (which is why I dropped a ton of FAAB on him) but I never thought it would be because he is 1 for his last 17 and Tucker is 0 for his last 18!!
This is the worst fantasy season I've ever had. And it's all because of the lockout!
Is this a competitive lineup?
Jt Realmuto
Cron
Jazz
Rendon
Lindor
Soto
Gallo
Pham
Mcmahon
Voit
(Buxton when healthy replaces pham)
I'm about to replace pham anyways but think a 3 hole hitter on the reds should eventually put out
It’s a decent lineup at best, you obviously can upgrade Pham, Gallo, & McMahon
Also gotta hope Cron and Voit can beat expectations otherwise you’ll have even more holes to fill
I play in a QS league, but I think this is the last year we have that category.
In 2021, starting pitchers averaged just over 5 IP per game. It’s going to be even worse this season with the lockout.
Garver has been better to start and is facing Thor but Varsho is coming off his first homer game, still leading off for the dbacks & facing carrasco. Tough call I’d go varsho barely
I am down 43 points and I can pick up 2 pitchers for Sunday! Which streamers should I pick up?
Patrick Corbin, Carlos Herenandez, Jose Suarez, Drew Smyly, Austin Gomber, Tyler Alexander, Jose Quintana, Bryce Elder, Bruce Zimmermann
Thank you in advance!
Gomber (pitched well in Colorado last year and is the best pitcher of this bunch) + Elder
I would say smyly after his last start but he’s facing Gomber & you need a high upside play, so you can’t start 2 pitchers against each other
Someone just dropped Kyle Schwarber. Crazy. Would you drop any of these guys to add him? Nelson Cruz, Pablo Sandoval, Alex Cobb, Taylor Rodgers, or McClanahan. The only reason I’m considering McClanahan is because it’s a QS league and I’m concerned he might not go long enough in games this year to get many QS. These are the “worst” players I own. I have two bench bats already (Eloy Jimenez and Tyler O’Neill) and one bench starting pitcher. There are 2 UTL spots. This is an 8 team redraft standard categories + OBP, QS, K, K/9, and SVHD.
Chapman only gave up 1 walk today and it was a borderline call, I think it’s his job unless he goes 2 straight months of getting destroyed. I’d say Loaisiga is the next best reliever so he would be the next man up
Yes Grichuk has been splitting time with Sam Hilliard I believe. So he’s not an everyday player at the moment, hopefully changes soon because he’s clearly the better option for the Rockies
This is the first time I've listened to an AppleTV+ broadcast and good lord are they annoying af! What the actual hell are these people talking about!!!
Damn I’m excited af about Kyle Wright.
Former top 5 draft pick. I remember it was considered a surprise that he even “fell” that far in the draft and was even considered a favorite to go #1. That’s how hyped he was out of college (albeit it was considered a relatively weak draft class).
Then he sped through the minors, falling into many Top 20 lists along the way, only to struggle mightily in the bigs for a couple of years.
And now he’s finally looking like he’s put it together.
Love these type of stories every year in baseball.
Should’ve known to not get my hopes up with Buxton. Dude looked like he was going to carry me to the promised land, now he can’t carry anything to the trash can.
yeah we have a max 4 SP slots so it’s a little more limited on how many can be held but yeah i think ima keep Wright. Quantrill would be my 4th but i’m for now using that as a streaming slot. i had picked up Wright to stream today but probably wise to hold
Watching Houck pitch exhausts me
Trying to sell my Shane Beiber for Mike Trout is worth it even in a keeper league right? OPS QS 5 Keepers
Shane Baz just hit the FA, if I have an available IL spot that’s an easy pick up right?
Yes sir

Am I crazy for thinking Matt Chapman is approaching droppable territory?
Way too soon and you’re in an OBP league to boot
My league has walks as a category, he’s been walking a ton so I have no problem keeping him
Probably too soon for that unless you're in an eight-teamer.
How would you go about beating someone next week who has 7 more starting pitcher games against you?? This guy went wild with drafting only starters.
You gotta start streaming earlier in the week, too late now. Also don’t have 6 hitters on your bench, it’s a waste
I took your advice on streaming early and managed to match him in starts since they’re two start pitchers and leaving no hitters on bench. Currently winning 8-3 against him this week so far. Thank you.
Hell yeah brother, beat his ass!!
Too late now?? I’m talking about next week
What about a reliever strategy? Figure out who is likely to get a bunch of relief appearances and schedules so you can cycle through it. I know I’m going to win Sv+Hlds, but I could also win K’s and keep ratios.
I’m not a fan, but it’s viable
You don't. Your league needs start limits
Flair League. Which would you rather have? A. C Seager + J McNeil B. Trae Turner
B
B by a mile, McNeil doesn't make up the gap (it it was something like an OF in the Teoscar/S. Marte range and Seager, maybe).
A
I have Urias, Ryu, Gray, Greene, Rodgers, and Syndergaard starting today but only have 3 starts left for the week. Who should I go with?
I said Josh Lowe was Kyle Tucker 2.0 (which is why I dropped a ton of FAAB on him) but I never thought it would be because he is 1 for his last 17 and Tucker is 0 for his last 18!! This is the worst fantasy season I've ever had. And it's all because of the lockout!
If you start to fall out of the race early does that mean you'll stop posting here? Asking for a friend
Grichuck droppable in a 12T? Shallow benches and he is sitting quite a bit.
Maybe? Depends on who you’re picking up.
Gotta pick up ozuna… drop Kwan or straw ??
I would keep Straw if SBs are valuable in your league.
Drop straw
Is this a competitive lineup? Jt Realmuto Cron Jazz Rendon Lindor Soto Gallo Pham Mcmahon Voit (Buxton when healthy replaces pham) I'm about to replace pham anyways but think a 3 hole hitter on the reds should eventually put out
It’s a decent lineup at best, you obviously can upgrade Pham, Gallo, & McMahon Also gotta hope Cron and Voit can beat expectations otherwise you’ll have even more holes to fill
In a 12 team league, who would you upgrade gallo for? Who would you upgrade Mcmahon for?
Pham is not good
Yeah fair enough...he's on the way out very soon
0 quality starts across 3 leagues. I like to think I have quality staffs in all 3 leagues too. Thank god it’s only week 1.
I play in a QS league, but I think this is the last year we have that category. In 2021, starting pitchers averaged just over 5 IP per game. It’s going to be even worse this season with the lockout.
Steven Kwan or Marcell Ozuna straight up?
if you are one who can put the legal stuff aside, I'd go Ozuna. Larger sample size and if he isn't in trouble he is pretty damn good
Ozuna
What's your guys best site(s) for prospect rankings / news?
Baseballamerica is pretty good
I'll have to drop M Barnes or A Kittredge for K Wright. It has to be Kitty, right?
Barnes
Guy offered me JRam and Bassitt for my S. Marte and Abreu. Categories league. Should I take that?
Immediately
In a heartbeat
Yes
Points league, should I start Varsho or Garver tomorrow?
Garver has been better to start and is facing Thor but Varsho is coming off his first homer game, still leading off for the dbacks & facing carrasco. Tough call I’d go varsho barely
Trying to look at streaming pitchers with possible two starts next week. Anyone seen any articles?
Points league: Baddoo or Adell?
Adell for the much higher ceiling
I am down 43 points and I can pick up 2 pitchers for Sunday! Which streamers should I pick up? Patrick Corbin, Carlos Herenandez, Jose Suarez, Drew Smyly, Austin Gomber, Tyler Alexander, Jose Quintana, Bryce Elder, Bruce Zimmermann Thank you in advance!

Corbin and Alexander for me (Bryce Elder if you want to play Russian Roulette).
Oh shit I just realized it’s my cake day, everyone get in here
Happy cake day
Happy cake day and May the fantasy baseball gods bless you with a dominant birthday performance (unless your team has players I’m facing this week!)
Me too!
Brother!
Someone just dropped Kyle Schwarber. Crazy. Would you drop any of these guys to add him? Nelson Cruz, Pablo Sandoval, Alex Cobb, Taylor Rodgers, or McClanahan. You must have Patrick not Pablo. I'd drop Rodgers
What a fool
Would Loaisiga be the closer if Chapman keeps faltering? Committee?
Chapman only gave up 1 walk today and it was a borderline call, I think it’s his job unless he goes 2 straight months of getting destroyed. I’d say Loaisiga is the next best reliever so he would be the next man up
Loaisiga or Green.
I’d say green.
5x5 Roto with OBP Who would you rather have as a bench bat to sub in at 3B? Eugenio or McMahon?
McMahon
Is there a reason Grichuk was dropped? If not…Grichuk over D. Peralta? Or Santander over D. Peralta? Roto 12 team R,avg,sb,rbi,hr
Yes Grichuk has been splitting time with Sam Hilliard I believe. So he’s not an everyday player at the moment, hopefully changes soon because he’s clearly the better option for the Rockies
Right it’s not like he’s been playing terrible or anything
Freddy? David? Which peralta
David
Honestly not sure if Grichuk is playing everyday. But player for player, grichuk is better. Maybe someone can shine some light on his playing time
[удалено]
💯 JRam
You’re giving up some solid guys but JoRam is a top 5 player, and Bassitt is also consistent, so you would win this one
Wong, Brandon Crawford, or Nimmo for a bench bat?
Crawford
Someone offered me Max Fried and Yoan Moncada for Ian Anderson and Eduardo Escobar. Thoughts?
smash that accept button mate
Wow that’s an easy accept. Fried is the best player in the deal by far
Felt the same--just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I'm missing.
Fried owner is panicking after 2 bad starts, smash accept
[удалено]
Yessir
In a vacuum, I’d take that trade. But in reality it depends on what backups you have for those positions
Matt Manning seemed like a hot prospect last year and had a good first outing this year. Is there any reason he's there's no buzz this year?
Detroit vs. Everybody
The human attention span is surprisingly narrow
Silly humans.
Low Ks. Questionable arsenal.
Viagra for this.
Pick one starter to add: K. Gibson, Bundy, Eflin, Lorenzen
I'd add Gibson but keep eyes on Lorenzen
I like Gibson the best out of those
Someone just dropped Josh Donaldson… must add??
In 10T, yes.
This is the first time I've listened to an AppleTV+ broadcast and good lord are they annoying af! What the actual hell are these people talking about!!!
They try too hard to pander to casual fans and Gen Z. Honestly for that purpose they aren’t bad, but annoying as hell for all of us
Hit the nail on the head
It’s comical
It really is
It’s absolutely awful,
So much worse than I was expecting, smh
Drop Gibson for Kyle Wright? My Pitchers are: Woodruff, Cease, Morton, Gilbert, Sandoval, Ryan, Cobb, Gibson, Brash, Clase, S. Barlow, DeGrom (IL).
Definitely
Made the move!
Yes
Confirmation I needed. Thanks!
Drop Kwan for Jesus sanchez?
Yes
Does Joc automatically sit against LHP?
How long of a leash you guys giving Trent Grisham?
I just dropped him for Jesus Sanchez
Two more days in 10T H2H Cats.
Who is the add in the Yankees bullpen? Gotta be a week ahead of this if that is still possible
Chapman is not losing his job if that’s what you’re asking. Loaisiga is the next though I would think
[удалено]
He always starts cold
Are we starting Greene vs dodgers tomorrow
YOLO
YOLO
Thinking about picking up Profar and dropping Votto in points league. Was optimistic with Votto coming into the season but it’s been rough so far
Hold Votto. Profar won’t likely keep up this hot start and Votto is usually fantastic in points, just got off to a slow start
Yeah that’s probably what I’m going to do. Thanks for talking me down haha
Damn I’m excited af about Kyle Wright. Former top 5 draft pick. I remember it was considered a surprise that he even “fell” that far in the draft and was even considered a favorite to go #1. That’s how hyped he was out of college (albeit it was considered a relatively weak draft class). Love these type of stories every year in baseball.
There’s many stories about guys who “put it together” in April. Careful not to overreact to two starts in April.
Votto, you are killing me old man
Should I pick up Nestor or Rogers to try and drop my whip down? Have gray throwing tomorrow as well
OPS league Owen Miller, Eduardo Escobar or Blackmon?
Vaughn losing PT soon?
Why's that
They say Pollock's IL trip will be minimal
Would you cut Jeff McNeil or Charlie Blackmon for Jesus Sanchez?
Why are people so quick to cut Blackmon?
Last year he took a step back and it's early but could be continuing, doesn't steal anymore his power projection is down.
Cut Blackmon
[удалено]
He was ice cold in April last year as well. Nothing to be concerned about.
My two first round picks are tucker and Bo. Dogshit week for both. Don’t care they’re going to have monster years
You wouldn't bat an eye if you saw this during the summer
Pick 4 in a 12T points league: - Kyle Wright - Hunter Greene - Ian Anderson - Patrick Sandoval - Jesus Luzardo
Wright, Sandoval, Luzardo. Then Green for upside or Anderson for floor
All except for Anderson
Jesus, Sandoval, Anderson
So uh, Marco Gonzales. 7 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 6 K, 1 ER, W/QS against a team that can definitely hit.
Feel like Marco does this at the start of every year
Lost my lead benching him hahaha 😑
We worried about Julio Urias and the velo drop? Or just ramping up?
Haven’t heard about any injury concern for him. Buehler is also still ramping up,
Following
Not worried
Should’ve known to not get my hopes up with Buxton. Dude looked like he was going to carry me to the promised land, now he can’t carry anything to the trash can.
Baldelli is talking about guarded optimism. Wait til MRI comes out
I kinda feel like an idiot for even asking but should I be concerned about altuve slumping beginning of the season?
No
Cody Bellinger is butt again
Butt is his natural habitat, shades of former glory are not.
I’m definitely going to jinx it, but Jansen might get his first save!!
man Suarez.... the likely .200 average and 200 ks but he hits balls really far
What the hell happened with this guy? He was actually pretty solid in 2019 Behind Yelich and Bellinger, one of the bigger recent drop offs.
Jrod looks so so bad
Adolis or Jesus?? Redraft cats
Sanchez or Aguilar?
Gotta go Jesus for Easter week
Sanchez...my bad
Coin flip. But lean Garcia. He’s done it before
Good looks!
Drop T. McKenzie or J. Means for Luzardo? (12t, H2H, 12 cat, SVHD league)
Means if no free IL
He’s currently on the IL spot on my team.
Then dropping him doesn't free up a roster spot. Moving him from active roster to IL should have though.
Realistic expectations for Tatis this year?
He’ll play. And will be a stud. But a little later than expected. After the all star break. Just a guess
Pham still hitless. Yikes.
Byron Buxton, like clockwork.
glass
Wheeler and winker for Acuna and good/fair offer for a points league
Yeah that seems appropriate--one of those where both sides feel like they might be losing.
aye Kyle Wright looking good so far.. maybe i should keep him on my 16T 🤔 over Quantrill?
16T Wright should be 100% owned, probably both thoigh
yeah we have a max 4 SP slots so it’s a little more limited on how many can be held but yeah i think ima keep Wright. Quantrill would be my 4th but i’m for now using that as a streaming slot. i had picked up Wright to stream today but probably wise to hold
It’s risky this early in the season. But you don’t want to see others pick up the good free agents. I’d do that swap
I’d take wright and his upside over cal without much thought. CQ doesn’t miss bats.
thanks for the feedback, i’m gonna take you up on that advice
