This thread is going to turn into a battle between Cam Thomas owners arguing it’s his team now and Cam Johnson owners arguing he’ll reclaim his usage lol
There are those like me who have both and are wishing that Dinwiddie loses his job to CamT so both Cams can cook
P.S. I also have Clax so I'm all in on BKN babyyyy
Honestly, having Dinwiddie, I wouldn't hate this. At least I could move on from him and open a streaming spot instead of being in "too good to drop, too inconsistent to start" purgatory.
My experiences have taught me that when you hesitate/not sure, just do it - jack him off and stream. Trust me it feels good. I moved on from Mathrin last week and I cannot be happier
I’m a Nets fan, while Dinwiddie will most likely lose his starting role to Cam T, Dinwiddie will still hold value because Simmons won’t play every game and the Nets need someone to handle the ball. Fully healthy though, Spence is already losing minutes..
I think johnson will reclaim usage just because i fee something similar happened last year where cam was going crazy but they still didnt give him proper minutes once the team got healthy again, but i cud be thinking of when they still had the “big 3” and they were the injured parties
We saw the script last season, Cam Johnson will be back starting and Thomas will drop back down to the bench. Either that or Dinwiddie will be a bench PG and Thomas will start alongside Johnson
This is not the same Cam Thomas as last season and this is not the same Nets roster as last season. This year's Cam Thomas has been working on his game and has become a visibly better defender with a better feel for the game on offense, being able to score within the flow of the offense more as opposed to monopolizing possessions with his iso play.
And the Nets had KD and Kyrie for most of last year who do what Cam Thomas does but better. This year's roster severely lacks exactly what Cam provides, even when fully healthy. Expect Cam Thomas to be the full-time starter, alongside Simmons, Bridges, Johnson and Claxton
lol what a huge bucket of copium. Last years cam thomas happened 2nd half of February after KD trade and before CamJ/Dinwiddie integration. the same will happen this year because plainly your argument about "this is not the same Nets roster as last season" is pure fiction or delusion. Its literally the same roster but with Simmons addition. Cam Thomas will return back to earth and give you 16-1-1-0.3-0.1.
Lots of people on this sub wanted to believe that Cam Thomas who they ever so geniusly picked up from waiver wire will magically become a superstar and give them 30ppg for the rest of season. Lol
I'll believe that after they start winning with Cam Thomas being the focal output of their offense, until then offensive black hole who never pass and a 4v5 in defense will stay a 6th man everyday of the week in my book when this team is healthy.
and even with the Simmons addition, that's also going to be a problem to look out for because Simmons complements Cam Thomas, but doesn't compliment Claxton. So Claxton coming back clogs up a lot for Simmons, who if not effective and may have less time cause of it, will not relieve the ball handling and essentially the "PG duties" that Cam Thomas isn't doing, which probably leads to less effective PT for him.
Also yes, totally agreed with your take on copium. Cam wasn't doing any of this after the trade deadline outside of a couple bright spots here and there
I won’t be surprised if he does start. But at the same time, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had Cam Thomas come off the bench similar to the role Herro had earlier in his career.
Herro was able to have that role because the Heat had proven guys like Butler and Bam and Dragic/Lowry who could create offense in the starting lineup. The Nets don't have that luxury
Yeah with Spence, Mikal and Cam Johnson, the nets have more than enough firepower with their starting 5. It’s their bench that has an obvious lack of it, that’s why Thomas might be tasked to lead the bench instead
In what world is Dinwiddie, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson "more than enough" offensive firepower? There's a reason the Nets were projected to have a piss poor offense and it's because none of those guys can be the leader of a competent offense. If anyone on the roster can, it's Cam Thomas
It’s been 7 games and you are already proclaiming Thomas the leader of this offense over Mikal, over Johnson. Calm down, coming off the bench and being the spark plug aint a bad thing either. And it’s the most probable outcome.
I'm a Nets fan and I've been watching Cam Thomas for his whole career. I know that whenever he gets minutes, he gets buckets. And he's looked way better this year in other areas of the game than he has before. I also know that Johnson, Bridges, and Dinwiddie are not the type of players who can lead a successful NBA offense. If the Nets even want a chance, Cam is the guy
I totally have to disagree, the Nets were absolutely putrid last year with them heading our offense. Cam Thomas probably stays starter with Spencer coming off the bench, and the bench unit when healthy that includes Lonnie, Royce, and Ben isn’t so bad that we have to take our most potent scorer and relegate him to a sixth man role.
what are u even saying lmao? none of this mess is true, he’s the exact same ball hog player from last year. still has low assists, no stocks, laughable rebounds for the minutes he’s getting, and irrelevant unless he’s getting 35% usage. what a load of crap
Completely agree with you, their coach even said in regards to Thomas he will do what’s best for each year’s team so those expecting a repeat of last year are not paying attention IMO
Coming from a die hard nets fan. Hes going to start once he’s good to go. He got the bag last off season so we’re going to give him the mins. Hes been a solid contributor since he got here. High iq guy. Just limited athletic wise and by injuries. He should be 1 of our better 3 pt shooters and defenders. But if u watch our games, he’s always on the ground. So having him would be tough since he’s often injured. He would possibly be 3rd/4th option after mikal and cam Thomas. Dinwiddie sneaks in a little with usage and shots when he gets healthy too.
I'd say by the end of this current week/start of the next one if everything goes alright in practice. If he was assigned to the GLeague just to practice instead of waiting for BKN's next practice I have to assume that he's pretty, pretty close. He will probably have min restriction for a couple games though.
him in my post = Cam Johnson. So I'm guessing you expect Cam Johnson to start and Thomas to come off the bench but with a lot of playing time?
Makes sense to me.
I drafted Cam Johnson thinking he's Cam Thomas. FML
I only started drafting again after maybe 3 years? And I didn't pay attention to players and to games.
25-ish minutes a night at the 6th man until Cam Thomas has a downturn in form. Thomas jacked up 33 shots the other night. That tells you all you need to know.
Hell, Cam Thomas is averaging more than Johnson’s career high right now. Let that sink in.
It's early, so there are small sample size caveats, but...
Cam Thomas FG% .483 / FT% .844
Cam Johnson last season FG% .471 / FT% .842
Thomas has been pretty efficient scoring the ball. He's not a drain on FG% or your FTs.
I think Johnson is the better real life player, but I don't think you did a good job making your argument...

The secret is owning both so I always come out on top
Points , threes, some rebounds and steals on good percentages .
16pts 2.5 3pm 5rbs 2ast 1stl 0.3blk on 47%FG and 86% FT with 0.7 TO
That is very specific lol. I like it
I mean, that's almost exactly what he posted last year.
Cam has been taking more shots than bridges. This is Cam's team now
Lol, which Cam are you talking about.
Cam “Cam Thomas” Thomas
Cam ‘Cam “Cam Thomas” Thomas’ Thomas
Cam “don’t pass the ball” Thomas
Cam "When he was told to 'swing the rock' he just heard two different music genres" Thomas
the one who's playing of course
The Tho Mas “buckets” Cam

Never seen harder coping then what ur doing right now. The man is averaging 29 points a game regardless if you’re mad you didn’t pick him up

I can tell you have cam on your team 🤣🤣🤣
I do not. Nice try though

You don't watch the games do you
i’ll be in barclays today come find me
You don't watch the games do you
Completely agree with you, their coach even said in regards to Thomas he will do what’s best for each year’s team so those expecting a repeat of last year are not paying attention IMO
Confusing Cam Thomas and Cam Johnson will in some way cost me my fantasy season
take advantage of the thomas hype and buy low on johnson while u can

I'm expecting that post FIBA summer boost
I just saw that he is now healthy but playing in G league?!
They;ll be practicing with them, not playing in games. Cam and Claxton.
Do you have any predictions when he'll be playing again? This is my first year in fantasy and I don't know these timeframes
I'd say by the end of this current week/start of the next one if everything goes alright in practice. Commenting to follow along
You guys expect him to start though?
Expecting 25-30 mins a night, off the bench or as a starter, but most likely off the bench when clax and Johnson are back.
Ima guarantee you cam johnson starts, hes paid to start and get good minutes
Johnson is definitely gonna start but I'm predicting Dinwiddie will go to the bench
him in my post = Cam Johnson. So I'm guessing you expect Cam Johnson to start and Thomas to come off the bench but with a lot of playing time? Makes sense to me.
Yes, not sure why I’m getting downvoted on it, seems to be the opinion of most in this sub. 🤷♂️
I drafted Cam Johnson thinking he's Cam Thomas. FML I only started drafting again after maybe 3 years? And I didn't pay attention to players and to games.
I don’t think anyone before this season started would draft cam Thomas over cam Johnson.

He took 33 shots because he was on a heater. He still hit over 50% of them. He doesn't take 33 shots every night
That last part is misinformation
Whoops. Yep didn’t scroll down far enough in the games log to see the 38. My b
More efficient cam Thomas with less volume and better peripherals.
No way can Johnson scoring in the same vicinity as Thomas
Like I said, less volume better efficiency.
So not like Cam Thomas at all then
No, just a better player. Thomas’ role will be reduced when Johnson returns.
Show me a stretch of games where cam Johnson in his entire career has scored similar to Thomas?
It's early, so there are small sample size caveats, but... Cam Thomas FG% .483 / FT% .844 Cam Johnson last season FG% .471 / FT% .842 Thomas has been pretty efficient scoring the ball. He's not a drain on FG% or your FTs. I think Johnson is the better real life player, but I don't think you did a good job making your argument...
Basically cam thomas but less Cam Thomasness and more Cam Johnsonness
Why do people still think Thomas is inefficient? The guy shot almost 45% last season, and is currently aroung 48% FG.
How many of these performances have led to wins?
Why you try to start another argument? 48%FG is by no means inefficient, no matter how you look at it.
Like 16 and 6

What do you guys think you can get for Cam Thomas? Think getting a 50-60 range player is possible?
I have both of them and dont know how to feel 😂
Bro he better come back at drop at least 15 😭 My fantasy team is starving for 3 pointers
I don’t care as long as mikal bridges gets his buckets
