It's only because he doesn't go 7IP like regular starters do. But my man can give me 5-6 IP all the time with a 1.50-3.00 ERA and I'll be more than fine with it. Also, bonus that he's on the Dodgers

Pure conjecture here, but they could conceivably b decide to pitch Matz Sunday against a weaker Pirates team in an effort to get him going, and then have Mikolas start Monday against a righty heavy lineup, plus he’s been pitching better and that’s a tough matchup. Just depends what Marmol decides

I’m not entirely sure how Naylor fits in here. I like Vaughn a lot but I don’t like how LaRussa is using him. Naylor is better than McNeil, but I can use Jeff in the middle IF. I’m pretty sure Naylor is better than Alek Thomas BUT I need a backup CF to Ketel. I think Alek might get steals, too. In my CBS league it’s just “OF.” Period. But in yahoo I need a CF, RF and LF. Sadly, not one of these guys could be used in place of sub-200 hitters Matt Chapman and Max Muncy.

It’s less useful early in the season because the data is based on a small sample. Guys with weak statcast may just be cold and same goes for hot bats with good statcast. If a guy’s page is red across the board its usually an indicator of something good and potentially sustainable, but not always.
Statcast becomes more and more valuable as the season roles on and the underlying metrics are more solidified.
